  • Using include() to load different page content acts differently locally vs hosted

    I have a live site that includes different php files depending on what page the user is trying to access. The header and footer are the same, but in the file, if the user requests filename1.php vs filename2.php, a different php is loaded into the content of the page. Basic CMS stuff. On the live site, it works fine. I just set up a local dev environment, and it doesn't work. The file that is supposed to load into the middle of the page instead is the only file loaded. I'm not saying this well. Here's an example: How it works live: <html> <head> Stuff </head> <body> More stuff <? include( 'some_file.php' ); ?> </body> </html> How it works locally: <? include( 'some_file.php' ); ?> Just that file loads, no other content. Any thoughts on why that one page is loading, but not the surrounding content? If I'm not explaining this well, please let me know.

  • Using the contents of an array to set individual pixels in a Quartz bitmap context

    I have an array that contains the RGB colour values for each pixel in a 320 x 180 display. I would like to be able to set individual pixel values in the a bitmap context of the same size offscreen then display the bitmap context in a view. It appears that I have to create 1x1 rects and either put a stroke on them or a line of length 1 at the point in question. Is that correct? I'm looking for a very efficient way of getting the array data onto the graphics context as you can imagine this is going to be an image buffer that cycles at 25 frames per second and drawing in this way seems inefficient. I guess the other question is should I use OPENGL ES instead? Thoughts/best practice would be much appreciated.   • Erlang ODBC parameter query with null parameters

    Is it possible to pass null values to parameter queries? For example Sql = "insert into TableX values (?,?)". Params = [{sql_integer, [Val1]}, {sql_float, [Val2]}]. % Val2 may be a float, or it may be the atom, undefined odbc:param_query(OdbcRef, Sql, Params). Now, of course odbc:param_query/3 is going to complain if Val2 is undefined when trying to match to a sql_float, but my question is... Is it possible to use a parameterized query, such as: Sql = "insert into TableY values (?,?,?,?,?,?,?,?,?)". with any null parameters? I have a use case where I am dumping a large number of real-time data into a database by either inserting or updating. Some of the tables I am updating have a dozen or so nullable fields, and I do not have a guarantee that all of the data will be there. Concatenating a SQL together for each query, checking for null values seems complex, and the wrong way to do it. Having a parameterized query for each permutation is simply not an option. Any thoughts or ideas would be fantastic! Thank you!

  • Is there a way to implement Caliburn-like co-routines in VB.NET since there's no yield keyword

    Note that I'm aware of other yield in vb.net questions here on SO. I'm playing around with Caliburn lately. Bunch of great stuff there, including co-routines implementation. Most of the work I'm doing is C# based, but now I'm also creating an architecture guideline for a VB.NET only shop, based on Rob's small MVVM framework. Everything looks very well except using co-routines from VB.     Hi! I have a Company class which have a collection of Address. Here's my Address class:(written top of my head): public class Address { public string Civic; public string Street; public City City; } This is the City class: public class City { public int Id; public string Name; public string SearchableName{ get { //code } } } Address is persisted in his own table and have a reference to the city's ID. City are also persisted in is own table. The City's SearchableName is used to prevent some mistakes in the city the user type. For example, if the city name is "Montréal", the searchable name will be "montreal". If the city name is "St. John", the searchable name will be "stjohn", etc. It's used mainly to to search and to prevent having multiple cities with a typo in it. When I save an address, I want an listener/event to check if the city is already in the database. If so, cancel the insert and replace the user's city with the database one. I would like the same behavior with updates.     Hi All, I am writing an application to play the youtube videos using streaming. First method: I am getting the RTSP URL to the video using GData APIs. Here is the code to play the RTSP url. VideoView mVideoView = new VideoView(this); setContentView(mVideoView); mVideoView.setVideoURI(Uri.parse("rtsp://rtsp2.youtube.com/CiILENy73wIaGQkDwpjrUxOWQBMYESARFEgGUgZ2aWRlb3MM/0/0/0/video.3gp")); mVideoView.start(); But it throws error on both G1 device and emulator (Emulator has some firewall problem as per mailing list) Here is the error message ERROR/PlayerDriver(35): Command PLAYER_INIT completed with an error or info PVMFFailure Second method: A hack way to get the path of 3gp file from http://www.youtube.com/get_video?v=&t=<&<.. After getting the file path and I can call setVideoURI and it plays fine. But it is a hack way to achieve the requirement. I have checked the Youtube App also, it also does the hack way to play the youtube url.(Checked with logcat) I have tried changing from VideoView to MediaPlayer but no change in the error. Is there a "Clean" way to do this? Please let me know your thoughts.

