• Extracting glyph-path information from ttf files

  I'm trying to figure out a way to extract the information encoded in ttf files. namely: The char-to-glyph table and the individual glyph path data. Does anyone have a good reference explaining the ttf file structure, or some other solution? Keep in mind that I'm not interested in any libraries that can do it for me either (unless they are open source and I can see how they are doing it). The "master" goal is to implement it in Javascript. Thanks!

  Using an NSPredicate for an array is rather straight forward using filteredArrayUsingPredicate:. How is this done for key-path values? Meaning, I have an array of objects (in this case, the objects are of the same type). The objects each have an instance variable called name. As per the documentation, it says to do the following: NSPredicate *predicate = [NSPredicate predicateWithFormat: @"ANY employees.firstName like 'Matthew'"]; Is that -also- used in filteredArrayUsingPredicate?   Hello, I am trying to validate Elements and Attributes exist in an XElement. Basically, I was wondering if anyone had a generic way to check if a give path is null. I don't have access to System.Xml.XPath (doing this for compact framework). Basically what I have is: <root value"1000"> <element1>test<element1> <element2>1<element2> .... <element30> <subElement1>stuff</subElement1> </element30> </root> Now I know you can "if this is null do this and that". But since there is upwards of 30 elements that can be under root, which are optional elements, I need a way to grab the value if it exists and convert it to the correct type (which I know) in a nice compact way. Any suggestions?

  My question is similar to this one but none of the answers solve my problem: Use JQuery preventDefault(), but still add the path to the URL When a user clicks a fragment link, I need to remove the default behaviour of jumping to the fragment but still add the fragment to the URL. This code (taken from the link) will fire the animation, and then add the fragment to the URL. • NpgSQL insert file path containing backslashes "\\"

  I am trying to create a record containing the path to a file. The insertion is done into a Postgres database where UTF8 is enabled, using the NpqSQL driver. My table definition: CREATE TABLE images ( id serial, file_location character varying NOT NULL ) My SQL statement (boiled down to a minimum): INSERT INTO images (file_location) VALUES (E'\\2010') When using pgAdmin to insert the above statement, it works fine. Using the NpgSQL driver through Visual Studio C#, it fails with this exception: "ERROR: 22021: invalid byte sequence for encoding \"UTF8\": 0x81" Replacing my SQL statement with the following: INSERT INTO images (file_location) VALUES (E'\\a2010') ^ The E is encouraged by pgAdmin when using double backslashes. So a quick recap: Why is NpqSQL stopping my insertion of the \\2010?

I have a following Kohana setup: All my files are placed under 'public_html/koh' My js files are placed under 'public_html/koh/media/js/' I use html::script helper to include those javascript files which generates me following html code: In my js I access one of controllers like 'json/getsomething' (which is http://localhost/koh/json/getsomething). It works OK as long as I'm staying in top of the controller: http://localhost/koh/home When I go to 'http://localhost/koh/home/index' it renders the same page of course but 'json/getsomething' is not accessible from Javascript anymore. How can I solve this problem? Include Javascript using absolute path? Create a variable in js like var fullPath = 'http://localhost/koh/'? What is the best practice to do it? Leonti

• Removing the obstacle that yields the best path from a map after A* traversal

  I traverse a 16x16 maze using my own A* implementation. This is exactly what my program does: http://www.screenjelly.com/watch/fDQh98zMP0c?showTab=share All is well. However, after the traversal, I would like to find out what wall would give me the best alternative path. Apart from removing every block and re-running A* on the maze, what's a clever solution? I was thinking give every wall node (ignored by A*), a tentative F-value, and change the node structure to also have a n-sized list of node *tentative_parent where n is the number of walls in the maze. Could this be viable?

• Is it possible to stream a file to and from servers without holding the data in ram?

  Hi everyone! PHP question (new to PHP after 10 years of Perl, arrggghhh!). I have a 100mb file that I want to send to another server. I have managed to read the file in and "post" it without curl (cannot use curl for this app). Everything is working fine on smaller files. However, with the larger files, PHP complains about not being able to allocate memory. Is there a way to open a file, line by line, and send it as a post ALSO line by line? This way nothing is held in ram thus preventing my errors and getting around strict limitations. Chris

• Drawing a path with a line in OpenLayers using JavaScript

  I have seen the examples presented here of how to draw a line but the examples only show how to do it with the mouse, by clicking. What I want to do is draw the line manually using JavaScript given a list of Longitude and Latitude coordinates. The reason I cannot work on the source provided in the link above is because they are only calling activate on the feature, and then let the user point and click on the map. Has anyone ever drew a path on an OpenLayers map programatically? What I want to do is exactly this: http://openspace.ordnancesurvey.co.uk/openspace/example4.html, but without using OpenSpace.

• Building a clip area in a UIView from path objects in its subviews

  I'm trying to produce a clipping area in a UIView that's generated from path objects in its subviews. For example, I might have one subview containing a square and another containing a circle. I want to be able to produce a clip in the parent superview that's the union of both these shapes. Can someone explain how to do this? About all I've been able to figure out so far is that: 1 - the superview's drawRect: method is called before its subviews' drawRects are, and 2 - the ContextRef that's accessible in all three instances is the same.   I am experiencing a classic JS case (in my opinion) but after a lot of googling, still not able to find a solution. Backslash is considered as a escape character in JS but what you need when you need to pass windows path from the JS and print it? I am using eval because my java applet is executing the code and placing bits when it has a string to evaluate.   I am trying to add the path /_vti_bin/Lists.asmx to my ASP.NET MVC 2 web application. Is this even possible in MVC? Do I need to add an Lists.asmx ASPX web service file to my project in a particular place (I cannot create the _vti_bin folder in the Visual Studio project)?

