• TypeError: Error #1009 - (Null reference error) With Flash.

  I am not an expert in flash, but i do work with AS and tweak Flash projects , though not having deep expertise in it. Currently i need to revamp a flash website done by one another guy, and the code base given to me, upon execution is throwing the following error. "--- TypeError: Error #1009: Cannot access a property or method of a null object reference. at NewSite_fla::MainTimeline/__setProp_ContactOutP1_ContactOut_Contents_0() at NewSite_fla::MainTimeline/frame1() --" The structure of the project is like, it has the different sections split into different movie clips. There is no single main timeline, but click actions on different areas of seperate movie clips will take them between one another. All the AS logic of event handling are written inline in FLA , no seperate Document class exists. Preloader Movie clip is the first one getting loaded. As i understood the error is getting thrown initially itself, and it is not happening due to any Action script logic written inline, because it is throwing error even before hitting the first inline AS code. I am not able to figure Out what exactly it causing the problem, or where to resolve it.   I am doing a project in Delphi6 which enables the user to update the table in SQL server database ; if there is any changes in the table of Paradox DB. An update button has been created and whenever the user clicks it, all the changes made in the paradox db table have to be updated in the SQL server table. Only if there is any changes the table need to be updated else ; it should close automatically. For that I have created a table, "Schedule" ,both in Paradox DB and SQL server. But I am stuck with this Paradox DB thing. Which component can I drop in the form for connecting the table in Paradox DB ? For SQL server I used ado table component. For this Paradox also can I use that ? I am not a regular programmer so I am not well versed this Delphi6 also. So I am seeking a help for this. Can anybody give me an example coding also ?

• fullcalendar : updating option function callbacks after init

  Ok, so I have a problem with setting options whose values are callback functions when I try to set them after plugin initialization. I think this would be a common behavior, to dynamically set event callback after init'ing the calendar. If I do it that way, it works fine. However if I try to set it after the init, it doesn't work :( Is the some other way to do this? Or am I stuck with having to set the behavior upfront?

  Hello, Language: C# Development Environment: Visual Studio 2008 Sorry if the english is not perfect. I want to login to a Website and get some Data from there. My Problem is that the Cookies does not work. Everytime the Website says that I should activate Cookies but i activated the Cookies trough a Cookiecontainer. I sniffed the traffic serveral times for the login progress and I see no problem there. I tried different methods to login and I have searched if someone else have this Problem but no results... We now wish to dis-aggregate time data for another type of analysis. It assumes a constant rate of production and divides output by the difference in minutes plus one to populate the new table's Output column. I know this can be done in code...but can it be done entirely in a MySQL insert statement (or otherwise entirely in MySQL)? I am thinking of a INSERT ... INTO construction but keep getting stuck. An additional complexity is that there are hundreds of machines to include in the operation so there will be multiple rows (one for each machine) for each minute of the day. • Thread Message Loop Hangs in Delphi

  Hello all. I have a simple Delphi program that I'm working on, in which I am attempting to use threading to separate the functionality of the program from its GUI, and to keep the GUI responsive during more lengthy tasks, etc. Basically, I have a 'controller' TThread, and a 'view' TForm. The view knows the controller's handle, which it uses to send the controller messages via PostThreadMessage. I have had no problem in the past using this sort of model for forms which are not the main form, but for some reason, when I attempt to use this model for the main form, the message loop of the thread just quits.   i was trying to extract a particular set of nodes from the following XML structure using XML::Twig, but have been stuck ever since. • Too many false positives when using FxCop.

  Dear ladies and sirs. We are using FxCop and it generates too many false positives to our liking. For instance, if a private method is invoked using reflection, then this method is reported as potentially unused - understandable and we suppress this warning explicitly using the SuppressMessage attribute. However, FxCop reports the same warning for the methods invoked from that method, which we already suppressed warnings about. This is stupid and generates too much noise. There are also false reports on member variables used in these methods. Also, there are problems with generic types (I even saw something about it in MS connect). Anyway, I am wondering if anyone knows whether Microsoft is going to upgrade FxCop, because it seems to be stuck in version 1.36 for a long time. BTW, I we do not use StyleCop, because it is way too picky and we just do not have the time to examine all the zillion messages in order to suppress them all. Besides, the StyleCop report seem to augment, rather than replace FxCop. Maybe anyone can suggest a good alternative to FxCop? We are using VS2008 pro. Thanks.

