  I have large MQ patch applied in Mercurial. What has happened is I have done qrefresh and included files in my patch that I do not want to include. Is there a way to remove the changes to these file from my patch with out manually editing it? In this case if I was just working without MQ, all I would have to do is hg revert.

  I would like to have a mercurial repository on my website so that I can push/pull as I make updates to it, but I do not have SSH access, only HTTP or FTP. Can this be done? I suspect no, since I would not be able to run hg on the server, so I would only be able to clone it.

  I am getting a error that is preventing me to pull, even force pull. hg command error: transaction abort! rollback completed abort: data/assets/images/skins/file/skin.jpg.i@0727c4489edc: unknown parent!   I'm a bit new to git, and I fail to understand why git commit -a only stages changed and deleted files but not new files. Can anyone explain why is it like this, and why there is no other commit flag to enable adding files and committing in one command? BTW, hg commit -A adds both new and deleted files to the commit

• How to trim whitespace from bash variable?

  I have a shell script with this code: var=`hg st -R "$path"` if [ -n "$var" ]; then echo $var fi But the conditional code always executes because hg st always prints at least one newline character. Is there a simple way to strip whitespace from $var (like trim() in php)? or Is there a standard way of dealing with this issue? I could use sed or awk, but I'd like to think there is a more elegant solution to this problem.

  I am getting the following error when trying to update my project from Intellij 9 using hg4idea: Error: cannot update with applied MQ patches, please use rebase What does this mean? I have not created or applied any patches as far as I know. I can pull changes from my remote repository but cannot update the project from within Intellij.
