  • Jenkins and Visual Studio Online integration authentication

    right now I am trying to Setup Continuouse Integration - Delivery for a basic WCF Service, which will be hosted on a Microsoft Azure VM. The Project is Version Controlled through Visual Studio Online. So I installed Jenkins (also on the Azure VM), TFS plugin etc. and started the first Test Build: As Server URL I used "[VSO Adress]/DefaultCollection" and for Login purposes my Microsoft Account (I can Access VSO with that).   • Using IAM for user authentication

    I've read lots and lots of posts that touch on what I think should be a very common use case - but without finding exactly what I want, or a simple reason why it can't be done. I have some files on S3. I want to be able to grant certain users access to certain files, via a front end that I build. So far, I've made it work this way: I built the front end in Django, using it's built-in Users and Groups I have a model for Buckets, in which I mirror my S3 buckets. I have a m2m relationship from groups to buckets representing the S3 permissions. The user logs in and authenticates against Django's users. I grab from Django the list of buckets that the user is allowed to see I use boto to grab a list of links to files from those buckets and display to user. This works, but isn't ideal, and also just doesn't feel right. I've got to keep a mirror of the buckets, and I also have to maintain my own list of user/passwords and permissions, when AWS already has all that built in. What I really want is to simply create the users in IAM and use group permissions in IAM to control access to the S3 buckets. No duplication of data or function. My app would request a UN/PW from the user and use that to connect to IAM/S3 to pull the list of buckets and files, then display links to the user. Simple. How can I, or why can't I? Am I looking at this the wrong way? What's the "right" way to address this (I assume) very common use case?

  • Make Trac use a Drupal user database for authentication

    I am trying to set up a Trac instance as a complement to a Drupal site and would like to give users the possibility to use their Drupal account in Trac, too, ideally in a single sign-on fashion (if the user is already logged into Drupal, he is automatically logged into Trac). The question now is how to accomplish this. I have found a plugin named DrupalIntegration which seems to implement that functionality; however, it is poorly documented - in fact, not documented at all. I managed to install it, but don't know how to configure it. Here is what I came up with from looking at the source code and the documentation of the AccountManager plugin (on which DrupalIntegration depends): [components] trac.web.auth.loginmodule = disabled acct_mgr.api = enabled acct_mgr.web_ui.LoginModule = enabled acct_mgr.web_ui.RegistrationModule = disabled TracDrupalIntegration.DrupalIntegration = enabled [account-manager] drupal_database = mysql://<usernam>:<password>@localhost/<db> password_store = DrupalIntegration (<username>, <password> and <db> are naturally substituted with the correct data). Has someone used the DrupalIntegration and can point out to me what I did wrong? Or is there any other approach you know (or even have used in the past) to integrate Drupal and Trac that way?

    Hi All, At the moment, when I try to register a user using the default Business Template in Silverlight, I am getting an error. Basically I am following a tutorial found on Channel 9 on how to build a business app with Silverlight. "An error has occurred while establishing a connection to the server. (provider: Named Pipes Provider, error: 40 – Could not open a connection to SQL Server) (Microsoft SQL Server, Error: 5) An error has occurred while establishing a connection to the server. When connecting to SQL Server 2005, this failure may be caused by the fact that under the default settings SQL Server does not allow remote connections. (provider: Named Pipes Provider, error: 40 – Could not open a connection to SQL Server) (Microsoft SQL Server, Error: 1326)". I found a blog where it identifies the problem, and followed every step, however I am still getting the same problems.   • Android programming: Authentication and data exchange with Java EE

    I am having a Java application running in a Tomcat server using Spring, Hibernate, etc. and a two web interfaces, one implemented in Tapestry 5 and the other one using Flex with BlazeDS and Spring-BlazeDS. In my first android application I would now like to log in to the server and retrieve some data. I´m wondering how I could achieve this in a secure way. First of all I need to know which technology is the best to retrieve data from the server and how can I restrict the access to users only that have been successfully authenticated. With what I read until now I would try to implement a HTTPServlet on the server and make server calls via HTTP Client. In the servlet I could probably use the HTTPSession to check if the request comes from an authenticated user. And the data I would try to send serialized (JSON). Unfortunately, I´ve never done those things and maybe I´m on the wrong way and there are more comfortable solutions.

Am I correct in my assumptions that you can't retrieve the private key from a CAC card, and am therefore stuck using a PKCS #11 Wrapper like PyKCS? Any tips or resources for going about this?

    How do i run ssh-add key sudo hg clone [email protected]/etc/etc but use my ssh keys and not the superusers. Hey everyone, when i use sudo with for example, sudo hg clone [email protected]/etc/etc after i have added a key to my user account it doesnt work. I remember this is because the sudo is ran as the superuser but that user cannot have keys added to it. I remember setting some directive (im using debian) that allowed me to run that command as sudo, but still have my ssh keys taken from my normal user account but i didnt make a note of it at the time. Of them are: Using jCrop and rMagick, it takes up a huge amount of processing ( to which I have backgrounded ). Because I have it backgrounded, I must by ajax develop a feature that auto-updates every five seconds to check when the backgrounding is done. Has anyone accomplished this with their sites? If so, what are some creative techniques you came across to keep the processing streamline, and the users happy?

Update I get HOSTNAME and SSH_PASSWORD. I never log in on that machine before. I need to send some files (probably using scp) and then log in using ssh and work on that HOST interactively.     i have a web portal running which involves basic data entry. The issue being that this is highly sensitive data. And the credibility of the data entry personel is very low. Therefore i have implemented recording of IP when an entry is made. The Problem i am facing is if this if this person starts forwarding his IP from a proxy server then i am unable to track authenticity of the data. How do i detect if the IP forwarding is happening/ get the real ip address of the person.
