    - by 9nix00
hi,all. when I use notifyDataSetChanged(), the listview display order will be change . like this 3 2 1 when current activy was created. but when I change the data. it will be 1 2 3 I don't want the order changed and i dont understand why its happening. This is a piece of code from my adapter class public static class ItemAdapter extends BaseAdapter { private String[] mData; private LayoutInflater mInflater; // I called this method to change data public void setEditText(int position, final String item) { mData[position] = item; notifyDataSetChanged(); } } I change data at some dialog like this builder = new AlertDialog.Builder(ct); builder.setTitle(R.string.pickStatus) .setView(edBuffer) .setPositiveButton(R.string.save, new DialogInterface.OnClickListener() { @Override public void onClick( DialogInterface dialog, int id) { // TODO Auto-generated method stub canPop = true; final String tmp = edBuffer.getText().toString(); KbonezLog.e(String.format( "set into key %d", key)); //use mData key to set value setEditText(key, tmp); dialog.dismiss(); }})

  • Listview Row Overlap Problem

    - by rgrandy
    I just updated my app and I am getting some odd complaints from people who update it. I am only getting complaints from people with non-stock android phones (phones that manufacturers have modified...HTC phones, cliq, pulse, etc), other phones like the Droid, Nexus work fine. My app (Photo Frame Deluxe) has a list in it with a Image View, Text View, View (spacer) and checkbox, all in a row. What happens on the affected phones is that the rows start overlapping and it cuts the top half of everything off. My layout code for this is below, I am pulling my hair out on this, what might I have wrong in this layout. Why does this work on some phones and not on others? Any help would be appreciated. Row Layout: <?xml version="1.0" encoding="UTF-8"?> <LinearLayout xmlns:android="http://schemas.android.com/apk/res/android" android:layout_width="fill_parent" android:layout_height="wrap_content" android:orientation="horizontal"> <ImageView android:id="@+id/photorowIcon" android:layout_width="wrap_content" android:layout_height="wrap_content" android:layout_gravity="center_vertical" android:paddingTop="10dp" android:paddingBottom="10dp" android:paddingRight="5dp" /> <TextView android:id="@+id/photorowText" android:layout_width="wrap_content" android:layout_height="wrap_content" android:layout_gravity="center_vertical" /> <View android:layout_width="0px" android:layout_height="wrap_content" android:layout_weight="1"/> <CheckBox android:id="@+id/photorowCheckBox" android:layout_width="wrap_content" android:layout_height="wrap_content" android:layout_gravity="center_vertical" android:focusable="false" android:focusableInTouchMode="false" /> </LinearLayout> Layout Row is inserted in: <?xml version="1.0" encoding="UTF-8"?> <LinearLayout xmlns:android="http://schemas.android.com/apk/res/android" android:layout_width="fill_parent" android:layout_height="fill_parent" android:orientation="vertical"> <LinearLayout android:layout_width="fill_parent" android:layout_height="wrap_content" android:background="@drawable/title1_gradient" android:orientation="vertical"> <TextView android:layout_width="fill_parent" android:layout_height="wrap_content" android:text="Select Photos to Display:" android:textSize="20sp" android:textStyle="bold" android:textColor="#FFFFFFFF" android:paddingLeft="5dp" android:paddingRight="5dp" android:paddingTop="5dp" /> <TextView android:layout_width="fill_parent" android:layout_height="wrap_content" android:id="@+id/folderName" android:textSize="15sp" android:textStyle="bold" android:textColor="#FFFFFFFF" android:paddingLeft="5dp" android:paddingRight="5dp" android:paddingBottom="5dp" /> <View android:layout_width="fill_parent" android:layout_height="1px" android:background="#406C6C6C"/> </LinearLayout> <ListView android:id="@android:id/list" android:layout_width="fill_parent" android:layout_height="0px" android:layout_weight="1" android:drawSelectorOnTop="false" android:paddingLeft="5dp" android:paddingRight="5dp" /> <LinearLayout android:layout_width="fill_parent" android:layout_height="wrap_content" android:orientation="vertical" android:layout_gravity="bottom"> <LinearLayout android:layout_width="fill_parent" android:layout_height="wrap_content" android:orientation="horizontal" android:layout_gravity="bottom" android:background="#FF6C6C6C" android:padding="5dp"> <Button android:layout_width="fill_parent" android:layout_height="wrap_content" android:id="@+id/ok" android:text="OK"/> </LinearLayout> </LinearLayout> </LinearLayout>

