  • sql perfomance on new server

    - by Rapunzo
    My database is running on a pc (AMD Phenom x6, intel ssd disk, 8GB DDR3 RAM and windows 7 OS + sql server 2008 R2 sp3 ) and it started working hard, timeout problems and up to 30 seconds long queries after 200 mb of database And I also have an old server pc (IBM x-series 266: 72*3 15k rpm scsi discs with raid5, 4 gb ram and windows server 2003 + sql server 2008 R2 sp3 ) and same query start to give results in 100 seconds.. I tried query analyser tool for tuning my indexed. but not so much improvements. its a big dissapointment for me. because I thought even its an old server pc it should be more powerfull with 15k rpm discs with raid5. what should I do. do I need $10.000 new server to get a good performance for my sql server? cant I use that IBM server? Extra information: there is 50 sql users and its an ERP program. There is my query ALTER FUNCTION [dbo].[fnDispoTerbiye] ( ) RETURNS TABLE AS RETURN ( SELECT MD.dispoNo, SV.sevkNo, M1.musteriAdi AS musteri, SD.tipTurId, TT.tipTur, SD.tipNo, SD.desenNo, SD.varyantNo, SUM(T.topMetre) AS toplamSevkMetre, MD.dispoMetresi, DT.gelisMetresi, ISNULL(DT.fire, 0) AS fire, SV.sevkTarihi, DT.gelisTarihi, SP.mamulTermin, SD.miktar AS siparisMiktari, M.musteriAdi AS boyahane, MD.akisNotu AS islemler, --dbo.fnAkisIslemleri(MD.dispoNo) DT.partiNo, DT.iplikBoyaId, B.tanimAd AS BoyaTuru, MAX(HD.hamEn) AS hamEn, MAX(HD.hamGramaj) AS hamGramaj, TS.mamulEn, TS.mamulGramaj, DT.atkiCekmesi, DT.cozguCekmesi, DT.fiyat, DV.dovizCins, DT.dovizId, (SELECT CASE WHEN DT.dovizId = 2 THEN CAST(round(SUM(T .topMetre) * DT.fiyat * (SELECT TOP 1 satis FROM tblKur WHERE dovizId = 2 ORDER BY tarih DESC), 2) AS numeric(18, 2)) WHEN DT.dovizId = 3 THEN CAST(round(SUM(T .topMetre) * DT.fiyat * (SELECT TOP 1 satis FROM tblKur WHERE dovizId = 3 ORDER BY tarih DESC), 2) AS numeric(18, 2)) WHEN DT.dovizId = 1 THEN CAST(round(SUM(T .topMetre) * DT.fiyat * (SELECT TOP 1 satis FROM tblKur WHERE dovizId = 1 ORDER BY tarih DESC), 2) AS numeric(18, 2)) END AS Expr1) AS ToplamTLfiyat, DT.aciklama, MD.dispoNotu, SD.siparisId, SD.siparisDetayId, DT.sqlUserName, DT.kayitTarihi, O.orguAd, 'Çözgü=(' + (SELECT dbo.fnTipIplikler(SD.tipTurId, SD.tipNo, SD.desenNo, SD.varyantNo, 1) AS Expr1) + ')' + ' Atki=(' + (SELECT dbo.fnTipIplikler(SD.tipTurId, SD.tipNo, SD.desenNo, SD.varyantNo, 2) AS Expr1) + ')' AS iplikAciklama, DT.prosesOk, dbo.[fnYikamaTalimat](SP.siparisId) yikamaTalimati FROM tblDoviz AS DV WITH(NOLOCK) INNER JOIN tblDispoTerbiye AS DT WITH(NOLOCK) INNER JOIN tblTanimlar AS B WITH(NOLOCK) ON DT.iplikBoyaId = B.tanimId AND B.tanimTurId = 2 ON DV.id = DT.dovizId RIGHT OUTER JOIN tblMusteri AS M1 WITH(NOLOCK) INNER JOIN tblSiparisDetay AS SD WITH(NOLOCK) INNER JOIN tblDispo AS MD WITH(NOLOCK) ON SD.siparisDetayId = MD.siparisDetayId INNER JOIN tblTipTur AS TT WITH(NOLOCK) ON SD.tipTurId = TT.tipTurId INNER JOIN tblSiparis AS SP WITH(NOLOCK) ON SD.siparisId = SP.siparisId ON M1.musteriNo = SP.musteriNo INNER JOIN tblTip AS TP WITH(NOLOCK) ON SD.tipTurId = TP.tipTurId AND SD.tipNo = TP.tipNo AND SD.desenNo = TP.desen AND SD.varyantNo = TP.varyant INNER JOIN tblOrgu AS O WITH(NOLOCK) ON TP.orguId = O.orguId INNER JOIN tblMusteri AS M WITH(NOLOCK) INNER JOIN tblSevkiyat AS SV WITH(NOLOCK) ON M.musteriNo = SV.musteriNo INNER JOIN tblSevkDetay AS SVD WITH(NOLOCK) ON SV.sevkNo = SVD.sevkNo ON MD.mamulDispoHamSevkno = SV.sevkNo LEFT OUTER JOIN tblTop AS T WITH(NOLOCK) INNER JOIN tblDispo AS HD WITH(NOLOCK) ON T.dispoNo = HD.dispoNo AND T.dispoTuruId = HD.dispoTuruId ON SVD.dispoTuruId = T.dispoTuruId AND SVD.dispoNo = T.dispoNo AND SVD.topNo = T.topNo AND MD.siparisDetayId = HD.siparisDetayId ON DT.dispoTuruId = MD.dispoTuruId AND DT.dispoNo = MD.dispoNo LEFT OUTER JOIN tblDispoTerbiyeTest AS TS WITH(NOLOCK) ON DT.dispoTuruId = TS.dispoTuruId AND DT.dispoNo = TS.dispoNo --WHERE DT.gelisTarihi IS NULL -- OR DT.gelisTarihi > GETDATE()-30 GROUP BY MD.dispoNo, DT.partiNo, DT.iplikBoyaId, TS.mamulEn, TS.mamulGramaj, DT.gelisMetresi, DT.gelisTarihi, DT.atkiCekmesi, DT.cozguCekmesi, DT.fire, DT.fiyat, DT.aciklama, DT.sqlUserName, DT.kayitTarihi, SD.tipTurId, TT.tipTur, SD.tipNo, SD.desenNo, SD.varyantNo, SD.siparisId, SD.siparisDetayId, B.tanimAd, M.musteriAdi, M.musteriAdi, M1.musteriAdi, O.orguAd, TP.iplikAciklama, SD.miktar, MD.dispoNotu, SP.mamulTermin, DT.dovizId, DV.dovizCins, MD.dispoMetresi, MD.akisNotu, SV.sevkNo, SV.sevkTarihi, DT.prosesOk,SP.siparisId )

