    hi all friends I meet a problem yestoday...maybe it's becoz it is april 1st... but it did exist. here i begin clarifying: i have 3 pcs in remote area..2 clients and 1 oracle server.. my app is running seperately in the two clients hourly connecting to the oracles,,my clients worked well be4 April 1th, but suddenly my app in the clients mechines went down...first i did not change any configurations.... i used libsqlora8 to connect the server...I went into a dead loop in the library...I tried sqlplus, but it dead there in my shell terminal, like it meets a infinite loop....no return until i pressed ctrl + c, the reason i guess is "infinite loop" somewhere..... btw, when i used my local pc to connect the server, it worked well...just from this phenomenon, wen can see the is problems lie in the client mechines..and i check the configuration file both in local mechine and client mechines..they are identical have you met a problem like this.... I dont hope it's frank of April 1st

  • How do I easily change hardcoded links to a file in Excel?

    I have a project where I maintain a list of all my students and their information in an Excel file labeled "BigList.xlsx". Then, I have about 40-50 other separate ancillary excel files that link to BigList by using vLookup. For example, in cell A1 of an ancillary file you might see a formula that looks like this: =Vlookup(B3, 'c:\documents and settings\user\desktop[BigList.xlsx]Sheet1'!$a$1:$b$10000,2,false). The vlookup link above references BigList.xlsx. However, I just realized that I need to change that file name to something else, like MasterDatabase.xlsm (notice the different extension). Is there an easy way to do this without having to manually go through all 40-50 files and doing a find & replace? I think the basic idea is to change a hardcoded link into a dynamic one where I can change the filename of BigList.xlsx anytime, and not have to go back through all 40-50 files to update their links.

    I have a Javascript question that I am curious about. When using: var test = document.links(arrayNum).name; Is it possible to dig deeper into specifying links? For instance, if there is just a group of links from within a div with an id that you would like to target as opposed to all the links on the page could you write something like: var test = document.getElementById('divId').links(arrayNum).name; Or could I add a class to the statement to target only the links associated with it? var test = document.links.className(arrayNum).name; Is anything like this feasible?

  • Can inbound links through template-based layouts result in penalties?

    So obviously link building is encouraged as long as it is natural, organic and has meaningful links with content relevant to your site. Obviously with the constant release of new updates to algorithms, Google is flagging sites for unnatural links to their sites. My Question is: Can this be caused by templating systems? With WordPress for example, where you can add a link on the footer and it is repeated throughout the entire website generating thousands of links? If we don't add any links, Good Content will be re-posted and linked to, surely if your content is constantly linked to this will flag your site for "unnatural" content as it's difficult to see if someone has been paid to write an article on your content. Or does Google just simply want us to audit some of the links to show we are making an effort? As you can tell we have had a Manual action for: Unnatural links to your site—impacts links. However, this seems to impact our website as well. Edit: To clarify the question: Can you get penalised for paying for advertising on a site that uses a templated sidebar. So when they create a new blog/page ect your link is also added onto the page hence resulting in 1000's of links to one page on our site. I know that one effect maybe a 0 pagerank web page linking to your page dilutes the PR of our page. However the links are only inbound not reciprocal

SassAndCoffee 0.9 Released: Paul Betts blogs about the latest release of his SassAndCoffee extension (available via NuGet). Unit Testing Razor Views: Nice post from David Ebbo that shows how to use his new Razor Generator to enable unit testing of razor view templates with ASP.NET MVC. Bin Deploying ASP.NET MVC 3: Nice post by Phil Haack that covers a cool feature added to VS 2010 SP1 that makes it really easy to \bin deploy ASP.NET MVC and Razor within your application. This enables you to easily deploy the app to servers that don’t have ASP.NET MVC 3 installed. .NET Table Splitting with EF 4.1 Code First: Great post from Morteza Manavi that discusses how to split up a single database table across multiple EF entity classes.  This shows off some of the power behind EF 4.1 and is very useful when working with legacy database schemas. Choosing the Right Collection Class: Nice post from James Michael Hare that talks about the different collection class options available within .NET.  A nice overview for people who haven’t looked at all of the support now built into the framework. Little Wonders: Empty(), DefaultIfEmpty() and Count() helper methods: Another in James Michael Hare’s excellent series on .NET/C# “Little Wonders”.  This post covers some of the great helper methods now built-into .NET that make coding even easier. NuGet NuGet 1.4 Released: Learn all about the latest release of NuGet – which includes a bunch of cool new capabilities.  It takes only seconds to update to it – go for it! How to Pin a Project to the Recent Projects List in VS 2010: A useful tip/trick that demonstrates how to “pin” a project to always show up on the “Recent Projects” list within Visual Studio 2010. Using the WPF Tree Visualizer in VS 2010: Zain blogs about the new WPF Tree Visualizer supported by the VS 2010 debugger.  This makes it easier to visualize WPF control hierarchies within the debugger. TFS 2010 Power Tools Released: Brian Harry blogs about the cool new TFS 2010 extensions released with this week’s TFS 2010 Power Tools release. What is New with T4 in VS 2010: T4 is the name of Visual Studio’s template-based code generation technology.  Lots of scenarios within VS 2010 now use T4 for code generation customization.   • Mailto links are not working in Chrome

    Mailto links are not working at all in Chrome (8.0.552.224). These links are working in IE 7&8, Safari, and Firefox. In Chrome, we are clicking on mailto links (we have tested this about 25 times now), and things just go into the ether. In all other browsers, we click on the mailto links, they open up email clients (gmail, outlook, and others), and we can send the email. But in Chrome, we click the mailto links and nothing happens...

