  • mysql meeting multiple conditions

    - by Djeux
    I'm having a table, where one ID, can have multiple statuses | client_id | status_id | | 1 | 2 | | 1 | 3 | | 1 | 5 | | 2 | 2 | | 2 | 3 | | 2 | 6 | The problem is, to select only those client_id's if they have all the statuses i.e. 2,3,5 (status_id = 2 AND status_id = 3 AND status_id = 5) but mysql doesn't allow that directly.

  • Can't connect to MySQL database hosted in CloudBees

    - by user3692698
I have a free CloudBees account and created a free ClearDB database using their wizards. My trouble is when I use their connection information (whether I try to connect from my Java app, or an outside tool - SQLyog to be exact) I take the error: Access denied for user 'b51dbc5757d79f'@'%' to database 'mywiki. The username provided by CloudBees does not contain those extra characters that the error message is displaying which seems like it would be a problem, but I'm not sure there is anything I can do about that since everything is configured for me. The username I am given is: b51dbc5757d79f - which I can delete and rebuild after sharing here :)

  • How to kill locked mysql queries

    - by jcure
Hi, I am creating and testing a mysql join query but each time so far it causes the database tables to lockup and the site hangs. I have to then call the host and they kill the locked queries. Is this something I can do from phpmyadmin so not to bother them while I tweak the script to work? Thanks for any reply.

  • mysql changing delimiter

    - by jimsmith
    I'm trying to add this function using php myadmin, first off I get on error line 5, which is apparently because you need to change the delimiter from ; to something else so i tried this DELIMITER | CREATE FUNCTION LEVENSHTEIN (s1 VARCHAR(255), s2 VARCHAR(255)) RETURNS INT DETERMINISTIC BEGIN DECLARE s1_len, s2_len, i, j, c, c_temp, cost INT; DECLARE s1_char CHAR; DECLARE cv0, cv1 VARBINARY(256); SET s1_len = CHAR_LENGTH(s1), s2_len = CHAR_LENGTH(s2), cv1 = 0x00, j = 1, i = 1, c = 0; IF s1 = s2 THEN RETURN 0; ELSEIF s1_len = 0 THEN RETURN s2_len; ELSEIF s2_len = 0 THEN RETURN s1_len; ELSE WHILE j <= s2_len DO SET cv1 = CONCAT(cv1, UNHEX(HEX(j))), j = j + 1; END WHILE; WHILE i <= s1_len DO SET s1_char = SUBSTRING(s1, i, 1), c = i, cv0 = UNHEX(HEX(i)), j = 1; WHILE j <= s2_len DO SET c = c + 1; IF s1_char = SUBSTRING(s2, j, 1) THEN SET cost = 0; ELSE SET cost = 1; END IF; SET c_temp = CONV(HEX(SUBSTRING(cv1, j, 1)), 16, 10) + cost; IF c > c_temp THEN SET c = c_temp; END IF; SET c_temp = CONV(HEX(SUBSTRING(cv1, j+1, 1)), 16, 10) + 1; IF c > c_temp THEN SET c = c_temp; END IF; SET cv0 = CONCAT(cv0, UNHEX(HEX(c))), j = j + 1; END WHILE; SET cv1 = cv0, i = i + 1; END WHILE; END IF; RETURN c; END DELIMITER ; But I get this error: #1064 - You have an error in your SQL syntax; check the manual that corresponds to your MySQL server version for the right syntax to use near 'delimiter | Please help !?

  • Why would restarting MySQL make my site faster?

    - by beagleguy
hey all, my site started dragging lately, the queries taking exceptionally longer than I would expect with properly tuned indexes. I just restarted the mysql server after 31 days uptime and every query is now substantially faster and the whole site renders 3-4 times faster. Would there be anything that jumps out at you as to why this may have been? Improper settings on my.cnf perhaps? Any ideas as to what I can start looking at to try and pinpoint why? thanks

    - by Frederico
I have just implemented the Sphinx Storage Engine, and created my first Sphinx table, I'm trying to convert from using my Fulltext MyISAM table, so I figured I would just dump all the data into a sphinx table.. obviously I was wrong. Are there any great tutorials that really take you through transforming a fulltext search on MySQL to a sphinx table? Thanks in advance.

