• Lookup Field as a Site Column via CAML

  I'm trying to create a Lookup Field as a Site Column via CAML. The list I want to use as the source of the lookup is created in the Feature Receiver so I don't know it's ID. I've read several blog posts that indicate that I can just put the path to the list in the List attribute. It seems from the comments on these post that this solution works for some people but not for others. I'm in the latter group. • Getting users latest tweet with Django

  I want to create a function which grabs every users latest tweet from a specific group. So, if a user is in the 'authors' group, I want to grab their latest tweet and then finally cache the result for the day so we only do the crazy leg work once. def latest_tweets(self): g = Group.objects.get(name='author') users = [] for u in g.user_set.all(): acc = u.get_profile().twitter_account users.append('http://twitter.com/statuses/user_timeline/'+acc+'.rss') return users Is where I am at so far, but I'm at a complete loose end as to how I parse the RSS to get there latest tweet. Can anyone help me out here? If there is a better way to do this, any suggestions are welcome!   I'm trying to set up a query that shows the first post of each thread and is ordered by the date of the last post in each thread. I got the first part down with this query: SELECT * FROM ( SELECT Min( ID ) AS MinID FROM test_posts GROUP BY Thread )tmin JOIN test_posts ON test_posts.ID = tmin.MinID Now I need to figure out how to call the last post of each thread into a table, than use that table to order the first tables results. So far I got this, but it doesn't work.   I am working through Learn C The Hard Way and am stumped on something. I've written a simplified version of the problem I am running into to make it easier to get down to it.   I have three models: Service has_many :prices has_many :groups, through: prices Price belongs_to :service belongs_to :group Group has_many :prices I want to have an input field (Simple_Form) for every price. In views/services/_form.html.haml I do: simple_form_for @service do |f| simple_fields_for :groups do |g| simple_fields_for :prices do |p| p.input :price With this setup I only get input fields for already saved prices. How I can get a price field for every group? I tried to do it manually, but it got really nasty and didn't work either. Thanks for any ideas!

  HI there I am hoping for some help with a query I have. I have this query var group = from r in CustomerItem group r by r.StoreItemID into g select new { StoreItemID = g.Key, ItemCount = g.Count(), ItemAmount = Customer.Sum(cr => cr.ItemAmount),RedeemedAmount = Customer.Sum(x => x.RedeemedAmount) }; I am returning my results to a list so I can bind it listbox. I have a property called EntryType which is an int. There are 2 available numbers 1 or 2 Lets say I had 3 items that my query is working with 2 of them had the EntryType = 1 and the 3rd had EntryType2. The first records had a ItemAmount of 55.00 and the 3rd had a ItemAmount of 50.00 How can I group using something simlar to above but minus the ItemAmount of 50.00 from the grouped amount to return 60.00? Any help would be great!!

• Firefox extension dev: observing preferencies, avoid multiple notifications

  Let's say my Firefox extension has multiple preferences, but some of them are grouped, like check interval, fail retry interval, destination url. Those are used in just single function. When I subscribe to preference service and add observer, the observe callback will be called for each changed preference, so if by chance user changed all of the settings in group, then I will have to do the same routine for the same subsystem as many times as I have items in that preferences group. What I want is observe to be called just once for group of preferences. Say extensions.myextension.interval1 extensions.myextension.site extensions.myextension.retry so if one or all of those preferences are changed, I receive only 1 notification about it.

  I've posted a code sample below. Firstly let me explain termStore.Groups in the code below is a collection of Group Objects (The exact class is irrelevant). Checking for null : if (termStore.Groups[groupName] == null) seems like a logical (clean) approach, but if the Groups collection is empty then an exception is produced. using the termStore.Groups.Contains is not an option either because this expects a strong type i.e: .Contains(Group)... not .Contains(GroupName as string) Can someone recommend a clean / generic way I can check for if an item exists in collection .   Hi, If I have a regex with a capturing group, e.g. foo(g.*f). If I match this against a string and want to replace the first capturing group in all matches with baz so that foog___f blah foog________f is converted to: foobaz blah foobaz There doesn't appear to be any easy way to do this using the standard libraries, because the Matcher.replaceAll() method will only replace all matches of the entire pattern, am I missing something? Obviously I can just iterate through the matches, store the start and end index of each capturing group, then go back and replace them, but is there an easier way? Thanks, Don

  I originally started by selecting customers from a group of customers and then for each customer querying the records for the past few days and presenting them in a table row.   I am searching one student from each class from one group. There are different class groups and every group has different classes and every class has multiple students. I need one student from each class but only that student who has MAXIMUM table1.marks So I should have one student from each class who has maximum number in their relevant classes.   I’m faced with a challenge of leading two (currently) separate .NET development groups with different development strategies. One group is developing on the .NET Framework 2.0 (with maybe a few applications on 3.5). The other group immediately adopts any new framework that comes out, and begins coding any new applications with it (they are running 2.0-4.0 applications). For this last group, applications written in an earlier version than the latest framework do not get upgraded. What is the current school of thought when it comes to a company developing web applications on when to adopt a new framework, and whether to migrate applications built on previous versions to the latest framework or not? Years ago the thought was to wait until the technology became mainstream - but that doesn't seem to apply much now with .NET.

  I have two related tables: Groups and Clients. Clients belongs to Groups so I have a foreign key "group_id" that references the group a client belongs to. I'm changing the Group id from an autoincrement to a UUID. So what I need is to generate a UUID for each Group and update the Clients table at once to reflect the changes and keep the records related. Is there a way to do this with multiple-table update on MySQL? Adding tables definitions for clarification.
