• Why many applications close after opening a document or doing a specific actions?

  I have some encrypted pdf files that have no problem and in my last windows, I could open them easily with Adobe Reader 9.2 and other pdf readers. But now, I can only open non-encrypted pdf files and one encrypted file with Adobe Reader. every time I open almost any encrypted pdf, it closes itself. Also, when I try to search a folder for a keyword with Foxit Reader, once it closed. This is not related to Adobe Reader, because I have the same problem with Word 2007. When I open a document, sometimes it closes instantly and sometimes it closes after a few seconds and sometimes it is stable. My windows is Fresh. I have installed it a few days ago. I have ESET Smart Security 5.2 and I have updated it today. After right-clicking to deselect the toolbar (I was testing something) I cannot find a way to reinstate them. Since the toolbar is enabled by right clicking on the toolbar area, when it's disabled, it's not obvious how to reenable it.   I have a large PDF document that consists of scanned pages of a textbook. I want to run Adobe Acrobat 9's text recognition function on it, but I'm presented with this menu when I do. I'm confused by the options in the highlighted menu. What option will produce the highest quality/most readable text? I thought 600 dpi implies a higher quality image than 72 dpi, so I'm confused by "High (72 dpi)" and "Lowest (600 dpi)."

Question: Can you force immediate display of the toolTip (errorTip) rather than waiting for the user to hover over the control? If so, how?

• Flex chart axis title blinking on resize

  I am having a chart with titles for horizontal and vertical axis. the verticalAxisTitleAlignment property of the vertical axis renderer is set to vertical. The application is a portal sort of thing and this chart is placed inside a small window. on click of the window am resizing the parent of the chart. but at that time the title of the axis is blinking and it provides a feeling that the resizing is not smooth. I dont understand why this happens? does the tile renders each time when the component is maximized? is there any way to stop that? • Auto-sizing and positioning in Flex

  I am working on a flex app that uses XML templates to dynamically create DisplayObjects. These templates define different layouts that can be used for each page of content in the app (ie , 2 columns, 3 columns etc etc). The administrator can select from one of these and populate each area with their content. The templates add one of 3 types of DisplayObject - HBox, VBox or a third component - LibraryContentContainer (an mxml component that is defined as part of the app) - which is effectively a canvas element with a TextArea inside. The problem that I am getting is that I need each of these areas to automatically resize to fit the length of the content but don't seem to be able to find an effective way to do so. In the LibraryContentContainer, when the value of the TextArea is set, I am calling .validateNow() on the LibraryContentContainer. I then set the height property on both the TextArea and LibraryContentContainer to match the textHeight property of the TextArea. In the following example, this is the LibraryContentContainer, viewer is the TextArea and the value property of the TextArea is bound to this.__Value. v is the variable containing the content for the textarea this.__Value = v; this.validateNow(); this.viewer.height = this.viewer.textHeight; this.height = this.viewer.height; This works to a degree in that the TextArea grows or shrinks depending on the length of content, but it's still not great - sometimes there are still vertical scrollbars even tho the size of the TextArea has grown.   Hi there. I've created a couple of shared templates (.xdp) which will be shared among several clients. Obviously, each client has their own logo and I'd like to set the logo upon form generation. I've managed to change the logo dynamically although I'm not sure if my approach is good. In the xml datasource I've got this element: <ClientID>SomeNumber</ClientId> In the form itself I set the image href with this javascript code: SomeHiddenTextField::calculate HeaderLogo.value.image.href = $record.ClientID + "_logo.jpg"; I've got the logos stored on the server in the same folder as the shared templates. Is this an alright approach to load logos dynamically? I've been trying to achieve the same dynamic behaviour with each client's footer fragment, but I have been unable to figure out how to load these on demand. I could make each footer fragment in to an image but I'd like to avoid it if possible.

  I scanned a document on a scanner at a friend's house and the pdf ended up being 35 inches by 45 inches in size. I think this the cause of the trouble had for the person I sent it to, they get the error "insufficient image". How can I scale this down in Adobe Acrobat X Pro to a normal 8.5x11 inch sheet so that I can see if that resolves their issue and I can share the document with them. I cannot rescan the document, as I no longer have it. Acrobat is running on Windows 7 OS. The scanner was an HP OfficeJet Pro L7650 All-in-one.

• How do I get rid of Adobe Download Akamai software on a Mac?

  I installed Adobe's Download Manager Software when I was downloading a CS4 trial. It was called Akamai. I can not seem to get rid of this pesky thing. I have Little Snitch installed so I was annoyed that it showed that this app would phone home for updates every login. I felt this was an unnecessary process I wanted rid of. I've uninstalled it using App Cleaner. Now on login the Akamai app does not produce any Little Snitch prompts. "SoftwareUpdateCheck" does. SoftwareUpdateCheck wants to connect to a950.gi3.akamai.net on TCP 80. SoftwareUpdateCheck is /System/Library/CoreServices/SoftwareUpdate.app/Contents/Resources/SoftwareUpdateCheck. How do I rid myself of this? Mac OS X 10.6

  I need flash to watch YT videos. YT said "You need to upgrade your Adobe Flash Player to watch this video." with a link to download flash. I'm running 10.04 so I see possible choices for myself: 1) a .deb file for Ubuntu 8.04+ or APT (whats this??) for Ubuntu 9.04.   I'm using Adobe Illustrator CS4. I have a drawn vector image that is behind a layer with a stroked ellipse like this: However I need just one part of the image to appaer in front of the stroke. In this image I need the paw on the right to be in front of the stroke but I need the other leg to be covered by the stroke as it is above: I'm guessing I need to somehow make a copy of just the paw and place it on a layer above the layer with the stroke in order to achieve this effect however I don't know how to do that in Illustrator. Any help would be appreciated.

  I saved a Powerpoint as a pdf in Office 2007 but I don't see any options to add print restrictions or edit restrictions to it. I don't have Adobe either, so I'm wondering if there is any alternative way to add restrictions to a pdf. I know there are tools to remove document restrictions, but can they do they opposite? Is there any freeware or websites available that can add restrictions to my pdf I created? I found a website that looked promising but it didn't end up working (The upload didn't work).
