  • apache with php fastcgi keeps going down

    - by Josh Nankin
    I have an apache2 server configured with MPM worker and php fast cgi. Lately the apache logs have been telling me that MaxClients is being reached frequently, even though it's already pretty high. My server is now constantly going down, and I see a bunch of lines like this in the log: [Sun Mar 06 04:25:40 2011] [error] [client 50.16.83.115] FastCGI: comm with (dynamic) server "/var/local/fcgi/php-cgi-wrapper.fcgi" aborted: (first read) idle timeout (20 sec) [Sun Mar 06 04:25:40 2011] [error] [client 50.16.83.115] FastCGI: incomplete headers (0 bytes) received from server "/var/local/fcgi/php-cgi-wrapper.fcgi" I can see that my php-cgi processes are pretty large (about 70mb on average). Here's my apache configuration for MPM worker: KeepAlive ON KeepAliveTimeout 2 <IfModule mpm_worker_module> StartServers 5 MinSpareThreads 10 MaxSpareThreads 10 ThreadLimit 64 ThreadsPerChild 10 MaxClients 20 MaxRequestsPerChild 2000 </IfModule> Heres my fastcgi apache configuration: <IfModule mod_fastcgi.c> # One shared PHP-managed fastcgi for all sites Alias /fcgi /var/local/fcgi # IMPORTANT: without this we get more than one instance # of our wrapper, which itself spawns 20 PHP processes, so # that would be Bad (tm) FastCgiConfig -idle-timeout 20 -maxClassProcesses 1 <Directory /var/local/fcgi> # Use the + so we don't clobber other options that # may be needed. You might want FollowSymLinks here Options +ExecCGI </Directory> AddType application/x-httpd-php5 .php AddHandler fastcgi-script .fcgi Action application/x-httpd-php5 /fcgi/php-cgi-wrapper.fcgi </IfModule> Here's my fastcgi wrapper: #!/bin/sh PHPRC="/etc/php5/apache2" export PHPRC PHP_FCGI_CHILDREN=8 export PHP_FCGI_CHILDREN exec /usr/bin/php-cgi Any help would be very very much appreciated!

  • Uploading documents to WSS (Windows Sharepoint Services) using SSIS

    - by Randy Aldrich Paulo
    Recently I was tasked to create an SSIS application that will query a database, split the results with certain criteria and create CSV file for every result and upload the file to a Sharepoint Document Library site. I've search the web and compiled the steps I've taken to build the solution. Summary: A) Create a proxy class of WSS Copy.asmx. B) Create a wrapper class for the proxy class and add a mechanism to check if the file is existing and delete method. C) Create an SSIS and call the wrapper class to transfer the files.   A) Creating Proxy Class 1) Go to Visual Studio Command Prompt type wsdl http://[sharepoint site]/_vti_bin/Copy.asmx this will generate the proxy class (Copy.cs) that will be added to the solution. 2) Add Copy.cs to solution and create another constructor for Copy() that will accept additional parameters url, userName, password and domain.   public Copy(string url, string userName, string password, string domain) { this.Url = url; this.Credentials = new System.Net.NetworkCredential(userName, password, domain); } 3) Add a namespace.     B) Wrapper Class Create a C# new library that references the Proxy Class.         C) Create SSIS SSIS solution is composed of:   1) Execute SQL Task, returns a single column rows containing the criteria. 2) Foreach Loop Container - loops per result from query (SQL Task) and creates a CSV file on a certain folder. 3) Script Task - calls the wrapper class to upload CSV files located on a certain folder to targer WSS Document Library Note: I've created another overload of CopyFiles that accepts a Directory Info instead of file location that loops thru the contents of the folder. • Expected time for lazy evaluation with nested functions?

    - by Matt_JD
    A colleague and I are doing a free R course, although I believe this is a more general lazy evaluation issue, and have found a scenario that we have discussed briefly and I'd like to find out the answer from a wider community. The scenario is as follows (pseudo code): wrapper => function(thing) { print => function() { write(thing) } } v = createThing(1, 2, 3) w = wrapper(v) v = createThing(4, 5, 6) w.print() // Will print 4, 5, 6 thing. v = create(7, 8, 9) w.print() // Will print 4, 5, 6 because "thing" has now been evaluated. Another similar situation is as follows: // Using the same function as above v = createThing(1, 2, 3) v = wrapper(v) w.print() // The wrapper function incestuously includes itself. Now I understand why this happens but where my colleague and I differ is on what should happen. My colleague's view is that this is a bug and the evaluation of the passed in argument should be forced at the point it is passed in so that the returned "w" function is fixed. My view is that I would prefer his option myself, but that I realise that the situation we are encountering is down to lazy evaluation and this is just how it works and is more a quirk than a bug. I am not actually sure of what would be expected, hence the reason I am asking this question. I think that function comments could express what will happen, or leave it to be very lazy, and if the coder using the function wants the argument evaluated then they can force it before passing it in. So, when working with lazy evaulation, what is the practice for the time to evaluate an argument passed, and stored, inside a function?

  • Help: Android paint/canvas issue; drawing smooth curves

    - by Wrapper
    How do I get smooth curves instead of dots or circles, when I draw with my finger on the touch screen, in Android? I am using the following code- public class DrawView extends View implements OnTouchListener { private static final String TAG = "DrawView"; List<Point> points = new ArrayList<Point>(); Paint paint = new Paint(); public DrawView(Context context) { super(context); setFocusable(true); setFocusableInTouchMode(true); this.setOnTouchListener(this); paint.setColor(Color.WHITE); paint.setAntiAlias(true); } @Override public void onDraw(Canvas canvas) { for (Point point : points) { canvas.drawCircle(point.x, point.y, 5, paint); // Log.d(TAG, "Painting: "+point); } } public boolean onTouch(View view, MotionEvent event) { // if(event.getAction() != MotionEvent.ACTION_DOWN) // return super.onTouchEvent(event); Point point = new Point(); point.x = event.getX(); point.y = event.getY(); points.add(point); invalidate(); Log.d(TAG, "point: " + point); return true; } } class Point { float x, y; @Override public String toString() { return x + ", " + y; } }

