    In Learning WCF, by Michele Bustamante, there is a section that describes a binding called the NetNamedPipes binding. The books says that this binding can only be used for WCF services that will be called exclusively from the same machine. Under what circumstances would it make sense to use this? Ordinarily, I would write asynchronous code without using WCF... Why would Microsoft provide something for WCF that can only run on the same machine?

I would like to implement a 'select all' feature to the form and am trying to understand how to format the JavaScript. My research thus far has pointed me to the possibility of using a FOR statement to iterate through all of the elements in the section I want to process, setting their values accordingly, but am unsure of which document.getElements ... method to utilize.

  • JQM dialog is opening in new page instead of dialog

    Thank you for taking the time to read my question. I'm trying to get a dialog box to open using Jquery mobile. I followed the documentation and used the data-rel="dialog" notation along with the data-transition="pop". Instead of a dialog appearing on the same page, I get a brand new page with the dialog appearing. Can someone kindly assist me on how to fix this functionality. However, when I use both, I find that neither works correctly. What do I need to do to fix this?

  • Drupal blocks are syncing?

    I am trying to enable a new theme on a site running Drupal 6.16. I enable it fine, it has its own namespace in the theme and theme registry. However when you go to the Blocks section, changing a block here will affect that blocks placement in all the other themes, and vice versa. Is this normal behavior? Where should I begin looking to solve this issue?

  • Can I restore a single table from a full mysql mysqldump file?

    I have a mysqldump backup of my mysql database consisting of all of our tables which is about 440 megs. I want to restore the contents of just one of the tables form the mysqldump. Is this possible? Theoretically, I could just cut out the section that rebuilds the table I want but I don't even know how to effectively edit a text document that size.

This error can be caused by a virtual directory not being configured as an application in IIS." Please help about the steps I need to follow.

Can someone help me understand a few points for the screenshot below? What is the root layout used here? How do I get the button bar to remain at the bottom, while the center section scrolls when it is long enough? Similar to the Ok/Cancel buttons seen here, how do I make them each 50% width (minus some margin and padding)?

    None of the scribe examples I've seen actually mention the best way to take logs/logfiles and send them to scribe. I could configure a logrotate script that has a postrotate section that "cats" the rotated file to scribe (but then I get minutes latency at best). The other option is to keep a "tail -f= | my_scribe_sender" and hope that the process never gets killed. However then you really can't guarantee that you're not missing/duplicating data.

    I have a ~23000 line sql dump containing several databases worth of data. I need to extract a certain section of this file (i.e. the data for a single database) and place it in a new file. I know both the start and end line numbers of the data that I want. Does anyone know a unix command (or series of commands) to extract all lines from a file between say line 16224 and 16482 and then redirect them into a new file?

  • iPhone OpenGL scrolling background jumps when texture is drawn for first time

    I have been fighting a problem for a while now and would appreciate any help anybody could give. I have a sprite that moves within a landscape. The sprite remains in the center of the screen and the background moves to simulate that the sprite is moving within the landscape. I have split the landscape into sections so that I only draw the sections of the landscape that I need (are on screen). The Problem: As a new texture section of the screen appears on the screen (is drawn for the first time) the movement jumps. Almost like a frame is missed. I have done some timing experiments and I do not thinks a frame is missed. My processing is well below the 30fps that I have the animation set to. It only happens the first time the texture section is drawn. Is there something extra that is done the first time a texture is drawn?     Hi, I have a report in report services 2005 that has two date fields. The problem is that if users run this for a large section of time it uses too much resources on our server. It is possible to only allow the end user to enter the start date and then the end date be auto populated/derived from this field (for example they enter the 1st of a month and this automatically change the end date to the last of a month.)
