• Flash Overlapping HTML. CSS Problem In IE??

    - by Jascha
HELP, this is a very unique problem and I can't for the life of me figure it out. My flash content is overlapping the HTML above it. This only happens if I've just launched IE after being restarted and goes away once I refresh the page. I even added a jQuery $(document).ready function that sets a margin between the html and the flash content to add 1px of space when the page is loaded. It's so hard to figure out, because once I refresh the page, it goes away. Any input GREATLY appreciated. Here is the site. http://www.californiaremodels.com (This only happens in IE) here is a screen shot of the problem.

  • What's the difference between the box-model bug and the new box-sizing CSS?

    - by RKS
In days (long past for some, and still present for others) the box-model bug was a bane to their existence. The idea that an element's width included the margin, border, and padding was blasphemous and an abomination to their senses. So we got away from it after thousands of internet blogs about the box-model hack. Now we get box-sizing, which will, wait for it, allow you to specify that a width contains the border, the margin, and the padding. We plaster a trendy new name for it, "CSS3 Flexbox," and now it's the freedom designers have been looking for. For those logical people who saw the box-model bug as not the bug and the W3C as the actual bug, this comes as a surprise. A reintroduction of this so-called bug and now we call it an enhancement? So can someone explain why this is different? I am honestly confused about this.

  • Does pngfix only affect images in the markup vs in the css?

    - by Peter
I have a sprite that I'm using for rounded corners. The left corner sits on top of a gradient background, but the right corner sits on a white background. I don't want to have to put the images on the page as I'd rather have them in a sprite and just move the placement through the background property. Will something like pngfix not work if the png is not in the markup?

  • HTML, CSS: how can I merge these divs in order to use float:left property on their children ?

    - by Patrick
hi, I've 2 sets of thumbnails and in each set I'm displaying them one nearby each other in 4 columns using float:left. I would like to "merge" the 2 sets (but I cannot change the html code) because I want the thumbnails of the second set floating right after the last thumbnail of the first set. In other terms, if in the last row there are only 2 thumbnails and the last 2 columns are empty, the thumbnails of the second set should fill the empty columns of the last row of the first set. This is the code...

How can I merge these divs in order to use float:left property on their children ? thanks

  • Html, table, img & css - how to get text to wrap correctly?

    - by Michael Pasqualone
I've got the following code; however it's not given me the desired result - what I am after is as per the image below, what am I doing wrong?

My text & stuff, overflow??

Icon1

Icon2

Desired result:

  • How to simulate :active css pseudo class in android on non-link elements?

    - by chas s.
I'd like to be able to mimic the behavior of the :active pseudo class on all elements in Android webkit. Currently, the :active syntax only works on a elements (links). Nearly all of the actionable elements in the app I'm working on are something other than a standard link tag. iOS webkit supports :active on all elements. /* works on both android iOS webkit */ a:active { color: blue; } /* works on iOS webkit, does not work on android webkit */ div:active { color: red; } I've found a couple of resources [1,2] that solve similar problems, but they're both a bit heavy, and I'm wondering if there's a lighter weight solution that I'm just not able to find. http://cubiq.org/remove-onclick-delay-on-webkit-for-iphone http://code.google.com/intl/ro-RO/mobile/articles/fast_buttons.html

  • Which CSS identifier is used for the selected tab in tabbed tables in browsers other than IE?

    - by David Navarre
When you have a table on a form in Notes, you can choose to display only one row at a time (via the Special Table Row Display parameter on the Table Rows tab of the Table properties). In a Notes document displayed using Internet Explorer that contains such a table, a row is displayed with a cell for each "tab". The TD that serves as the tab for the selected "Notes table row" is assigned
, while the other tabs get
. However, when using other browsers, it's not nearly as simple. In Firefox, each "tab" ends up as a single-celled-single-row-table within the table with very little to identify it.

Tab 2

A non-selected tab would show as follows:

Tab 1

So, the question is, how do I identify the selected tabs and the non-selected tabs when not using IE? Note: For those who are not Notes developers, the HTML is auto-generated from the visual design as laid out in the Notes designer client. I would replace it all with manual HTML, except there is so much of it that doing so would consume far too much time.