When i tried to use http://.../vets.xml, I was able to download the xml. I always had a problem when unit testing classes that calls other classes, for example I have a class that creates a new user from a phone-number then saves it to the database and sends a SMS to the number provided.   • Incorrect logic flow? function that gets coordinates for a sudoku game

    This function of mine keeps on failing an autograder, I am trying to figure out if there is a problem with its logic flow? Any thoughts? Basically, if the row is wrong, "invalid row" should be printed, and clearInput(); called, and return false. When y is wrong, "invalid column" printed, and clearInput(); called and return false. When both are wrong, only "invalid row" is to be printed (and still clearInput and return false. Obviously when row and y are correct, print no error and return true.   • Switching to WPF, the best use of time at Visual Studio Launch 2010

    Yes, this is a programming-related question, if a little indirectly (that's why I marked it Community Wiki right away). For better or worse, I am switching from Winforms to WPF in April. I am also going to be in attendance at the Visual Studio Launch in Las Vegas. I have a real need to get up to speed quickly in WPF, so my question is: What sessions are going to be the best use of my time? I've got some picked out already, but I'm looking for some more advice on how to wade through all the marketing fluff and get some real educational value out of these few days. I have not been to one of these events before, so I don't really know how much is marketing hype, and how much is solid content. A couple of the workshops look interesting (VPR02 and VPS02), but I don't know enough about the actual content of these to justify the extra expense right now. Any thoughts there would be appreciated. And yes, I do have WPF learning planned other than just these few days in Vegas, but since I'm going to be there anyway, I want to learn as much as I can in the time available.

    I am trying to get a Javascript object to use the "this" assignments of another objects' constructor, as well as assume all that objects' prototype functions.   • How do I make a web interface for a socket server

    I've got a socket server running (it's something that's basically like a chat server). Users can telnet into it, but I'd like to make a web interface. This is the first time I've ever done something like this, so I'm not really sure where to start. A few thoughts I've had: Have some server-side Python (or PHP) on my webserver, which accesses the socket server. I think I know enough about sockets to have Python interact with the server, but how do I go about getting the website that the user sees to update in real time? Should I just have the website refresh few seconds? I would prefer to do things this way if I can figure out how. Write a Java applet that interacts with the socket server, and embed the applet in the website. I would have to re-learn a language that I haven't touched in years, but my main goal here is learning -- so that wouldn't be such a bad thing. The main problem I have with this is that it requires end users to have Java installed on their computers, which I'd rather not do. Is one of these two solutions the right way to go? Anybody know where I can find a good tutorial to get started? Edit: There's no real security concerns with exposing the server to the internet.

  • What scenarios are possible where the VS C# compiler would not compile a reference of a reference?

    Hello, I'm probably asking this question wrong (and that may be why Google isn't helping), but here goes: In Visual Studio I am compiling a C# project (let's call it Project A, the startup project) which has a reference to Project B. Project B has a reference to a Project C, so when A gets built, the dlls for B gets placed in the bin directory of A, as does the dll for C (because B requires C, and A requires B). However, I have apparently made some change recently so that the dll for Project C does not go into the bin directory of Project A when rebuilding the solution. I have no idea what I've done to make this happen. I have not modified the setup of the solution itself, and I have only added additional references to the project files. Code wise, I have commented out most of the actual code in Project B that references classes in Project C, but did not remove the reference from the project itself (I don't think this matters). I was told that perhaps the C# compiler was optimizing somehow so that it was not building Project C, but really I'm out of ideas. I would think someone has run into something similar before Any thoughts? Thanks!

