As you can see I allow user to select multiple Items. I want to open on Submit button click as many popup windows as many Items he selected in a list. Each popUp window should open some url like www.example.com/test.php?id=OPTION_SELECTED . So for each of the selected options I ll get a pop up window whith different url. Please Help.

• Which tools to use and how to find file descriptors leaking from Glassfish?

  We release new code to production every week and Glassfish hasn't had any problems. This weekend we had to move racks at our hosting provider. There were not any code changes (they just powered off, moved, re-racked and powered on) but we're on a new network infrastructure and suddenly we're leaking file descriptors like a sieve. So I'm guessing there is some sort of connection attempting to be made which now fails due to a network change. I'm running Glassfish v2ur2-b04/AS9.1_02 on RHEL4 with an embedded IMQ instance. I have no idea what these sockets are. I've undeployed my application so there is only a plain Glassfish instance running and I still see it leaking 12 file descriptors a minute. So I think this leak is in Glassfish or potentially IMQ. What approach should I take to tracking down these sockets of unknown protocol? What tools can I use (or flags can I pass to lsof) to get more information about where to look? thanks, chuck

Hi, We have recently upgraded to Office 2007. We have a method in which we have an open recordset (DAO). We then call another sub (UpdatingSub below) that executes SQL. This method has its own error handler. If error 3381 is encountered then the recordset in the calling method becomes "unset" and we get error 3420 'Object invalid or no longer set'. Other errors in UpdatingSub do not cause the same problem. This code works fine in Access 2003.   I've refactored how the merged-dictionary (all_classes) below is created, but I'm wondering if it can be more efficient. I have a dictionary of dictionaries, like this: groups_and_classes = {'group_1': {'class_A': [1, 2, 3], 'class_B': [1, 3, 5, 7], 'class_c': [1, 2], # ...many more items like this }, 'group_2': {'class_A': [11, 12, 13], 'class_C': [5, 6, 7, 8, 9] }, # ...and many more items like this } A function creates a new object from groups_and_classes like this (the function to create this is called often): all_classes = {'class_A': [1, 2, 3, 11, 12, 13], 'class_B': [1, 3, 5, 7, 9], 'class_C': [1, 2, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9] } Right now, there is a loop that does this: all_classes = {} for group in groups_and_classes.values(): for c, vals in group.iteritems(): for v in vals: if all_classes.has_key(c): if v not in all_classes[c]: all_classes[c].append(v) else: all_classes[c] = [v] So far, I changed the code to use a set instead of a list since the order of the list doesn't matter and the values need to be unique: all_classes = {} for group in groups_and_classes.values(): for c, vals in group.iteritems(): try: all_classes[c].update(set(vals)) except KeyError: all_classes[c] = set(vals) This is a little nicer, and I didn't have to convert the sets to lists because of how all_classes is used in the code. Question: Is there a more efficient way of creating all_classes (aside from building it at the same time groups_and_classes is built, and changing everywhere this function is called)?

I understand that I have to "return this" in order to make the methods chainable. public class CarBuilder { public CarBuilder() { car = new Car(); } private Car car; public CarBuilder AddEngine(IEngineBuilder engine) { car.Engine = engine.Engine(); return this; } public CarBuilder AddWheels(IWheelsBuilder wheels) { car.Wheels = wheels.Wheels(); return this; } public CarBuilder AddFrame(IFrameBuilder frame) { car.Frame = frame.Frame(); return this; } public Car BuildCar() { return car; } } with this I could build a car like that: Car c = builder.AddFrame(fBuilder).AddWheels(wBuilder).AddEngine(eBuilder).BuildCar(); But what I need is a special sequence or workflow: I can only build the wheels on top of the frame and when the wheels exist then I'll be able to build up the engine. So instead of offering every method of the car builder I want to be able to add only the frame to the builder and then only the wheels to the frame and then the engine on top of that... And how would it be or what would be a good implementation if the EngineBuilder itself has a fluent api like eBuilder.Cylinders(12).WithPistons().... Would it be possible to have something like this Car c = builder.AddFrame(fBuilder).AddWheels(wBuilder).AddEngine(x=>x.WithCylinders(12).WithPistons()).BuildCar(); So in sum how to structure the flow of the fluent interface and how to nest fluent Interfaces?

  I have a view with some tables and buttons on it, and then I want to add a tap gesture to the entire view, but I only want that gesture recognizer to recognize taps. Ideally, I want to do something when the added gesture recognizer is tapped, then remove that gesture recognizer after so the other buttons and tables can be accessed. Basically a tap to dismiss functionality that replicates something like the facebook notifications window, tap outside to dismiss, but not interfere with the buttons outside of the notifications view. Can anybody help?   Hello, I have a single spool mbox file that was created with evolution, containing a selection of emails that I wish to print. My problem is that the emails are not placed into the mbox file chronologically. I would like to know the best way to place order the files from first to last using bash, perl or python. I would like to oder by received for files addressed to me, and sent for files sent by me. Would it perhaps be easier to use maildir files or such? • Python raw strings and trailing back slashes.

  I ran across something once upon a time and wondered if it was a Python "bug" or at least a misfeature. I'm curious if anyone knows of any justifications for this behavior. I thought of it just now reading "Code Like a Pythonista," which has been enjoyable so far. I'm only familiar with the 2.x line of Python. Raw strings are strings that are prefixed with an r. This is great because I can use backslashes in regular expressions and I don't need to double everything everywhere. It's also handy for writing throwaway scripts on Windows, so I can use backslashes there also. (I know I can also use forward slashes, but throwaway scripts often contain content cut&pasted from elsewhere in Windows.) So great! Unless, of course, you really want your string to end with a backslash. There's no way to do that in a 'raw' string. In [9]: r'\n' Out[9]: '\\n' In [10]: r'abc\n' Out[10]: 'abc\\n' In [11]: r'abc\' ------------------------------------------------ File "<ipython console>", line 1 r'abc\' ^ SyntaxError: EOL while scanning string literal In [12]: r'abc\\' Out[12]: 'abc\\\\' So one slash before the closing quote is an error, but two slashes gives you two slashes! Certainly I'm not the only one that is bothered by this? Thoughts on why 'raw' strings are 'raw, except for slash-quote'? I mean, if I wanted to embed a single quote in there I'd just use double quotes around the string, and vice versa. If I wanted both, I'd just triple quote. If I really wanted three quotes in a row in a raw string, well, I guess I'd have to deal, but is this considered "proper behavior"?

• How many custom tabs can I add to a Facebook page?

  I'm building a web application to create custom tabs and add them to the user's Facebook fanpages. I know how the process of "installing" FB apps into FB pages so they show up as Page Tabs works, but the problem is the client wants to allow the user to create unlimited Page Tabs for a single FB Page. So I have basically two questions. 1 - Can I resue a single FB App to be included into the same page several times? If so, is there a way to know what is the "id" of that Page Tab? So, if I have my FB App to look for the Tab content in http://www.mywebapp.com/tab/, I know I get a signed_request with the App ID and the Page ID, but if that same App is installed several times into the same Page, I don't know what's the Tab the user have cliked on. I know it's a little big messy, and I don't think there's a way to do this. So my next question is probably more accurate. 2 - Is there a limit on how many Tabs can I add to a single Facebook page? This way, if there's a limit of, say, 12 Tabs, I can create 12 FB Tab Apps, store the ID's and then I know which Tab of which Page the user is currently viewing. Thanks in advice! Maxi
