  • Google Maps: Traffic on top of Custom Map

    I want to add traffic information to my custom map. Currently I'm using a Tile Layer Overlay on my Google Map to display custom map tiles. When I try to add GTrafficOverlay to my map, my custom map tiles display above the traffic information. Is there any way to display the traffic above my GTileLayerOverlay? (Using the JavaScript api)

  • Why did this new line just show up on my google maps

    i am using the google maps API (v3). I just realized that a new line showed up at the bottom of my map that says: Map Data 2010 AND, AfriGIS (Pty) Ltd, Europa Technologies, Inva, Geosysternas SRL, Maplink . . . . How do i get rid of this? Its longer than my map so it gets truncated and looks weird, is there any way to fix this (if there is no way to do #1)

    Hi, As opposed to manually setting up a Wifi network(scanningaddingset encryption settings, etc) I'm trying to create an app that once the user enters his login credentials will automatically add the wifi network complete with the necessary network settings. Maybe i've been searching using the wrong keywords but I havent stumbled upon anything about this. I'm wondering which class(es) I should be looking at. Is this even allowed by the API?

  • Door with keypad that can be controlled by website

    Hi, I'm looking for some kind of the door/system that would allow us to install a door lock with a keypad. When somebody goes to that door they would enter a number that would open the door. The twist is that we need to be able to change the key combination that opens the door from a website. It needs to allow me to programmatically change the key combination required to open the door without somebody physically going there to do it. Any ideas what kind of hardware/software we would need to do this? Thanks a lot!

    Hello, I am programming a mobile app which send sms. I need a gateway that let me put a "from" parameter. On many gateways, I can only subscribe, put my mobile phone number as the sender after a verification process. The main problem is that the phone number verification is only available for my and not for my users. My customers can send an sms but the receiver does not see their mobile phone number in the "from" field. Do you know a good gateway which support that (in an automated way) ?     a user in out Company has 2 mail-addresses on one Exchange-Mailbox. e.g test@... and test1@... the Primary SMTP-address off the Mailbox is test@. If I send a message to test1@, load it using EWS and parse through the TORecipients-Collection there is exactly one emailadress. But the mailaddress EWS gives to me is test@... and not test1@... where I sent the mail. My problem is, that all mails sent to test@ should be imported in our CRM using my program. All mails sent to test1@... must not be imported. In real life both mailaddresses are from my Boss. One is used for normal purposes the other one is for confidential e.g. from his lawyer. Does anyone know how I can get the real-emailaddress the message was sent to?

  • How can I report a website that uses the webmail APIs to send spam?

    I've signed up for a cool job website that, unfortunately, asks you if you want to "invite your friends", and if you say so, you can give them access to your Gmail contacts to send the invite. However, contrary to what everyone would be expecting, they don't give you a list of who you want to invite; instead, they simply directly send spam to your entire contact list, like old-fashioned Outlook viruses. When you complain about this with them, they simply say "we will check the application and see if there is anything that might be confusing for the users". For me and some other friends (that felt for the same prank), this is a clear break on web best practices and a big disrespect on the users' trust. Thus, I would like to know what can we do to stop the website of using Gmail/Yahoo/Outlook APIs to send spam this way. P.S.: I wonder what would happen if I've given this website the access to post in my Facebook timeline as well. I've got a couple of calls from relatives asking about the email and I wonder how many unrelated people got this spam, like HR addresses from my past and whatnot.

  • First Experience with Web Services

    When I first started programming with Microsoft .Net (1.0 Framework) I had a strong desire to learn how search engines indexed web sites. At that time I was a working as a search engine spammer creating web pages to generate traffic for specific themes for various clients. One way I attempted to better understand .Net was to build a web spider that analyzed web pages on demand. An example of the spider is hosted at AddLinkz.com. After my spider was built I had no real idea what I could/should do with it until I found the MSN Search API. I used this web service to compare its results with my spider. Additionally, I used the API to feed my .Net web spider new URLs from the API based on specific search terms. MSN’s search API was very easy to use, I just had to request information by calling a web URL with parameters via a Get request and the results were returned in XML. At that time all requests were limited to XML responses and a maximum of 1,000 results per query.   Since then the entire API has gone through several reconstructions, rebranding and new search services.  Microsoft’s new Bing API replaced the older MSN search API and added several new search capabilities. These new features allow search data to be returned for web searches, image searches, new searches, and related search terms to name a few.     Hi all, I've done a few searches and couldn't find an answer. I'm trying to update the status of my business's "Application Page" (not personal page, and not "Fan Page") on Facebook. Two questions for the community: 1) How to update the "Application Page" status programmatically? I found the answer for a "Fan Page" here (http://stackoverflow.com/questions/2097665/authorizing-a-facebook-fan-page-for-status-updates). Does anyone think it will work for an "Application Page" as well? 2) How to update the "Application Page" status through a third party service? Ideally, I'd like to post to one location and have it show up a) on my business twitter status and b) on my Facebook "Application Page" status.   • Twitter feed appears to be both RSS 2.0 and Atom?