  • TFS Integration with Rational ClearQuest and Requirement Manager

    - by Kangkan
    I am working on an integration approach for integrating Rationa (IBM Jazz) Requirement Manager (RM) and Clear Quest (CQ) with TFS. As the teams are moving from ClearCase to TFS, what we are looking at is still being able to manage the requirements in RM and manage testing using CQ. The flow will be something like: Requirements are planned and detailed in RM Create work items in TFS connected to the Requirements in RM Create design and code using VS2010 and managing the version control in TFS Creating test plans and test cases in CQ (connected to requirements in RM) Run test against builds in TFS Publish test results in CQ against builds in TFS Run reports in RM, CQ and TFS that links up the items across the platforms. I have started looking at TFS Integration platform. But shall like to have your guidance for an early resolution and better solution approach.

  • Connection to DB2 in Python

    - by Mestika
    Hi, I'm trying to create a database connection in a python script to my DB2 database. When the connection is done I've to run some different SQL statements. I googled the problem and has read the ibm_db API (http://code.google.com/p/ibm-db/wiki/APIs) but just can't seem to get it right. Here is what I got so far: import sys import getopt import timeit import multiprocessing import random import os import re import ibm_db import time from string import maketrans query_str = None conn = ibm_db.pconnect("dsn=write","usrname","secret") query_stmt = ibm_db.prepare(conn, query_str) ibm_db.execute(query_stmt, "SELECT COUNT(*) FROM accounts") result = ibm_db.fetch_assoc() print result status = ibm_db.close(conn) but I get an error. I really tried everything (or, not everything but pretty damn close) and I can't get it to work. I just need to make a automatic test python script that can test different queries with different indexes and so on and for that I need to create and remove indexes a long the way. Hope someone has a solutions or maybe knows about some example codes out there I can download and study. Thanks Mestika

  • What are the difference between Cygwin on windows and real UNIX environment

    - by Tarun
    Hi, I am a C/C++ developer. I have never done C++ programming on UNIX, I have done only on windows. I want to practice C++ on Unix. (Because all big companies ask C++ with Unix). I have a laptop on which i do not want to install any other OS (because i have installed very important software on it and i don't have setups) So, I searched and found CygWin which is Unix emulator for Windows. I am thinking to practice C++ on this. Please help me, how can I practice/learn in more close to the environment(Unix Environment) that is used in Big companies like IBM. What will be the difference between Unix and Cygwin?