  • custom listview adapter getView method being called multiple times, and in no coherent order

    - by edzillion
    I have a custom list adapter: class ResultsListAdapter extends ArrayAdapter<RecordItem> { in the overridden 'getView' method I do a print to check what position is and whether it is a convertView or not: @Override public View getView(int position, View convertView, ViewGroup parent) { System.out.println("getView " + position + " " + convertView); The output of this (when the list is first displayed, no user input as yet) 04-11 16:24:05.860: INFO/System.out(681): getView 0 null 04-11 16:24:29.020: INFO/System.out(681): getView 1 android.widget.RelativeLayout@43d415d8 04-11 16:25:48.070: INFO/System.out(681): getView 2 android.widget.RelativeLayout@43d415d8 04-11 16:25:49.110: INFO/System.out(681): getView 3 android.widget.RelativeLayout@43d415d8 04-11 16:25:49.710: INFO/System.out(681): getView 0 android.widget.RelativeLayout@43d415d8 04-11 16:25:50.251: INFO/System.out(681): getView 1 null 04-11 16:26:01.300: INFO/System.out(681): getView 2 null 04-11 16:26:02.020: INFO/System.out(681): getView 3 null 04-11 16:28:28.091: INFO/System.out(681): getView 0 null 04-11 16:37:46.180: INFO/System.out(681): getView 1 android.widget.RelativeLayout@43cff8f0 04-11 16:37:47.091: INFO/System.out(681): getView 2 android.widget.RelativeLayout@43cff8f0 04-11 16:37:47.730: INFO/System.out(681): getView 3 android.widget.RelativeLayout@43cff8f0 AFAIK, though I couldn't find it stated explicitly, getView() is only called for visible rows. Since my app starts with four visible rows at least the position numbers cycling from 0-3 makes sense. But the rest is a mess: Why is getview called for each row four times? Where are these convertViews coming from when I haven't scrolled yet? I did a bit of reseach, and without getting a good answer, I did notice that people were associating this issue with layout issues. So in case, here's the layout that contains the list: <?xml version="1.0" encoding="utf-8"?> <LinearLayout xmlns:android="http://schemas.android.com/apk/res/android" android:layout_height="fill_parent" android:layout_width="fill_parent" android:orientation="vertical" > <TextView android:id="@+id/pageDetails" android:layout_width="fill_parent" android:layout_height="wrap_content" /> <ListView android:id="@+id/list" android:layout_width="fill_parent" android:layout_height="wrap_content" android:drawSelectorOnTop="false" /> </LinearLayout> and the layout of each individual row: <RelativeLayout xmlns:android="http://schemas.android.com/apk/res/android" android:layout_width="fill_parent" android:layout_height="108dp" android:padding="4dp"> <ImageView android:id="@+id/thumb" android:layout_width="120dp" android:layout_height="fill_parent" android:layout_alignParentTop="true" android:layout_alignParentBottom="true" android:layout_alignParentLeft="true" android:layout_marginRight="8dp" android:src="@drawable/loading" /> <TextView android:id="@+id/price" android:layout_width="wrap_content" android:layout_height="18dp" android:layout_toRightOf="@id/thumb" android:layout_alignParentBottom="true" android:singleLine="true" /> <TextView android:id="@+id/date" android:layout_width="wrap_content" android:layout_height="18dp" android:layout_alignParentBottom="true" android:layout_alignParentRight="true" android:paddingRight="4dp" android:singleLine="true" /> <TextView android:id="@+id/title" android:layout_width="fill_parent" android:layout_height="wrap_content" android:textSize="17dp" android:layout_toRightOf="@id/thumb" android:layout_alignParentRight="true" android:layout_alignParentTop="true" android:paddingRight="4dp" android:layout_alignWithParentIfMissing="true" android:gravity="center" /> Thank you for your time