  • Mysql change column details

    - by Ankur
I am trying to redefine the number of varchars a column can have (in a MySQL db). I am doing alter table obj_details IMG_SRC IMG_SRC varchar(180); I want to change the number of characters that can be used in the column IMG_SRC to 180 (it is currently 100). But I get an error saying that I should check the syntax near IMG_SRC IMG_SRC varchar(180).

  • Always-indexed MySQL indexing/searching replacements for InnoDB?

    - by Chad Johnson
I am using InnoDB for a MySQL table, and obviously queries using LIKE and RLIKE/REGEXP can take a lot of time. I've tried Spinx, and it works great, except I have to re-index context at intervals. I can re-index every minute, but I am wondering if there is either 1) a setting in Sphinx to keep records always indexed or 2) other software besides Sphinx that will keep records always indexed. I want it where that immediately upon inserting or updating a record, the index is updated.

  • PHP & MySQL - saving and looping problems.

    - by R.I.P.coalMINERS
I'm new to PHP and MySQL I want a user to be able to store multiple names and there meanings in a MySQL database tables named names using PHP I will dynamically create form fields with JQuery every time a user clicks on a link so a user can enter 1 to 1,000,000 different names and there meanings which will be stored in a table called names. Since I asked my last question I figured out how to store my values from my form using the for loop but every time I loop my values when I add one or more dynamic fields the second form field named meaning will not save the value entered also my dynamic form fields keep looping doubling, tripling and so on the entered values into the database it all depends on how many form fields are added dynamically. I was wondering how can I fix these problems? On a side note I replaced the query with echo's to see the values that are being entered. Here is the PHP code. <?php if(isset($_POST['submit'])) { $mysqli = mysqli_connect("localhost", "root", "", "site"); $dbc = mysqli_query($mysqli,"SELECT * FROM names WHERE userID='$userID'"); $name = $_POST['name']; $meaning = $_POST['meaning']; if(isset($name['0']) && mysqli_num_rows($dbc) == 0 && trim($name['0'])!=='' && trim($meaning['0'])!=='') { for($n = 0; $n < count($name); $n++) { for($m = 0; $m < count($meaning); $m++) { echo $name[$n] . '<br />'; echo $meaning[$m] . '<br /><br />'; break; } } } } ?> And here is the HTML code. <form method="post" action="index.php"> <ul> <li><label for="name">Name: </label><input type="text" name="name[]" id="name" /></li> <li><label for="meaning">Meaning: </label><input type="text" name="meaning[]" id="meaning" /></li> <li><input type="submit" name="submit" value="Save" /></li> </ul> </form> If needed I will place the JQuery code.

  • How to version control data stored in mysql

    - by Shawn
I'm trying to use a simple mysql database but tweak it so that every field is backed up up to an indefinite number of versions. The best way I can illustrate this is by replacing each and every field of every table with a stack of all the values this field has ever had (each of these values should be timestamped). I guess it's kind of like having customized version control for all my data.. Any ideas on how to do this?

    - by xRobot
My client have created a script in php+mysql that saves images directly in the database and every images has url like this: www.example.com/image.php?id=421 In your opinion this is a very wrong solution ? Should I rebuild all the site ? There are about 1000 visits per day and about 600 images in the database. This is the site: http://tinyurl.com/3xkxdsw

  • Permissions done on MySQL side or PHP side?

    - by Kerry
When I am grabbing data from my table that require permissions, should all the permission be done there? Such as checking for an admin or if they can view the data (in MySQL)? Or should I grab it if they have a record at all, then check the specific actions (such as view, add, edit, delete) on the PHP side?
