• How do you get AOL's OpenID site verification to work?

  I have an OpenID relying party setup and using XRDS. It passes the "RP has discoverable return_to" interop test over at http://test-id.org/RP/DiscoverableReturnTo.aspx. Yahoo no longer complains with the message "Warning: This website has not confirmed its identity with Yahoo! and might be fraudulent." as outlined in Andrew Arnott's excellent blog post: http://blog.nerdbank.net/2008/06/why-yahoo-says-your-openid-site.html However, when I try to authenticate using AOL I see the "Warning! site verification could not be completed." message.

• Android TelephonyManager.getNetworkType() returned constant values in bearer speed order?

  TelephonyManager.getNetworkType() returns one of the constant values. It appears that the constant values have an integer order, by possible bearer link speed. I know using constant values used in the following manner is generally bad, however could one use this to determine a basic cutoff for application functionality and have it work between API levels? • ffdshow codec can not work with media play 12 in windows 7 ?

  The reason of this issue is caused by media player 12 (in windows 7 professional) using mircsoft default codec which don't support mp4 decode. The ffdshow codec can not replace microsoft default codec in windows 7 (windows7 does not allow that in default). I find some third party tools can switch media player default codec to ffdshow but this is really inconvenience for our customer. Is there any way I can make a program to switch microsoft default codec to ffdshow codec? Like change some entries in windows registry?

• Best approch for creating Base control

  Hi, I am looking for a solution for this scenario - I need to implement a feature to allow user to add various controls to canvas(WPF, custom and third party ) and then select any one of them and modify some properties in property grid(changes needs to be reflected in UI). I don't want to expose all the properties of any control only some of them(relevant to end user); apart from this there are some properties which will be common for all controls e.g. Title, Value(Value will be bound to some property of a control, say Text of TextBox and Content of Label) etc. I am thinking of putting all the common proeprties at one place. Things I am confused aout - How to create such base class, whether to use UserControl or Custom Control for this? How will the binding work between Control, base class proeprties and PropertyGrid? What type of object will I expose to property grid? Any idea on what approch should be followed in this case, any kind of input will really be helpful.

• Providing or Filtering assemblies when registering areas for an ASP.NET MVC 2.0 application

  I have a large application that currently exists as a hybrid of WebForms and MVC 2.0. Startup of my application is dreadful, and the culprit is primarily because of the AreaRegistration.RegisterAllAreas call. More specifically, that it is using the System.Web. Compilation.BuildManager.GetReferencedAssemblies to enumerate all types in assemblies directly referenced by the application and test them to see if they derive from AreaRegistration. Unfortunately, I have a number of third-party assemblies that happen to be quite extensive, so this initial load can be pretty bad. I'd have much better results if I could tell it which assemblies to look for AreaRegistrations, or even register areas manually for the time being. I can gather up all the internals of AreaRegistration to create and invoke the registration, but I'm just curious if others have had and worked around this issue.

Here the .Net Library is refering some third party components which are actually build in (X86 or X64) No Any CPU. So My Cab file should be intelligent enogh to install eigther X86 or X64 depending on the client ( Browser) I Know the change should be in the INF file. • Tomcat JAXB 1 and 2 linkage error

  I'm running a tomcat 6, spring, apache cxf webservice, know it is a must to add one third party library to my webapp to fulfill an order. I have jaxb-impl-2.1.12.jar for apache cxf in WEB-INF/lib folder and the new library which contains the JAXB 1.0 runtime. JAXB 2 ist used by apache cxf for dynamic clients (i need them). So is there a possibility to run the webapps with both libraries? Error: Caused by: java.lang.LinkageError: You are trying to run JAXB 2.0 runtime but you have old JAXB 1.0 runtime earlier in the classpath. Please remove the JAXB 1.0 runtime for 2.0 runtime to work correctly.

• Combine multiple JSON files into one; retrieve using jQuery/getJSON()

  I have some jQuery code which retrieves content using getJSON(). There are n JSON files, which are retrieved from the server as needed: /json-content/data0.json /json-content/data1.json /json-content/data2.json etc... Instead, I want to store all the JSON in a single file to reduce the number of HTTP requests needed to retrieve the data. What is the best way to do this? If I concatenate the JSON files together, it no longer works with getJSON(). I would prefer not to transform the JSON data ahead of time, as it is coming from a third party data source. Any suggestions?