Here is mycode below; Thanks for any help. I am not good at java please change the code where necessary and I can then refer to it. public class starters extends ListActivity { private static class EfficientAdapter extends BaseAdapter { private LayoutInflater mInflater; private Bitmap mIcon1; private Bitmap mIcon2; private Bitmap mIcon3; private Bitmap mIcon4; private Bitmap mIcon5; private Bitmap mIcon6; private Bitmap mIcon7; private Bitmap mIcon8; private Bitmap mIcon9; private Bitmap mIcon10; public EfficientAdapter(Context context) { // Cache the LayoutInflate to avoid asking for a new one each time. mInflater = LayoutInflater.from(context); // Icons bound to the rows. mIcon1 = BitmapFactory.decodeResource(context.getResources(), R.drawable.starters1); mIcon2 = BitmapFactory.decodeResource(context.getResources(), R.drawable.starters2); mIcon3 = BitmapFactory.decodeResource(context.getResources(), R.drawable.starters3); mIcon4 = BitmapFactory.decodeResource(context.getResources(), R.drawable.starters4); mIcon5 = BitmapFactory.decodeResource(context.getResources(), R.drawable.starters5); mIcon6 = BitmapFactory.decodeResource(context.getResources(), R.drawable.starters6); mIcon7 = BitmapFactory.decodeResource(context.getResources(), R.drawable.starters7); mIcon8 = BitmapFactory.decodeResource(context.getResources(), R.drawable.starters8); mIcon9 = BitmapFactory.decodeResource(context.getResources(), R.drawable.starters9); mIcon10 = BitmapFactory.decodeResource(context.getResources(), R.drawable.starters10); } public int getCount() { return DATA.length; } public Object getItem(int position) { return position; } public long getItemId(int position) { return position; } public View getView(int position, View convertView, ViewGroup parent) { // A ViewHolder keeps references to children views to avoid unneccessary calls // to findViewById() on each row. • Android strange behavior with listview and custom cursor adapter

    - by Michael Little
I have a problem with a list view and a custom cursor adapter and I just can't seem to figure out what is wrong with my code. Basically, in my activity I call initalize() that does a bunch of stuff to handle getting the proper data and initializing the listview. On first run of the activity you can see from the images that one of the items is missing from the list. If I go to another activity and go back to this activity the item that was missing shows up. I believe it has something to do with setContentView(R.layout.parent). If I move that to my initialize() then the item never shows up even when returning from another activity. So, for some reason, returning from another activity bypasses setContentView(R.layout.parent) and everything works fine. I know it's impossible for me to bypass setContentView(R.layout.parent) so I need to figure out what the problem is. Also, I did not include the layout because it is nothing more then two textviews. Also, the images I have attached do not show that the missing item is the last one on the list. Custom Cursor Adapter: public class CustomCursorAdapter extends SimpleCursorAdapter { private Context context; private int layout; public CustomCursorAdapter (Context context, int layout, Cursor c, String[] from, int[] to) { super(context, layout, c, from, to); this.context = context; this.layout = layout; } public View newView(Context context, Cursor cursor, ViewGroup parent) { LayoutInflater inflater = LayoutInflater.from(context); final View view = inflater.inflate(layout, parent, false); return view; } @Override public void bindView(View v, Context context, Cursor c) { if (c.getColumnName(0).matches("section")){ int nameCol = c.getColumnIndex("section"); String section = c.getString(nameCol); TextView section_text = (TextView) v.findViewById(R.id.text1); if ((section.length() > 0)) { section_text.setText(section); } else { //so we don't have an empty spot section_text.setText(""); section_text.setVisibility(2); section_text.setHeight(1); } } else if (c.getColumnName(0).matches("code")) { int nameCol = c.getColumnIndex("code"); String mCode = c.getString(nameCol); TextView code_text = (TextView) v.findViewById(R.id.text1); if (code_text != null) { int i = 167; byte[] data = {(byte) i}; String strSymbol = EncodingUtils.getString(data, "windows-1252"); mCode = strSymbol + " " + mCode; code_text.setText(mCode); code_text.setSingleLine(); } } if (c.getColumnName(1).matches("title")){ int nameCol = c.getColumnIndex("title"); String mTitle = c.getString(nameCol); TextView title_text = (TextView) v.findViewById(R.id.text2); if (title_text != null) { title_text.setText(mTitle); } } else if (c.getColumnName(1).matches("excerpt")) { int nameCol = c.getColumnIndex("excerpt"); String mExcerpt = c.getString(nameCol); TextView excerpt_text = (TextView) v.findViewById(R.id.text2); if (excerpt_text != null) { excerpt_text.setText(mExcerpt); excerpt_text.setSingleLine(); } } } The Activity: public class parent extends ListActivity { private static String[] TITLE_FROM = { SECTION, TITLE, _ID, }; • Sorting a ListView in WPF – Part II