  • Exit link tracking with timestamped logs on 3rd party content

    I want to track clicks on exit links, that are placed in 3rd party content, for example on Twitter. I also need the timestamps of the clicks. Google Analytics can't be embedded in 3rd party content. Another solution is to use a URL shortener like bit.ly. However, bit.ly or goo.gl don't log the time of the click with any better granularity than a full day. su.pr shows the time for the past day in its analytics graph. The analytics download only includes the day, not the time. cli.gs was touted as having the most detailed analytics, yet it doesn't show the time either, and forces the user through a preview page. Any ideas?

    I am trying to figure out how to create dynamic links and urls on a static webpage. What I want to do is the following: I have a single webpage for example: MYWEBPAGEdotCOM/INDEX.HTML that will always look the same, except for one link on the page. the link would be on the page for example: LINK TO AFFILIATE: affiliatedotCOM/my-affiliate_code_here_DYNAMIC_REFERER the only thing would change is the "DYNAMIC_REFERER" with every dynamic url on this page: MYWEBPAGEdotCOM/INDEX.PHP_id=test1 MYWEBPAGEdotCOM/INDEX.PHP_id=test2 MYWEBPAGEdotCOM/INDEX.PHP_id=test3 MYWEBPAGEdotCOM/INDEX.PHP_id=test4 which would only hange the dynamic link on the page to: affiliatedotCOM/my-affiliate_code_here_test1 affiliatedotCOM/my-affiliate_code_here_test2 affiliatedotCOM/my-affiliate_code_here_test3 affiliatedotCOM/my-affiliate_code_here_test4 Can someone tell me how I could go about doing this? I just dont want to have to make 100's of pages, as this would prevent me from having to do so.

  • Could breadcrumbs be considered as rich anchor text, and drop my ranking?

    I have breadcrumbs on my site, and the anchor text for the links are an exact match for the keyword I want to rank for. So in other words, it's "rich" anchor text. An example of my breadcrumbs could look like: Home Apple Cheats Apple Points Cheats Apple Seeds Game Cheats Well I've also used RDF markup to construct my breadcrumbs, following the Google article Rich snippets - Breadcrumbs which will allow Google to recognize it. So overall, do I need to worry about exact match anchor text that will get me penalized by something like Penguin? If so, I can remove the breadcrumbs easily.

    While most of the buzz at the recent PDC here at Microsoft's headquarters has been about Windows Azure and Windows Phone, there is a truly noteworthy technology that as a .NET developer (of any kind of application) you should pay attention to, even in its early technology preview stage: Visual Studio Async CTP. I could provide many more direct links, but you do not need them: just visit the home page of this technology to download whitepapers, watch videos on how this technology integrates with C# and with VB, (through the new async and await language keywords) as well as videos on how the technology works under the covers (based largely on the Task Parallel Library). More importantly, download the actual bits (they install on top of your Visual Studio 2010), which include many samples.   • dynamic urls and links on one web page

    I am trying to figure out how to create dynamic links and urls on a static webpage. What I want to do is the following: I have a single webpage for example: MYWEBPAGEdotCOM/INDEX.HTML that will always look the same, except for one link on the page. the link would be on the page for example: LINK TO AFFILIATE: affiliatedotCOM/my-affiliate_code_here_DYNAMIC_REFERER the only thing would change is the "DYNAMIC_REFERER" with every dynamic url on this page: MYWEBPAGEdotCOM/INDEX.PHP_id=test1 MYWEBPAGEdotCOM/INDEX.PHP_id=test2 MYWEBPAGEdotCOM/INDEX.PHP_id=test3 MYWEBPAGEdotCOM/INDEX.PHP_id=test4 which would only hange the dynamic link on the page to: affiliatedotCOM/my-affiliate_code_here_test1 affiliatedotCOM/my-affiliate_code_here_test2 affiliatedotCOM/my-affiliate_code_here_test3 affiliatedotCOM/my-affiliate_code_here_test4 Can someone tell me how I could go about doing this? I just dont want to have to make 100's of pages, as this would prevent me from having to do so.

  • Link form correct, or, punishable by search engines?

    I have the following dilemma with the links of a wordpress blog that I work with, I don't know if the way it creates the link to the images is ok or not so good. For example: Article URL: http://test.com/prima-de-riesgo/ Image URL belonging to the article: http://test.com/prima-de-riesgo/europa/ So what I'm worried about is the repeating "prima-de-riesgo" part. Should I, or shouldn't I? UPDATE Wow, I can't believe that you took test.com as for the real domain, hehe!
