    Hello everyone, im stucked configuring openvpn to build a multi vpn connection. like this: CLIENT - VPN1 - VPN2 - INTERNET Well, i already have and know how to done a normal sigle vpn but want to use a chain of vpns, so i explain what i have done and how i did it. ON VPN1. i have 1 openvpn instance running as server( where client connect to) and another as client connecting to VPN2 running as server. { Here comes the problem } when i connect VPN1 as client of VPN2 i cant connect to VPN1 from CLIENT, my question is HOW TO procced with this... Also have another third instance working as server to use VPN1 without chains. ON VPN2. 1 openvpn instance as server where VPN1 will connect and then forward to the NET. Im using TUN interface on configs. And iptables are on this way: VPN1 - openvpn ip server1 : 192.168.6.0 / ip as client of VPN2: 192.168.5.70 iptables -t nat -A POSTROUTING -s 192.168.6.0 -j SNAT --to-source 192.168.5.70 VPN2 - openvpn ip server2 : 192.168.5.0 iptables -t nat -A POSTROUTING -s 192.168.5.0/24 -j SNAT --to-source EXTERNAL_IP_TO_INTERNET Hope someone help me with this. thanks in advance

  • What's the best way to forward traffic on a specific port to another machine?

    The setup I have is this: [client01] <-A-> [server01] <-B-> [server02] client01 can access port 9300 on server01 (connection A). server01 can access port 9300 on server02 (connection B). What's the best way to make all traffic on port 9300 to server01 go to port 9300 on server02? I can successfully do this with an ssh tunnel from client01 to server01 to server02, but I don't want to have to run ssh on client01. When I ssh from server01 to server02 forwarding port 9300 (ssh -g -L9300:localhost:9300 server02 on server01), it doesn't work -- am I using the wrong command?

  • Remote desktop into a linux machine, is this possible?

    I have a VPS by my host running on a linux server, and they have given me SSH access. Is it possible to remote desktop into the server, like you can on Windows, so that I can physcially click on things rather than having to use SSH commands? Surely this must be running on Fedora or Ubuntu etc. so there is some type of OS. You would probably have to install something on the servers end I suppose but just want to know if its possible and what the options are. And before you say "why not ask your host" I find superuser responses are usually much quicker :-)

  • how to throttle http requests on a linux machine?

    EDIT: here is the summery: i need to reduce max connections preferably system wide on Ubuntu 11.04 but at least within Google Chrome. i do not need or want to throttle bandwidth, Verizon seems to only care about the number of connections so that is all i want to change. also, i don't want to use firefox unless i have to, i have three other machines all using chrome and synced and i just prefer it over firefox. i use tethering for my home internet connection via my verizon cell phone. without paying for it. this works just fine for streaming netflix via my nintendo wii and pretty much every other conceivable use ive had for it. except, during heavy usage with multiple tabs open on my laptop, the network connection on my phone will just turn off, then on again, then off, but it never fully connects. i think, based on this and other questions that this is caused by verizon getting too many http requests from my phone. is there some software, script, setting or otherwise that would allow me to throttle my requests to say, 5 or 10 or whatever it turns out is 1 less than verizon is looking for, so that my cell's network connection is not lost? i would far prefer a slow down rather than complete shut off of my internet connection. i am almost certain is from quantity of requests and not related to data, because, as i mentioned, netflix will run all day without a hitch, and that uses more data than anything else i would be doing. if i had a router i am pretty sure there are settings i could easily change to only allow so many requests at a time ... but in this case, my phone is my router, so no settings. im using ubuntu 11.04 on my netbook with an htc incredible on verizon (not that the phone details are relevant) i have been trying to figure this out for quite some time, currently the only fix is ensure that all requests are stopped and then sometimes it works again, other times i have to manually turn my 3g service off and then back on. thank you so much for any assistance!

  • How do I launch unicorn_rails as a startup script with rvm installed on my ubuntu 12.04 machine?

    I have a rails app on my server. I have a script startup.sh which launches unicorn_rails and then nginx. In order to get my server to launch on system boot, I've added a line to call my startup script to /etc/rc.local However, this doesn't work. I added some checks to make sure the script is being called and it is. It's the call to unicorn_rails which I think is failing. Does anyone have experience with this?

