    Hi all, I'm trying to watermark the asp:Login controls' Username and Password fields with jQuery, I've tried various ways of referencing the control ID: $('#<%=ClientID.Login1_UserName %>').watermark('watermark', 'Username'); I have tried moving the ClientID, Login1 and UserName around and changing the selectors to and from userscores and periods... Any ideas?

    I was watching the HaHaa presentation on ASP.NET MVC from MIX and they mentioned using a Post Model where I guess they were saying you could use a model that was ONLY for posting. I have tried looking for examples for this. Am I not understanding what they are saying? Does anyone have an example of how this might work in a strongly typed view where the view model and post model are not of the same type?

    does anyone know how to use jquery modal dialog in asp.net pages? http://jqueryui.com/demos/dialog/ I've tried creating a simple aspx page, pasted code from the example (http://jqueryui.com/demos/dialog/), it almost works. The dialog briefly shows up and then disappears. It seems that the page is doing a postback. I'm not sure how to stop it, so that the modal dialog stays up.

For this, I have added a stopwatch which starts at the service call start and stops at service call stop. Now I have a custom counter which user AverageTimer32 to log the stopwatch values to Perfmon. My question is, how can I show the service names on the Perfmon graph. I am using windows XP (I know windows server perfmon has some fancy stuff).

It works fine, however when user is successfully logged, I would like to create an Operator object and make it possible to access this object on every controller and view. I was thinking about session to do this but when session expires this object is null but user that had been logged using MembershipProvider is still logged in. Is there any way I can store my Operator object in MembershipProvider and access it on every controller and view I need?

  • asp.net prevent form submission twice

    I have a web forms web application (asp.net 2.0). When the user submits the form I have the submit link actually going away so they can't submit it again. However, they could press F5 and that is causing another insert into the database, which I don't want to have happen. Is there a setting of some sort that I can set if/when they do press F5 to tell the page - don't submit again?

Also what’s TModel that’s associated with viewdata? How does one utilize TModel? The viewdata explanation in spark view engine talks about TModel and I couldn’t get a clue of how I can use it in my projects. Can someone help me?

    Hello, We have a series of products with built in web servers each of which has a login page, a customer wants to create a web portal in which they log into once, from there they can simply click on any of the devices (external websites) and it will automatically login to that site and redirect them to the page after the login screen. The portal is using ASP.NET MVC, the external devices are Windows CE based units running embedded web servers. Can find a lot on scraping, but not much on redirection after the event. Only slight annoyance is that when developing new plugins, I don't get intellisense on classes inside the App_Code directory. Currently I am creating them in another directory inside my project and then copying them into App_Code. is there any way around this?