    The IBM Toolkit for MPEG-4 comes with the following paragraph in its licence: Rights In Data You assign to IBM all right, title, and interest (including ownership of copyright) in any data, suggestions, and written materials that 1) is related to Your use of the Program and 2) You provide to IBM. If IBM requires it, You will sign an appropriate document to assign such rights. Neither party will charge the other for rights in data or any work performed as a result of this Agreement. Correct me if I am wrong, but I'm understanding that I cannot use their toolkit without give them rights on my software?

  • closing MQ connection

    - by OakvilleWork
    Good afternoon, I wrote a project to Get Park Queue Info from the IBM MQ, it has producing an error when attempting to close the connection though. It is written in java. Under application in Event Viewer on the MQ machine it displays two errors. They are: “Channel program ended abnormally. Channel program ‘system.def.surconn’ ended abnormally. Look at previous error messages for channel program ‘system.def.surconn’ in the error files to determine the cause of the failure. The other message states: “Error on receive from host rnanaj (10.10.12.34) An error occurred receiving data from rnanaj (10.10.12.34) over tcp/ip. This may be due to a communications failure. The return code from tcp/ip recv() call was 10054 (X’2746’). Record these values.” This must be something how I try to connect or close the connection, below I have my code to connect and close, any ideas?? Connect: _logger.info("Start"); File outputFile = new File(System.getProperty("PROJECT_HOME"), "run/" + this.getClass().getSimpleName() + "." + System.getProperty("qmgr") + ".txt"); FileUtils.mkdirs(outputFile.getParentFile()); Connection jmsConn = null; Session jmsSession = null; QueueBrowser queueBrowser = null; BufferedWriter commandsBw = null; try { // get queue connection MQConnectionFactory MQConn = new MQConnectionFactory(); MQConn.setHostName(System.getProperty("host")); MQConn.setPort(Integer.valueOf(System.getProperty("port"))); MQConn.setQueueManager(System.getProperty("qmgr")); MQConn.setChannel("SYSTEM.DEF.SVRCONN"); MQConn.setTransportType(JMSC.MQJMS_TP_CLIENT_MQ_TCPIP); jmsConn = (Connection) MQConn.createConnection(); jmsSession = jmsConn.createSession(false, Session.AUTO_ACKNOWLEDGE); Queue jmsQueue = jmsSession.createQueue("PARK"); // browse thru messages queueBrowser = jmsSession.createBrowser(jmsQueue); Enumeration msgEnum = queueBrowser.getEnumeration(); commandsBw = new BufferedWriter(new FileWriter(outputFile)); // String line = "DateTime\tMsgID\tOrigMsgID\tCorrelationID\tComputerName\tSubsystem\tDispatcherName\tProcessor\tJobID\tErrorMsg"; commandsBw.write(line); commandsBw.newLine(); while (msgEnum.hasMoreElements()) { Message message = (Message) msgEnum.nextElement(); line = dateFormatter.format(new Date(message.getJMSTimestamp())) + "\t" + message.getJMSMessageID() + "\t" + message.getStringProperty("pkd_orig_jms_msg_id") + "\t" + message.getJMSCorrelationID() + "\t" + message.getStringProperty("pkd_computer_name") + "\t" + message.getStringProperty("pkd_subsystem") + "\t" + message.getStringProperty("pkd_dispatcher_name") + "\t" + message.getStringProperty("pkd_processor") + "\t" + message.getStringProperty("pkd_job_id") + "\t" + message.getStringProperty("pkd_sysex_msg"); _logger.info(line); commandsBw.write(line); commandsBw.newLine(); } } Close: finally { IO.close(commandsBw); if (queueBrowser != null) { try { queueBrowser.close();} catch (Exception ignore) {}} if (jmsSession != null) { try { jmsSession.close();} catch (Exception ignore) {}} if (jmsConn != null) { try { jmsConn.stop();} catch (Exception ignore) {}} }

