    Wondering if anyone know how to automatically send the user an email after he/she fills out a form. I have the form emailed to me after it gets submitted, but I can't figure out how to capture the user's email from the form field and have it send it to them automatically???     Given a 1*N matrix or an array, how do I find the first 4 elements which have the same value and then store the index for those elements? PS: I'm just curious. What if we want to find the first 4 elements whose value differences are within a certain range, say below 2? For example, M=[10,15,14.5,9,15.1,8.5,15.5,9.5], the elements I'm looking for will be 15,14.5,15.1,15.5 and the indices will be 2,3,5,7.

I mean say suppose i have a menu in template, and based on roles menu changes. If the Admin logs in, he will get to show more options and if general user logs in he will get to see less options. Now i have a managed bean for my "real" page(not template). How do i use this managed bean to toggle my control in template on and Off?

    How can I get a specific value from an object? I'm trying to get a value of an instance for eg. ListOfPpl newListOfPpl = new ListOfPpl(id, name, age); Object item = newListOfPpl; How can I get a value of name from an Object item?? Even if it is easy or does not interest you can anyone help me?? Edited: I was trying to build a binary tree contains the node of ListOfPpl, and need to sort it in the lexicographic. Here's my code for insertion on the node.     I'd like to know your opinion on a matter of coding style that I'm on the fence about. I realize there probably isn't a definitive answer, but I'd like to see if there is a strong preference in one direction or the other. I'm going through a solution adding using statements in quite a few places. Often I will come across something like so: { log = new log(); log.SomeProperty = something; // several of these log.Connection = new OracleConnection("..."); log.InsertData(); // this is where log.Connection will be used ... // do other stuff with log, but connection won't be used again } where log.Connection is an OracleConnection, which implements IDisposable. The neatnik in me wants to change it to: { log = new log(); using (OracleConnection connection = new OracleConnection("...")) { log.SomeProperty = something; log.Connection = conn; log.InsertData(); ... } } But the lover of brevity and getting-the-job-done-slightly-faster wants to do: { log = new log(); log.SomeProperty = something; using (log.Connection = new OracleConnection("...")) log.InsertData(); ... } For some reason I feel a bit dirty doing this. Do you consider this bad or not? If you think this is bad, why? If it's good, why?

    I have 2 tables: author with 3 millions of rows. book with 20 miles rows. . So I have benchmarked this query with a join: SELECT BENCHMARK(100000000, 'SELECT book.title, author.name FROM `book` , `author` WHERE book.id = author.book_id ') And this is the result: Query took 0.7438 sec ONLY 0.7438 seconds for 100 millions of query with a join ??? Do I make some mistakes or this is the right result ?

  • Oh no, Not another Undefined Reference Question!

    Unfortunately yes. I have my shared library compiled, the linker doesn't complain about not finding it but still I get undefined reference error. Thinking that I might be doing something wrong I did a little research and found this nice, simple walkthrough: http://www.adp-gmbh.ch/cpp/gcc/create_lib.html which I've followed to the letter but still I get: $ gcc -Wall main.c -o dynamically_linked -L.\ -lmean /tmp/ccZjkkkl.o: In function `main': main.c:(.text+0x42): undefined reference to `mean' collect2: ld returned 1 exit status This is pretty simple stuff so what's going wrong?!?!? Can anyone suggest something in my set up that might need checking/tweeking? GCC 4.3.2 Fedora 10 64-bit

    Hi, I am trying to work out if I need to call close on a fstream object if the intial open failed. i.e. std::fstream strm; strm.open( "filename" ); if( ! strm.fail() ) { // Do something strm.close(); // [1] } strm.close(); // [2] Where should close be called here - should it always be called [2] or only if the open succeeds[1]? I may be going over the top here, but coming from the Windows API way of typically doing this I have CloseHandle( ... ); embedded in my mind :-)

    Why do this work? int *var; while(scanf("%d", &var) && *var != 0) printf("%d \n", var); While this does not? int *var; while(scanf("%d", &var) && var != 0) printf("%d \n", var); Doesn't * (dereference operator) give you the value pointed by the pointer? So why does *var != 0 crash the program, while var != 0 does not?

  • Simple stream read/write question in java

    Hi, I'm trying to upload a file via URLConnection, but i need to read/write it as a binary file without any encoding changes. So i've tried to read byte[] array from FileInputStream, but now i have an issue. The PrintWriter object i use for outputing to the server does not allow me to do writer.write(content) (where content is of type byte[]). How can i fix this? Or is there another way to quickly copy binary data from a FileInputStream to a PrintWriter? Thank you
