  • issues using facebook iphone api to post image and text

    - by Joey
I have been trying to use the facebook iphone api to publish an image and some text from my app (i.e. using FBRequest call:@"facebook.stream.publish" with the appropriate params. I've found that the behavior is extremely erratic, as it first worked fine when I implemented it, then, completely stopped working (the request would fail and nothing would show up), and now sometimes posts only the text and most of the time posts only the image in a gallery style (returning a failure). I've read that it's something broken on Facebook's side, however, I see other people's games posting things periodically with images and text and wonder if I might be doing something fundamentally different that is much less reliable or stable. Has anyone encountered such an issue or has more familiarity with this?

  • Is there a way to send tracking info to Google Analytics from PHP ?

    - by seatoskyhk
I have a PHP code that will return a image. the link is given to 3rd party. so, i need to keep track where the php request coming from. Because the PHP only return the image, I cannot use the Javascript code for Google analytics. I know that I can get the information from the access.log, but i think I can't dump the access.log to GA for analyzing, right? so, is there a way that I can do in PHP (e.g. sending a CURL ), send somethig to Google Analytics for tracking?

  • Google Charts - Adding Tooltip to Colorized Column Chart

    - by David K
    I created a column chart with google charts that has a different color assigned to each column using the following posting: Assign different color to each bar in a google chart But now I'm trying to figure out how to customize the tooltips for each column to also include the number of users in addition to the percent, so "raw_data[i][1]" I would like it to look like "70% (80 Users)" I understand that there is "data.addColumn({type:'number',role:'tooltip'});" but I'm having trouble understanding how to implement it for this use-case. function drawAccountsChart() { var data = new google.visualization.DataTable(); var raw_data = [ ['Parents', 80, 160], ['Students', 94, 128], ['Teachers', 78, 90], ['Admins', 68, 120], ['Staff', 97, 111] ]; data.addColumn('string', 'Columns'); for (var i = 0; i < raw_data.length; ++i) { data.addColumn('number', raw_data[i][0]); } data.addRows(1); for (var i = 0; i < raw_data.length; ++i) { data.setValue(0, i+1, raw_data[i][1]/raw_data[i][2]*100); } var options = { height:220, chartArea: { left:30, width: "70%", height: "70%" }, backgroundColor: { fill:"transparent" }, tooltop:{ textStyle: {fontSize: "12px",}}, vAxis: {minValue: 0} }; var formatter = new google.visualization.NumberFormat({ suffix: '%', fractionDigits: 1 }); formatter.format(data, 1); formatter.format(data, 2); formatter.format(data, 3); formatter.format(data, 4); formatter.format(data, 5); var chart = new google.visualization.ColumnChart(document.getElementById('emailAccountsChart')); chart.draw(data, options); }

  • Facebook Graph API - Get like count on page/group photos

    - by JackLeo
I've been testing graph API and ran into a problem. How can I get like count from photos of a page/group? I'm administrator/creator of a group. When entering in https://developers.facebook.com/tools/explorer/ certain photo ID from that group it brings almost all data, even comments, but not the like count. For like part it needs (according to docs) access token despite the fact that anyone can access that info. How to get access token of my page/group with required permissions and how to use it to get info I need? If possible I would like to get JSON from a single address if it is possible.

  • Twitter Search API Question

    - by supermogx
I'm using the twitter search API to get twitter posts based on some keywords, using AND and OR keyword. It works OK, but I seem to get problems using hashtags... For example : Not returning any results : http://search.twitter.com/search.json?q="%23ipad+AND+%23ipod"+OR+"%23joke+AND+%23funny"&rpp=100&callback=? Returning results : http://search.twitter.com/search.json?q="ipad+AND+ipod"+OR+"joke+AND+funny"&rpp=100&callback=? But there's results with #ipod AND #ipad because when I search only for #ipod, I can see a lot of posts with both hashtags. Example : http://search.twitter.com/search.json?q=%23ipad&rpp=100&callback=? P.S. %23 = # Any idea?

  • Google Maps KML Solution Validation

    - by user728584
Google Maps newbie (GIS newbie), I'm looking at a solution to map an overlay (number of polygons) on-top of Google maps and wondered if using a KML file was a viable solution? Basically, I have a number of address (address data) that I will pass to our internal GIS system, the GIS system hands me back a KML file (one file with a number of different locations) and then I draw the polygon using the KML Layering options: https://developers.google.com/maps/documentation/javascript/layers Sound like a viable solution? Cheers

  • How to get to the key name of a referenced entity property from an entity instance without a datastore read in google app engine?