  • A brief note for customers running SOA Suite on AIX platforms

    - by christian
    When running Oracle SOA Suite with IBM JVMs on the AIX platform, we have seen performance slowdowns and/or memory leaks. On occasion, we have even encountered some OutOfMemoryError conditions and the concomittant Java coredump. If you are experiencing this issue, the resolution may be to configure -Dsun.reflect.inflationThreshold=0 in your JVM startup parameters. https://www.ibm.com/developerworks/java/library/j-nativememory-aix/ contains a detailed discussion of the IBM AIX JVM memory model, but I will summarize my interpretation and understanding of it in the context of SOA Suite, below. Java ClassLoaders on IBM JVMs are allocated a native memory area into which they are anticipated to map such things as jars loaded from the filesystem. This is an excellent memory optimization, as the file can be loaded into memory once and then shared amongst many JVMs on the same host, allowing for excellent horizontal scalability on AIX hosts. However, Java ClassLoaders are not used exclusively for loading files from disk. A performance optimization by the Oracle Java language developers enables reflectively accessed data to optimize from a JNI call into Java bytecodes which are then amenable to hotspot optimizations, amongst other things. This performance optimization is called inflation, and it is executed by generating a sun.reflect.DelegatingClassLoader instance dynamically to inject the Java bytecode into the virtual machine. It is generally considered an excellent optimization. However, it interacts very negatively with the native memory area allocated by the IBM JVM, effectively locking out memory that could otherwise be used by the Java process. SOA Suite and WebLogic are both very large users of reflection code. They reflectively use many code paths in their operation, generating lots of DelegatingClassLoaders in normal operation. The IBM JVM slowdown and subsequent OutOfMemoryError are as a direct result of the Java memory consumed by the DelegatingClassLoader instances generated by SOA Suite and WebLogic. Java garbage collection runs more frequently to try and keep memory available, until it can no longer do so and throws OutOfMemoryError. The setting sun.reflect.inflationThreshold=0 disables this optimization entirely, never allowing the JVM to generate the optimized reflection code. IBM JVMs are susceptible to this issue primarily because all Java ClassLoaders have this native memory allocation, which is shared with the regular Java heap. Oracle JVMs don't automatically give all ClassLoaders a native memory area, and my understanding is that jar files are never mapped completely from shared memory in the same way as IBM does it. This results in different behaviour characteristics on IBM vs Oracle JVMs.

  • What IDE(s) or editor(s) do companies like Google, Apple, IBM, etc. use?

    - by Pius
    Even though I have quite some experience in using various tools, I still can't make up my mind whether I prefer using IDE or a simple editor for code editing. Most IDEs I have experienced are written in Java (like Eclipse) which makes them slow and bulky. What's good about them is that it provides lots of tools. On the other hand editors are usually VERY fast. They can also be extended to become more similar to IDEs but usually I don't do that. However, there is Sublime Text 2 which has some basic code completion built-in. My question would be whether most Enterprise companies like Google, Apple, IBM and etc (except Microsoft because they have AMAZING IDE which, I assume, is used by MS developers) force their workers to use IDEs and whether using plain editor with external tools is considered being not professional? P.S. Not talking about cases like Android development where working without IDE barely possible.

  • SPARC T3-1 Record Results Running JD Edwards EnterpriseOne Day in the Life Benchmark with Added Batch Component