    I'm parsing various site feeds, and putting together a small library to help me do it. Looking at the Atom RFC and RSS 2.0 specification, feeds from Twitter seem to be a combination. Twitter specifies an Atom namespace in an RSS 2.0 structure? GitHub uses Atom, whereas Flickr (offers multiple but the default 'Latest' feed from user profiles) appears to be RSS 2.0. How can Twitter specify a Atom namespace and then use RSS? This makes parsing feeds a little ambiguous, unless I ignore any specified namespace and just examine the document structure.

    Hi. We've noticed what seems to be a delay and/or inconsistent results using the Twitter Search API when specifying a sinceid in the param clause. For example: http://search.twitter.com/search?ors=%23b4esummit+@b4esummit+b4esummit&q=&result_type=recent&rpp=100&show_user=true&since_id= Will give the most recent Tweets, but: http://search.twitter.com/search?ors=%23b4esummit+@b4esummit+b4esummit&q=&result_type=recent&rpp=100&show_user=true&since_id= 12642940173 will often not give tweets that are after that ID for several hours (even though they're visible in the first query)... anyone have similar problems?

  • How to do inclusive range queries when only half-open range is supported (ala SortedMap.subMap)

    On SortedMap.subMap This is the API for SortedMap<K,V>.subMap: SortedMap<K,V> subMap(K fromKey, K toKey) : Returns a view of the portion of this map whose keys range from fromKey, inclusive, to toKey, exclusive. This inclusive lower bound, exclusive upper bound combo ("half-open range") is something that is prevalent in Java, and while it does have its benefits, it also has its quirks, as we shall soon see. The following snippet illustrates a simple usage of subMap: static <K,V> SortedMap<K,V> someSortOfSortedMap() { return Collections.synchronizedSortedMap(new TreeMap<K,V>()); } //... SortedMap<Integer,String> map = someSortOfSortedMap(); map.put(1, "One"); map.put(3, "Three"); map.put(5, "Five"); map.put(7, "Seven"); map.put(9, "Nine"); System.out.println(map.subMap(0, 4)); // prints "{1=One, 3=Three}" System.out.println(map.subMap(3, 7)); // prints "{3=Three, 5=Five}" The last line is important: 7=Seven is excluded, due to the exclusive upper bound nature of subMap. A generic version that also takes e.g. Long keys is not possible (see related questions) Not to mention that for Long, we need to compare against Long.MAX_VALUE instead Overloads for the numeric primitive boxed types Byte, Character, etc, as keys, must all be written individually A special check need to be made for toInclusive == Integer.MAX_VALUE, because +1 would overflow, and subMap would throw IllegalArgumentException: fromKey > toKey This, generally speaking, is an overly ugly and overly specific solution What about String keys? Or some unknown type that may not even be Comparable<?>? So the question is: is it possible to write a general subMapInclusive method that takes a SortedMap<K,V>, and K fromKey, K toKey, and perform an inclusive-range subMap queries? Related questions Are upper bounds of indexed ranges always assumed to be exclusive? Is it possible to write a generic +1 method for numeric box types in Java? On NavigableMap It should be mentioned that there's a NavigableMap.subMap overload that takes two additional boolean variables to signify whether the bounds are inclusive or exclusive. Had this been made available in SortedMap, then none of the above would've even been asked. So working with a NavigableMap<K,V> for inclusive range queries would've been ideal, but while Collections provides utility methods for SortedMap (among other things), we aren't afforded the same luxury with NavigableMap.