It's a whole new world of SQLite where you compose your queries and parse your results with JavaScript. But while you may not have your whole site's database go down, the user who gets his/her database corrupted or wiped due to a malicious injection attack is going to be rather upset.   Hey guys, I am new to rails and have a question regarding the plugins. It seems there are two approaches you can take when using a third party plugin in a ROR App: 1) install a gem using sudo gem install GEM, and then "require" it in your rails project 2) install the plugin using script/generate plugin install PLUGIN. The plugin in code appears in your vendor directory and then you are good to go (sometimes, i could not get Devise working via this method). Since it appears both of these methods accomplish them same thing, why should I choose one method over the other. Thanks,

  I know of two ways of creating custom JSF components: 1. Native JSF way: creating JSF component class, tag, etc. 2. Facelets way: defining component in a xhtml file and then creating appropriate decrption in facelets taglib. Currently I work on a project in which introducing facelets is unfortunately out of the question. On the other hand, creating custom components the standard JSF way seems like a pain in the ass. Is there maybe a third party library that allows creating custom components in the way similar to facelets but doesn't entail the need of using non-standard renderer?

As per my current understanding I will have to extend the Canvas to create my own editor and and Interface for controls which it supports; Each supported control will have to implemnt this interface so that it can be placed in our editor. • ASP.Net 2.0 Web application cannot find specified module.

  Recently my ASP.NET application quit working. It is local to my machine. It quit working after installing and uninstalling some third party developer tools. (I believe) I emptied out my directory and started adding modules until I narrowed it down to a managed C++ dll. When I load the dll into Dependency Walker it says that "c:\windows\winsxs\x86_microsoft.vc80.debugcrt_1fc8b3b9a1e18e3b_8.0.50727.762_x-ww_5490cd9f\MSVCM80D.DLL" loads fine, but "MSVCR80D.DLL" could not be found. However this dll exists in the same directory. The managed dll contains an embedded manifest and I am using Visual Studio 2005 service pack 1.

I sifted through OperationContext.Current but couldn't find anything obvious.   Hi all I'm trying to use/understand Google request token mechanism. I intend to use it for an application I've start to develop to access Orkut data using OpenSocial API. I read this document that explains the steps to obtain a token for an installed application. This document tells you to use the OAuthGetRequestToken method from Google OAuth API to acquire a request token . Accessing the manual of this function (available here). But the parameter oauth_consumer_key, which is required, asks for the "Domain identifying the third-party web application", but I don,t have a domain, it is an installed application. So my question is, what should I put in this parameter in that case? I'm using oauth_playground to run my tests. Thx

• Create Django formset wihtout multiple queries

  I need to display multiple forms (up to 10) of a model on a page. This is the code I use for to accomplish this. TheFormSet = formset_factory(SomeForm, extra=10) ... formset = TheFormSet(prefix='party') return render_to_response('template.html', { 'formset' : formset, }) The problem is, that it seems to me that Django queries the database for each of the forms in the formset, even though the data displayed in them is the same. Is this the way Formsets work or am I doing something wrong? Is there a way around it inside django or would I have to use JavaScript for a workaround?

• Why can't I log in with "claimid.com" as an OpenID?

  Hi, I need to implement a relying party for Open ID in a load balanced environment. Following the suggestions found here I have tried passing null to the OpenIdRelyingParty constructor. The results are somehow not consistent. If I use www.myopenid.com as a provider it works. If I use www.claimid.com as a provider I get the following exception: ProtocolException - No OpenID endpoint found. This exception is thrown on the CreateRequest method call even in a non balanced environment (my local workstation). Any idea what can I do to make it work for both providers ?

• How to do iPad Photos app pinch to expand

  I don't think this has been asked before on this site, but I might be wrong. Does anyone know the basics of how to get that whole effect with the iPad Photos app? Basically, pinching a stack of photos lets you have a "peek" at the photos in that stack, which expands based on the distance between your 2 fingers in the pinch, then fully completing the outwards pinch gesture opens the photos in the stack in a new view. See this video to get what I mean. I know of at least one third party app that uses the same method as the iPad Photo app, so I know it's possible to do. I'm guessing I would do something with UIPinchGestureRecognizer but I'm not sure exactly how to proceed.