    - by Brian
    Using Oracle's SPARC T3-1 server for the application tier and Oracle's SPARC Enterprise M3000 server for the database tier, a world record result was produced running the Oracle's JD Edwards EnterpriseOne applications Day in the Life benchmark run concurrently with a batch workload. The SPARC T3-1 server based result has 25% better performance than the IBM Power 750 POWER7 server even though the IBM result did not include running a batch component. The SPARC T3-1 server based result has 25% better space/performance than the IBM Power 750 POWER7 server as measured by the online component. The SPARC T3-1 server based result is 5x faster than the x86-based IBM x3650 M2 server system when executing the online component of the JD Edwards EnterpriseOne 9.0.1 Day in the Life benchmark. The IBM result did not include a batch component. The SPARC T3-1 server based result has 2.5x better space/performance than the x86-based IBM x3650 M2 server as measured by the online component. The combination of SPARC T3-1 and SPARC Enterprise M3000 servers delivered a Day in the Life benchmark result of 5000 online users with 0.875 seconds of average transaction response time running concurrently with 19 Universal Batch Engine (UBE) processes at 10 UBEs/minute. The solution exercises various JD Edwards EnterpriseOne applications while running Oracle WebLogic Server 11g Release 1 and Oracle Web Tier Utilities 11g HTTP server in Oracle Solaris Containers, together with the Oracle Database 11g Release 2. The SPARC T3-1 server showed that it could handle the additional workload of batch processing while maintaining the same number of online users for the JD Edwards EnterpriseOne Day in the Life benchmark. This was accomplished with minimal loss in response time. JD Edwards EnterpriseOne 9.0.1 takes advantage of the large number of compute threads available in the SPARC T3-1 server at the application tier and achieves excellent response times. The SPARC T3-1 server consolidates the application/web tier of the JD Edwards EnterpriseOne 9.0.1 application using Oracle Solaris Containers. Containers provide flexibility, easier maintenance and better CPU utilization of the server leaving processing capacity for additional growth. A number of Oracle advanced technology and features were used to obtain this result: Oracle Solaris 10, Oracle Solaris Containers, Oracle Java Hotspot Server VM, Oracle WebLogic Server 11g Release 1, Oracle Web Tier Utilities 11g, Oracle Database 11g Release 2, the SPARC T3 and SPARC64 VII+ based servers. This is the first published result running both online and batch workload concurrently on the JD Enterprise Application server. No published results are available from IBM running the online component together with a batch workload. The 9.0.1 version of the benchmark saw some minor performance improvements relative to 9.0. When comparing between 9.0.1 and 9.0 results, the reader should take this into account when the difference between results is small. Performance Landscape JD Edwards EnterpriseOne Day in the Life Benchmark Online with Batch Workload This is the first publication on the Day in the Life benchmark run concurrently with batch jobs. Oracle offers 70 JD Edwards EnterpriseOne application modules to support a diverse set of business operations. Oracle's Day in the Life (DIL) kit is a suite of scripts that exercises most common transactions of JD Edwards EnterpriseOne applications, including business processes such as payroll, sales order, purchase order, work order, and other manufacturing processes, such as ship confirmation. These are labeled by industry acronyms such as SCM, CRM, HCM, SRM and FMS. The kit's scripts execute transactions typical of a mid-sized manufacturing company. The workload consists of online transactions and the UBE workload of 15 short and 4 long UBEs. LoadRunner runs the DIL workload, collects the user’s transactions response times and reports the key metric of Combined Weighted Average Transaction Response time. The UBE processes workload runs from the JD Enterprise Application server. Oracle's UBE processes come as three flavors: Short UBEs < 1 minute engage in Business Report and Summary Analysis, Mid UBEs > 1 minute create a large report of Account, Balance, and Full Address, Long UBEs > 2 minutes simulate Payroll, Sales Order, night only jobs. The UBE workload generates large numbers of PDF files reports and log files. The UBE Queues are categorized as the QBATCHD, a single threaded queue for large UBEs, and the QPROCESS queue for short UBEs run concurrently. One of the Oracle Solaris Containers ran 4 Long UBEs, while another Container ran 15 short UBEs concurrently. The mixed size UBEs ran concurrently from the SPARC T3-1 server with the 5000 online users driven by the LoadRunner. • Using Sql Server Change Data Capture with a frequently changing schema

    - by Pete
    We are looking into enabling Sql Server Change Data Capture for a new subsystem we are building. It's not really because we need it, but we are being pushed for having a complete history traceability, and CDC would nicely solve this requirement with minimum effort on our parts. We are following an agile development process, which in this case means that we frequently make changes to the database schema, e.g. adding new columns, moving data to other columns, etc. We did a small test where we created a table, enabled CDC for that table, and then added a new column to the table. Changes to the new column is not registered in the CDC table. Is there a mechanism to update the CDC table to the new schema, and are there any best practices to how you deal with captured data when migrating the database schema?

  • Story of success: MySQL Enterprise Backup (MEB) was successfully integrated with IBM Tivoli Storage Manager (TSM) via System Backup to Tape (SBT) interface.