    - by Sumeet Pareek
Consider I have the following models - class Team(db.Model): # say I have just 5 teams name = db.StringProperty() class Player(db.Model): # say I have thousands of players name = db.StringProperty() team = db.ReferenceProperty(Team, collection_name="player_set") Key name for each Team entity = 'team_' , and for each Player entity = 'player_' By some prior arrangement I have a Team entity's (key_name, name) mapping available to me. For example (team_01, United States Of America), (team_02, Russia) etc I have to show all the players and their teams on a page. One way of doing this would be - players = Player.all().fetch(1000) # This is 1 DB read for player in players: # This will iterate 1000 times self.response.out.write(player.name) # This is obviously not a DB read self.response.out.write(player.team.name) #This is a total of 1x1000 = 1000 DB reads That is a 1001 DB reads for a silly thing. The interesting part is that when I do a db.to_dict() on players, it shows that for every player in that list there is 'name' of the player and there is the 'key_name' of the team available too. So how can I do the below ?? players = Player.all().fetch(1000) # This is 1 DB read for player in players: # This will iterate 1000 times self.response.out.write(player.name) # This is obviously not a DB read self.response.out.write(team_list[player.<SOME WAY OF GETTING TEAM KEY NAME>]) # Here 'team_list' already has (key_name, name) for all 5 teams I have been struggling with this for a long time. Have read every available documentation. I could just hug the person that can help me here :-) Disclaimer: The above problem description is not a real scenario. It is a simplified arrangement that represents my problem exactly. I have run into it in a rater complex and big GAE appication.

  • Rails 4 json return on API

    - by El - Key
I'm creating an API on my application. I currently overrided the as_json method in my model in order to be able to get attached files as well as logo from Paperclip : def as_json( options = {} ) super.merge(logo_small: self.logo.url(:small), logo_large: self.logo.url(:large), taxe: self.taxe, attachments: self.attachments) end Then within my controller, I'm doing : def index @products = current_user.products respond_with @products end def show respond_with @product end The problem is that on the index, I don't want get all the attachments. I only need it on the show method. So I tried it : def index @products = current_user.products respond_with @products, except: [:attachments] end But unfortunately it's not working. How can I do to not send :attachments? Thanks

  • Google Chrome Extension : Port: Could not establish connection. Receiving end does not exist

    - by tcornelis
I have been looking for an answer for almost a week now, but having read all the stackoverflow items i can't seem to find a solution that is working for me. The error that i'm having is : Port: Could not establish connection. Receiving end does not exist. lastError:30 set lastError:30 dispatchOnDisconnect messaging:277 folder layout : img developer_icon.png js sidebar.js main.js jquery-2.0.3.js manifest.json my the manifest.json file looks something like this (it is version 2) :` "browser_action": { "default_icon": "./img/developer_icon.png" }, "content_scripts": [ { "matches": ["*://*/*"], "js": ["./js/sidebar.js"], "run_at": "document_end" } ], "background" : { "scripts" : ["./js/main.js","./js/jquery-2.0.3.js"] }, I want to handle the user clicking the extension icon so i could inject a sidebar in the existing website (because the extension i would like to develop requires that amount of space). So in main.js : chrome.browserAction.onClicked.addListener(function(tab) { chrome.tabs.getSelected(null, function(tab){ chrome.tabs.sendMessage( //Selected tab id tab.id, //Params inside a object data {callFunction: "toggleSidebar"}, //Optional callback function function(response) { console.log(response); } ); }); }); and in sidebar.js : chrome.runtime.onMessage.addListener(function(req,sender,sendResponse){ console.log("sidebar handling request"); toggleSidebar(); }); but i'm never able to see the console.log in my console because of the error. Does someone know what i did wrong? Thanks in advance!

