  • scrapping blog contents

    Hi lads, After obtaining the urls for various blogspots, tumblr and wordpress pages, I faced some problems processing the html pages. The thing is, i wish to distinguish between the content,title and date for each blog post. I might be able to get the date through regex, but there are so many custom scripts people are using now that the html classes and structure is so different. Does anyone has a solution that may help?

    Okay, I want to have an app that takes phone numbers from an online database and displays them in a table view. When the user is not online, I want them to still be able to see the numbers they already got from the database in the table view. If the user manages to go back online, the database updates the view. My question is, is this possible to do and if so, what's the best way to approach it? (bit of a newbie, please help me out)

  • Apache shows different sites on same vhost

    on a plesk 9.3.0 running Apache on CentOS I have 6 vhosts setup. All of them run wordpress, installed via installatron. Sometimes, when I request mynewsite.com (last site created) it instead shows firstsite.com (first site setup in this VPS). this only happens on mynewsite.com. It has never occurred on any of the other sites in this VPS. I am baffled. Any advice is appreciated. Thanks

I'm a complete newbie in the streaming world so I don't know exactly how to do that, and I definitely don't want to reinvent the wheel. Are there any free platforms that I can use for that?   • Doing a count over a filter query efficiently in django

    Hello, Django newbie here, I need to do a count over a certain filter in a django model. If I do it like so: my_model.objects.filter(...).count() I'm guessing it does the SQL query that retrieves all the rows and only afterwards does the count. To my knowledge it's much more efficient to do the count without retrieving those rows like so "SELECT COUNT(*) FROM ...". Is there a way to do so in django?

    One day, wordpress suddenly jumped from pots id 9110 to 890000000 post. Days later I'd like to move back new posts to continue from id 9111. I'm sure that id will never reach id 890000000, no problem here, but id is an autoincrement field and "ALTER TABLE wp8_posts AUTO_INCREMENT =9111" is not working. Can I force id to continue from 9111 ?

  • C Question: How to store data inside the executable file

    Hello all, complete newbie here, I need to find a way to store 250 KB of plain text numbers inside my program's executable file. Usually, I would put the data in a separate file and let the program read it while it is running, but that's not an option here. Instead, the program and the data need to be in one executable file. I have absolutely no idea how to do it (except writing 250.000 #defines :-) and I'd appreciate any suggestions. Thank you very much!

It seems like sort of an edge case that different backbones or ISPs might intentionally break to reduce router load or generally segment the network for practical high-use applications. I'm trying to get my URLs to look like this: /Corporate/Users/Edit/1 /Corporate/Stores/Edit/17 /Corporate/Contacts/Edit/17 /Store/Contacts/Create /Store/Products/Edit/29 Pretty much like plain-vanilla urls, except with a user type at the front. I'm running into a lot of problems with duplicate controller names, etc. Is there a simple way to do this? I looked briefly at Areas, but this seemed way to complicated.