    - by marianor
Some time ago I wrote a post about how to sort a ListView by clicking on the header of the column. The problem with that solution was that you needed to implement it each time and you have to define an explicit header for each column. As a more general solution I use attached properties to extend the ListView and GridViewColumn . The first attached property is tied to the ListView itself, and it indicates that the control supports sorting. This property attach or detach to the Click event of the...(read more)

  • Mostrar Imagenes en ListView utilizando ImageList WinForms

    - by Jason Ulloa
DirectoryInfo dir = new DirectoryInfo(Application. GetFiles()) { try { this.imageList1.Images.Add(Image.FromFile(file.FullName)); }   catch { Console. Count; j++) { ListViewItem item = new ListViewItem();   item.ImageIndex = j;   this.listView1.Items.

  • Repeater vs. ListView

    - by MoezMousavi
I do really hate repeater. I was more a GridView lover but after 3.5 be born, I prefer ListView.  The first problem with Repeater is paging. You will need to write code to handle paging. Second common problem is empty data template. Have a look at this:             if (rptMyRepeater.Items.Count < 1)             {                 if (e.Item.ItemType == ListItemType.Footer)                 {                     Label lblFooter = (Label)e.Item.FindControl("lblEmpty");                     lblFooter.Visible = true;                 }             }   I found the above code is usefull if you need to show something like "There is no record" is your data source has no records. Although the ListView has a template.   If you combine ListView with a DataPager, you will be in heaven as it is sorting the paging for you without writing code. (http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/system.web.ui.webcontrols.datapager.aspx)     Note: You have got to bind ListView in PreRender, it doesn't work properly in PageLoad   More: http://www.4guysfromrolla.com/articles/061009-1.aspx

  • How to obtain listview information without refreshing the page?

    - by user1808098
I am currently developing an Android Application for my Final Year Project. But to be honest I do not have any basic knowledges and everything started from scratch and referring to online tutorials a lot. Here is my question, I was trying to retrieve data from listview activity. There are two listview in my page using button. I was able to display the first listview but when it get data for the second listview, the data for first listview is disappeared because the page is refreshed, vice versa. • Visual WebGui launches a new prize-winning challenge for developers