I've tried making the Vector3 a static variable, however I think it refers to the last instance of the object. How do I keep all of these object in memory? I think there being garbage collected. Any thoughts?

    I have two queries that I am using to generate a report from, the problem is when I run the report, three fields do not show any data at all for some reason. If I connect directly to the first recordset it works fine, but then SQL throws the error message: Multi-level GROUP BY cause not allowed in subquery. Is there any way to get around that message to link to it directly or does anyone have ANY clue why these fields are coming back blank? I am at wits end here!

  • How to have an iCalendar (RFC 2445) repeat YEARLY with duration

    I have been unsuccessful in formulating a RRULE that would allow an event as shown below: Repeats YEARLY, from first Sunday of April to last day of May, occuring on Monday, Wednesday and Friday, until forever. FREQ=YEARLY;BYMONTH=4;BYDAY=SU (gives me the first Sunday of April repeating yearly) and FREQ=YEARLY;BYMONTH=5;BYMONTHDAY=-1 (gives me the last day of May repeating yearly) But I can't figure out how to have the event repeat yearly between those dates for Monday, Wednesday and Friday. Suggestions? Update: Comments don't have enough space to respond to Chris' answer, so I am editing the question with further information. Unfortunately, no. I don't know if it is the DDay.iCal library I'm using, or what, but that doesn't work either. I've found that the date start can't be an ordinal date (first Sunday, etc.)..it has to be a specific date, which makes it difficult for my requirements.   • Archiver Securing SQLite Data without using Encryption on iPhone

    I'm developing an iphone app that uses Core Data with a SQLite data store and lots of images in the resource bundle. I want a "simple" way to obfuscate the file structure of the SQLite database and the image files to prevent the casual hacker/unscrupulous developer from gaining access to them. When the app is deployed, the database file and image files would be obfuscated. Upon launching the app it would read in and un-obfuscate the database file, write the un-obfuscated version to the users "tmp" directory for use by core data, and read/un-obfuscate image files as needed. I'd like to apply a simple algorithm to the files that would somehow scramble/manipulate the file data so that the sqlite database data isn't discernible when the db is opened in a text editor and so that neither is recognized by other applications (SQLite Manager, Photoshop, etc.) It seems, from the information I've read, that I could use NSFileManager, NSKeyedArchiver, and NSData to accomplish this but I'm not sure how to proceed. Been developing software for many years but I'm new to everything CocoaTouch, Mac and iPhone. Also never had to secure/encrypt my data so this is new. Any thoughts, suggestions, or links to solutions are appreciated.

  • IE8 claims my page has an error, firefox doesn't, and I can't find any error. Help!

    This is something of a follow-up question to my question here. You can find the HTML source in a text file here. When I load that page in IE8, I get the "Done, but with errors on page." message in my status bar. The detail view shows Expected identifier sms Line: 147 Code: 0 Char: 67 and I see absolutely no problems anywhere near there. In IE8, the page is still behaving erratically w/r/t the randomly losing focus as mentioned in my other question. When I load the same exact page in Firefox (using Firebug) the console shows no errors and the page works perfectly. Any thoughts on what's going on here? This is driving me nuts and making me want to give up on even trying to write an IE friendly page. Edit: Thanks for all the comments! This page is written as a JSP, so I edit in Eclipse. I found an Eclipse warning about the onblur event for the username field. I switched it from onblur="alert(document.activeElement + ' class:' + document.activeElement.class)" to onblur="alert(document.activeElement)" and that made the bizarre IE page error vanish. I had been trying to give more info (namely, its CSS class) about specifically which element is stealing focus - to my own detriment, apparently, since Javascript was interpreting the '.class' part in the Java(script) sense. And, no, the page doesn't validate. But the errors were mostly/all ones that just didn't make sense, such as Line 14, Column 41: Attribute "LANGUAGE" is not a valid attribute. Did you mean "language"? to which I say, WTF?! But I'm still stuck trying to figure out why, as I enter text in the username & password fields, focus randomly switches to a div (working on figuring out which div currently). Edit 2: It's the div between the two "global nav" comments, at the very top of the body. Still no idea why it's happening, though.