  • What's the best approach when it comes to updating a production(on ec2) machine that can't go down?

I logged in today to find: 77 packages can be updated. 45 updates are security updates. which scares the crap out of me so I want to update these machines asap but I'm scared to just run the updates on a live running system. Is this safe to do, what's the best approach when it comes to doing security updates on production machines?

  • Apache mod_proxy_ajp and tomcat7 (TomEE). Telnet 8009 from localhost works, but from other machine connection refused

    In my tomcat config, I have the following: <!-- Define an AJP 1.3 Connector on port 8009 --> <Connector port="8009" protocol="AJP/1.3" redirectPort="8443" /> Once I start tomcat, on that same box, I can telnet localhost 8009 and get a connection. However, on the load balancer, I cannot telnet to that port. I've disabled the firewalls on both boxes. I'm able to connect on port 8080. What gives???

  • SignalR - No connection could be made because the target machine actively refused it?

    Trying to create a Console application that is going to send data to a website. The website is built with Codeiginter framework, if that matters. When i'm running my Console application, i get the error that a connection could not be made, and that the machine refused it. Been watching some tutorials, but most of them are using Hubs etc, which imo i do not need for this simple task?. All i want to do is to send data to the website, one way.   • iPad UISplitView initial state in portrait: how to display popover controller widget?

    Hi, I'm working on an iPad app that uses a UISplitView. Inspired by http://blog.blackwhale.at/2010/04/your-first-ipad-split-view-application/, I display a button in my detail view when in portrait mode that shows the popover controller. This works great. However, the appropriate UISplitViewControllerDelegate message is only sent when the device rotates. So, when the app first loads (in portrait mode), my navigation button is not visible. Is it possible to somehow convince the UISplitViewController to send that message on load or something, or do I need to re-implement my own popover logic to get things working? Thanks, -Patrick

  • Can the public ssh key from my local machine be used to access two different users on a remote serve

    I have an new ubuntu (hardy 8.04) server, it has two users, User1 and User2. User1 is listed in sudoers. I appended my public ssh key (my local machine's public key local/Users/nick/.ssh/id_rsa.pub) to authorized_keys in remote_server/home/user1/.ssh/authorized_keys, changed the permissions on user1/.ssh/ to 700 and user1/.ssh/authorized_keys to 600 and both file and folder are owned my User1. Then added I User1 to sshd_config (AllowUsers User1). This works and I can login into User1 debug1: Offering public key: /Users/nick/.ssh/id_rsa debug1: Server accepts key: pkalg ssh-rsa blen 277 debug1: Authentication succeeded (publickey). debug1: channel 0: new [client-session] debug1: Entering interactive session. Last login: Mon Mar 15 09:51:01 2010 from ..*.* I then copied the authorized_keys file remote_server/home/user1/.ssh/authorized_keys to remote_server/home/user2/.shh/authorized_keys and changed the permissions and ownership and added User2 to AllowUsers in sshd_config (AllowUsers User1 User2). Now when I try to login to User2 it will not authenticate the same public key. debug1: Offering public key: /Users/nick/.ssh/id_rsa debug1: Authentications that can continue: publickey debug1: Trying private key: /Users/nick/.ssh/identity debug1: Trying private key: /Users/nick/.ssh/id_dsa debug1: No more authentication methods to try.     One of my tables has a two-column primary key: CREATE TABLE tournament ( state CHAR(2) NOT NULL, year INT NOT NULL, etc..., PRIMARY KEY(state, year) ); I want a reference to the tournament table from another table, but I want this reference to be nullable. Here's how I might do it, imagining that a winner doesn't necessarily have a tournament: CREATE TABLE winner ( name VARCHAR NOT NULL, state CHAR(2) NULL, year INT NULL ); If state is null but year is not, or vice-versa, the table would be inconsistent. I believe the following FOREIGN KEY constraint fixes it: ALTER TABLE winner ADD CONSTRAINT FOREIGN KEY fk (name, state) REFERENCES tournament (name, state); Is this the proper way of enforcing consistency? Is this schema properly normalized?