    - by Webgui
Gizmox is announcing a ListView Challenge where developers can participate by creating and submitting their own implementations of the new extended ListView. "its quite amazing what you can do with it. It opens a lot of new ways to present data in a better and more userfriendly way," says one of the VWG community members who built a three level hierarchal ListView. Watch the hierarchal ListView demo by Visualizer Those ListView implementations will be reviewed and rated and the winner will win a free Professional Studio license $750 worth. The 5 top rated codes will entitle their developers for a cool new T-shirt. The new v6.4 introduces new capabilities with its extended ListView Control. Enter the Challenge The Collapsible Panel enhancement of the ListView Control, along with the Column Type Control, open up the possibilities for potential usage of the ListView control for data display, data entry and as the Collapsible Panel can contain whatever control you like, it can as well contain other ListView controls, thus making it possible to create Hierarchial ListView display of unlimited number of levels. The first enhancement is the introduction of a new column type Control which opens up the possibility for a ListView cell to contain controls like CheckBox, ComboBox, ListBox or even TabControl, Form or another ListView as the contents of that particular cell. This means that the ListView is no longer a display-only control, but has the full potential of being a full blown data entry control as well. The second major enhancement is the introduction of ListViewPanelItem. The ListViewPanelItem behaves exactly the same as it‘s predecessor, the ListViewItem, and in additon it has a Panel Control attached to it, seperate panel for each row in the ListView. This new Panel can be either expanded (visible) or not (hidden) and when expanded, will fill the full width of the ListView, but has adjustable height. Watch a webcast about the extended ListView

  • Android save Checkbox State in ListView with Cursor Adapter

    - by Ricardo
    I cant find a way to save the checkbox state when using a Cursor adapter. Everything else works fine but if i click on a checkbox it is repeated when it is recycled. Ive seen examples using array adapters but because of my lack of experience im finding it hard to translate it into using a cursor adapter. Could someone give me an example of how to go about it. Any help appreciated. private class PostImageAdapter extends CursorAdapter { private static final int s = 0; private int layout; Bitmap bm=null; private String PostNumber; TourDbAdapter mDbHelper; public PostImageAdapter (Context context, int layout, Cursor c, String[] from, int[] to, String Postid) { super(context, c); this.layout = layout; PostNumber = Postid; mDbHelper = new TourDbAdapter(context); mDbHelper.open(); } @Override public View newView(Context context, final Cursor c, ViewGroup parent) { ViewHolder holder; LayoutInflater inflater=getLayoutInflater(); View row=inflater.inflate(R.layout.image_post_row, null); holder = new ViewHolder(); holder.Description = (TextView) row.findViewById(R.id.item_desc); holder.cb = (CheckBox) row.findViewById(R.id.item_checkbox); holder.DateTaken = (TextView) row.findViewById(R.id.item_date_taken); holder.Photo = (ImageView) row.findViewById(R.id.item_thumb); row.setTag(holder); int DateCol = c.getColumnIndex(TourDbAdapter.KEY_DATE); String Date = c.getString(DateCol); int DescCol = c.getColumnIndex(TourDbAdapter.KEY_CAPTION); String Description = c.getString(DescCol); int FileNameCol = c.getColumnIndex(TourDbAdapter.KEY_FILENAME); final String FileName = c.getString(FileNameCol); int PostRowCol = c.getColumnIndex(TourDbAdapter.KEY_Post_ID); String RowID = c.getString(PostRowCol); String Path = "sdcard/Tourabout/Thumbs/" + FileName + ".jpg"; Bitmap bm = BitmapFactory.decodeFile(Path, null); holder.Photo.setImageBitmap(bm); holder.DateTaken.setText(Date); holder.Description.setText(Description); holder.cb.setOnClickListener(new OnClickListener() { @Override public void onClick(View v) { CheckBox cBox = (CheckBox) v; if (cBox.isChecked()) { mDbHelper.UpdatePostImage(FileName, PostNumber); } else if (!cBox.isChecked()) { mDbHelper.UpdatePostImage(FileName, ""); } } }); return row; }; @Override public void bindView(View row, Context context, final Cursor c) { ViewHolder holder; holder = (ViewHolder) row.getTag(); int DateCol = c.getColumnIndex(TourDbAdapter.KEY_DATE); String Date = c.getString(DateCol); int DescCol = c.getColumnIndex(TourDbAdapter.KEY_CAPTION); String Description = c.getString(DescCol); int FileNameCol = c.getColumnIndex(TourDbAdapter.KEY_FILENAME); final String FileName = c.getString(FileNameCol); int PostRowCol = c.getColumnIndex(TourDbAdapter.KEY_Post_ID); String RowID = c.getString(PostRowCol); String Path = "sdcard/Tourabout/Thumbs/" + FileName + ".jpg"; Bitmap bm = BitmapFactory.decodeFile(Path, null); File x = null; holder.Photo.setImageBitmap(bm); holder.DateTaken.setText(Date); holder.Description.setText(Description); holder.cb.setOnClickListener(new OnClickListener() { @Override public void onClick(View v) { CheckBox cBox = (CheckBox) v; if (cBox.isChecked()) { mDbHelper.UpdatePostImage(FileName, PostNumber); } else if (!cBox.isChecked()) { mDbHelper.UpdatePostImage(FileName, ""); } } }); } } static class ViewHolder{ TextView Description; ImageView Photo; CheckBox cb; TextView DateTaken; } }