  • SQL Server 2005 Import from Excel

    I'd like to know what my best option would be to import data from an excel file on a weekly or monthly basis. At first, I thought I would use SSIS, but after much struggle with seemingly simple tasks, I'm starting to rethink my plan. Would it be better/easier to just write the SQL by hand or use the services of an SSIS package? The basic process will be as follows: A separate process will download an .xls file to a local fileshare. The xls file will have a filename like: 'myfilename MON YY'. I will need to read the month and year from the the filename, reformat it to a sql date and then query a DimDate table to find the corresponding date key. For each row (after the first 2 header rows), insert the data with the date key, unless the row is a total row, then ignore. Here are some of the issues I've been encountering with SSIS: I can parse the date string from a flat file datasource, but can't seem to do it with an excel data source. Also, once parsed, i cannot seem to convert the string to a date in order to perform the lookup for the date key. For example, I want to do something like this: select DateKey from DimDate where ActualDate = convert(datetime, '01-' + 'JAN-10', 120) but i don't think it is possible to use the 'convert' or 'datetime' keywords in an expression builder. I have been also unable to find where I can edit the SQL to ignore the first 2 rows of data. I'm very skeptical of using SSIS because it seems like a Kludgy way of doing something that can probably be accomplished more efficiently writing the SQL yourself, but I may be forced to use SSIS. Thoughts?

  • How can you connect to a password protected MS Access Database from a Spring JdbcTemplate?

    I need to connect to a password protected MS Access 2003 DB using the JDBC-ODBC bridge. I can't find out how to specify the password in the connect string, or even if that is the correct method of connecting. It would probably be relevant to mention that this is a Spring App which is accessing the database through a JdbcTemplate configured as a datasource bean in our application context file.   • Javascript getElementsByTagName broken firefox?

    I'm getting the weirdest issues with Javascript in Firefox today. I'm trying to manipulate some table rows, but .getElementsByTagName("tr"); is pulling back junk. dynamicTable.tableBody = dynamicTable.getElementsByTagName("tbody")[0]; var tableRows = dynamicTable.tableBody.getElementsByTagName("TR"); var actualTableRows = new Array(); for(var i in tableRows) { var row = tableRows[i]; alert(row.tagName); if(row.tagName == "TR"){ actualTableRows.push(row); } } dynamicTable.bodyRows = actualTableRows; The puzzling part of course is my temporary hack to fix the error. For some reason .getElementsByTagName("tr") is pulling back some functions also. Incidently the alert above goes something like this TR TR TR TR undefined undefined undefined. The code I wanted was something like this dynamicTable.bodyRows = dynamicTable.tableBody.getElementsByTagName("tr"); But then bodyrows does not contain just tr elements it has the aforementioned junk in it. Any thoughts?

    I'm not sure how I use get() to get my information. Looking at my book, they pass the key to get(). I thought that get() returns the object associated with that key looking at the documentation. But I must be doing something wrong here....   • Emails sometimes get scrambled

    Folks, I have a PHP-based based site (using the QCubed framework); as a part of the site, I have a daemon that's sending out several thousand emails a day (no i'm not a spammer, everything is opt-in :)). Emails are sent through a custom framework component; that component serves as an SMTP client. I'm using a paid SMTP gateway from DNSExit.com to get the emails actually delivered. Those emails are simple HTML-based emails; they really have just simple links inside. My issue is that these links sometimes (not consistently!) get scrambled during transition. Tags somehow get mixed up, and some links are non-functional in the email. The issue happens on a small percentage of all sent emails; it is not consistent (i.e. the same exact source message HTML may or may not cause the scrambling in transition). Have any of you seen this? Any thoughts on how to troubleshoot?

  • jquery-ui autocomplete with ASP MVC suggestions not displaying

    I have been trying to get a simple example of the jquery-ui autocomplete to work. I have a controller setup to handle the query, and it returns the json that looks to be in order, but I am getting no suggestions showing up. But I get no joy at all. Any thoughts?
