• Convert Currencies Dynamically using PHP, Google and cURL [closed]

  I want to be able to allow users to dynamically change the currency of the products prices in my webstore, right there on the page. For example, 300 USD will change to 221.61 EUR when the user selects Euros from a dropdown. • mod_rewrite for clean URL doesn't work

  Basically what I want to do is to convert this: http://localhost/jariungu/user_caleg.php?idCaleg2014=3 into this: http://localhost/jariungu/caleg/3 I have managed to make /jariungu/caleg/3 to direct to the original URL (as in, if I open that URL, it directs me to the appropriate page). The problem is, once opened, the URL returns to the original, ugly one in the address bar. This is what I tried. • atheros wireless ar9285 driver

  I have been having problems with wireless on Ubuntu 10 and above, Mint 11 and above. The problem is in the driver for the wireless... I can see that there is no driver installed and yet it works but reduced a lot, for example: on windows 7 ultimate 100% on distance of 1 meter (currently running) Mint Cinnamon 15 on same distance 70% when it goes under the 40 % it simply disconnects and than takes a lot of time to connect again I am new to Linux and I don't know anything about programming, yet I love the interface and look of the OS but don't want to reject it for couple of problems. There is, however, a problem with brightness control on laptop, it shows the notification and slider but with no effect The question is: Can somebody explain to me where to download and how to install the ar9285 driver for atheros wireless card laptop acer emachines eme529? or can someone explain this to me only for the LINUX MINT 15 http://www.jrhenkelmann.net/index.php?option=com_content&task=view&id=34 because the synaptic's interface is different than of mint 15 I KNOW this is Ubuntu community but the problems persist in all Linux versions

  I have a Acer Aspire Revo nettop and it seems like it's a common error that Ubuntu doesn't have a driver for the ethernet.   We are planning to develop a JavaScript API to expose some of our J2EE based services. We are doing this keeping Google Maps API in mind. Can someone please suggested where we should start and the approaches that we need to follow to create a useful and extensible JavaScript API? These are the things that we are considering to achieve. It should be very simple for others to use our API. We feel Google Maps API is like that. We should be able to release the updates of the APIs without affecting the existing implementations. We should have enough security measures so that not all can use these services. Please suggest us if there are any books that can guide us through. Any suggestion will be greatly helpful for us. • root and home are on seperate partitions, but home still uses up space on root?

  When installing Ubuntu 12.10 for the first time, I made sure /home had it's own partition, gave it about 185GB, and gave root ~10GB. Now root is almost full after a few days and I've noticed that root is as big as /home and some additional MB from some actual root files. Note that I deleted some unused files in /home to make sure it really affects how much space is used in root, and it clearly does. • Best options for freelance or part-time programming? [closed]

  I apologize in advance if this is an inappropriate question for this SE. A few years back I was all set to study computer science and get a job programming, but went a totally different route and went into healthcare. I currently work as a paramedic on a rotating 24/48 schedule, so I have two days off for every day I work, and a decent bit of downtime on the days that I do work. I've been looking at ways to earn some extra money with all that spare time, and was wondering if it'd be worth the effort to try and find a part-time/freelance gig. I know HTML/CSS, PHP, and I'm pretty familiar with Python and Ruby (and Rails). Anyways, was hoping that someone could point me in the right direction as what "skill set" would give me the best chance to be able to land a part-time/freelance gig. I realize this is a rather open-ended question but any direction is appreciated.

• Cannot mount USB disks due to "not authorized" error

  I have Ubuntu 12.04 (.2?) installed. I don't plan to need GUI after setup so I modified the grub to start in console. However, whenever I want to start up GUI I need to type startx. Simple/basic stuff. However I seem to be hitting a snag: I am having trouble mounting/accessing USB flash drives in the GUI I started in the console. "Unable to mount location - not authorized". Seemed like it should be an easy fix, but can't figure out how I'm overlooking it. Can someone help me out?

• What's an acceptable "Avg. Page Load Time"?

  Is there any industry rule of thumb for what's considered an unacceptable load time v. an OK one v. a blistering fast one? We're just reviewing some Google Analytics data and getting 0.74 Avg. Page Load Time reported. I guess that's OK. However it would be good if some meatier comparison data were available, or a blog post, or somewhere where there's some analysis of what speeds are generally being achieved by various kinds of sites. Any useful links to help someone interpret these speeds? If you Google it you just get a lot of results dealing with how to improve your speed. We're not at that stage yet.