  • Android RelativeLayout fill_parent unexpected behavior in a ListView with varying row heights

    - by Jameel Al-Aziz
I'm currently working on a small update to a project and I'm having an issue with Relative_Layout and fill_parent in a list view. I'm trying to insert a divider between two sections in each row, much like the divider in the call log of the default dialer. I checked out the Android source code to see how they did it, but I encountered a problem when replicating their solution. To start, here is my row item layout: <?xml version="1.0" encoding="utf-8"?> <RelativeLayout android:id="@+id/RelativeLayout01" android:layout_width="fill_parent" xmlns:android="http://schemas.android.com/apk/res/android" android:padding="10dip" android:layout_height="fill_parent" android:maxHeight="64dip" android:minHeight="?android:attr/listPreferredItemHeight"> <ImageView android:id="@+id/infoimage" android:layout_width="wrap_content" android:layout_height="wrap_content" android:clickable="true" android:src="@drawable/info_icon_big" android:layout_alignParentRight="true" android:layout_centerVertical="true"/> <View android:id="@+id/divider" android:background="@drawable/divider_vertical_dark" android:layout_marginLeft="11dip" android:layout_toLeftOf="@+id/infoimage" android:layout_width="1px" android:layout_height="fill_parent" android:layout_marginTop="5dip" android:layout_marginBottom="5dip" android:layout_marginRight="4dip"/> <TextView android:id="@+id/TextView01" android:textAppearance="?android:attr/textAppearanceLarge" android:layout_width="wrap_content" android:layout_height="wrap_content" android:layout_centerVertical="true" android:layout_toRightOf="@+id/ImageView01" android:layout_toLeftOf="@+id/divider" android:gravity="left|center_vertical" android:layout_marginLeft="4dip" android:layout_marginRight="4dip"/> <ImageView android:id="@+id/ImageView01" android:layout_width="wrap_content" android:layout_height="wrap_content" android:layout_alignParentLeft="true" android:background="@drawable/bborder" android:layout_centerVertical="true"/> </RelativeLayout> The issue I'm facing is that each row has a thumbnail of varying height (ImageView01). If I set the RelativeLayout's layout_height property to fill_parent, the divider does not scale vertically to fill the row (it just remains a 1px dot). If I set layout_height to "?android:attr/listPreferredItemHeight", the divider fills the row, but the thumbnails shrink. I've done some debugging in the getView() method of the adapter, and it seems that the divider's height is not being set properly once the row has it's proper height. Here is a portion of the getView() method: public View getView(int position, View view, ViewGroup parent) { if (view == null) { view = inflater.inflate(R.layout.tag_list_item, parent, false); } The rest of the method simply sets the appropriate text and images for the row. Also, I create the inflater object in the adapter's constructor with: inflater = LayoutInflater.from(context); Am I missing something essential? Or does fill_parent just not work with dynamic heights?

