  I have a form created to pull PHP values into my database. I created the form with all type="text" constructions. • full-text property change on column

  Hello, i'm trying to modify a property of a column (in sql server 2008 r2) which is of xml data type. I want set (Is full-text indexed) to yes, but after I do this and try to save changes, i get an error: 'Abc' table - Unable to modify table. Column: B is not full-text searchable. Column B is not the column I'm modyfing, but it's content is based on the modified xml column (it takes a value from one element in xml). Weird thing is that column B is full-text indexed (in table designer). Any ideas why i cannot apply changes to the xml column?

• Large strings: Text files or SQL DB?

  I am coding a forum system using PHP. I am currently storing a threads ID, title, author, views and other attributes in an SQL database and then storing the thread body (the HTML and BBcode) in text files inside a folder named after the thread ID. In practise it's really simple to grab the database values then just grab the thread body from the text file, but I was wondering if this is the 'proper way'? I have personally no problems doing this but if it turns out it is massively inefficient and I should instead store both the thread body HTML and BBcode in the database instead then I will change. However, to me it seems wrong to store such a (very possibly) huge string of multi-line text along with lots of different characters in a database - I was taught that databases are more for short field 'values' rather than website content. I would just like a definitive answer to this because it's been bugging me for ages as to wherever I’ve been doing it properly. Does anyone know how popular forum systems store threads?

What i currently have works great for a DateTimePicker however im wanting to now use a label to display the date rather than a DateTimePicker.   I am using jQuery 1.8.3 and jQuery UI 1.9.2. My web application has got some draggable elements and I would like to allow the user to select some text in the contained elements. I've seen there are some other questions on this topic. Another path I am following is use the right-click of the mouse and use some text-selection plug-in I have found. Still I can't make it work. It seems that draggable/sortable elements don't allow text selection or can intercept mouse (clicks) events. Any ideas? Regards.

• Increase content size of UIWebView using Javascript

  Hi folks, I have a translucent toolbar over the bottom of my UIWebView. The trouble is, if there is a link at the bottom of the page, I can't press it because the webview will always bounce back down to the bottom. I don't want to shrink the webview and use a solid colour toolbar, and UIWebViews interface doesn't open much up. What I would like to do, ideally, is to actually increase the size of the web page by one toolbar height, so that I can scroll that extra bit and have all the content above the toolbar, but when scrolling down I will be able to see the page content through the toolbar. I could use the stringByEvaluatingJavaScriptFromString: function of UIWebView. I'm very rusty on JavaScript- is it possible for me to do this? Increase the window height or something? I tried: [webView stringByEvaluatingJavaScriptFromString: [NSString stringWithFormat:@"window.resizeBy(0,%d);", TOOLBAR_HEIGHT] ]; but it didn't do anything. Any pointers welcome. Thanks.

  Hey, folks. I'm looking for some regular expressions to help grab street addresses and phone numbers from free-form text (a la Gmail). Given some text: "John, I went to the store today, and it was awesome! Did you hear that they moved to 500 Green St.? ... Give me a call at +14252425424 when you get a chance." I'd like to be able to pull out: 500 Green St. (recognized as a street address) +14252425424 (recognized as a phone number) What makes this problem easier is that I don't care about parsing text that gets pulled out. That is, I don't care that Green is the name of the road or that 425 is the area code. I just want to grab strings that "look like" addresses or telephone numbers. Unfortunately, this needs to work internationally, as best as possible. Anyone have any leads? Thanks!

• Force screen size when testing embedded DOS app in Windows 7 command window

  I'm doing some embedded DOS development with OpenWatcom (great Windows-hosted compiler for targeting 16-bit DOS applications). The target hardware has a 24x16 character screen (that supposedly emulates CGA to some degree), and I'm trying to get the CMD.EXE window on my Windows 7 machine to stay at a fixed 24x16 without any scroll bars. I've used both the window properties and MODE CON: COLS=24 LINES=16 to get the screen size that I wanted, but as soon as my application uses an INT10 BIOS calls to clear the screen, the mode jumps back to 80x24. Here's what I'm using to clear the screen: void cls(void) { // Clear screen and reset cursor position to (0,0) union REGS regs; regs.w.cx = 0; // Upper left regs.w.dx = 0x1018; // Lower right (of 16x24) regs.h.bh = 7; // Blank lines attribute (white text on black) regs.w.ax = 0x0600; // 06 = scroll up, AL=00 to clear int86( 0x10, &regs, &regs ); } Any ideas? I can still do my testing at 80x24 (or 80x25), but it doesn't entirely behave like the 24x16 mode.

• Images won't load if they are of high size

  I have created web-application using JSF 2.0 and mysql. I am storing images in DB using MEDIUMBLOB. When I try to load image, I am able to see those images. However if the image size is big (1 MB or more), I can see half or 3/4th image on the browser. Any idea how to overcome this issue? Do I need to set any variable in JSF or MySQL? I know I should have saved the images over disk instead of DB, however this was client requirement. Client wanted to backup data and provide it to someone else and client don't want to backup DB and images also. Edit 1 Do I need to set any variables on mysql like query_cache. • Swing: Programmatically select a text

  Hey everyone, I have a very simple Swing GUI with just a JTetxtArea. I am trying to programmatically select a part of text using: textArea.select(startSelection,endSelection); This work. However as soon as I add some other components to the GUI I do not see selection anymore frame.getContentPane().add(button); frame.getContentPane().add(textArea); textArea.select(startSelection,endSelection); I suspect that during layouting the gui, some event causes the text to be deselected. Am I right? And could anybody suggest a solution? My goal is to have a program which displays a text, and allows the user to input start and end selection position, and a selection appears between these two position. Thank you.

  I want to be able to determine the number of bytes that are in a subset of a parameter pack from 0 to a given index. Right now I'm using a non-constexpr way of doing this.   Hi, I had created a web part on MOSS 2007 which displays a organizational chart by searching (Full Text) the user profiles. To identify the subordinates of a user, I used to search for users with the particular user in Manager property. The query looked like this: SELECT AccountName, PreferredName, Manager, WorkEmail FROM scope() WHERE ("SCOPE" = 'People') AND Manager = 'domain\parent_user' But, the same query does not run in SharePoint 2010 as Manager crawled property does not exists. So, I created a new crawled property and mapped it to People:Manager(Text) now, the Manager property is always empty. Even a full crawl after clearing the indexes also not helping. Can anyone please help me in getting manager information in Full Text Search? Thanks in advance!

  I got an error from my code, but I'm not sure where to fix it. Here's the explanation of what my code does: I'm writing some code that will read an input file and store each line as an object (char type) in an array. The first line of the input file is a number. This number tells me how many lines that I should read and store in the array.   I'm using the Twitter API streaming to collect thousand of tweets every minute. They need to be matched to a list of keywords (can contain spaces). This is my current method: $text = preg_replace( '/[^a-z0-9]+/i', ' ', strtolower( $data['text'] ) ); $breakout = explode( " ", $text ); $result = array_intersect( $this->_currentTracks, $breakout ); I chop the tweet into words, and the matches them against my current keywords. This works well for all the keywords without a space ofc. If I wanted to find for example "Den Haag", It won't show up, because the string is exploded into words (based on the spaces). Any ideas about how I can do this in a quick way? Kind regards, Tim
