  • PHP Curl's Proxy feature causes no information to be returned

    I'm working on a PHP script right now which sends requests to our school's servers to get real-time information about class sizes for different courses. The script runs perfectly fine when I don't use a proxy, returning a string full of course numbers and available seats. However, I want to make this a service for the students, and I'm afraid that if I make too many requests my ip will get blocked. So I'm attempting to do this through a proxy, with no success. As soon as I add the CURLOPT_HTTPPROXYTUNNEL and CURLOPT_PROXY fields to my requests nothing gets returned. I'm not even sure how to troubleshoot it at this point since I'm not getting an error message of any kind. Does anyone know what's going on or how to at least troubleshoot it?

  • What's the expectation for silverlight 2's lifespan?

    Way back when I built an internal site for a customer using silverlight 2. They've been happy with it and I've barely had to touch it. Is the expectation that this site will always work? What I'm afraid of is suddenly getting a call years from now that the users installed silverlight X and now it's broken and I'm going to have to convert it immediately past Y versions of Silverlight to get the site back up, and I don't even do Silverlight anymore. I already went through this once when it went from 2 beta to 2 release and and scrambling to fix all the breaking changes and get the site back up. It wasn't as big a deal then as we were in beta anyway. I could upgrade now but it would be really tough to go back to the customer and ask for money to do an upgrade when they are happy now and will see no noticeable benefit from staying current. Additionally there are some third party controls that would have to be licensed again. So I guess what I'm asking is there a known end of life? Or do we just play it by ear?

  • Using regexkitlite with strings containing % signs

    So I'm using RegexKitLite in my iPhone app, and I'm basically grabbing out a bunch of URLs and names from within a web page. The problem is that whenever it comes across a URL with URL encoded characters like %22 for a double quote or %27 for a single quote, the captured string basically gives me a jumbled overflowed string, containing garbage and even method names. I'm really not doing anything particularly special within the regex, just your basic "startdelimiter(.*)enddelimiter" regex.

    Hi, I'd like to set a property of an object through reflection, with a value of type string. So, for instance, suppose I have a Ship class, with a property of Latitude, which is a double. Here's what I'd like to do: Ship ship = new Ship(); string value = "5.5"; PropertyInfo propertyInfo = ship.GetType().GetProperty("Latitude"); propertyInfo.SetValue(ship, value, null); As is, this throws an Argument exception (Object of type 'System.String' cannot be converted to type 'System.Double'). How can I convert value to the proper type, based on propertyInfo?

  • How to use RadSpell within a Telerik MVC Grid editor popup?

    Is it possible to use RadSpell within a Telerik MVC Grid editor popup? I have followed some of the examples online to use RadSpell with ASP.NET MVC (http://www.telerik.com/help/aspnet-ajax/mvc-using-spellchecker.html and http://www.telerik.com/help/aspnet-ajax/spell-client-side-api.html) and I am able to attach multiple text controls to check but the display gets messed up when using Telerik MVC Grid editor popups since it's already in a modal. Sometimes it will randomly pick another div on the page and treats it like it's the main window (it will gray out just a portion of the page and I'll see the RadSpell popup peeking through but it's unusable). It seems like it chooses different places in the DOM to inject the iframe/radwindow for RadSpell as well. Any ideas? I didn't include any code because my implementation is a mess and I'd prefer to start with something simpler, from scratch.

Thanks Further Info I used the code exactly from your answer lugte098 just to check and I was getting dates which leads me to believe that my TimeSlot class can't have a date correctly set in it's NSDate property. So my question becomes - how from XML do I set a NSDate property?   • Lucene numDocs and doqFreq on custom similarity class

    Hi All, im doing an aplication with Lucene (im a noob with it) and im facing some problems. My aplication uses the Lucene 2.4.0 library with a custom similaraty implementation (the jar is imported) In my app im calculating doqFreq and numDocs manually (im adding the values of all indexes and then i calculate a global value in order to use it on every query) and i want to use that values on a custom similarity implementation in order to calculate a new IDF. The problem is that I dont know how to use (or send) the new doqFreq and numDocs values from my app on that new similarty implementation as I dont want to change lucene´s code apart from this extra class. Any suggestions or examples? I read the docs but i dont now how to aproach this :s Thanks