  • How to fix flicker when using Webkit transforms & transitions

    - by gargantaun
    I have a very simple demo working that uses Webkit transforms and transitions for smooth horizontal scrolling between 'panels' (divs). The reason I want to go this route as opposed to a Javascript driven system is that it's for the iPad and Javascript performance is quite poor, but the css transforms and transitions are smooth as silk. Sadly though, I'm getting a lot of flicker on the iPad with my Demo. You can see the demo here You'll need safari or and iPad to see it in action. I've never seen this happening in any of the demos for transforms and transitions so I'm hopeful that this is fixable. Anyway here's the code that powers the thing.... The HTML looks like this. <html> <head> <title>Swipe Demo</title> <link href="test.css" rel="stylesheet" /> <link href="styles.css" rel="stylesheet" /> <script type="text/javascript" src="jquery.js"></script> <script type="text/javascript" src="functions.js"></script> <script type="text/javascript" src="swiping.js"></script> </head> <body> <div id="wrapper"> <div class='panel one'> <h1>This is panel 1</h1> </div> <div class='panel two'> <h1>This is panel 2</h1> </div> <div class='panel three'> <h1>This is panel 3</h1> </div> <div class='panel four'> <h1>This is panel 4</h1> </div> </div> </body> </html> The CSS looks like this body, html { padding: 0; margin: 0; background: #000; } #wrapper { width: 10000px; -webkit-transform: translateX(0px); } .panel { width: 1024px; height: 300px; background: #fff; display: block; float: left; position: relative; } and the javascript looks like this // Mouse / iPad Touch var touchSupport = (typeof Touch == "object"), touchstart = touchSupport ? 'touchstart' : 'mousedown', touchmove = touchSupport ? 'touchmove' : 'mousemove', touchend = touchSupport ? 'touchend' : 'mouseup'; $(document).ready(function(){ // set top and left to zero $("#wrapper").css("top", 0); $("#wrapper").css("left", 0); // get total number of panels var panelTotal; $(".panel").each(function(){ panelTotal += 1 }); // Touch Start // ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ var touchStartX; var touchStartY; var currentX; var currentY; var shouldMove = false; document.addEventListener(touchstart, swipeStart, false); function swipeStart(event){ touch = realEventType(event); touchStartX = touch.pageX; touchStartY = touch.pageY; var pos = $("#wrapper").position(); currentX = parseInt(pos.left); currentY = parseInt(pos.top); shouldMove = true; } // Touch Move // ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ var touchMoveX; var touchMoveY; var distanceX; var distanceY; document.addEventListener(touchmove, swipeMove, false); function swipeMove(event){ if(shouldMove){ touch = realEventType(event); event.preventDefault(); touchMoveX = touch.pageX; touchMoveY = touch.pageY; distanceX = touchMoveX - touchStartX; distanceY = touchMoveY - touchStartY; movePanels(distanceX); } } function movePanels(distance){ newX = currentX + (distance/4); $("#wrapper").css("left", newX); } // Touch End // ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ var cutOff = 100; var panelIndex = 0; document.addEventListener(touchend, swipeEnd, false); function swipeEnd(event){ touch = (touchSupport) ? event.changedTouches[0] : event; var touchEndX = touch.pageX; var touchEndY = touch.pageY; updatePanelIndex(distanceX); gotToPanel(); shouldMove = false; } // -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- function updatePanelIndex(distance){ if(distanceX > cutOff) panelIndex -= 1; if(distanceX < (cutOff * -1)){ panelIndex += 1; } if(panelIndex < 0){ panelIndex = 0; } if(panelIndex >= panelTotal) panelIndex = panelTotal -1; console.log(panelIndex); } // -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- function gotToPanel(){ var panelPos = getTotalWidthOfElement($(".panel")) * panelIndex * -1; $("#wrapper").css("-webkit-transition-property", "translateX"); $("#wrapper").css("-webkit-transition-duration", "1s"); $("#wrapper").css("-webkit-transform", "translateX("+panelPos+"px)"); } }); function realEventType(event){ e = (touchSupport) ? event.targetTouches[0] : event; return e; }

  • Playing Multiple sounds at the same time in Android

    - by Wrapper
    I am unable to use the following to code to play multiple sounds/beeps simultaneously. In my onclicklistener I have added ... public void onClick(View v) { mSoundManager.playSound(1); mSoundManager.playSound(2); } ... But this plays only one sound at a time, sound with index 1 followed by sound with index 2. How can I play atleast 2 sounds simultaneously using this code whenever there is an onClick() event? public class SoundManager { private SoundPool mSoundPool; private HashMap<Integer, Integer> mSoundPoolMap; private AudioManager mAudioManager; private Context mContext; public SoundManager() { } public void initSounds(Context theContext) { mContext = theContext; mSoundPool = new SoundPool(4, AudioManager.STREAM_MUSIC, 0); mSoundPoolMap = new HashMap<Integer, Integer>(); mAudioManager = (AudioManager)mContext.getSystemService(Context.AUDIO_SERVICE); } public void addSound(int Index,int SoundID) { mSoundPoolMap.put(1, mSoundPool.load(mContext, SoundID, 1)); } public void playSound(int index) { int streamVolume = mAudioManager.getStreamVolume(AudioManager.STREAM_MUSIC); mSoundPool.play(mSoundPoolMap.get(index), streamVolume, streamVolume, 1, 0, 1f); } public void playLoopedSound(int index) { int streamVolume = mAudioManager.getStreamVolume(AudioManager.STREAM_MUSIC); mSoundPool.play(mSoundPoolMap.get(index), streamVolume, streamVolume, 1, -1, 1f); } }

  • Good book/resource recommendation for HTML5 mobile game development?

    - by Greg Bala
    The problem: I am taking an existing, 5 year old, html based MMORTS game and "HTML5-ing" it, "AJAX-ing" it and most importantly, optimizing for mobile devices like iPhone, android etc. For these devices, the application will be packaged as a downloadable app that is a wrapper for a browser which actually shows the game.. The Question Looking for a good book, or books, or in-depth articles that would help me learn: what tools I have in iOS, andriod applications for optimizing an html based game. things like caching of images, etc what kind of connectivity, or interactivity I can expect between the html/javascript pages and the wrapper - can I play sounds in the wrapper by triggering them from javascript? etc tip and tricks to optimize html/html5 & Javascript application to run well on mobile devices ETC :) Any recommendations would be greatly appreciated!!

