• Match a word with similar words using Solr?

  I want to search for threads in my mysql database with Solr. But i want it to not just search the thread words, but for similar words. Eg. if a thread title is "dog for sale" and if the user searches for dogs the title will be in the result. and also if a user searches for "mac os x" the word "snow leopard" will appear. and the ability to link words the application thinks is related eg. house and apartment. how is this kind of logic done? i know that you can with solr look up words in a dictionary file you create/add, so solr will look for dogs and see what related words there are (eg. dog). but where do you find such a dictionary? i have no idea about this kind of implementation. please point me into right direction. thanks

  Hi, I found this article (http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/bb967663.aspx) and thought great thats exactly what I'm trying to do. I want to programatically build a product brochure using content controls and openXML. The article in question refers to an accompanying video which unfortunately does not appear to be available, nor does the code. I posted a comment to ask where they are but in the meantime does anybody know of a good example. There are plenty of examples of binding/merging one record into a openXML Word document. But I want to bind a whole list of records to create a product brochure. Can anyone point me to good tutorial? Thanks

• Generated PersonController expects Authority to contain word ROLE

  I'm brand new to acegi and relatively new to Grails. I just followed the tutorial to set up a new role and a new user. Every time I saved the user (with a role checked), it saved the user information fine, but not the role associated with the user. I finally dug into the controller code that was generated, and noticed this: private void addRoles(person) { for (String key in params.keySet()) { if (key.contains('ROLE') && 'on' == params.get(key)) { Authority.findByAuthority(key).addToPeople(person) } } } So to be sure I was interpreting it correctly, I added the word ROLE to my authorties, and it worked like a charm. Am I missing something obvious, is this a bug, or.......? The examples showed simple role names like "user" or "manager".

  Hi, I have a team of 10 persons who work on word documents, they format them as per our defined guidlines. To complete the work fast we have created a macro that has been updated on all the machines. This macro corrects the font, size and formatting. How can I ensure and implement that nobody can change/replace or delete this macro from their system? In case this happens I should get an alert.   I have a text file of size 115MB. It consists of about 20 million words. I have to use the file as a word collection, and use it to search the occurrence of each user-given words from the collection. I am using this process as a small part in my project. I need a method for finding out the number of occurrence of given words in a faster and correct manner since i may use it in iterations. I am in need of suggestion about any API that i can make use or some other way that performs the task in a quicker manner. Any recommendations are appreciated.

  Does OneNote web app support paste image from clipboard (with ctrl+v)? I can manage to copy an image from web and directly paste into OneNote, but I cannot copy from my PC, and paste into OneNote. • No recent docs listed in Office 2007 on Windows XP Pro

  Hi, I have Office 2007 installed on a laptop running Windows XP Pro. When I go to open a file in Excel or Word, there is no list of recent documents. On the Options/Advanced page, the "show this number of recent documents" spinner displays 0 but is grayed out so I can't change it. The help page it directs me to describes how to disable the list, but not how to enable it. In Word, it says something about the list being disallowed by Group Policy, but I am not part of any workgroup and, as far as I know, the policies are all uninitialized, so it should be allowed by default. There are recent files listed in MRU keys in the registry. A similar question has been answered, but I believe that only applies to Windows Vista or 7 because the folder mentioned doesn't exist on my system. Instead, the folder "%APPDATA%\Microsoft\Office\Recent" contains shortcuts to recent docs for both Excel and Word. Any other ideas? Thanks.

  I created class Word. Word has a constructor that takes a string argument and one method getSubstrings which returns a String containing all substring of word, sorted by length. For example, if the user provides the input "rum", the method returns a string that will print like this: r u m ru um rum I want to concatenate the substrings in a String, separating them with a newline ("\n"). Then return the string. Code: public class Word { String word; public Word(String word) { this.word = word; } /** * Gets all the substrings of this Word. * @return all substrings of this Word separated by newline */ public String getSubstrings() { String str = ""; int i, j; for (i = 0; i < word.length(); i++) { for (j = 0; j < word.length(); j++) { str = word.substring(i, i + j); str += "\n"; } } return str; } But it throws exception: java.lang.StringIndexOutOfBoundsException: String index out of range: -1 at java.lang.String.substring(String.java:1911) I stuck at this point. Maybe, you have other suggestions according this method signature public String getSubstrings(). How to solve this issue?