  • Windows Azure DownloadtoStream EOF error

    Hello, I've been using Windows Azure to create a document management system, and things have gone well so far. I've been able to upload and download files to the BLOB storage through an asp.net front end. What I'm attempting to do now is allow users to upload a .zip file, and then take the files out of that .zip and save them as individual files. Problem is, I'm getting "ZipException was unhandled" "EOF in header" and I don't know why. I'm using the ICSharpCode.SharpZipLib library which I've used for many other tasks and its worked great. Here's the basic code: CloudBlob ZipFile = container.GetBlobReference(blobURI); MemoryStream MemStream = new MemoryStream(); ZipFile.DownloadToStream(MemStream); .... while ((theEntry = zipInput.GetNextEntry()) != null) and it's on the line that starts with while that I get the error. I added a sleep duration of 10 seconds just to make sure enough time had gone by. MemStream has a length if I debug it, but the zipInput does sometimes, but not always. It always fails.     I'll add 500 of my own rep as a bounty when SO lets me. I'm using wkhtmltopdf to convert HTML web pages to PDFs. This works perfectly on my 32-bit dev server [unfortunately, I can't ship my machine :-p ]. All form-fields, images, borders, tables, divs, spans, ps, etc are rendered accurately...just void of any text at all. Server information: Windows edition: Windows Server Standard Service Pack 2 Processor: Intel Xeon E5410 @ 2.33GHz 2.33 GHz Memory: 8.00 GB System type: 64-bit Operating System Can anyone give me a clue as to what is happening and how I can fix this?     Background: I couldn't find any decent free HTML to PDF conversion utilities in C#. There are 100s of them for PHP with extensive documentation, support, and CSS support. So I am using html2ps and html2pdf (php). I have PHP 5.2 installed on IIS7 and its working beautifully to create PDFs. I have the following in getPDF.aspx <!-- Output the header --> <DM:header runat="server" ID="header" /> <asp:Placeholder id="content" runat="server" /> <!-- Output the footer --> <DM:footer runat="server" ID="footer" /> and in getPDF.aspx.cs: protected void Page_Load(object sender, EventArgs e){ // AddContentControl simples adds a controls to the content Placeholder. AddContentControl("controls/page1.ascx"); AddContentControl("controls/page2.ascx"); AddContentControl("controls/page3.ascx"); } and in generatePDF.php: <?php /* ... includes and stuff here ... */ $data = "THE HTML GOES HERE!"; // creates the PDF from the $data and Outputs the created file. convert_to_pdf($data); ?> -- getPDF.aspx works perfectly...except the output is HTML. So how can I get getPDF.aspx to output its HTML as PDF generated by generatePDF.php?

  • Kink detection in drawn polylines

    Users can sketch in my app using a very simple tool (move mouse while holding LMB). This results in a series of mousemove events and I record the cursor location at each event. The resulting polyline curve tends to be rather dense, with recorded points almost every other pixel. I'd like to smooth this pixelated polyline, but I don't want to smooth intended kinks. So how do I figure out where the kinks are? The image shows the recorded trail (red pixels) and the 'implied' shape as a human would understand it. People tend to slow down near corners, so there is usually even more noise here than on the straight bits.

If I remove the interception configuration from the Unity container, and simply do this: IUnityContainer container = new UnityContainer(); container.RegisterType(typeof(IRepository<Person>), typeof(Example.Data.InMemory.Repository<Person>)); It works as expected, and the MessageHandler has an instance if IRepository resolved.

Also the ListView.Items doesn't help, because that (of course) contains my bound business objects and no ListViewItems. Neither does myList.ItemContainerGenerator.ContainerFromItem(item), which also returns null.

    I'm trying to write a SQL Server database update script. I want to test for the existence of a column in a table, then if it doesn't exist add the column with a default value, and finally update that column based on the current value of a different column in the same table. I want this script to be runnable multiple times, the first time updating the table and on subsequent runs the script should be ignored. My script currently looks like the following: IF NOT EXISTS(SELECT * FROM INFORMATION_SCHEMA.COLUMNS WHERE TABLE_NAME = 'PurchaseOrder' AND COLUMN_NAME = 'IsDownloadable') BEGIN ALTER TABLE [dbo].[PurchaseOrder] ADD [IsDownloadable] bit NOT NULL DEFAULT 0 UPDATE [dbo].[PurchaseOrder] SET [IsDownloadable] = 1 WHERE [Ref] IS NOT NULL END SQL Server returns error "Invalid column name 'IsDownloadable'", i.e. I need to commit the DDL before I can update the column. I've tried various permutations but I'm getting nowhere fast.

  • Caveats of select/poll vs. epoll reactors in Twisted

    Everything I've read and experienced ( Tornado based apps ) leads me to believe that ePoll is a natural replacement for Select and Poll based networking, especially with Twisted. Which makes me paranoid, its pretty rare for a better technique or methodology not to come with a price. Reading a couple dozen comparisons between epoll and alternatives shows that epoll is clearly the champion for speed and scalability, specifically that it scales in a linear fashion which is fantastic. That said, what about processor and memory utilization, is epoll still the champ?

    I would like to get a list of Active Directory users along with the security groups they are members of using SQL Server 2005 linked servers. I have the query working to retrieve records but I'm not sure how to access the memberOf attribute (it is a multi-value LDAP attribute). I have this temporary to store the information: DROP TABLE #ADUSERGROUPS CREATE TABLE #ADUSERGROUPS ( sAMAccountName varchar(30), UserGroup varchar(50) ) Each group/user association should be one row. This is my SELECT statement: SELECT sAMAccountName,memberOf FROM OpenQuery(ADSI, '<LDAP://hqdc04/DC=nt,DC=avs>; (&(objectClass=User)(sAMAccountName=9695)(sn=*)(mail=*)(userAccountControl=512)); sAMAccountName,memberOf;subtree') I get this error msg: OLE DB error trace [OLE/DB Provider 'ADSDSOObject' IRowset::GetData returned 0x40eda: Data status returned from the provider: [COLUMN_NAME=memberOf STATUS=DBSTATUS_E_CANTCONVERTVALUE], [COLUMN_NAME=sAMAccountName STATUS=DBSTATUS_S_OK]]. Msg 7346, Level 16, State 2, Line 2 Could not get the data of the row from the OLE DB provider 'ADSDSOObject'. Could not convert the data value due to reasons other than sign mismatch or overflow.