  • Building a jQuery Plug-in to make an HTML Table scrollable

    - by Rick Strahl
    Today I got a call from a customer and we were looking over an older application that uses a lot of tables to display financial and other assorted data. The application is mostly meta-data driven with lots of layout formatting automatically driven through meta data rather than through explicit hand coded HTML layouts. One of the problems in this apps are tables that display a non-fixed amount of data. The users of this app don't want to use paging to see more data, but instead want to display overflow data using a scrollbar. Many of the forms are very densely populated, often with multiple data tables that display a few rows of data in the UI at the most. This sort of layout does not lend itself well to paging, but works much better with scrollable data. Unfortunately scrollable tables are not easily created. HTML Tables are mangy beasts as anybody who's done any sort of Web development knows. Tables are finicky when it comes to styling and layout, and they have many funky quirks, especially when it comes to scrolling both of the table rows themselves or even the child columns. There's no built-in way to make tables scroll and to lock headers while you do, and while you can embed a table (or anything really) into a scrolling div with something like this: <div style="position:relative; overflow: hidden; overflow-y: scroll; height: 200px; width: 400px;"> <table id="table" style="width: 100%" class="blackborder" > <thead> <tr class="gridheader"> <th>Column 1</th> <th>Column 2</th> <th>Column 3</th> <th >Column 4</th> </tr> </thead> <tbody> <tr> <td>Column 1 Content</td> <td>Column 2 Content</td> <td>Column 3 Content</td> <td>Column 4 Content</td> </tr> <tr> <td>Column 1 Content</td> <td>Column 2 Content</td> <td>Column 3 Content</td> <td>Column 4 Content</td> </tr> … </tbody> </table> </div> </div> that won't give a very satisfying visual experience: Both the header and body scroll which looks odd. You lose context as soon as the header scrolls off the top and when you reach the bottom of the list the bottom outline of the table shows which also looks off. The the side bar shows all the way down the length of the table yet another visual miscue. In a pinch this will work, but it's ugly. What's out there? Before we go further here you should know that there are a few capable grid plug-ins out there already. Among them: Flexigrid (can work of any table as well as with AJAX data) jQuery Scrollable Table Plug-in (feature similar to what I need but not quite) jqGrid (mostly an Ajax Grid which is very powerful and works very well) But in the end none of them fit the bill of what I needed in this situation. All of these require custom CSS and some of them are fairly complex to restyle. Others are AJAX only or work better with AJAX loaded data. However, I need to actually try (as much as possible) to maintain the original styling of the tables without requiring extensive re-styling. Building the makeTableScrollable() Plug-in To make a table scrollable requires rearranging the table a bit. In the plug-in I built I create two <div> tags and split the table into two: one for the table header and one for the table body. The bottom <div> tag then contains only the table's row data and can be scrolled while the header stays fixed. Using jQuery the basic idea is pretty simple: You create the divs, copy the original table into the bottom, then clone the table, clear all content append the <thead> section, into new table and then copy that table into the second header <div>. Easy as pie, right? Unfortunately it's a bit more complicated than that as it's tricky to get the width of the table right to account for the scrollbar (by adding a small column) and making sure the borders properly line up for the two tables. A lot of style settings have to be made to ensure the table is a fixed size, to remove and reattach borders, to add extra space to allow for the scrollbar and so forth. The end result of my plug-in is a table with a scrollbar. Using the same table I used earlier the result looks like this: To create it, I use the following jQuery plug-in logic to select my table and run the makeTableScrollable() plug-in against the selector: $("#table").makeTableScrollable( { cssClass:"blackborder"} ); Without much further ado, here's the short code for the plug-in: (function ($) { $.fn.makeTableScrollable = function (options) { return this.each(function () { var $table = $(this); var opt = { // height of the table height: "250px", // right padding added to support the scrollbar rightPadding: "10px", // cssclass used for the wrapper div cssClass: "" } $.extend(opt, options); var $thead = $table.find("thead"); var $ths = $thead.find("th"); var id = $table.attr("id"); var cssClass = $table.attr("class"); if (!id) id = "_table_" + new Date().getMilliseconds().ToString(); $table.width("+=" + opt.rightPadding); $table.css("border-width", 0); // add a column to all rows of the table var first = true; $table.find("tr").each(function () { var row = $(this); if (first) { row.append($("<th>").width(opt.rightPadding)); first = false; } else row.append($("<td>").width(opt.rightPadding)); }); // force full sizing on each of the th elemnts $ths.each(function () { var $th = $(this); $th.css("width", $th.width()); }); // Create the table wrapper div var $tblDiv = $("<div>").css({ position: "relative", overflow: "hidden", overflowY: "scroll" }) .addClass(opt.cssClass); var width = $table.width(); $tblDiv.width(width).height(opt.height) .attr("id", id + "_wrapper") .css("border-top", "none"); // Insert before $tblDiv $tblDiv.insertBefore($table); // then move the table into it $table.appendTo($tblDiv); // Clone the div for header var $hdDiv = $tblDiv.clone(); $hdDiv.empty(); var width = $table.width(); $hdDiv.attr("style", "") .css("border-bottom", "none") .width(width) .attr("id", id + "_wrapper_header"); // create a copy of the table and remove all children var $newTable = $($table).clone(); $newTable.empty() .attr("id", $table.attr("id") + "_header"); $thead.appendTo($newTable); $hdDiv.insertBefore($tblDiv); $newTable.appendTo($hdDiv); $table.css("border-width", 0); }); } })(jQuery); Oh sweet spaghetti code :-) The code starts out by dealing the parameters that can be passed in the options object map: height The height of the full table/structure. The height of the outside wrapper container. Defaults to 200px. rightPadding The padding that is added to the right of the table to account for the scrollbar. Creates a column of this width and injects it into the table. If too small the rightmost column might get truncated. if too large the empty column might show. cssClass The CSS class of the wrapping container that appears to wrap the table. If you want a border around your table this class should probably provide it since the plug-in removes the table border. The rest of the code is obtuse, but pretty straight forward. It starts by creating a new column in the table to accommodate the width of the scrollbar and avoid clipping of text in the rightmost column. The width of the columns is explicitly set in the header elements to force the size of the table to be fixed and to provide the same sizing when the THEAD section is moved to a new copied table later. The table wrapper div is created, formatted and the table is moved into it. The new wrapper div is cloned for the header wrapper and configured. Finally the actual table is cloned and cleared of all elements. The original table's THEAD section is then moved into the new table. At last the new table is added to the header <div>, and the header <div> is inserted before the table wrapper <div>. I'm always amazed how easy jQuery makes it to do this sort of re-arranging, and given of what's happening the amount of code is rather small. Disclaimer: Your mileage may vary A word of warning: I make no guarantees about the code above. It's a first cut and I provided this here mainly to demonstrate the concepts of decomposing and reassembling an HTML layout :-) which jQuery makes so nice and easy. I tested this component against the typical scenarios we plan on using it for which are tables that use a few well known styles (or no styling at all). I suspect if you have complex styling on your <table> tag that things might not go so well. If you plan on using this plug-in you might want to minimize your styling of the table tag and defer any border formatting using the class passed in via the cssClass parameter, which ends up on the two wrapper div's that wrap the header and body rows. There's also no explicit support for footers. I rarely if ever use footers (when not using paging that is), so I didn't feel the need to add footer support. However, if you need that it's not difficult to add - the logic is the same as adding the header. The plug-in relies on a well-formatted table that has THEAD and TBODY sections along with TH tags in the header. Note that ASP.NET WebForm DataGrids and GridViews by default do not generate well-formatted table HTML. You can look at my Adding proper THEAD sections to a GridView post for more info on how to get a GridView to render properly. The plug-in has no dependencies other than jQuery. Even with the limitations in mind I hope this might be useful to some of you. I know I've already identified a number of places in my own existing applications where I will be plugging this in almost immediately. • Exploring packages in code

