  • How do I get a Canon imageClass MF4350d printer working?

    I have an imageClass MF4350d printer/scanner/fax. I've tried to install the drivers. The printer is recognized in the system settings, but nothing prints. The scanner is working in simple scan. I tried following all of the troubleshooting suggestions in this thread with no success I downloaded this driver. I downloaded the Linux_UFRII_PrinterDriver_V230_uk_EN from Canon: Installation: 1st attempt: I installed the CNCUPSMF4350ZK.ppd file in the printer settings and moved the pstoufr2cpca file to /usr/lib/cups/filter. 2nd attempt: I followed forum advice of installing a fake gs-esp to tell the system that "gs-esp" is PROVIDED by the package "fake-gs-esp" I then converted the RPM sudo apt-get install alien sudo alien -k cndrvcups-common-2.20-1.x86_64.rpm sudo alien -k cndrvcups-ufr2-uk-2.20-1.x86_64.rpm I then installed the resulting .deb packages. Since I'm new to Linux, as much detail as possible in your suggestions would be very appreciated. I am still learning how to use the Terminal. Thank you very much!

    I have newly installed Ubuntu 12.04. I have Canon MG6360 printer/scanner. I have successfully installed printer drivers and can print okay. Have downloaded MG6300 series ScanGear MP Ver. 2.00 for Linux (deb) from Canon but don't know how to install this from terminal. I apologise for having to ask such a basic question! Thanks. Later...I have extracted the files. Question appears: Do I want to run install.sh? I click 'run in terminal', and enter password. I don't know if it installed and don't know how to check. Scanner does not work or 'see' the PC. Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

  • Can't print on my brand new Canon Pixma MP495

    I just purchased a Canon Pixma MP495. It was working perfect, except for the scanner. It won't install the driver for the scanner. Anyway, I was printing using the new printer. After a while, it started saying that the printing job was sent to the printer and then that the print job was completed. But, nothing came out of the printer. I uninstalled the driver and installed it over again. Nothing. Can somebody help me out. Can't work without a printer. Thanks in advance.

It's instructed that I need to use the String library compareTo()/charAt()/toLowerCase() to make all the characters lowercase so the Lexicon comparison is also a alphabetical comparison. The bubble sort seems to be more efficient though they seem to have equal stats for worst best and avg case, but I read the Insertion Sort is quicker for small amounts of data like my case.

    this is my first question I've posted. I've used this site to look at other questions to help with similar problems I've had. After some cursory looking I couldn't find quite the answer I was looking for so I decided to finally succumb and create an account. I am fairly new to java, only a few weeks into my first class. Anyway, my project is to create a program which takes any amount of students and their grades, and then assign them a letter grade. The catch is, however, that it is on a sort of curve and the other grades' letter are dependent on the the highest. Anything equal to or 10 points below the best grade is an a, anything 11-20 points below is a b, and so on. I am to use an array, but I get this error when ran "Exception in thread "main" java.lang.ArrayIndexOutOfBoundsException." I will go ahead and post my code down below.   • ipv6 port 445 does not accept the request from a global type address

    I want to scan the port 445 in windows server 2003, but my scanner only have one type ipv6 address which is global not link-local. When I do this,I find that I can't find port 445 open. But I use the command "netstat -an" to assure the port 445 is listening. Finally I find this confusing phenomenon: 1.when I set a link-local ddress in my scanner, then it will work in scanning port 445. 2.when I only set a global address in my scanner, it doed not work. This means if a host with a link-local address use socket to send a syn packet to the port 445 in server 2003, it will receive a ack packet. But if with a global address it will receive a rst packet. Thus, I can't scan the port 445 in server 2003 with a global address. I need to know why? Can anybody help? And I use the netsh-firewall to check the exception and netsh-interface-ipv6 to turn off the firewall on the specific interface. Still can't establish the connection with port 445, do you have any ideal about this ?

  • Windows CE restores default configuration after restart (Motorola MC3190)

    Good morning, everyone! I have a problem with Motorola MC3190 hand scanner running on Windows CE. I've got few of those to make a new program for some kind of warehouse. There is already installed program which have been used by the customers before, so I delete this one and instead I install my new software which I've just made. It is running very well, but when I take out the battery and leave the device for entire night without power supply, it restores the whole configuration, so the old program is back, the wireless configuration is back and... Yeah. The scanner is restored to the configuration which was running when I received it few weeks ago. What I want to do is to set the whole configuration of the scanner so after a long power-off my program and my configuration will be restored. I truly believe someone knows how to do it. The time is running out, and I believe that the customer will be kind of annoyed when he will change the battery and the program which he bought will be gone. ;-) Regards, Jarek

  • exim4 to relay emails

    I have exim4 installed on a Linux box. The basics work fine and I can send email from that machine without any problem to whatever email address. I also have a printer/scanner which is capable to send scans as emails. It needs an SMTP gateway to be able to do that. So I give the IP address of that Linux box, changed the configuration a little bit but still cannot get it to work. After I run dpkg-reconfigure exim4-config, here is what I get in /etc/exim4/update-exim4.conf.conf : dc_eximconfig_configtype='internet' dc_other_hostnames='' dc_local_interfaces='127.0.0.1;192.168.2.2' dc_readhost='' dc_relay_domains='mycompanyemail.com' dc_minimaldns='false' dc_relay_nets='192.168.2.0/24' dc_smarthost='' CFILEMODE='644' dc_use_split_config='false' dc_hide_mailname='' dc_mailname_in_oh='true' dc_localdelivery='mail_spool' My problem is that with this configuration, I can only send to emails @mycompanyemail.com... It says I can use wildcard, but when I do that, the '*' is replaced by whatever filename is in the directory where I run all that. How can I configure it to be able to send emails with any domain ? Or am I doing it wrong ?     Hi, I'm using the Scanner class in java to go through a a text file and extract each sentence. I'm using the setDelimiter method on my Scanner to the regex: Pattern.compile("[\\w]*[\\.|?|!][\\s]") This currently seems to work, but it leaves the whitespace at the end of the sentence. Is there an easy way to match the whitespace at the end but not include it in the result? I realize this is probably an easy question but I've never used regex before so go easy :)
