  I am implement an application based on the MapKit using iphone sdk.I just now a method to get the event when we drag, zoom in/out on the map. • Any active Bold for Delphi users ?

  What are you using as a persistance framework when programming in Delphi? If the application is growing it soon became really complicated to handle the model in SQL ? Bold is a persistance framework for Delphi win32 that really deserve more attention. I use it daily and using OCL instead of SQL to get data from the database saves a lot of time and debugging. When the model is changed Bold translate this to an SQL script and change the database. EDIT: For those that are interested in Bold for Delphi I have spend this evening on create a site on Google about it. I'm not a guru in html so the design is maybe not so exciting. • ncurses - expect: sleep executes at wrong time

  I have some ncurses apps that I need to automate to test repeatedly. I am placing the "sleep" command between "send" commands. However, what i see is that all the sleep's are executed in the beginning before the screen loads. expect concatenates the sends (I see that at the screen bottom during sleep) then issues them together. I have tried sending all keys with "send -s" or "send -h". That marginally helps. I've replaced "-f" on line 1 with "-b" - again a tiny difference. Why isn't "sleep" pausing at the right time. Incidentally, my programs have a getc() loop, so i can't use "expect" command. • Scroll bar issue in google chrome

  I have the following html structure <div style="overflow:auto;position:relative"> <div style="position:absolute; top:0;bottom:0;padding-top:30px"> </div> </div> When the inner div expands the outer bar gets its scroll bars. But the scroll bars appear on top of the inner div (blocking its contents). Works fine in firefox and IE. I need the inner div to be positioned absolutely. Someone help please..

  Hi , I have some activities in my project like, Alerts,HomePage , Calculator etc. What i want to accomplish is to create tabs for all these activities and insert images for these. When we touch the tab the corresponding activity must load. I have done it using the menu options. But i must accomplish this using tabs. The tabs must also be at the bottom of the page... Something like this... Can anyone guide through the process...??? Should i create another class Tabs.java and tabs.xml or should i write tab host for each activity...??? • Errors/Warnings/Debug Info no longer appears in Debug Console

  Hi Guys: This one is driving me crazy. When I run my App and open the Debug Console there is nothing there! Nope, not even the output from my NSLog statements. Before I would see a bunch of debug information starting with [Session Started ...] and ending with 'Terminating in response to SpringBoard's termination'. The Status Bar at the bottom of the Console says my App was successfully launched. Even Errors and Warnings from my code no longer appear. How do I get this to show up again? Any help would be greatly appreciated.

• How to change the icon in the title bar in R?

  I just installed R 2.11.0-x64 onto my Windows 7 Professional machine. With my previous installations of R (2.10.1 32 bit was the most recent) the little icon that appeared in the title bar and in the taskbar at the bottom of windows was the R "R." Now however, the icon almost looks like a small windows Task Manager. I know this isn't a code issue, but it affects me as I flip between windows. Is there a way to put the "R" icon back in there? Would it be an R setting or a Windows setting?

• Linux Kernel - Adding field to task_struct

  I'm playing around with the linux kernel and added a struct field to the task_struct in sched.h. I know that can be costly but my struct is very small. I then initialize the new struct in INIT_TASK() and also re-initialize in fork.c copy_process() function so that when the INIT task or any other task creates a new process the process gets the init values. What then happens is when I try to run the kernel I get a SEGFAULT. The gdb error is: Locating the bottom of the address space ... Program received signal SIGSEGV, Segmentation fault. 0x08066ad7 in page_ok (page=) at arch/um/os-Linux/sys-i386/task_size.c:31 31 n = *address; It looks like it fails out in task_size. Is there anything else I need to do to add a field to task_struct?

  In the Google Maps application, when you open the menu and click on "Directions", it pops up a dialog that is unique to Google Maps. It keeps the MapView in the background, but displays the search dialog from the top (or bottom, if you're on an old version of Android). I was curious if anyone knew how they achieved this effect. I'm willing to create a custom Dialog, but it seems that Dialogs are designed to pop into the middle of the screen (any other types of dialogs are denied permission as system dialogs). What trick is Google Maps using?

  During Flex programming, I recently ran into several questions (about box models, ways to join lines and misaligning pixels [on doctype]) regarding computer graphics and layout, where I felt that I lacked some basic background on things like concepts like the box model approaches mapping real numbers to a pixel raster (like font anti-aliasing) conventions found across drawing engines, like do you count y coordinates from top or bottom, and why I feel that reading some basic Wikipedia articles, books or tutorials on these subjects might help in phrasing my questions more specifically and debugging my code more systematically. I have repeatedly found myself writing tiny test apps in Flex, just to find out how the APIs do very basic stuff. My assumption would be that if I knew the right vocabulary and some general concepts, I could solve these questions much faster.

• Chrome vs Safari - CSS the mystery pixel

  I have an issue of the mysterious pixel in CSS. Site in question: http://www.lymphcareri.com/about/ The idea is that under the menu is a line, which gets highlighted upon hover and blends in with the line under the header. However, Safari and Chrome both interpret the CSS different in such a way, that I cannot get those lines to line up in both browsers (no pun intended). It is either on the mark, or off. Chrome shaves off one pixel on the bottom margin of the nav link, making the line appear just above. Any idea why that is?

• How do I stop the scriptaculous blind-down effect from flickering when element has padding?

  Hi all, it seems that when the blind down effect is used on an element with padding it looks a bit awkward. It seems to blind down too far and then jumps back. It's a very subtle thing but is really annoying. • Delphi 7 - Why does Windows 7 change encoding of characters in runtime?