    In my previous post Searching for tasks with code you can see how to explore the control flow side of packages, drilling down through containers, task, and event handlers, but it didn’t cover the data flow. I recently saw a post on the MSDN forum asking how to edit an existing package programmatically, and the sticking point was how to find the the data flow and the components inside. This post builds on some of the previous code and shows how you can explore all objects inside a package. I took the sample Task Search application I’d written previously, and came up with a totally pointless little console application that just walks through the package and writes out the basic type and name of every object it finds, starting with the package itself e.g. Package – MyPackage . The sample package we used last time showed nested objects as well an event handler; a OnPreExecute event tucked away on the task SQL In FEL. The output of this sample tool would look like this: PackageObjects v1.0.0.0 (1.0.0.26627) Copyright (C) 2009 Konesans Ltd Processing File - Z:\Users\Darren Green\Documents\Visual Studio 2005\Projects\SSISTestProject\EventsAndContainersWithExe cSQLForSearch.dtsx Package - EventsAndContainersWithExecSQLForSearch For Loop - FOR Counter Loop Task - SQL In Counter Loop Sequence Container - SEQ For Each Loop Wrapper For Each Loop - FEL Simple Loop Task - SQL In FEL Task - SQL On Pre Execute for FEL SQL Task Sequence Container - SEQ Top Level Sequence Container - SEQ Nested Lvl 1 Sequence Container - SEQ Nested Lvl 2 Task - SQL In Nested Lvl 2 Task - SQL In Nested Lvl 1 #1 Task - SQL In Nested Lvl 1 #2 Connection Manager – LocalHost The code is very similar to what we had previously, but there are a couple of extra bits to deal with connections and to look more closely at a task and see if it is a Data Flow task. For connections your just examine the package's Connections collection as shown in the abridged snippets below. First you can see the call to the ProcessConnections method, followed by the method itself. // Load the package file Application application = new Application(); using (Package package = application.LoadPackage(filename, null)) { // Write out the package name Console.WriteLine("Package - {0}", package.Name); ... More ... // Look and the connections ProcessConnections(package.Connections); } private static void ProcessConnections(Connections connections) { foreach (ConnectionManager connectionManager in connections) { Console.WriteLine("Connection Manager - {0}", connectionManager.Name); } } What we didn’t see in the sample output above was anything to do with the Data Flow, but rest assured the code now handles it too. The following snippet shows how each task is examined to see if it is a Data Flow task, and if so we can then loop through all of the components inside the data flow. private static void ProcessTaskHost(TaskHost taskHost) { if (taskHost == null) { return; } Console.WriteLine("Task - {0}", taskHost.Name); // Check if the task is a Data Flow task MainPipe pipeline = taskHost.InnerObject as MainPipe; if (pipeline != null) { ProcessPipeline(pipeline); } } private static void ProcessPipeline(MainPipe pipeline) { foreach (IDTSComponentMetaData90 componentMetadata in pipeline.ComponentMetaDataCollection) { Console.WriteLine("Pipeline Component - {0}", componentMetadata.Name); // If you wish to make changes to the component then you should really use the managed wrapper. // CManagedComponentWrapper wrapper = componentMetadata.Instantiate(); // wrapper.SetComponentProperty("PropertyName", "Value"); } } Hopefully you can see how we get a reference to the Data Flow task, and then use the ComponentMetaDataCollection to find out what components we have inside the pipeline. If you wanted to know more about the component you could look at the ObjectType or ComponentClassID properties. After that it gets a bit harder and you should get a reference to the wrapper object as the comment suggest and start using the properties, just like you would in the create packages samples, see our Code Development category for some for these examples. • Android ListView: getTag() returns null

