  • How to link latest stable version of libCURL using vc++2010

    On 2 separate machines in completely different environments (work, home) I've been unable to compile libCURL out of the box. Running nmake -f Makefile.vc mode=dll VC=10, I get an unresolved external symbol errors for _IdnToAscii and _IdnToUnicode. I believe the definitions are in Normaliz.lib, which is referenced in LFLAGS, but it either isn't finding it or the version I have doesn't have those functions. But I don't see any option to download this file...anyone have a good solution short of commenting out the 2 lines that use these functions?

    I'm looking or a way to programmatically determine which version of the .NET Framework an application pool is using in IIS, at runtime, and for a website application to then use that information to choose which *.config file it should use.     I'd like to add a --version command line option to my python application that will show the right version depending on the tagged status of the command: If the file comes from a version whose short hex ID was abcdef01 that was tagged TAG, --version should show this: MyApp Version TAG (abcdef01) If the file comes from the tip, --version should show this: MyApp (tip) If the file comes from an arbitrary, untagged revision abcdef02, --version should show this: MyApp (development, abcdef02) Is this possible? If so, how?

    Is there any Mac OS X equivalent header file for sysinfo.h in Linux. I am porting code from Linux to Mac but the structure struct sysinfo is not found. Edit: ==More info== In Linux platform I use a Header file <sys/sysinfo.h> which is not found in Mac. By including the header in Linux I perform following operation: struct sysinfo s; sysinfo(&s); Which in result give me some system related info.     I am trying to launch the emulator (Emulator 8.1 WVGA 4 inch 512 MB, or any other as a matter of fact) but it fails to launch. It goes to the "Loading OS" screen then throws an error box with the text "DEP6100". On VS, it says at the bottom Error1 Error : DEP6100 : The following unexpected error occurred during bootstrapping stage 'Connecting to the device': ObjectDisposedException - 0x80131622 and Error2 Error : DEP6100 : The following unexpected error occurred during bootstrapping stage 'Connecting to the device': ObjectDisposedException - 0x80131622 Looked in the internet but haven't found an answer yet.   • Setup Google Test (gtest) with Eclipse on OS X

    What is the procedure to setup Google Test to work under Eclipse on Mac OS X? I followed the instruction in README to compile and install gtest as framework from XCode. Now I want to use gtest with Eclipse. Currently, it compiles fine but fails during build.   • Moving from ClearCase to Mercurial: your top tips?

    We will soon start replacing ClearCase with Mercurial. I hear this is a good thing. The change model vs. the version model. Wave of the future. I'm prepared to believe this. Still, it kind of frightens me. Hey, it took Joel Spolsky a while to grok the difference and how to get maximum advantage out of Mercurial, so I'm betting I will run into conceptual traps and pitfalls. Does anyone have any real-world "how to grok Mercurial" tips? Anything specific suggestions that will help me bridge the conceptual gap. Any warnings about things not to do? I'd appreciate hearing them. I've already read the closest questions on SO related to this topic, as well as the Mercurial tour and a number of other blogs. I'm mainly interested in any gotchas or uh-ohs I may encounter. Any wisdom you can impart will be appreciated.

  • Audio recording error kAudioQueueErr_CannotStart on iPhone OS 3.0

    I'm working on a couple different iphone apps that both record and play sounds concurrently. Think multitrack mixing... play one sound a save it then listen to that sound while recording the next sound to another file. My mechanism for this has been to start up two different audio queues, one for recording, and one for playing. This was working A-OK until the release of OS 3.0... Since then, however, the following happens: If I start the recording queue first, it supposedly starts fine, but the call to AudioQueueStart for the playback queue returns kAudioQueueErr_CannotStart. If I start the playback queue first, it also supposedly starts fine, but the call to AudioQueueStart for the record queue returns the same error, kAudioQueueErr_CannotStart. Anyone have any luck debugging this error? Seems like maybe the two queues are stomping on each other's memory or something? The official description is: "The audio queue has encountered a problem and cannot start." Not super helpful... Jeremy

