    Is there a way to modify the bat file from this post here: How do I set the desktop background on Windows from a script? so that it will randomly select 1 background image from a folder containing multiple images??? AND I would also like the background to randomly change to one of the backgrounds randomly contained in the same folder.     How can I intercept submitted form input and modify it before it is bound to my model? For example, if I wanted to trim the whitespace from all text.   • Under an Xampp install, I modify the apache httpd-vhosts.conf file and then my Apache server will not start

    I have read all the articles but still must be doing something wrong... I modified the httpd-vhosts.conf file to access the project I am working on... I have tried many different configurations and none work. My apache service will not start (I am on Windows 7)... any ideas would be helpful - here is the code I added to the conf file: DocumentRoot "C:/xampp/htdocs" ServerName localhost DocumentRoot C:/xampp/htdocs/socengv1" ServerName socengv1.local I have also tried this with NameVirtualHost *:80 command with no difference to note.

  • Using Solaris zfs + iscsi targets with Oracle VM

    I was playing with my Oracle VM setup and needed some shared storage that was block based. I did not have a storage array available but I did have a solaris box, that I use for Oracle VDI, available. I set up a few iscsi targets on this solaris server and exported them to my 2 Oracle VM servers. Here's how I did this : (1) On the solaris side : # zpool list NAME SIZE USED AVAIL CAP HEALTH ALTROOT rpool 544G 129G 415G 23% ONLINE - I just have a simple zpool, called rpool, on this box. It has plenty of space available for my needs. I am setting up an 11gR2 rac template (the cool stuff Saar did) so I am using my devices to create a 2 node RAC cluster with phy: devices.

  • How to modify Dreamweaver's SpryMenuBar.js to send a msgbox on what menu was clicked?

    I have a simple HTML webpage made in Dreamweaver with a SpryMenuBar. When I click on a menu item, I want to send a pop up message box that says which menu item was clicked. (This is not really my objective but once I can learn to hook into the spry java script with a mouse click listener I can try to do what I am really after.) The problem is for some reason I can't seem to get started with this seemingly simple task. Does anybody know how to revise the SpryMenuBar.js to make a msgbox showing the item that was clicked? For example if I click a menu that say's 'Contact us', I wan't to throw a message box that says "You pressed, Contact us". Note: My final objective is to actually call another function that changes text in the center of my page, depending on what menu item was clicked.

  • Should I modify an entity with many parameters or with the entity itself?

    We have a SOA-based system. The service methods are like: UpdateEntity(Entity entity) For small entities, it's all fine. However, when entities get bigger and bigger, to update one property we should follow this pattern in UI: Get parameters from UI (user) Create an instance of the Entity, using those parameters Get the entity from service Write code to fill the unchanged properties Give the result entity to the service Another option that I've experienced in previous experiences is to create semantic update methods for each update scenario. In other words instead of having one global all-encompasing update method, we had many ad-hoc parametric methods. For example, for the User entity, instead of having UpdateUser (User user) method, we had these methods: ChangeUserPassword(int userId, string newPassword) AddEmailToUserAccount(int userId, string email) ChangeProfilePicture(int userId, Image image) ... Now, I don't know which method is truly better, and for each approach, we encounter problems. I mean, I'm going to design the infrastructure for a new system, and I don't have enough reasons to pick any of these approaches. I couldn't find good resources on the Internet, because of the lack of keywords I could provide. What approach is better? What pitfalls each has? What benefits can we get from each one?

    I am trying to update target m/c grub.cfg file for KGDB setup but while booting the m/c it got hung completely and not asking/waiting for remote gdb connection. I understand that the UI would be vastly different, but the question remains, is it possible at all to overlay content or change behavior of the Gmail app for android.   • Allow a web designer to modify DNS without letting them transfer the domain?

    We are in the process of having a web designer create a new website for us, but I don't want to give access to the control panel for the domain names (and have no way to limit it, it seems), while at the same time I don't want to be the go between guy for editing the settings. Is there a way or a service for me to point the domains at a 3rd party DNS system, that I can then give access for the web designer, without worrying that he can find my personal info or try and transfer my domain out?

    Pretty much everything is in the title, really! ;) I installed a few components to compile go programs, and the last step was to add the go directory to the path. Being a total ubuntu noob, I added the line PATH="Path/To/Folder", after the one that was already there. After the first reboot I can no longer log into ubuntu (the screen black-out for a while and then I'm back to the login screen, and the same chime greets me.) I've been able to boot in recovery mode, open the root's profile with vi, but I cant find my other user's profile, nor pretty much anything.. Any hint would be greatly appreciated! Pascal

    this is my first question on this particular stackexchange node, not sure if it's the most appropriate place for this question (if not, guidance to the appropriate node would be appreciated). the abstract: I'm interested in modifying existing video codecs and distributing my modded codecs in such a way as to make them easily added to a users codec library... for example to be added to their mpeg streamclip, ffmpeg etc. some details: I've had some experience modifying codecs by hacking ffmpeg source files and compiling my hacked code (so that for ex: my version of ffmpeg has a very different h.263 than yours). I'm interested now in taking these modified codecs and somehow making them easily distributable, so others could "add them" to their "libraries." Also, I realize there are some tricky rights/patent issues here, this is in part my motivation.     I want to make certain directories on my drives read-only except to particular programs who will have full permissions. For example, the Microsoft Word might be allowed to modify the files in my Documents folder, but other programs (such as the Command Prompt) would not be allowed to. I'm guessing this requires a file system filter driver of some sort, but I don't know which programs have this capability. Is there any (free) program that can do this for me?

  • Why is Read-Modify-Write necessary for registers on embedded systems?

    I was reading http://embeddedgurus.com/embedded-bridge/2010/03/different-bit-types-in-different-registers/, which said: With read/write bits, firmware sets and clears bits when needed. It typically first reads the register, modifies the desired bit, then writes the modified value back out and I have run into that consrtuct while maintaining some production code coded by old salt embedded guys here. I don't understand why this is necessary. When I want to set/clear a bit, I always just or/nand with a bitmask. To my mind, this solves any threadsafe problems, since I assume setting (either by assignment or oring with a mask) a register only takes one cycle. On the other hand, if you first read the register, then modify, then write, an interrupt happening between the read and write may result in writing an old value to the register. So why read-modify-write? Is it still necessary?

Essentially what I need to do is modify the part of the Wizard process when creating a sub-project. I need to figure out how a line is inserted into the smmActivities table, so that I can modify the “Activity Purpose” field (prefix it with the Activity Purpose of its parent Project from the ProjTable Form) following the “Finish” button click on the ProjTableWizard form. So far I have been unable to figure out how the ProjTableWizard form is triggering this insert into smmActivities (and how the Purpose field is being populated from the Wizard). Any help would be greatly appreciated! Thanks

I know there are tools such as baksmali / smali to disassemble / re-assemble given classes.dex from .apk, but not sure limitation what could be modified from there on? I'm trying to add additional activity, to modify starting launcher activity (may be from androidmanifest.xml) from original apk, then re-pack and sign to make complete single .apk... all need to be done out of build time, no raw source or build structure visible, only .apk as input... ANY IDEA?