  Hey there. I'm trying to create a Regex javascript split, but I'm totally stuck. Here's my input: 9:30 pm The user did action A. 10:30 pm Welcome, user John Doe. ***This is a comment 11:30 am This is some more input. I want the output array after the split() to be (I've removed the \n for readability): ["9:30 pm The user did action A.", "10:30 pm Welcome, user John Doe.", "***This is a comment", "11:30 am This is some more input." ]; My current regular expression is: var split = text.split(/\s*(?=(\b\d+:\d+|\*\*\*))/); This works, but there is one problem: the timestamps get repeated in extra elements. So I get: ["9:30", "9:30 pm The user did action A.", "10:30", "10:30 pm Welcome, user John Doe.", "***This is a comment", "11:30", "11:30 am This is some more input." ]; I cant split on the newlines \n because they aren't consistent, and sometimes there may be no newlines at all. Could you help me out with a Regex for this? Thanks so much!!

  Hello, I'm new to C# and am stuck on the following. I have a Silverlight web service that uses LINQ to query a ADO.NET entity object. e.g.: [OperationContract] public List<Customer> GetData() { using (TestEntities ctx = new TestEntities()) { var data = from rec in ctx.Customer select rec; return data.ToList(); } } This works fine, but what I want to do is to make this more abstract. The first step would be to return a List<EntityObject> but this gives a compiler error, e.g.: [OperationContract] public List<EntityObject> GetData() { using (TestEntities ctx = new TestEntities()) { var data = from rec in ctx.Customer select rec; return data.ToList(); } } The error is: Error 1 Cannot implicitly convert type 'System.Collections.Generic.List<SilverlightTest.Web.Customer>' to 'System.Collections.Generic.IEnumerable<System.Data.Objects.DataClasses.EntityObject>'. • Why does adding Crossover to my Genetic Algorithm gives me worse results?

  I have implemented a Genetic Algorithm to solve the Traveling Salesman Problem (TSP). When I use only mutation, I find better solutions than when I add in crossover. I know that normal crossover methods do not work for TSP, so I implemented both the Ordered Crossover and the PMX Crossover methods, and both suffer from bad results. Here are the other parameters I'm using: Mutation: Single Swap Mutation or Inverted Subsequence Mutation (as described by Tiendil here) with mutation rates tested between 1% and 25%. Selection: Roulette Wheel Selection Fitness function: 1 / distance of tour Population size: Tested 100, 200, 500, I also run the GA 5 times so that I have a variety of starting populations. Stop Condition: 2500 generations With the same dataset of 26 points, I usually get results of about 500-600 distance using purely mutation with high mutation rates. When adding crossover my results are usually in the 800 distance range. The other confusing thing is that I have also implemented a very simple Hill-Climbing algorithm to solve the problem and when I run that 1000 times (faster than running the GA 5 times) I get results around 410-450 distance, and I would expect to get better results using a GA. Any ideas as to why my GA performing worse when I add crossover? And why is it performing much worse than a simple Hill-Climb algorithm which should get stuck on local maxima as it has no way of exploring once it finds a local max?

• Cakephp ACL authentication issue - I'm locked out

  I've followed the CakePHP Cookbook ACL tutorial And as of right now I'm just trying to add users using the scaffolding method. I'm trying to go to /users/add but it always redirects me to the login screen even though I have added $this->Auth->allow('*'); in beforeFilter() temporarily to allow access to all pages. I've done this in both the UsersController and GroupsController as the tutorial asked. Below is my code for UsersController which I think will be the most relevant of all the files. • How do I run a command as a different user from a root cronjob?

  I seem to be stuck between an NFS limitation and a Cron limitation. So I've got root cron (on RHEL5) running a shell script that, among other things, needs to rsync some files over an NFS mount. And the files on the NFS mount are owned by the apache user with mode 700, so only the apache user can run the rsync command -- running as root yields a permission error (NFS being a rare case, apparently, where the root user is not all-powerful?) When I just want to run the rsync by hand, I can use "sudo -u apache rsync ..." But sudo no workie in cron -- it says "sudo: sorry, you must have a tty to run sudo". I don't want to run the whole script as apache (i.e. from apache's crontab) because other parts of the script do require root -- it's just that one command that needs to run as apache. And I would really prefer not to change the mode on the files, as that will involve significant changes to other applications. There's gotta be a way to accomplish "sudo -u apache" from cron?? thanks! rob

If there is a way to override dql parser behaviour? Or maybe some other way to delete records from multiple tables using doctrine. Note: If you are using doctrine behaviours(Doctrine_Record_Generator) you need first to initialize those tables using Doctrine_Core::initializeModels() to perform DQL operations on them.