    - by TianDong
    Hallo all, I have a ListView which contains a Button in each line. The following code is part of the getView() Method public View getView(final int position, View convertView, ViewGroup parent) { View row = convertView; TextView tv; Button saveA_button; EditText edittext; FITB_ViewWrapper wrapper; if (row == null) { LayoutInflater li = (LayoutInflater) getSystemService(Context.LAYOUT_INFLATER_SERVICE); if (ChooseMode_Act.modeInfo.equalsIgnoreCase("Training")) { row = li.inflate(R.layout.exercise_for_training_fitb,parent, false); }else { row = li.inflate(R.layout.exercise_for_exam_fitb,parent, false); } wrapper=new FITB_ViewWrapper(row); row.setTag(wrapper); if (ChooseMode_Act.modeInfo.equalsIgnoreCase("Exam")) { saveA_button=wrapper.getSaveAnswer_Button(); OnClickListener l=new OnClickListener() { @Override public void onClick(View v) { Integer mp=(Integer)v.getTag(); Log.i("mp","my Position is: "+mp); } }; saveA_button.setOnClickListener(l); } }else { wrapper=(FITB_ViewWrapper) row.getTag(); } For my App i need to known to which item the Button belongs to, so i try to detect it. The code Log.i("mp","my Position is: "+mp); puts out a message: mp myPosition is: null I can't understand, why do i get a "null" but not an Integer? How can i find out the Position of an Item in a ListView? Thanks a lot.

  • SqlCommandBuilder.DeriveParameters(command) and IsNullable

    - by Andrey
    I have written an O/R database wrapper that generates some wrapper methods for stored procs it reads from the database. Now I need to produce some custom wrapper code if an input parameter of a stored proc is defaulted to NULL. The problem is - I get stored proc parameters using: SqlCommandBuilder.DeriveParameters(command) and it doesn't bring parameter defaults. Is there any way to look up those defaults? Are they stored anywhere in the database? BTW, I'm using SQL Server 2008

  • Stretching width correctly to 100% of an inline-block element in IE6 and IE7

    - by Simon Lieschke
    I have the following markup, where I am attempting to get the right hand side of the second table to align with the right hand side of the heading above it. This works in IE8, Firefox and Chrome, but in IE6/7 the table is incorrectly stretched to fill the width of the page. I'm using the Trip Switch hasLayout trigger to apply inline-block in IE6/7. Does anyone know how (or even if) I can get the table only to fill the natural width of the wrapper element displayed with inline-block in IE6/7? You can see the code running live at http://jsbin.com/uyuva. <!DOCTYPE html PUBLIC "-//W3C//DTD HTML 4.01 Transitional//EN" "http://www.w3.org/TR/html4/loose.dtd"> <html> <head> <title>Test</title> <style> .wrapper { display: inline-block; border: 1px solid green; } /* display: inline-block triggers the wrapper element to have layout for IE 6/7. The trip switch then provides the inline component of the display behaviour. See http://www.brunildo.org/test/InlineBlockLayout.html for more details. */ .wrapper { *display: inline; } table { border: 1px solid red; } </style> </head> <body> <h1>No width on table:</h1> <div class="wrapper"> <h2>The right hand side of the table doesn't stretch to the end of this heading</h2> <table><tr><td>foo</td></tr></table> </div> text <h1>Width on table:</h1> <div class="wrapper"> <h2>The right hand side of the table should stretch to the end of this heading</h2> <table style="width: 100%"><tr><td>foo</td></tr></table> </div> text </body> </html>

  • WebBrowser Control in ATL window. How to free up memory on window unload? I'm stuck.

    - by Martin
    Hello there. I have a Win32 C++ Application. There is the _tWinMain(...) Method with GetMessage(...) in a while loop at the end. Before GetMessage(...) I create the main window with HWND m_MainHwnd = CreateWindowExW(WS_EX_TOOLWINDOW | WS_EX_LAYERED, CAxWindow::GetWndClassName(), _TEXT("http://www.-website-.com"), WS_POPUP, 0, 0, 1024, 768, NULL, NULL, m_Instance, NULL); ShowWindow(m_MainHwnd) If I do not create the main window, my application needs about 150K in memory. But with creating the main window with the WebBrowser Control inside, the memory usage increases to 8500K. But, I want to dynamically unload the main window. My _tWinMain(...) keeps running! Im unloading with DestroyWindow(m_MainHwnd) But the WebBrowser control won't unload and free up it's memory used! Application memory used is still 8500K! I can also get the WebBrowser Instance or with some additional code the WebBrowser HWND IWebBrowser2* m_pWebBrowser2; CAxWindow wnd = (CAxWindow)m_MainHwnd; HRESULT hRet = wnd.QueryControl(IID_IWebBrowser2, (void**)&m_pWebBrowser2); So I tried to free up the memory used by main window and WebBrowser control with (let's say it's experimental): if(m_pWebBrowser2) m_pWebBrowser2->Release(); DestroyWindow(m_hwndWebBrowser); //<-- just analogous OleUninitialize(); No success at all. I also created a wrapper class which creates the main window. I created a pointer and freed it up with delete: Wrapper* wrapper = new Wrapper(); //wrapper creates main window inside and shows it //...do some stuff delete(wrapper); No success. Still 8500K. So please, how can I get rid of the main window and it's WebBrowser control and free up the memory, returning to about 150K. Later I will recreate the window. It's a dynamically load and unload of the main window, depending on other commands. Thanks! Regards Martin

