  • using jquery $.ajax to retrieve data and push data into javascript array through the success functio

    Hello All, I have a function that I'm trying to retrieve values using $.ajax and push the returned data into an array called output. Problem is the success function will not allow me to push the results into the array. see below for code. var getValues = function(el) { var value = ($(el).val()); if(value == '' || $(el).attr('disabled')) { return []; } var string = 'value=' + value; var output = []; $.ajax({ type: "GET", url: 'shocklookup_callback.php', dataType: "string", data: string, success: function(data) { } }); //output.push({ text : value + 'test', value : value + 'test1'} ); return output; }; Any ideas of what I can put in the success function to be able to push the data into the output array? Also I need to be able to return the output array to the original function getValues. If this doesn't' make a whole lot of sense please let me know and I'll try to explain better. Thanks, Dane

  • What database works well with 200+GB of data?

    I've been using mysql (with innodb; on Amazon rds) because it's sort of universal default, but it's been ridiculously under-performing, and tweaking it only delays the inevitable. The data is mostly relatively short (<1kB of bytes each) blobs information about 100Ms of urls. There is (or should be, mysql cannot seem to handle it) very high amount of insert / update / retrieve but few complex queries - not that complex queries wouldn't be useful, but because mysql is so slow that it's far faster to get the data out, process it locally, and cache the results somewhere. I can keep tweaking mysql and throwing more hardware at it, but it seems increasingly futile. So what are the options? SQL/relational model/etc. optional - anything will do as long as it's fast, networked, and language-independent.

  • Permission forbidden on localhost with apache2

    Here is what I am trying to do. I tried to add another folder to apache and I get the following error when trying to acces testing/index.html. The idea is that I would like to have for every customer a folder like /home/neagoe/Work/InterWebs/Projects/[PROJECT NAME]/CustomerProjects/website/dist. Forbidden You don't have permission to access /index.html on this server.   • How do I create/use a Fluent NHibernate convention to automap UInt32 properties to an SQL Server 200

    I'm trying to use a convention to map UInt32 properties to a SQL Server 2008 database. I don't seem to be able to create a solution based on existing web sources, due to updates in the way Fluent NHibernate works - i.e. examples are out of date. I'm trying to have NHibernate generate the schema (via ExposeConfiguration). I'm happy to have NHibernate map it to anything sensible (e.g. bigint). Here's my code as it currently stands (which, when I try to expose the schema, fails due to SQL Server not supporting UInt32). Apologies for the code being a little long, but I'm not 100% sure what is relevant to the problem, so I'm erring on the side of caution. Most of it is based on this post. The error reported is: System.ArgumentException : Dialect does not support DbType.UInt32 I think I'll need a relatively comprehensive example, as I don't seem to be able to pull the pieces together into a working solution, at present.   • XMLHttpRequest request is resultin in ReadyState 4 and status is 200.

    I am trying to make a XMLHttpRequest Request to a content which is on local, runnin on local webserver from a HTML File and javascript residing locally. it will hit the webserver request, and then even thou it sends the data back, in my javscript, at once I get readyState 4 and status as 0. If i try putting the pages in the webserver foloder and access them as webpage slke http;//localhost/ filename then it works fine.

  • Juju Zookeeper & Provisioning Agent Not Deployed

    I am using juju with the openstack provider, i expected that when i bootstrap that zookeeper and provisioning agent would get deployed on the bootstrap vm in openstack. This dose not seem to be the case. the bootstrap vm gets deployed but it seems that nothing gets deployed to the VM. See logs below, I may be missing something, also how is it possible to log on the bootstrap vm. Could I manual deploy, if so what do I need to do.   • Spring 3 Security Authentication Success Handler

    I am using form-login for security and I am trying to implement an authentication success handler, but I am not sure how to go back to the resource that was initially requested before the login process. By default I think it implements a SimpleUrlAuthenticationSuccessHandler and I tried to mirror that class implementation. But it sets a setDefaultTargetUrl(defaultTargetUrl) and perhaps thats where the magic happens that it remembers the resource to go back to after the login process. Any help is greatly appreciated.     Hi all: I got stuck in this problem for an hour. I am thinking this is something relates to variable scoping ?     I've poked around a bit, but I don't see an HTTP status code for when a request's succeeds, but there is an error after the "point of no return". e.g., Say you process a request, its committed to the database, but while returning the result you run of memory, or encounter a NPE, or what have you. It would have been a 200 response, but now, internally, you aren't able to return the proper, well-formed response. 202 Accepted doesn't seem to fit since we've already processed the request. What status code means "Success, but errors"? Does one even exist?

Why is that? I am running this locally at http://localhost:3000, and am using JQuery 1.4.2. What am I missing here?

  • Audit success in event log from not administrator IP - is that immediately a hack success indicator?

    I checked event log today and between mass of failed audit events I found some successes which originated from not my country. However they look a little weird and no process is specified, while when I logon using RDP it says winlogon.exe I am wondering whether that means my system was compromised or there are good variants and it doesnt mean its all that bad. I am using a VPS solution if thats useful.

  • Firefox does not upgrade properly (infinite installation loop without success)

    I've been using Firefox for a long time but I have a problem with upgrading process now. As you know, Firefox automatically checks for the latest version and downloads it, and when it is ready to be installed it starts the installation process as usual. Last month, when I clicked on "OK, install v3.6.2", the process started but couldn't be finished properly. FF gave a message like that: "Installation cannot be completed, please restart Firefox to retry". When I restarted FF, the same thing happened, and the process entered in an infinite loop. I restarted my PC and clicked on FF icon, and again the installation process began and went into the infinite loop. My solution to this problem was to download FF 3.6.2 and manually install it after killing firefox.exe. Today, FF proposed me to install v3.6.3 and again the same problem occured. I manually downloaded FF 3.6.3 and installed it successfully. Anyone experiencing this problem? In case you want to know, I did not install any new addons in the last few months, and my FF operates without problems. I'm using Windows 7 Home Pro x64.