  • Durandal Google Maps not showing properly

    - by user1891037
Trying to show Google Maps using the Durandal. I'm now simply working with Durandal HTML Starter Kit so the other modules and all engine works properly. The thing is when I added the Google Map it doesn't fit the div size (the big part of div is just grey). As I understand, the problem is causing because Google Maps added before page is completely loaded. But I can't figure out how can I hook on page load event. Here is the module code: define(['knockout', 'gmaps'], function (ko, gmaps) { return { displayName: 'Google Maps', myMap: ko.observable({ lat: ko.observable(32), lng: ko.observable(10)}), activate: function () { console.log('activate'); ko.bindingHandlers.map = { init: function (element, valueAccessor, allBindingsAccessor, viewModel) { console.log('init'); var mapObj = ko.utils.unwrapObservable(valueAccessor()); var latLng = new gmaps.LatLng( ko.utils.unwrapObservable(mapObj.lat), ko.utils.unwrapObservable(mapObj.lng)); var mapOptions = { center: latLng, zoom: 5, mapTypeId: gmaps.MapTypeId.ROADMAP}; mapObj.googleMap = new gmaps.Map(element, mapOptions); } } }, attached: function() { console.log('attached'); }, compositionComplete: function() { console.log('compositionComplete'); } }; }); And a very simple HTML code: <section> <div id="gmap-canvas" data-bind="map:myMap"></div> </section> I'm loading Google Maps with async plug-in in my shell.js. It works fine. Screenshot with trouble here - http://clip2net.com/s/ibswAa P.S. div size is defined in .CSS file. P.S. I tried to use getElementById approach provided here and it's work great if placed in compositionComplete block. But when I tried to move my bindings to this block nothing happens at all. Thanks!

  • Google account: Can retrieve the picture from openid? Can I get it with OAuth to google?

    - by Jonathan
Hi! I need to retrieve the name, email and picture from a google account. I am already using the openid to make the user login with it's google acc. Can I have the picture URL from the openid proccess? with OAuth I cant'seem to find the right scope to retrieve this information... See this link: http://code.google.com/apis/gdata/docs/directory.html there is a list of scopes that you can fetch with REST api to google and I didnt't see the one related to the profile. Btw, I am using PHP and the openid is already working, but didn't start with the oauth untill I know if I can(and need) retrieve the picture (because email and name already comes within the openid proccess) thanks, Joe

  • Finding Windows printer driver name using API

    - by Scott Bussinger
I can't seem to find an API call that returns the driver name for a Windows printer. Note that I'm not talking about the friendly name of the printer in the printer folder, I'm talking about the name of actual driver being used as shown on the "Advanced" tab when you look at the printer properties: I'm trying to detect when I'm printing to the "Generic / Text Only" driver regardless of what name the user chooses for the printer. It doesn't seem like this should be hard, but I can't find it in the DEVMODE structure or anyplace else I've thought to look for it. Thanks for the help!

  • database modeling for google app engine for multiple revison of entity.

    - by iamgopal
hi, in my application ( kind of wiki clone ) - an article is frequently changing. and i need to track all changes that are done on that article. { text only. } one crude way i have done it, is to add a datetime property and create a new entity everytime something change. which is too much database wasting. { and also un-necessary index waste too. } and also need to re-create parent-child and entity relationships. i also have log which can show changes -- but i want some thing easier , so that jumping from one version to another version could be easier. ideas ? thanks.

  • API verbs for an interruptible operation

    - by 280Z28
I have a long running task as part of my application. The task can be started, paused, resumed, and cancelled. I'm trying to find the best interface for these operations. Two seem clear: Pause and Cancel. This leaves the start and resume operations. I could include both Start and Resume. This has the downside of either requiring the API consumer to check the state before starting/resuming the operation to call the right method, or making the methods aliases of each other. I'm thinking I should include either Start or Resume, but I don't know which one is the most appropriate. Does anyone have any examples in the .NET Framework of such behavior? I prefer to follow established patterns whenever they are available.

  • define global in a python module from C api

    - by wiso
    Sorry for the trivial question, but I can't find this infomation from the manual. I am developping a module for python using C api; how can I create a variabile that is seen as global from python? For example if my module is module I want to create a variable g that do this job: import module print module.g in particular g is an integer. Solution from Alex Martelli PyObject *m = Py_InitModule("mymodule", mymoduleMethods); PyObject *v = PyLong_FromLong((long) 23); PyObject_SetAttrString(m, "L", v); Py_DECREF(v);

