I am considering using mediawiki for managing my personal information (code, and other "real life" data). And I would love any tips on how best to do so.
Thanks!
I was wondering if there was a software that would generate UML class diagrams from my project files (C#) in Visual Studio 2008 Professional? Like a plugin of sorts?
Thanks in advance.
p.s. I have checked previous posts and did not see anything useful on the first glance.
EDIT: I found Class Diagram item! but open to more tips.
Tagged PDFs allow for the easy reflow and accessibility of PDFs. It seems like this would be a natural use case for using LaTeX, which advocates content over style. But as far as I can tell, there is no way to create a tagged PDF with MikTeX 2.8.
Does anybody know of any tips, tricks or techniques to get a tagged PDF through LaTeX without resorting to the commercial version of Adobe Acrobat?

I'm new to developing in SharePoint and would like some tips please. I want to develop a WebPart. I understand that I effectively need to do this on a machine with SharePoint Server installed and create the web part as an ASP control. Once the control is created, how do I link it into SharePoint?
I would like to something like this in JavaScript
var init = function () {
// do some stuff once
var once = true
// overwrite the function
init = function () {
console.log(once)
}
}
CoffeeScript adds another local var init to the initial init so the second init doesn't overwrite the first one
var init = function () {
var init //automatically declared by coffeescript
// do some stuff once
var once = true
// overwrite the function
init = function () {
console.log(once)
}
}
Some tips for solutions / workarounds would be greatly appreciated.
Machine tags are more precise tags: http://www.flickr.com/groups/api/discuss/72157594497877875. They allow a user to basically tag anything as an object in the format
object:property=value
Any tips on a rdbms schema that implements this? Just wondering if anyone
has already dabbled with this. I imagine the schema is quite similar to implementing
rdf triples in a rdbms

I work on a huge project. While we program we end up meeting for endless backlog sizing sessions where all the developers sit down with the team and size user stories.
Scrum doubters are saying that this process is taking too long and development time is being wasted.
My question is how long should it take to size a user story on average? And does anyone have any tips to make these sizing sessions go quicker?
Hi there,
I feel like this is quite delicate,
I have various folders whith projects I would like to backup into a zip/tar file, but would like to avoid backing up files such as pyc files and temporary files.
I also have a Postgres db I need to backup.
Any tips for running this operation as a python script?
Also, would there be anyway to stop the process from hogging resources in the process?
Help would be very much appreciated.
I've never used Speech Recognition (SR) at all, but I'm hearing that the built-in SR capabilities of windows 7 is not half-bad. I'm thinking that it might be a real productivity booster with Visual Studio so I can decrease the use of the mouse (no Emacs comments please ;-). I don't envision not using the keyboard to type the actual code--but maybe that would work too?
Does anyone have experience using SR with Visual Studio on Windows 7? If so, any tips on usage?
I'm trying to figure out how to get the name and parameters of a parent function.
Example:
function foo($a,$b){
bar();
}
function bar(){
// Magic Print
}
foo('hello', 'world');
Output:
foo('hello','world')
Any tips?

How this can be done in april 2012 without a pagerefresh crossbrowserwise (IE7+,FF,Opera,Safari) ?
For inspiration: Here is actually someone already doing this, click on "portfolio" or "features" and watch the url in your browser.
thanks for tips
I have a tower built from blocks like this :
Whole Tower is an array of Towers. Each Tower contains Box[] array containing single Box'es.What layout should I use for this and can you give me any tips on how to create it ?
Would it be easier if I would create Grid[][] containing Box'es? But I guess I can't store Box object inside Grid array. I'm just totally confused :/
How do I format an NSURL (what path, or path generator function) so that I can display a downloaded local file (NOT part of the application NSBundle) for use offline? The idea is to snag an HTML file, clean it up and stash it in the iFoo application specific storage area, then later use UIWebView to display it.
Next, I go off to RTFM about working with files on iFoo (iPhone / iPad) in general, but any fast-start tips are appreciated.
In Windows, how can I programmatically determine which user account last changed or deleted a file?
I know that setting up object access auditing may be an option, but if I use that I then have the problem of trying to match up event log entries to specific files... sounds messy! I can't think of any other way, so does anyone either have any tips for this approach or any alternatives?
I have noticed in a number of apps they let you see a zoomed in view of where you are dragging just like the way it is on a UITextField (screenshot attached) but it works over images etc.. Does anyone know if there is an easy way to achieve this? Since a number of apps use it I figured that there might be something built in or an easy way to do it.
Any tips are appreciated.
I have a system that uses an mdb database with an xsd descriptor written in c#. Now I want to use one or more xml files with the same data instead. I have generated a couple of adapters for the mdb, but now I don't know what is needed for using xml instead. Anyone have some tips? I have managed to save the mdb as a few xml files.
I am searching for a Tooltip plugin/library for JQuery. It should be able to automaticlly position tooltips, like TipTip, and also support HTML content for the tips.
TipTip does fullfill both conditions, but:
Added HTML support with Tip Tip. You can now add HTML into the Title attribute (though this is not recommended if you want strictly valid code).
Hallo all,
In my institute, Tortoise is employed for the purpose of version control.
I find, if a mdb file which belongs to the working copy of a project reporitory is opened thru Access, the ordinary will be labelled with an explamation mark. Since the database has not been modified, I don't unterstand why Tortoise regards the opening as a kind of modification.
Thanks in advance for any tips.

I have the integer pixel i got from get.rgb(x,y), but i dont have any clue about how to convert it to RGBA. For example, -16726016 should be Color(0,200,0,255). Any tips?
I have tables in which 35000 to 40000 records are available. Inspite using ajax the performance of the website is very low. Can any body please suggest some ideas or tips for the problem. Thanks in advance.
Can anyone recommend a web site that includes up to date performance tips for Java? Most of the sites I have found seem to be old and I guess the newer versions (1.5 - 1.7) may have obsoleted some recommendations.