• Trac: Changesets lost after changing SVN repository path

  Last evening I did some housekeeping on our code repository - basically moved the code from /repo/trunk to /repo/projectname/trunk. I changed the repo path on my trac.ini - after which trac complained the repository needed to be resynced. So I ran: trac-admin /var/trac/projectname resync and all was well. Then I checked the changesets against the ticket and found that trac no longer has a link to show the code against changesets - says "No changeset XXX in repository". Has anyone here had the same issue they managed to solve? I need the broken links to the changeset fixed. Thank you

• MSBuild - setting a reference path

  I have several assemblies my project is dependant upon. These are stored in the Project's directory under the "Dependencies" folder. So something like this. Solution - Project - Dependancies FunkyAssembly.dll - bin - Debug - Release SomeCode.cs I've referenced FunkyAssembly.dll using Browse and in project.csproj I see <Reference Include="FunkyAssembly"> <HintPath>Dependancies\FunkyAssembly.dll</HintPath> </Reference> So far so good - except after a release build FunkyAssembly.dll is copied to the Release directory (not a problem in itself) but then future debug builds will reference this copy rather than the copy in Dependencies. You can see this if you at Path in the reference properties. This means that if Dependencies\FunkyAssembly.dll is updated the build won't pick it up as its referencing the old copy in bin/Release. Any way to FORCE the damn thing to pick up Dependencies\FunkyAssembly.dll rather than HINT?

• Android: How to read a txt file which contains Chinese characters?

  Hallo, i have a txt file which contains many chinese characters, and the txt file is in the directory res/raw/test.txt. I want to read the file but somehow i can't make the chinese characters displayed correctly. • Is there a Windows API to modify file type associations for an extension?

  I'm looking for a way to programatically tweak the particulars of a file association on a Windows system. For example, the "Application User to Perform this Action" setting for the "Open" action for a particular file type. Clearly I could do this by modifying the registry directly, but if there is an API I'd prefer to use that as it would likely be more resilient to changes in the OS handling of mapping extensions to applications. For my purposes I'm needing to write this in VBScript (.VBS) file because it is part of a package to be used with VMWare ThinApp that mandates it. However, I'll port/wrap/whatever I need to make this week, so I am open to any solution (including using the .NET framework)

• Late resolution of MSI variable for part of install folder path

  In a setup project, on User Interface, I've created a RadioButtons (3 Buttons) dialog box. I've placed it before the Installation Folder Dialog. I wish to incorporate the value selected in the RadioButtons dialog as part of the Installation Folder. To do this I've placed the name of the variable amongst the path where I wish to use it in the DefaultLocation: [ProgramFilesFolder][Manufacturer]\[ProductName]\[BUTTON3] The effect of this is that the default value for the variable, BUTTON3 in the example above, is resolved as part of the folder, not the selected value. Anybody know how to make this variable use delayed expansion in some way to get the selected value?

  Hi, I am trying to compile facebook library for my iphone application. But I am getting this error. error: FBConnect/FBConnect.h: No such file or directory I have added the location of the folder in header search paths and yet it is not compiling. This is the path that I have added- /Users/nishant/Downloads/facebook-facebook-iphone-sdk-1059eb6/src. I even tried the copy files to destination folder option, but that also did not work. I know this is a very simple step, but I am getting frustrated, because I have tried this like 20-30 times. Any help.

• Parsing JPEG file format: Format of entropy-coded segments (ECS) ?

  I'm having difficulty understanding the ITU-T T.81 spec for the JPEG file format. Hopefully someone else here has tried to parse JPEG files and/or knows about the details of this file format. The spec indiates that the ECS0 segment starts after the SOS segment but I can't find where in the spec it actually talks about the format of the ECS0 segment or how do detect its start. Simple JPEG implementations online are of limited help because they assume many things about the JPEGs they parse. Can anyone point me in the right direction? FYI: The JPEG file format spec is here.

  Suppose we have a DAG with edges labeled with numbers. Define the value of a path as the product of the labels. For each (source,sink)-pair I want to find the sum of the values of all the paths from source to sink. You can do this in polynomial time with dynamic programming, but there are still some choices that can be made in how you decompose the problem. In my case I have one DAG that has to be evaluated repeatedly with different labelings. My question is: for a given DAG, how can we pre-compute a good strategy for computing these values for different labelings repeatedly. It would be nice if there was an algorithm that finds an optimal way, for example a way that minimizes the number of multiplications. But perhaps this is too much to ask, I would be very happy with an algorithm that just gives a good decomposition.

• Cross platform unicode path handling

  I'm using boost::filesystem for cross-platform path manipulation, but this breaks down when calls need to be made down into interfaces I don't control that won't accept UTF-8. For example when using the Windows API, I need to convert to UTF-16, and then call the wide-string version of whatever function I was about to call, and then convert any output back to UTF-8. While the wpath, and other w* forms of many of the boost::filesystem functions help keep sanity, are there any suggestions for how best to handle this conversion to wide-string forms where needed, while maintaining consistency in my own code?