    - by user13334359
    Since version 3.6 MEB supports backups to tape through the SBT interface.The officially supported tool for such backups to tape is Oracle Secure Backup (OSB).But there are a lot of other Storage Managers. MEB allows to use them through the SBT interface. Since version 3.7 it also has option --sbt-environment which allows to pass environment variables, not needed by OSB, to third-party managers. At the same time MEB can not guarantee it would work with all of them.This month we were contacted by a customer who wanted to use IBM Tivoli Storage Manager (TSM) with MEB. We could only say them same thing I wrote in previous paragraph: this solution is supposed to work, but you have to be pioneers of this technology. And they agreed. They agreed to be the pioneers and so the story begins.MEB requires following options to be specified by those who want to connect it to SBT interface:--sbt-database-name: a name which should be handed over to SBT interface. This can be any name. Default, MySQL, works for most cases, so user is not required to specify this option.--sbt-lib-path: path to SBT library. For TSM this library comes with "Data Protection for Oracle", which, in its turn, interfaces with Oracle Recovery Manager (RMAN), which uses SBT interface. So you need to install it even if you don't use Oracle.--sbt-environment: environment for third-party manager. This option is not needed when you use OSB, but almost always necessary for third-party SBT managers. TSM requires variable TDPO_OPTFILE to be set and point to the TSM configuration file.--backup-image=sbt:: path to the image. Prefix "sbt:" indicates that image should be sent through SBT interfaceSo full command in our case would look like: ./mysqlbackup --port=3307 --protocol=tcp --user=backup_user --password=foobar \ --backup-image=sbt:my-first-backup --sbt-lib-path=/usr/lib/libobk.so \ --sbt-environment="TDPO_OPTFILE=/path/to/my/tdpo.opt" --backup-dir=/path/to/my/dir backup-to-imageAnd this command results in the following output log: MySQL Enterprise Backup version 3.7.1 [2012/02/16] Copyright (c) 2003, 2012, Oracle and/or its affiliates. All Rights Reserved. INFO: Starting with following command line ...  ./mysqlbackup --port=3307 --protocol=tcp --user=backup_user         --password=foobar --backup-image=sbt:my-first-backup         --sbt-lib-path=/usr/lib/libobk.so         --sbt-environment="TDPO_OPTFILE=/path/to/my/tdpo.opt"         --backup-dir=/path/to/my/dir backup-to-image sbt-environment: 'TDPO_OPTFILE=/path/to/my/tdpo.opt' INFO: Got some server configuration information from running server. • JSF html component on WebSphere 7.0

    - by Mike Schall
    We are in the process of upgrading to WebSphere 7.0 on Windows 2008 R2. Our applications currently run on WebSphere 6.1 on Windows 2003. We use custom controls we wrote using JSF 1.1 in our applications. Our controls seem to render and interact fine, however whenever we use a JSF HTML component such as: <%@ taglib uri="http://java.sun.com/jsf/html" prefix="h"%> ... <h:graphicImage url="#{MenuBean.bannerImagePath}" /> We get the following error: com.ibm.ws.jsp.JspCoreException: Unable to convert string '#{MenuBean.bannerImagePath}' to class javax.el.ValueExpression for attribute url: java.lang.IllegalArgumentException: Property Editor not registered with the PropertyEditorManager com.ibm.ws.jsp.JspCoreException: Unable to convert string '#{MenuBean.bannerImagePath}' to class javax.el.ValueExpression for attribute url: java.lang.IllegalArgumentException: Property Editor not registered with the PropertyEditorManager at org.apache.jasper.runtime.JspRuntimeLibrary.getValueFromPropertyEditorManager(JspRuntimeLibrary.java:939) at com.ibm._jsp._dashboard._jspx_meth_h_graphicImage_0(_dashboard.java:136) at com.ibm._jsp._dashboard._jspx_meth_f_view_0(_dashboard.java:436) at com.ibm._jsp._dashboard._jspService(_dashboard.java:109) at com.ibm.ws.jsp.runtime.HttpJspBase.service(HttpJspBase.java:98) at javax.servlet.http.HttpServlet.service(HttpServlet.java:831) at com.ibm.ws.webcontainer.servlet.ServletWrapper.service(ServletWrapper.java:1583) at com.ibm.ws.webcontainer.servlet.ServletWrapper.service(ServletWrapper.java:1523) I have found an article on IBM's website giving a possible fix: http://www-01.ibm.com/support/docview.wss?uid=swg21318801 However I have removed the specified jars and am still receiving the error message. Again our custom controls seem to work fine under WebSphere 7's JSF 1.2. Thanks for any help you can provide. Mike