  I have a delphi 7 form: and my code: when I run this form in Windows 7, I see: In design time, form had polish letters in first label, but it doesn't have them in runtime. It looks ok on Vista or Windows XP. When I set caption of second label in code, everything works fine and characters are properly encoded. First 5 codes of top label on Windows 7: 65 97 69 101 83 First 5 codes of top label on Windows Vista/XP: 165 185 202 234 140 First 5 codes of bottom label on every system: 165 185 202 234 140 Windows 7 changes encoding, why? My system settings seem to be ok. I have proper language set for non-unicode applications in control panel.

• Javascript code in ASP.NET MVC Partial Views (ASCX) or not?

  Is there a "best practice" for placing Javascript code when you have many partial views and JS code that's specific to them? I feel like I'm creating a maintenance nightmare by having many partial views and then a bunch of independent Javascript files for them which need to be synced up when there is a partial view change. It appears, for maintenance purposes, better to me to put the JS code with the partial view. But then I'm violating generally accepted practices that all JS code should be at the bottom of the page and not mixed in, and also I'd end up with multiple references to the same JS file (as I'd include a reference in each ASCX for intellisense purposes). Does anyone have a better idea? Thank you!

• Opinions on platform game actor/background collision resolving

  Imagine the following scenario: I have a level whose physical structure is built up from a collection of bounding rectangles, combined with prerendered bitmap backgrounds. My actors, including the player character, all have their own bounding rectangle. If an actor manages to get stuck inside a level block, partially or otherwise, it'll need to be shifted out again, so that it is flush against the block. The untested technique I thought up during bio break is as follows: If an actor's box is found to intersect a level box, determine where the centerpoints of each rect are. If the actor's center is higher than the level box's, move the actor so that the bottom of the actor's rect is flush with the top of the level's rect, and vice versa if it's lower. Then do a similar thing horizontally. Opinions on that? Suggestions on better methods? Actually, the bounding rects are XNA BoundingBlocks with their Z spanning from -1 to 1, but it's still 2D gameplay.

• Problems after adding Control dynamically on Panel

  Hello, I have added an View List onto a Panel like that: panelComponent.Controls.Add(viewListComponent); Everthing works just fine. Mouse Events are handled, Repaint works. But one: I cant dynamically move it around. If i change the control.Top Variablen it just sit there and nothing. Its clued to the top left corner. Resizing the right and bottom line works just fine! I did it without dynamically adding and than no Problem. Hope you can help. Thomas

• Static footer, with attached and scaling overlap

  I have been asked by a client to create a site where the content area overlaps the footer. However they also want the footer to be attached to the bottom of the viewport, which I've done, but it seems that I can't find a good way to vertically stretch the content to maintain the overlap should the browser be resized. I've created a diagram to help explain, http://www.squaresphere.co.uk/images/footer-diagram.png So ideally I need a way of calculating the height of the content and stretching the content div if content_length viewport.height, but keep a min-height if content_length < viewport.height A solution using html+css would be fantastic, but I'm starting to think that I'm going to have to do some funky jQuery onviewportresize or something Any suggestions would be awesome, thanks!

  I was testing my website inside the Android emulator with the Droid Skin (240 dpi). I have the following css: #container { position: relative; width: 854px; height: 480px; background: #000; margin: auto; } #container li { position: relative; list-style: none; width: 201px; height: 110px; padding-left: 10px; padding-top:10px; padding-bottom:10px; overflow: hidden; float: left; z-index: 2; } The display is not what I expected obviously because I am defining everything in px (when I should have been using dip but css does not allow dip). How can I convert my px to something that is suitable for Android? Any suggestions?

• Create a hyperlink of a slanting image in expression Blend

  I am developing a navigation menu in silverlight that has 6 images. As you mouseover each image grows and clicking on an image will take you to a page on the website. The customer I am doing this for decided that straight rectangular images were boring and I showed him a design where I have slanted each image so each one is now a rhomboid shape. Horizontal top and bottom with sides slanting about 30deg from vertical. I have been unable to figure out any way of growing each image on mouseover without putting a white block over the adjacent images. Would be grateful for any pointers.

• audio error in vmware running mac os x

  simple synchronous loading of an audio file (.mp3) in a cocos2d app makes my vmware disconnect the sound. the error is display bottom right, saying 'error in creating sound stream; sound is disconnected' i read that it might be cause of my vmware's version (mine is 8) but I'm looking for a fix, not to downgrade to another version. before i get that error, the sound on the system works just fine (youtube, etc) the exact code im calling is.. • any way to use ajax with jstl customtags without duplicating tags in javascript?

  I am working on a page where part of the content is loaded normally and the pages are rendered using jsps. The product images and links generated on that page are by custom jstl tags. When the user scrolls more products are requested from the server in a JSON response and then using UnderscoreJS templates they are rendered and added to the bottom of the page. Is there any way I can use the JSTL tags in Javascript without recreating them using a javascript function (it won't be possible to re-create all of them in javascript). What is the best way to handle this scenario? I guess I could return a rendered html response for the ajax call, but that would mean I have some ajax requests which use json and some that use rendered html...

  Not quite sure how descriptive that title was but this is what I want to do. I scripted a URL shortener today and it's working fine, I just want to add some stats on the bottom of it saying how many links there are and how many clicks there are. Now everytime a user clicks one of the links it +1 the column in the database then it redirects the user. I want to query that and add all of those numbers together from each row. I attempted a while loop which im not surprised didn't work: while($rows = mysql_fetch_assoc($check_count)){ $clicks = $rows['clicks']; $clicks = $clicks+$clicks; } If you don't understand please ask and if you do understand it means alot for any response!

My only problem is I want the new record at the TOP of the list, not the bottom. Is there an elegant and easy way to do this, or am I going to have to do the new element separately, or loop through the list manually?