  • embeding google images search in my website

    - by user1445497
I want to embed a search box to allow my website users to search images using google images search (not only images in my website, but general images search). However, I don't want an Iframe of something similar, but to present a custom list of the images and links in the format I chose. Ideally, I could get the links to the thumbnails to the in JSON. From what I have found so far, it seems that google no longer supports it's API: https://developers.google.com/image-search/ I am familiar with google custom search, but as far as I know, I can't control exactly how it will be presented. Are there other ways to do it? Thanks, Daniel

  • facebook api getting full posts with > 2 comments or > 4 likes

    - by ejang
when I make the user/feed request on the Facebook Open Graph API, I get a feed object where posts with 2 comments or 4 likes don't reveal the detailed information for those specific comments. I am using https://github.com/Thuzi/facebook-node-sdk to make requests but it is very similar to the 'request' NodeJS library. I can get the full posts individually by making a separate request for that post's Open Graph ID, but this doesn't lend itself to fun code because requests are asynchronous and nesting more asynchronous calls within asynchronous calls doesn't lend itself to fun code. Any way I can obtain the full posts?

  • Google checkout - Order processing notification handler

    - by Kunal
Hi I need to integrate google checkout on my website. I have successfully implemented the order placing and others stuff and using the sandbox I have tested that users can successfully add items to cart and and pay thereafter. I am using my own customized shopping cart written in php mysql. The last thing I need to do is pass the new order id to google checkout and receive notifications with the new order id as well as other data google sends. I know I have to setup a path to the handler script in my accounts. I did it in my sandbox account as well. But can't find a simple pice of code to get it done. Even if I use sample code from google, just cant figure out the format of the returned data in new order notification and also how to send custom data to the cart, which would come back with new order notifications? I am just lost on this. Please help!

  • Storing API keys in Android, is obfustication enough?

    - by fredley
I'm using the Dropbox API. In the sample app, it includes these lines: // Replace this with your consumer key and secret assigned by Dropbox. // Note that this is a really insecure way to do this, and you shouldn't // ship code which contains your key & secret in such an obvious way. // Obfuscation is good. final static private String CONSUMER_KEY = "PUT_YOUR_CONSUMER_KEY_HERE"; final static private String CONSUMER_SECRET = "PUT_YOUR_CONSUMER_SECRET_HERE"; I'm well aware of the mantra 'Secrecy is not Security', and obfuscation really only slightly increases the amount of effort required to extract the keys. I disagree with their statement 'Obfustication is good'. What should I do to protect the keys then? Is obfustication good enough, or should I consider something more elaborate?

  • google search rankings and trends api

    - by Drakkhen
I'm looking to find an api or program or interface to get the following information. I would like to see the amount of times a particular search term was used and its /weekly/monthly/yearly breakdown along with its rank in a particular page. I've found googlesearchpositionfinder.com and google.com/trends but i have 5000 terms to search for by hand is not happening. I've also found www.juiceanalytics.com/openjuice/programmatic-google-trends-api but it doesn't allow me to do a break down for a period of 2 years. Basically i'm trying to create a ranking of search phrases, the weeks(period) they were more popular and how a particular site(e.g urban dictionary) showed up in googles search rankings for the terms.

  • What is the best way to expose a callback API - C++

    - by rursw1
Hi, I have a C++ library that should expose some system\ resource calls as callbacks from the linked application. For example: the interfacing application (which uses this library) can send socket management callback functions - send, receive, open, close etc., and the library will use this implementation in stead of the library's implementation. (This way enables the application to manage the sockets by itself, can be useful). This library has to expose also more callbacks, like, for example, a password validation, so I wonder if there is a preferred method to expose the callback sending option in one API. Something like: int AddCallbackFunc (int functionCallbackType, <generic function prototype>, <generic way to pass some additional arguments>) Then within my library I will assign the callback to the appropriate function pointer according to the functionCallbackType parameter. Is there any way to implement it in a generic way which will fit ANY function prototype and ANY additional arguments? Your help will be more than appreciated... Thanks!

  • Max. # of printers allowed for google cloud print

    - by user1858673
I intend to write an online shopping program using PHP. When the buyer completes an order I want to print the receipt to his/her printer using Google Cloud Print. For that I will need the buyer to shared his/her printer with my Google account. My questions are: 1. Is there an upper bound for the number of printers a Google account is allowed to print to? 2. Is there a daily upper bound for the number of print jobs a Google account is allow? Thanks for reading and thanks for the answers in advance.
