  Network is not working anymore - Ubuntu 12.04 Hello, I have a problem with my network connection. I have been using the same laptop with Ubuntu and the same connection for more than a year, and suddenly yesterday the connection stopped working (both wireless and wired). I've tested with another computer and the connection is fine (both wireless and wired). I've been reading similar posts but I haven't found a solution yet.   Hello, I am following these steps in order to build Awesome window manager on 10.04 I am building 3.4 while the tutorial is for 3.1 I installed all of the specified dependencies including cairo. • Cannot update, apt-get cannot fetch index files

  I have a fresh install of Ubuntu 11.10 from the iso 'ubuntu-11.10-desktop-amd64.iso'. I installed this in VMWare Fusion 4.1.1 running on OSX 10.7.3. When setting up the VM, I allowed easy install to take care of creating my user and installing VMWare tools. No problems during installation, everything seems to be working great. The problem is that apt-get will NOT update, so I can't do software updates or install any software with apt-get install. I have been searching high and low, and have found several threads covering similar issues. How to fix a ruined package catalog? is one, Update manager generates 404 error while attempting update. Will not update is another, Ubuntu 11.10 Update issue (failed to fetch...) is a third I have tried changing my software source download location to "Main Server" rather than "Server for United States", to no avail. Same errors. Tried sudo apt-get clean, sudo apt-get autoclean, Have done a sudo rm /var/lib/apt/lists/*, still having the exact same problem. As I said, this is a brand new installation as of yesterday evening. • Setting int more than once causes crash

  I'm doing a CABasicAnimation and getting the value from a nested NSMutableArray. Everything is great the first time it runs but crashes when called again either with custom functions or viewDidLoad. • How to know whether to create a general system or to hack a solution

  I'm new to coding , learning it since last year actually. One of my worst habits is the following: Often I'm trying to create a solution that is too big , too complex and doesn't achieve what needs to be achieved, when a hacky kludge can make the fit. One last example was the following (see paste bin link below) http://pastebin.com/WzR3zsLn After explaining my issue, one nice person at stackoverflow came with this solution instead http://stackoverflow.com/questions/25304170/update-a-field-by-removing-quarter-or-removing-month When should I keep my code simple and when should I create a 'big', general solution?   Hello, i get the following error when trying to compile my asp.net site after updating the project from vs2008 to vs2010 The type or namespace name 'Syndication' does not exist in the namespace 'System.ServiceModel' (are you missing an assembly reference?) I have the asp.net site targeting 3.5 framework (as it did in vs2008) I also added a reference to System.ServiceModel.Web I also have these using statements at the top of my class: using System.ServiceModel; using System.ServiceModel.Description; using System.ServiceModel.Syndication; using System.ServiceModel.Web; The last 2 complain with the error above, commenting them out produces errors (cannot find WebGet, etc.) like it flipflops. Anyone have any ideas?

  I started using the firefox nightlies a while ago. I would get updates for both versions 4 (Minefield) and 3.7 (Namoroka). Now I want to keep version 4 nightly, but replace the 3.7 nightly with 3.6 stable. I've already removed the 3.7 nightly, but can't figure how to install 3.6 stable (systemwide). Trying to install it using apt-get starts downloading the nightly again. Where do I need to make the necessary changes?

• game inventory/bag system javascript html5 game

  im building an RPG game using html5's canvas and javascript. Its tile based and im using an array to created my game map. I would like the player to have a bag/inventory so when they select or land on a tile that has an item on it, they can click on it and store it in their bag/inventory. I was thinking of using a 2d array to store the value of the item tile, a bit like my map is doing, so when the player lands on, lets say a rope tile which is tileID 4, the value 4 is pushed into the next array position available, then reloop through the array and reprint it to the screen. For an example of what im trying to achieve visually, would be like runescapes inventory, but dumbed down a bit. I appreciate any views and answers. I am getting lost in the authentication options: In IIS 6 Manager, I can go in to the properties of the web site and set authentication options. In the web site's web.config file, under system.web, there is an <authentication mode="Windows"/> tag In the web site's web.config file, under system.serviceModel, I can configure: <wsHttpBinding <binding name="MyBinding" <security mode="Transport" <transport clientCredentialType="Basic"/ </security </binding </wsHttpBinding What is the difference between these three? How should each be configured? Some context: I have a simple web site project that contains a single .svc web service, and I want it to use Basic authentication over SSL. (Also, I want it to not use Windows accounts, but maybe that is another question.)

  Something strange is happening... I've installed a Wi-Fi card into my Ubuntu Server 11.04 machine. To configure it I do the following: sudo vi /etc/network/interfaces add: iface wlan0 inet dhcp wpa-driver wext wpa-ssid "Sweet Home" wpa-ap-scan 1 wpa-proto WPA wpa-pairwise TKIP wpa-group TKIP wpa-key-mgmt WPA-PSK wpa-psk <A KEY> auto wlan0 then: $ sudo /etc/init.d/networking restart * Running /etc/init.d/networking restart is deprecated because it may not enable again some interfaces * Reconfiguring network interfaces... ssh stop/waiting ssh start/running, process 1522 ssh stop/waiting ssh start/running, process 1590 And my machine successfully gets an ip to my wireless adapter. But after reboot it doesn't get any ip in wireless network. To fix it I run /etc/init.d/networking restart again and all is fine again - it gets an ip. I understand that I simply should add it to my startup scripts to make it work properly, but maybe there is a better way to configure it?

  After converting a Hybrid ASP.NET MVC1 app to MVC2 I'm getting the following error when I try and run the application: The type or namespace name 'Mvc' does not exist in the namespace 'System.Web' (are you missing an assembly reference?) The allegeded culprit in the web.config file is System.Web.Mvc: <namespaces> <add namespace="System.Web.Mvc"/> <add namespace="System.Web.Mvc.Ajax"/> <add namespace="System.Web.Mvc.Html"/> So far my investigation seems to lead me to believe that version 2 of System.Web.Mvc is not installed or has not been picked up. I've tried creating a File New Project based on MVC 2 and that's picking up the new (v2) version of MVC. I've also converted some other projects (that were not hybrids) and they've converted without problem to MVC2. I've also uninstalled MVC1 to try and remove references to it from the GAC. However, none of this has worked. Any ideas?