  • Sorting Android ListView

    - by aeoth
I'm only starting with Android dev, and while the Milestone is a nice device Java is not my natural language and I'm struggling with both the Google docs on Android SDK, Eclipse and Java itself. Anyway... I'm writing a microblog client for Android to go along with my Windows client (MahTweets). At the moment I've got Tweets coming and going without fail, the problem is with the UI. The initial call will order items correctly (as in highest to lowest) 3 2 1 When a refresh is made 3 2 1 6 5 4 After the tweets are processed, I'm calling adapter.notifyDataSetChanged(); Initially I thought that getItem() on the Adapter needed to be sorted (and the code below is what I ended up with), but I'm still not having any luck. public class TweetAdapter extends BaseAdapter { private List<IStatusUpdate> elements; private Context c; public TweetAdapter(Context c, List<IStatusUpdate> Tweets) { this.elements = Tweets; this.c = c; } public int getCount() { return elements.size(); } public Object getItem(int position) { Collections.sort(elements, new IStatusUpdateComparator()); return elements.get(position); } public long getItemId(int id) { return id; } public void Remove(int id) { notifyDataSetChanged(); } public View getView(int position, View convertView, ViewGroup parent) { RelativeLayout rowLayout; IStatusUpdate t = elements.get(position); rowLayout = t.GetParent().GetUI(t, parent, c); return rowLayout; } class IStatusUpdateComparator implements Comparator { public int compare(Object obj1, Object obj2) { IStatusUpdate update1 = (IStatusUpdate)obj1; IStatusUpdate update2 = (IStatusUpdate)obj2; int result = update1.getID().compareTo(update2.getID()); if (result == -1) return 1; else if (result == 1) return 0; return result; } } } Is there a better way to go about sorting ListViews in Android, while still being able to use the LayoutInflater? (rowLayout = t.GetParent().GetUI(t, parent, c) expands the UI to the specific view which the microblog implementation can provide)

  • Android ListView style

    - by xger86x
Hi, I have a question about list views. I hope someone knows the solution, because I have been trying to solve this problem all weekend. I have a custom list view in which every row have a custom .xml (item_row.xml) with a set color background for the row item. <?xml version="1.0" encoding="utf-8"?> <LinearLayout xmlns:android="http://schemas.android.com/apk/res/android" android:layout_width="fill_parent" android:layout_height="70dip" android:orientation="vertical" android:background="@drawable/list_bg"> The problem is that when I try to make a selector for the list. I want two things: When the item is focused, the typical orange rectangle should appear over it, and the same When the item is pressed. I have proved with a selector and a custom style but all I get is or the selector doesn't appear or the selector covering the item so I can't see it. If anyone could help me with finding the right code I would be very grateful. Thanks

  • C# - Kinetic scrolling with ListBox or ListView?

    - by fonix232
I am doing a simple application for touch screen devices, and I would like to implement today's fashion: kinetic scrolling. Is it possible to do, and if yes, how? PS: Kinetic scrolling: A scrolling mechanism where you don't use a scrollbar to scroll the content, but you touch the list itself, and pull and push it. The "physics engine" then counts out the speed, and stops based on the given settings.