  • How to deploy on a remote machine using hudson's WAS Builder Plugin?

    I have a hudson build server (Windows) that does not have Websphere installed. I created a Hudson node that I connect to via SSH. I also installed the WAS Builder Plugin to run jython scripts on the AIX machine. The job that uses the WAS Builder Plugin is tied to the AIX box. I run into errors. Does anybody know, whether that setup might work or if a different setup will work for the WAS Builder Plugin?   • AS3 - Unloaded AVM1 swfs trace out as unloaded but memory is not freed for the AVM2 machine

    I have a large project built in as3. Part of its main functionality is to load and unload various as2 swfs. The problem is that the memory ins't free up once they are unloaded. I have access to the as2 swfs code base and destroyed all objects, stopped and killed timers, listeners, removed from stage, destroyed all the MovieClip.protoypes that were created. They look to be clean as far as the AS2 debugger show no remnants of the object after the destroy function is run. In AS3 i've closed the local connection, cleaned all references/listeners to the AVM1Movie and ran Loader.unloadAndStop(). The trace out in flex says the swf was unloaded but looking at windows task manager the memory usage never drops to when it was before the as2 swf was loaded. Each as2 swf can take up to 80 megs each time it's run so memory gets eaten up fast and loading and unloading a few as2 files. At this point if the AS2 swfs are unloaded the only thing that I can assume that could be left is MovieClip.prototype and/or _global, _root variables add during the AS2's run time. But i've gone through those and can't find anything else that might be sticking. Has anyone ever seen problems before with the AVM1 machine not freeing up its memory?

This is what is supposed to happen when everything works Correct all the city, state entries in tblWADonations by creating an update statement that moves the zip city from the joined city/state zip field to the tblWADonations city state TBL NAME | COLUMN NAMES tblZipcodes with zip,city,State tblWADonations with zip,oldcity,oldstate This is what I have so far: UPDATE tblWADonations SET oldCity = tblZipCodes.city, oldState = tblZipCodes.state FROM tblWADonations INNER JOIN tblZipCodes ON tblWADonations.zip = tblZipCodes.zip Where oldCity <> tblZipcodes.city; There seems to be easy ways to do this online but I am overlooking something. Tried this by hand and in editor this is what it kicks back. Msg 8152, Level 16, State 2, Line 1 String or binary data would be truncated. The statement has been terminated. Please include a sql statement or where I need to make the edit so I can mark this post as a reference in my favorites. Thanks!

    Hi everyone, I'm working in Visual Studio 2008 using c#. Let's say I have 2 xsd files e.g "Envelope.xsd" and "Body.xsd" I create 2 sets of classes by running xsd.exe, creating something like "Envelope.cs" and "Body.cs", so far so good. I can't figure out how to link the two classes to serialize (using XmlSerializer) into the proper nested xml, i.e: I want: <Envelope><DocumentTitle>Title</DocumentTitle><Body>Body Info</Body></Envelope> But I get: <Envelope><DocumentTitle>Title</DocumentTitle></Envelope><Body>Body Info</Body> Could someone perhaps show me how the two .cs classes should look to enable XmlSerializer to runt the desired nested result?   • How do I check if a user is authenticated with NickServ using POE::Component::IRC::State in Perl?

    I'm trying to test whether a user is registered on FreeNode. nick_info() doesn't seem to return information about this, so I want to use $irc-yield(whois = $nick); and then grab the irc_whois event's reply. The problem is that I want to wait until this event is fired, so I created a global variable $whois_result and wrote a sub like this: sub whois { my $nick = $_[0]; $whois_result = 0; $irc->yield(whois => $nick); while($whois_result == 0) { } return $whois_result; } with the irc_whois handler looking like: sub on_whois { $whois_result = $_[ARG0]; print "DEBUG: irc_whois fired.\n"; } Unfortunately, the event can't fire while the loop is running so this hangs. I'm sure there's a better way to do this, but I'm not familiar enough with this kind of programming to know. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

When running over 100 lots of 1 seconds worth of data the program takes 35 seconds (or 35%), executing this function in a loop. The test loop is timed specifically with Ada.RealTime.