  • Help with OpenSSL request using Python

    - by Ldn
    Hi i'm creating a program that has to make a request and then obtain some info. For doing that the website had done some API that i will use. There is an how-to about these API but every example is made using PHP. But my app is done using Python so i need to convert the code. here is the how-to: The request string is sealed with OpenSSL. The steps for sealing are as follows: • Random 128-bit key is created. • Random key is used to RSA-RC4 symettrically encrypt the request string. • Random key is encrypted with the public key using OpenSSL RSA asymmetrical encryption. • The encrypted request and encrypted key are each base64 encoded and placed in the appropriate fields. In PHP a full request to our API can be accomplished like so: <?php // initial request. $request = array('object' => 'Link', 'action' => 'get', 'args' => array( 'app_id' => 303612602 ) ); // encode the request in JSON $request = json_encode($request); // when you receive your profile, you will be given a public key to seal your request in. $key_pem = "-----BEGIN PUBLIC KEY----- MFwwDQYJKoZIhvcNAQEBBQADSwAwSAJBALdu5C6d2sA1Lu71NNGBEbLD6DjwhFQO VLdFAJf2rOH63rG/L78lrQjwMLZOeHEHqjaiUwCr8NVTcVrebu6ylIECAwEAAQ== -----END PUBLIC KEY-----"; // load the public key $pkey = openssl_pkey_get_public($key_pem); // seal! $newrequest and $enc_keys are passed by reference. openssl_seal($request, $enc_request, $enc_keys, array($pkey)); // then wrap the request $wrapper = array( 'profile' => 'ProfileName', 'format' => 'RSA_RC4_Sealed', 'enc_key' => base64_encode($enc_keys[0]), 'request' => base64_encode($enc_request) ); // json encode the wrapper. urlencode it as well. $wrapper = urlencode(json_encode($wrapper)); // we can send the request wrapper via the cURL extension $ch = curl_init(); curl_setopt($ch, CURLOPT_URL, 'http://api.site.com/'); curl_setopt($ch, CURLOPT_POST, 1); curl_setopt($ch, CURLOPT_POSTFIELDS, "request=$wrapper"); curl_setopt($ch, CURLOPT_RETURNTRANSFER, true); $data = curl_exec($ch); curl_close($ch); ?> Of all of that, i was able to convert "$request" and i'v also made the JSON encode. This is my code: import urllib import urllib2 import json url = 'http://api.site.com/' array = {'app_id' : "303612602"} values = { "object" : "Link", "action": "get", "args" : array } data = urllib.urlencode(values) json_data = json.dumps(data) What stop me is the sealing with OpenSSL and the publi key (that obviously i have) Using PHP OpenSSL it's so easy, but in Python i don't really know how to use it Please, help me!

  • Correct way to trigger object clone/memento when property changes

    - by Jay
    Hi, I have a big doubt about the correct way to save an object state (clone object), if necessary to rollback the changes, when a property has changed. I know that the IEditableObject interface exists for those cases but during some tests the BeginEdit would just fire like crazy (I have a DataGrid whose values can be edited but I won't need to keep the state of the object in these cases). I'm following the MVP design pattern in my project and the view's DataContext is a wrapper of my presenter.Let's say I have a CheckBox/TextBox in my UI and when that textbox's value changes, the property bound in the wrapper gets set.Currently, before setting the new value i'm raising an event to the presenter (something like PropertyChanging) that clones my wrapper. I'm doing this because I don't think that job should be done by the wrapper itself but by the presenter.Is this a correct approach? Raising the event is an acceptable solution? I thought of other possible ideas: Interface between presenter and wrapper; Use explicit binding and trigger the binding after saving object's state; What is your opinion about the best way to do this? Should I just keep IEditableObject, is this the best way? Best Regards

  • using jQuery to load the body of another HTML document between entries

    - by justin hall
    I'm trying to use jQuery to load the body of another HTML document, which contains our AdSense banner. It should display under each blog entry when in list view. I'm able to get it to load text, even images, but not the banner; the banner is a small script. Here is the website we are working with: http://neverknowtech.com/data/ (that's a test page, and the 'entry' displayed there contains the intended body content) As you can see here the body code does include an ad, and the word 'Ad'. The word 'Ad' is shown correctly below the post (as it is in list view) but the script for the Google Ad doesn't seem to make it. Here is what we have in the footer currently (replace [ with < and ] with ): [script type="text/javascript"] var classSelector = ":nth-child(1n)"; if ($(".list-journal-entry-wrapper .journal-entry-wrapper").length ] 0) { $('.list-journal-entry-wrapper .journal-entry-wrapper' + classSelector).after('[div class="journal-list-ad-insert"][/div]'); $('.list-journal-entry-wrapper .journal-list-ad-insert').load("/data/journal-list-ad-insert.html .body"); } [/script] note: the nth-child is there for when they decide how frequently to place the ads.

  • Blogger Page Loading Booster

    Every blogger have a template like header css main wrapper sidebar wrapper footer etc etc ... But in most of the cases the header and sidebar-wrapper, footer are stationary part of page, most of the time the sidebar content are not changes means they are constant. Only the main wrapper is always changes. So I want to ask you that, when user clicks on any link, or menu item or at the footer the main-rapper only loads without loading all other wrappers. *This may increase the loading time...* Anybody know how to do it???

  • Issue while trying to give a floating effect to a footer bar in IE

    - by Shailesh
    Hi, I'm trying to put a footer bar at the bottom of the browser no matter what the length of the content is. The footer bar should always be visible to the user and should be on the top layer. Following is my code: <html> <head> <style type="text/css"> #wrapper { width: 910px; margin: 0 auto; padding: 0px 20px 50px 20px; text-align: left; } #footer-wrapper { -moz-background-clip:border; -moz-background-inline-policy:continuous; -moz-background-origin:padding; bottom:0; clear:both; font-size:11px !important; left:0; position:fixed; white-space:nowrap; width:100%; z-index:8000; } </style> <script> var counter = 0; function addContent(ctr) { document.getElementById(ctr).innerHTML=document.getElementById (ctr).innerHTML+" dynaContent"+counter; counter++; } </script> </head> <body> <div> <div><input type="button" onclick="addContent('wrapper')" value="Add dynaContent" /></div> <div id="wrapper" style="color:#FFFFFF; background-color: #111111;"> STATIC TEXT - HEADER-WRAPPER </div> <div style="color:#FFFFFF;background-color: #555555;">STATIC TEXT - FOOTER-WRAPPER</div> </div> </body> </html> It's working fine in Mozilla Firefox and giving the intended results, but, in IE, the footer bar always sticks just under the header. Please help. Thanks in advance, Shailesh.

  • Why can't my program display this dialog box, while another program can?