• On-line Based Conferencing For Admin Panel

  Working on my admin panels work station section which will allow the admin to use simple office tools such as word editors, calculators and whatnot. Under this section of the admin panel, I would like to add a conferencing feature which will allow any administrator to connect with another administrator 1-2-1 under the 1-2-1 Conferencing section, or to join a meeting under 'live meeting' section. Upon my search for on-line based, I found there are all these, what seem to be great applications out there, however not all of them are on-line based, and come with a price! I would like to a purely on-line based conferencing/meeting/1-2-1 feature which will allow administrators to communicate via text or sound, stream their video, share their screen and sending of files. I know this sounds like a big feature, and I am not asking for someone to answer by programming one for my website!   This is a problem I've been having, When making a set number of filled circles at random locations on a JPanel and applying a gravity (a negative change in the y), each of the circles collide. • Failed Update & Mouse Issues

  I`m using my gfs computer - but I do have Ubuntu 11.10 up and running well to some degree. Still need to work out some bugs but not quite sure how to do that. My mouse is only somewhat responsive - cursor moves, and able to click on things but still unable to do a double click function. Left mouse button still not working at all. Tried running updates but it keeps coming up synaptic error. Not sure what that means. I have read that some people have done reinstalls of Ubuntu and it corrected the problems - not sure if that could work. Comments would be appreciated. Installed Ubuntu 11.10 but thinking of trying to wipe the system to do a fresh install can someone tell me how I get back to the Ubuntu installation menu. Wondering if gnome may need to be reset but not sure.

  I was searching something for bandwidth shaping. I found trickled and wondershaper which works on the total bandwidth. I would like to know if there exists a selective bandwidth shaping. I mean, I run 2 application which uses internet. I would like to limit the bandwidth of one of these 2 in real time (just like a sound equalizer). For example, I'm downloading something. Meanwhile, someone calls me on skype. So I want to slow the downloading to have more band in my video calling. Is this possible?

  I followed the below steps to install my rtl8192ce drivers on my Ubuntu 9.4 system. But I still got errors and nothing installed and I can't connect to the modem to get onto the Internet.   I've pages with titles like 'Alpha with Beta'. For every such page, there is an inverse page 'Beta with Alpha'. Both pages link to each other. When someone on Google searches for 'Beta with Alpha', I'd like them to land on the correct page, but sometimes 'Alpha with Beta' ranks higher (or vice versa). I was thinking of inspecting the referral link when a visitor arrives on my site, and silently redirecting them to the correct page based on what they actually searched for. Just wondering if this could be penalized by Google as 'cloaking/sneaky redirects'? Or is there a better way to ensure that the correct page on my site ranks higher for the matching query?

Now while starting from http://developers.android.com I see the codes were in XML. So I googled for learning XML. The best site I found was http://www.w3schools.org but there I found that for learning XML I have to learn HTML and CSS. So I learned the basics of HTML and CSS. But, Now I find in that learning java is a must. So can someone give idea about the sequental languages that I should study now? Should I learn php,mysql too. • How serious/common are wordpress updating issues

  I am currently deciding between a CMS (joomla OR wordpress )to dive deep into. I think I would go for wordpress, but the only thing thats holding me back are any potential issues with updating wordpress- that updating wordpress can break plugins, but is necessary because of security issues. How drastic are the changes in wordpress? say over a period of 2-3 years? from the perspective of someone intending to dive head first in its code. Should I fear regular updates breaking stuff ? The scenarii of the problem is : Go to localhost:8080/portal Click sur Administrator I'm redirected to : openam.vauban.com:2080/openam_s952/UI/Login?realm=gatein&goto=http://localhost:8080/portal/private/classic I filled in the form with root / gtn I'm redirected to localhost:8080/portal/private/classic and the page is blank and the main fact is : The system seems to redirect me to this page infinitely.. Does Someone know an issue for this infinite loop? For information, I configured my OpenAM : Yo encode the cookies, use c66encode.

  I have a problem with the MATLAB 2012 installation. After having installed it using alt+f2 and having used gksudo nautilus I have installed MATLAB in the correct folder which is: /usr/local/MATLAB/R2012a Then I inserted the license and the window told "activation complete" or something like that. This made me happy, but only for a while because as soon as I try to search for Matlab within the applications I cannot find it and neither if I try to run matlab into terminal it says: command not found Can someone help me!? • G5 quad core will not boot from Ubuntu CD

  I have a PPC G5 Quad Core with Leopard on one hard drive and I want to install Ubuntu on a second hard drive. The second drive is installed and formatted as a Mac OS Extended (Journaled) drive. I have had no success booting from a CD or DVD with various PPC versions of Ubuntu using any of the suggested keys such as "C, Option, or anything else. Booting into open firmware doesn't work as the system can't find the \install\yaboot file. I am using various CD's burned as iso disk images, but none will boot. I have reset the PRAM, etc, to no avail. Beginning to get very frustrated. Can someone shed some light and provide me with a command line in open firmware that will work, or else direct me to a confirmed PPC bootable version of Ubuntu please? I'd appreciate any help you can provide....