  • My Android ListView item layout looks terrible

    - by jnylen
    I wanted to create a layout like the CyanogenMod call log in that there is a list item and a call button on the left which gets focus separately (screenshot). Instead, I get this mess. Here's my code: <RelativeLayout xmlns:android="http://schemas.android.com/apk/res/android" android:minHeight="?android:attr/listPreferredItemHeight" android:layout_width="fill_parent" android:layout_height="fill_parent" android:paddingLeft="4dip" > <DontPressWithParentImageView android:id="@+id/play_icon" android:layout_width="wrap_content" android:layout_height="fill_parent" android:paddingLeft="14dip" android:paddingRight="14dip" android:layout_alignParentRight="true" android:gravity="center_vertical" android:src="@drawable/sym_play" android:background="@drawable/play_background" /> <View android:id="@+id/divider" android:layout_width="1px" android:layout_height="fill_parent" android:layout_marginTop="5dip" android:layout_marginBottom="5dip" android:layout_toLeftOf="@id/play_icon" android:layout_marginLeft="2dip" android:background="@drawable/divider_vertical_dark" /> <TextView android:id="@+id/file_info" android:layout_width="wrap_content" android:layout_height="wrap_content" android:layout_alignParentBottom="true" android:layout_marginBottom="8dip" android:layout_marginTop="-10dip" android:layout_marginLeft="10dip" android:layout_alignWithParentIfMissing="true" android:singleLine="true" android:ellipsize="marquee" android:textAppearance="?android:attr/textAppearanceSmall" android:textStyle="bold" /> <TextView android:id="@+id/file_title" android:layout_width="wrap_content" android:layout_height="wrap_content" android:layout_alignParentTop="true" android:layout_above="@id/file_info" android:layout_alignWithParentIfMissing="true" android:layout_marginBottom="-10dip" android:layout_marginLeft="4dip" android:textAppearance="?android:attr/textAppearanceLarge" android:singleLine="true" android:ellipsize="marquee" android:gravity="center_vertical" /> </RelativeLayout> For reference, the code I started with is here and here, and the source to DontPressWithParentImageView is here (but as you can see from my screenshot, that part is working). What am I doing wrong?

  • C# - adding new groups with items and subitems to a listview

    - by Nike
Hello there. The following code adds a new item, and a new group with the text "Default". If i keep clicking the button, it will just keep adding new items to that particular group. ListViewItem item = new ListViewItem(""); item.SubItems.Add(""); csslistview.Items.Add(item); What i'm trying to do, is to add a new group and fill it with one empty item, aswell as one empty subitem. And when i click the button again, i want it to create a new group, and do the same thing. I have a textbox were the user has to fill in the name of the group, so there wont be any groups with the same name (hopefully). The following code, i think, creates a new group: ListViewGroup group = new ListViewGroup(newGroupName); group.Items.Add(newGroupName); csslistview.Groups.Add(group); but as empty groups aren't showed, i can't really verify that it actually creates new groups. Well, thanks in advance. -Nike

  • How to stop scrolling in a virtual (LVS_OWNERDATA) listview in LVS_REPORT mode when using changing t

    - by David L Morris
Win32 Virtual listviews (LVS_REPORT view) created with the LVS_OWNERDATA style are supposed not to scroll when LVSICF_NOSCROLL is used in the LVM_SETITEMCOUNT message or ListView_SetItemCountEx macro, according the MSDN documentation. However, this doesn't seem work, and the list-view scrolls regardless of the use of LVSICF_NOSCROLL. In these sorts of cases, 99% of the time it is something I have done incorrectly or overlooked. But, I've now run out of options. Have I missed something?

  • In listview,Viewstub cannot be found after the previous one is inflate

    - by user2958132
I am using some list item layout and in the item layout, there is a Viewstub where I want to put some image in.I don't have the source of list item layout and just know there are some TextViews and ViewStubs in it. My purpose is to find the ViewStub first and set my personal layout and play with it. However, some of the ViewStub cannot be found. public class TJAdapter extends CursorAdapter { .... public void bindView(View view, Context context, Cursor cursor) { ViewStub contentstub = (ViewStub)item.findViewById(R.id.content_stub); if (contentstub == null){ LOG.error("TJ,contentstub is null"); } else { LOG.error("TJ,contentstub is not null"); contentstub.setLayoutResource(R.layout.icon_image); View iconImage = contentstub.inflate(); } .... } public View newView(Context context, Cursor cursor, ViewGroup parent) { final View view = mInflater.inflate(R.layout.list_item, parent, false); bindView(view, context, cursor); } And the log output is like this: TJ,bindView is called TJ,contentstub is not null TJ,bindView is called TJ,contentstub is null TJ,bindView is called TJ,contentstub is not null TJ,bindView is called TJ,contentstub is not null TJ,bindView is called TJ,contentstub is null TJ,bindView is called TJ,contentstub is not null I spent a lot of time on it and have no idea why this happens.