    - by nonoitall
    I'm trying to write a wrapper for Winamp input plugins and have hit a bit of a snag. I'd like my wrapper to be able to display a plugin's configuration dialog, which is (or should be) achieved by calling the plugin's Config(HWND hwndParent) function. For most plugins, this works fine and my program is able to display the plugin's configuration dialog. However, 64th Note (a plugin for playing USF files) is giving me problems. Winamp can display its configuration dialog just fine, but whenever I try to display it from my wrapper, the dialog gets destroyed before it ever shows itself. Thankfully, 64th Note is open source, so I took a look at its innards to try and get an idea of what's going wrong. I've trimmed off the irrelevant bits and am left with this: Config function in the plugin (should show configuration dialog): void Config(HWND hwndParent) { DialogBox(slave, (const char *) IDD_CONFIG_WINDOW, NULL, configDlgProc); } (Slave is the plugin DLL's HINSTANCE handle.) The proc for the dialog is as follows (I have stripped out all the functionality, since it doesn't appear to have an influence on this problem): BOOL CALLBACK configDlgProc(HWND hDlg, UINT uMsg, WPARAM wParam, LPARAM lParam) { return 0; } The template for IDD_CONFIG_WINDOW is as follows: IDD_CONFIG_WINDOW DIALOGEX 0, 0, 269, 149 STYLE DS_SETFONT | DS_MODALFRAME | WS_POPUP | WS_CAPTION | WS_SYSMENU CAPTION "64th Note configuration" FONT 8, "MS Sans Serif", 0, 0, 0x0 BEGIN DEFPUSHBUTTON "OK",IDOK,212,38,50,14 CONTROL "Play Forever",IDC_NOLENGTH,"Button",BS_AUTORADIOBUTTON,7,7,55,8 CONTROL "Always Use Default Length",IDC_SETLEN,"Button",BS_AUTORADIOBUTTON,7,17,101,8 CONTROL "Default Length",IDC_DEFLEN,"Button",BS_AUTORADIOBUTTON,7,29,63,8 EDITTEXT IDC_DEFLENVAL,71,28,38,12,ES_AUTOHSCROLL EDITTEXT IDC_DEFFADEVAL,71,42,38,12,ES_AUTOHSCROLL CONTROL "Detect Silence",IDC_DETSIL,"Button",BS_AUTOCHECKBOX | WS_TABSTOP,7,56,63,8 EDITTEXT IDC_DETSILVAL,71,56,38,12,ES_AUTOHSCROLL CONTROL "Slider2",IDC_PRISLIDER,"msctls_trackbar32",TBS_AUTOTICKS | WS_TABSTOP,74,90,108,11 EDITTEXT IDC_TITLEFMT,7,127,255,15,ES_AUTOHSCROLL CONTROL "Default to file name on missing field",IDC_FNONMISSINGTAG, "Button",BS_AUTOCHECKBOX | WS_TABSTOP,50,114,124,8 CONTROL "Use Recompiler CPU",IDC_RECOMPILER,"Button",BS_AUTOCHECKBOX | WS_TABSTOP,145,7,83,8 CONTROL "Round Frequency",IDC_ROUNDFREQ,"Button",BS_AUTOCHECKBOX | WS_TABSTOP,145,16,73,8 CONTROL "Seek Backwards",IDC_BACKWARDS,"Button",BS_AUTOCHECKBOX | WS_TABSTOP,145,26,70,8 CONTROL "Fast Seek",IDC_FASTSEEK,"Button",BS_AUTOCHECKBOX | WS_TABSTOP,145,35,48,8 CONTROL "RSP Sections",IDC_SECTIONS,"Button",BS_AUTOCHECKBOX | WS_TABSTOP,145,45,60,8 CONTROL "Soft Amplify",IDC_SOFTAMP,"Button",BS_AUTOCHECKBOX | WS_TABSTOP,145,54,53,8 CONTROL "Audio HLE",IDC_AUDIOHLE,"Button",BS_AUTOCHECKBOX | WS_TABSTOP,145,63,50,8 CONTROL "Auto Audio HLE",IDC_AUTOAUDIOHLE,"Button",BS_AUTOCHECKBOX | WS_TABSTOP,145,72,64,8 CONTROL "Display Errors",IDC_DISPERROR,"Button",BS_AUTOCHECKBOX | WS_TABSTOP,145,81,58,8 EDITTEXT IDC_RELVOL,211,104,28,12,ES_AUTOHSCROLL PUSHBUTTON "Cancel",IDCANCEL,212,54,50,14 PUSHBUTTON "Help",IDHELPBUTTON,212,71,50,14 LTEXT "Title format:",IDC_STATIC,7,113,38,8 LTEXT "seconds",IDC_STATIC,112,29,28,8 LTEXT "Default Fade",IDC_STATIC,19,43,42,8 LTEXT "seconds",IDC_STATIC,112,43,28,8 LTEXT "seconds",IDC_STATIC,112,57,28,8 CTEXT "CPU Thread Priority",IDC_STATIC,7,91,63,8 CTEXT "Look ma, I'm data!",IDC_CPUPRI,75,104,108,8 LTEXT "Relative Volume",IDC_STATIC,199,94,52,8 LTEXT "Fade Type",IDC_STATIC,7,75,35,8 COMBOBOX IDC_FADETYPE,45,72,87,74,CBS_DROPDOWNLIST | WS_TABSTOP END Naturally, without any substance in the proc function, the dialog doesn't have any functionality, but it still displays in Winamp when the Config function is invoked. However, it does not appear when I invoke it from my wrapper program. When I monitored the messages sent to the dialog in its proc function, I saw that WM_DESTROY and WM_NCDESTROY were sent within the first few messages, though I have no clue as to why. If I change the Config function so that it displays the plugin's About dialog instead of its configuration dialog, both Winamp and my wrapper will display the About dialog, which suggests that there is something unique to the configuration dialog template that's causing the problem. The modified Config function reads like so: void Config(HWND hwndParent) { DialogBox(slave, (const char *) IDD_ABOUTBOX, NULL, configDlgProc); } The template for the About dialog is as follows: IDD_ABOUTBOX DIALOGEX 0, 0, 152, 151 STYLE DS_SETFONT | DS_MODALFRAME | WS_POPUP | WS_CAPTION | WS_SYSMENU CAPTION "About 64th Note" FONT 8, "MS Sans Serif", 0, 0, 0x1 BEGIN LTEXT "64th Note v1.2 beta 3\nBased on Project 64 1.6 by Zilmar and Jabo\nAudio HLE by Azimer\nPSF concept and tagging by Neill Corlett\nPlayer by hcs, Josh W, dr0\nhttp://hcs64.com/usf",IDC_STATIC,7,94,138,50 CONTROL 110,IDC_STATIC,"Static",SS_BITMAP,26,7,95,86,WS_EX_DLGMODALFRAME END Like I said, my wrapper displays the About dialog just fine, as does Winamp. • VSTO Word ContentControls, Y U No have Name property?