  • Hitting the Done button does not dismiss the View of a MPMoviePlayerController on OS 4.0 beta

    Hi All Hope someone can help me on this, on the old OS version 3.0 and down , hitting the done button one playing a Video would automatically dismiss the view, but now since we have to control the view appearance, hitting the Done just stops the movie but does not dismiss the view, I tried to check if it was linked to any notification and found that each time the Done button was hit, MPMoviePlayerPlaybackStateDidChangeNotification is triggered the problem is that the same notification is received for any change of state pausing /playing... so dismissing the view when MPMoviePlayerPlaybackStateDidChangeNotification is triggered is not an option. does anyone have an answer for this problem Thx for your help

  • Installing Eclipse and setting up Android ADT on OS X v10.6 Snow Leopard

    Hi, I am trying to install Eclipse Galileo on my MacBook running OS X v10.6 (Snow Leopard) and set it up with ADT plugin. I downloaded 64-bit cocoa version of "Eclipse Galileo for JEE developers" and ADT v0.9.6 from the respective offical sites. When I try to add this new plugin-archive in Eclipse, I get the following error: Cannot complete the install because one or more required items could not be found ....missing requirement: ADT requires 'org.eclipse.wst.sse.core 0.0.0' but it could not be found. AFAIK, one gets this error when a required Eclipse-plugin is missing. I checked the official site and saw that wst-plugin is actually bundled with "Eclipse for J2EE developers" download package. Not sure what I am missing here. Please help. Thanks!

  • Concerting an iTunes iphone OS 4.0 backup to 3.2

    Hello ! I use my 4.0 iPhone for both work and personal stuff. So iTunes keeps, every time I sync my iPhone, a backup in ~/Library/Application Support/MobileSync/Backup. I recently bought an iPad (OS 3.2). I'd like to be able to duplicate my iPhone backup, and restore it on the iPad (so I'll have all my apps settings, passwords, application positions, etc... from the iPhone on the iPad) So, I need to convert the backup from 4.0 to 3.2. I know this is not officially supported by Apple, but has any of you guys figured that out ? There are 5 easily editable files in the backup folder : Info.plist Manifest.mbdb Manifest.mbdx Manifest.plist Status.plist Thanks !

  • Hosted Mac OS X/iPhone development

    I want to try my hand at developing for the iPhone but I don't have an Intel-based Mac available to me; likewise, my budget doesn't include provisions for getting one anytime soon. I've tried messing around with winchain and that hasn't gone too well. I'm not interested in jail-breaking my phone and installing other tools for developing. I've read posts on using older macs with the development tool-kit but haven't tried it yet. In the end I just want to know I can compile without doing a ton of extra work or finding work-arounds. I don't mind only having access to a CLI compiler. Does anyone know of a hosting service that provides a shell access account on Intel-based Mac OS X machines?

    Hi, I've tried to user HandVU with OpenCV but when I tried to run "hvOpenCV config/default.conductor" I get a "Segmentation fault". Anybody know this problem? macbook:handvu-beta3 User$ hvOpenCV config/default.conductor will load conductor from file: config/default.conductor Segmentation fault I installed OpenCV through http://opencv.willowgarage.com/wiki/Mac_OS_X_OpenCV_Port on Mac OS X 10.6.3, and HandVU through http://www.movesinstitute.org/~kolsch/HandVu/doc/InstallationLinux.html#source I think it's a problem with opencv, because if I'm trying to run the peopledetect example, I get a segmentation fault too. macbook:c User$ ./peopledetect pic1.png Segmentation fault And if I try to run the facedetect sample I get an error too: macbook:c User$ ./facedetect --cascade="../../haarcascades/haarcascade_frontalface_alt.xml" Xlib: extension "RANDR" missing on display "/tmp/launch-WUMho1/org.x:0".
