    As my average project grows in size the sum of build times throughout the day (and night) adds up to a substantial amount of time. Some of the things I or others do in this time include: Reading the news Thinking of ways to advance the project Looking at other projects Throwing darts Checking the unanswered list on stackoverflow.com Build times aren't constant making it hard to plan constructive use of them. I would like to hear of a method in use to make beneficial use of those few minutes that can add up to a few hours.

    Hi I've had Jetty recommended as a good container for fast and simple development, in my case, Java Server Faces. I wish to use it with my Eclipse IDE (Version: 3.4.1), but quite frankly, can't figure out how. I've tried various outdated plugins, only with large amounts of errors in return, so I'm hoping someone could guide me from downloading the right version to installing it, and being able to press "RUN", and see a simple Hello World in JSP/JSF work.     I'm doing: select * from mytable y where y.year = (select max(yi.year) from mytable yi where yi.person = y.person) Is that better or worse from a performance aspect than: select y.* from mytable y left outer join mytable y2 on y.year < y2.year and y.person = y2.person where y2.year is null The explain plan/anecdotal evidence is inconclusive so I am wondering if in general one is better than the other.

    I am coding a simple space empire management game in Visual C# 2008, which relies on connecting to a remote SQL server database to get/store data. I would like the user to be able to connect to a user-specified SQL server from the login screen(he specifies IP address, port, database name, ID, password and presses "connect" button). However, I found out that the Dataset connection string property is read only and cannot be changed. Is there any way to guide the wizard-generated DataSet to a user-specified server at run time?

    I'm reading the getting started guide of sproutcore, about the Todo app. Around the beginning they tell to instantiate a controller from the SC.arrayProxy class. But this class is not present in the docs!!! and even in google is nowhere to be found! where does it come out from?? EDIT: I discovered that SC.arrayProxy is only in sproutcore 2! I wonder what are the differences from SC.arrayController

However, when I try to build the sample application (labrepl) I get a bunch of errors and a failed build. I haven't used Java in a long time and I've never used Netbeans, and the error doesn't seem very helpful with my limited knowledge of this domain.     I am a couchDB newbie and am doing the examples in the O'Reilly CouchDB guide. I have a problem using a view to retrieve a document by key: curl http://127.0.0.1:5984/basic/_design/example/_view/by_date?key="2009/01/15 15:52:20" gives the reply: curl: (52) Empty reply from server but just retrieving all rows: curl http://127.0.0.1:5984/basic/_design/example/_view/by_date gives me 3 rows including the specific row I am looking for: {"id":"hello-world","key":"2009/01/15 15:52:20","value":"Hello World"} why doesn't the key query work? I am using CouchDB version 0.10.0 on Ubuntu 9.10

    I'm looking to do Authorize.net payment integration with a website using PHP. My questions are: 1) Where I can find a tutorial, development guide, and/or code samples for doing this with PHP. 2) Is it possible to obtain a test account to do the integration like Paypal's sandbox, or does one need to have a live account to which you can pass an additional parameter to indicate the transaction is a test one?