    - by System.Cats.Lol
    When you add a VSTO (not Word native) content control, you specify the name: controls.AddContentControl(wordRange, "foo", wdType); Where controls is the VSTO (extended) Document.Controls collection. You can later look up the control by name: ContentControl myContentControl = controls["foo"]; So why in the world is there no Name property for ContentControl? (or ContentControlBase, or any of the other derivatives). I'm implementing a wrapper class for the Document.Controls property that lets you add or iterate the content controls. When iterating the underlying Document.Controls, there's no way to look up the name of each control. (We need it to return an instance of our ContentControl wrapper). So currently I'm doing this in our ContentControls wrapper class: public IEnumerator<IContentControl> GetEnumerator() { System.Collections.IEnumerator en = this.wordControls.GetEnumerator(); while (en.MoveNext()) { // VSTO Document.Controls includes all managed controls, not just // VSTO ContentControls; return only those. if (en.Current is Microsoft.Office.Tools.Word.ContentControl) { // The control's name isn't stored with the control, only when it was added, // so use a placeholder name for the wrapper. yield return new ContentControl("Unknown", (Microsoft.Office.Tools.Word.ContentControl)en.Current); } } } I'd prefer to not have to resort to keeping a map of names-to-wrapper-objects in our ContentControls object. Can anyone tell me how to get the control's name (the name parameter that was passed to Controls.Add()?

  • Trying to create scrolling horizontal thumbnail navigation that hides on left side when not in use

    - by user346602
    Hi, I am trying recreate the following type of scrolling thumbnail navigation as described in the following tutorial: http://tympanus.net/codrops/2010/05/10/scrollable-thumbs-menu/ I require my thumbs to slide out horizontally from the left. I have amended the code to the best of my abilities, but I can't get it to work. (Think the problem is in the top third of the jquery). Here is what I have to date: HTML <ul class="menu" id="menu"> <li> <a href="#"></a> <div class="sc_menu_wrapper"> <div class="sc_menu"> <a href="#"><img src="images/gallery/1.jpg" alt=""/></a> <a href="#"><img src="images/gallery/2.jpg" alt=""/></a> <a href="#"><img src="images/gallery/3.jpg" alt=""/></a> <a href="#"><img src="images/gallery/4.jpg" alt=""/></a> <a href="#"><img src="images/gallery/5.jpg" alt=""/></a> </div> </div> </li> </ul> CSS /* Navigation Style */ ul.menu{ position: fixed; top: 0px; left:0px; width: 100%; } ul.menu li{ position:relative; width: 100% } ul.menu li > a{ position:absolute; top:300px; left:0px; width:40px; height:200px; background-color:#e7e7e8; } /* Thumb Scrolling Style */ div.sc_menu_wrapper { position: absolute; right: 0px; height: 220px; overflow: hidden; top: 300px; left:0px; visibility:hidden; } div.sc_menu { height: 200px; visibility:hidden; } .sc_menu a { display: block; background-color:#e7e7e8; } .sc_menu img { display: block; border: none; opacity:0.3; filter:progid:DXImageTransform.Microsoft.Alpha(opacity=30); } JQUERY $(function(){ // function to make the thumbs menu scrollable function buildThumbs($elem){ var $wrapper = $elem.next(); var $menu = $wrapper.find('.sc_menu'); var inactiveMargin = 220; // move the scroll down to the beggining (move as much as the height of the menu) $wrapper.scrollRight($menu.outerHeight()); //when moving the mouse up or down, the wrapper moves (scrolls) up or down $wrapper.bind('mousemove',function(e){ var wrapperWidth = $wrapper.width(); var menuWidth = $menu.outerWidth() + 2 * inactiveMargin; var top = (e.pageX - $wrapper.offset().right) * (menuWidth - wrapperWidth) / wrapperWidth - inactiveMargin; $wrapper.scrollRight(right+10); }); } var stacktime; $('#menu li > a').bind('mouseover',function () { var $this = $(this); buildThumbs($this); var pos = $this.next().find('a').size(); var f = function(){ if(pos==0) clearTimeout(stacktime); $this.next().find('a:nth-child('+pos+')').css('visibility','visible'); --pos; }; // each thumb will appear with a delay stacktime = setInterval(f , 50); }); /// on mouseleave of the whole <li> the scrollable area is hidden $('#menu li').bind('mouseleave',function () { var $this = $(this); clearTimeout(stacktime); $this.find('.sc_menu').css('visibility','hidden').find('a').css('visibility','hidden'); $this.find('.sc_menu_wrapper').css('visibility','hidden'); }); // when hovering a thumb, change its opacity $('.sc_menu a').hover( function () { var $this = $(this); $this.find('img') .stop() .animate({'opacity':'1.0'},400); }, function () { var $this = $(this); $this.find('img') .stop() .animate({'opacity':'0.3'},400); } ); }); Wondering if some eagle eye might be able to point out where I am going wrong. As my knowledge of JQuery is limited, I'm guessing it is in there. I really appreciate anyone taking the time to look this over. Thank you!

  • How to add a "handle bar" to a sliding div

    - by Josh Brown
    I have a small splash page and have a browser-wide div that acts as a wrapper and have a div inside of #wrapper that is attached to a $.click(); event to slide the wrapper div out to view the browser-size background photo. I'm wanting to implement a small button/link that will slide in on the bottom right corner after the wrapper div is hidden. I know it is probably mainly CSS, but am needing some help. Thanks in advance for your help! PS: Using jQuery as my framework.
