    Try the following in the Immediate window: object a1 = "a"; object a2 = "a"; a1==a2 // outputs false and you'll see that a1 == a2 outputs false. However, at runtime in either a window app or console, you'll get true: object t1 = "a"; object t2 = "a"; MessageBox.Show((t1 == t2).ToString()); // outputs true The runtime behavior is consistent with the definition for the == operator and strings. Does anybody know if this a bug in the Immediate window?

  • SELECT only a certain set of rows at a time

    I need to select data from one table and insert it into another table. Currently the SQL looks something like this: INSERT INTO A (x, y, z) SELECT x, y, z FROM B b WHERE ... However, the SELECT is huge, resulting in over 2 millions rows and we think it is taking up too much memory. Informix, the db in this case, runs out of virtual memory when the query is run. How would I go about selecting and inserting a set of rows (say 2000)? Given that I don't think there are any row ids etc.

  • C# Application process hangs after some time

    Hi, I implemented a simple C# application which inserts about 350000 records into the database. This used to work well and the process took approximately 20 minutes. I created a progress bar which lets you know approximately the progress of the records insertion. When the progress bar reaches about 75% it stops progressing. I have to manually terminate the program as the process doesn't seem to complete. If I use less data (like 10000), the progress bar finishes and the process is completed. However when I try to insert all the records, this won't happen any more. Note that if I wait longer to terminate the program manually, more records would have been inserted. For example, if I terminate the program after 15 minutes, 200000 records are inserted, whereas if I terminate the program after 20 minutes, 250000 records are inserted. This program is using a single thread. In face I can't do anything else until the process is complete. Does this have anything to do with threading or processes? Any feedback will be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

  • Desine time XAML serialization problem in VS2010 Designer

    The wired problem is, in VS 2008, everything works fine. In VS2010 while serializing, it is missing the "ReportDimensionElements" so I'm unable to get the values back from the serialized value back from the XAML. It says, "'ReportDimensionElements' is null" am I missing anything silly. Note: I have marked the ReportDimensionElements class with [DefaultValue(null)] for avoiding {x:Null} being serialized. Will it be causing this by any way?     Read (skimmed enough to get coding) through Erlang Programming and Programming Erlang. One question, which is as simple as it sounds: If you have a process Pid1 on machine m1 and a billion million messages are sent to Pid1, are messages handled in parallel by that process (I get the impression no) and(answered below) is there any guarantee of order when processing messages? ie. Received in order sent? If so, how is clock skew handled in high traffic situations for ordering? Coming from the whole C/Thread pools/Shared State background ... I want to get this concrete. I understand distributing an application, but want to ensure the 'raw bones' are what I expect before building processes and distributing workload. Also, am I right in thinking the whole world is currently flicking through Erlang texts ;)

  • Launch Activity with Intent Filter on Right Time

    Hi. I want to launch my own media player application when I want to watch a video from Youtube. When I write android:scheme="http" and android:host="m.youtube.com" it is OK. But, it asks everywhere in m.youtube.com to open my app. So, it gets annoying. I tried to use pathPattern, pathPrefix and path to solve this but I didn't get ahead. All I want is clearly this: When the link is like "http://m.youtube.com/index?desktop_uri=%2F%gl=US#" the intent filter shouldn't launch my app. When the link is like "http://m.youtube.com/index?desktop_uri=%2F&gl=US#/watch?xl=xl_blazer&v=k3Cdqx1qFX8" my application should be launched. Is there anyone that can help me?

An answer I had from the other question I asked told me that the line where the error occurs is wrong in that bookNum.charAt(i) is an (immutable) string, and I can't get the values into a book array that way. What I need to do on my assignment is check an ISBN number (bookNum) to see that it is all numbers, except the last digit can be an 'x' (valid ISBN). Is this the best way to do it? If so, what the hell am I doing wrong? If not, what method would be a better one to use?

But after running my program on event onclick the alert dialog box opens and allows filling information in it. and then on click of ok button alert dialog if condition is matched than data will be submitted and intent will pass otherwise in toast msg it will show something like enter correct password or loginid etc. but when on second click of button on which I have set alertdialogbox the thread msg will appear and it will close the program so what is the solution for this.     I am trying to create a packet analyzer for an online game using C# and I am new to c#. I have 2 RichTextBoxes, 1 shows the packet in bytes and the other one shows the packet in ANSI. Here is what I want to achieve: When I select(highlight) data in the byte text box, I want the corresponding data in the ANSI text box to also be highlighted. (and vice-versa) When I change data in the 1 of the textboxes, I want the corresponding data in the other textbox to also be changed. How do I do these?

  • Date type in oracle does not include time values

    I have a PHP application using an Oracle XE database. Whenever I add a date the hours minutes, and seconds seem to get left out. Is there some special format, or type I should use to be able to store this? I have tried using to_date, and specifying the format I am using.   • Big time Leaking in Objective-C Category

    I created a custom NSString Category which lets me find all strings between two other strings. I'm now running into the problem of finding that there are a lot of kBs leaking from my script.   • OS X Terminal: Meta key + alt functionality at the same time

    Is there a way to use "alt/option" key as a meta key but still be able to use the key to make some characters which need it? For example in my local keyboard layout: @ is alt-2 \ is alt-shift-7 | is alt-7 etc. So if I set alt as meta key, I can't make those characters. On the other hand using "press esc, release esc, press a key" to make meta key sequences makes my hands hurt. Any emacs users with international keyboards who have solved this, please give any tips you might have! :) edit: It appears that I can set alt as meta key and then add these kind of settings in inputrc: "\e2": "@" This works in bash shell but it still won't work with emacs though, so no good.

  • Time out when creating a site collection

    I am trying to create a site collection programmatically. It has worked for about 6 months, but after the servers have been updated (various patches) it doesn’t work anymore (we have 3 servers: 1 development, 1 test, 1 production). It is still working in my development environment which hasn’t been updated, but not on the two others. I don’t receive any error messages, it just hangs at the code that is supposed to add the site collection (see code below). I am using Windows Server 2003 R2 and Sharepoint 2007 (version 12.0.0.6421 ). It doesn’t give me any errors, it just hangs until Internet Explorer comes with a “request timed out” response. If I try and debug the code, the code just stops there and nothing happens.   • How do develop a Java web application without having to deploy all the time

    I've set up a simple Eclipse 3.5/Jetty 6.1 web app which returns hello world. It works. This is on Windows and uses the "Jetty Generic Server Adapter". I have auto deployment working so that it deploys after changes periodically. How do I go about setting it up so that if I change any static content it doesn't have to redeploy i.e I can just hit F5 to see the changes straight away. For minor HTML changes it's quite unusable waiting 20-30 seconds for a deployment.

  • MySQL: Digits (1.75) to Friendly Time (1 hour and 45 minutes)

    In my MySQL database, I have a float field named "HoursSpent" with values like "0.25", "1.75", "2.5", etc. Is there a way that I can have my SELECT statement format those values in a friendly format like this?: 0.25 = 15 minutes 1.75 = 1 hour and 45 minutes 2.5 = 2 hours and 30 minutes The "HoursSpent" field is supposed to only have values in 0.25 increments, but if somebody were to put something random like 0.16, it would be nice if the SELECT statement handled that by rounding it up to the nearest 0.25 (so in this case 0.16 would become 0.25, or 15 minutes).