• Adding changes from one Mercurial repository to another

  When changing the VCS for my project FakeItEasy from SVN to Mercurial on Google Code I was a bit too eager (I'm funny like that). What I did was just checking the latest version out of SVN and then commiting that checkout as the first revision of the new Mercurial repo. This obviously has the effect that all history is lost. Later when getting a bit better acustomed to Mercurial I realized that there is such a thing as a "convert extension" that allows you to convert a SVN repo into a Mercurial repo. Now what I want to do is to convert the old SVN repo and then have all change sets from the currently existing Mercurial repo imported into this converted repo except the very first commit to Mercurial. I've converted the SVN repo to a local Mercurial repo but now is when I'm stuck. I thought I'd be able to use the convert extension to bring the current Mercurial repository into the converted one and having a splice map remove the first commit but I can not seem to get this to work. I've also tried to just use convert without splice map to get all change sets from the current Mercurial repo into the converted one and the rebase the second version in the current to the last commit from the old SVN repository but I can't get that to work either. To make this clearer lets say I have these two repositories: A: revA1-revA2 B: revB1-revB2-revB3 (Where revB1 is actually a copy of revA2) Now I want to combine these two into the new repository containing this: C: revA1-revA2-revB2-revB3

• .Net website create directory to remote server access denied

  I have a web application that creates directories. The application works fine when creating a directory on the web server, however, it does not work when it tries to create a directory on our remote fileserver. The fileserver and the webserver are in the same domain. I have created a local user in our domain, "DOMAIN\aspnet". The local user is on both servers. I am running my .Net app pool under the domain user. I have also tried using windows impersonate in the web.config to run under the domain user. I have verified that the domain user has full control to the remote directory. In an effort to debug this I have also given the "everyone" full control to the remote directory. In an effort to debug this I have also added the domain user to the administrators group. I have a simple .net test page on the web server to test this. Through the test page I am able to read the directory on the file server and get a list of everything in it. I am not able to upload files or to create directories on the file server. Here's code that works: var path = @"\\fileserver\images\"; var di = new DirectoryInfo(path); foreach (var d in di.GetDirectories()) { Response.Write(d.Name); } Here's code that doesn't work: path = Path.Combine(path, "NewDirectory"); Directory.CreateDirectory(path); Here's the error I'm getting: Access to the path '\fileserver\images\NewDirectory' is denied. • Jquery Cluetip - clean up between ajax loaded content

  Hi, I'm using the jquery cluetip plugin and trying to figure out how to remove any open cluetip dialogs once i load new content via ajax. I am either stuck with the dialog boxes still showing on top of new content, or the ways i've tried to fix this actually remove all future cluetip dialogs from showing at all. Here's my code, thanks for any help. • How to isolate a single element from a scraped web page in R

  Hello, I'm trying to do soemone a favour, and it's a tad outside my comfort zone, so I'm stuck. I want to use R to scrape this page (http://www.fifa.com/worldcup/archive/germany2006/results/matches/match=97410001/report.html ) and others, to get the goal scorers and times. • Writing fortran robust and "modern" code

  In some scientific environments, you often cannot go without FORTRAN as most of the developers only know that idiom, and there is lot of legacy code and related experience. And frankly, there are not many other cross-platform options for high performance programming ( C++ would do the task, but the syntax, zero-starting arrays, and pointers are too much for most engineers ;-) ). I'm a C++ guy but I'm stuck with some F90 projects. So, let's assume a new project must use FORTRAN (F90), but I want to build the most modern software architecture out of it. while being compatible with most "recent" compilers (intel ifort, but also including sun/HP/IBM own compilers) So I'm thinking of imposing: global variable forbidden, no gotos, no jump labels, "implicit none", etc. "object-oriented programming" (modules with datatypes + related subroutines) modular/reusable functions, well documented, reusable libraries assertions/preconditions/invariants (implemented using preprocessor statements) unit tests for all (most) subroutines and "objects" an intense "debug mode" (#ifdef DEBUG) with more checks and all possible Intel compiler checks possible (array bounds, subroutine interfaces, etc.) uniform and enforced legible coding style, using code processing tools C stubs/wrappers for libpthread, libDL (and eventually GPU kernels, etc.) C/C++ implementation of utility functions (strings, file operations, sockets, memory alloc/dealloc reference counting for debug mode, etc.) ( This may all seem "evident" modern programming assumptions, but in a legacy fortran world, most of these are big changes in the typical programmer workflow ) The goal with all that is to have trustworthy, maintainable and modular code. Whereas, in typical fortran, modularity is often not a primary goal, and code is trustworthy only if the original developer was very clever, and the code was not changed since then ! (i'm a bit joking here, but not much) I searched around for references about object-oriented fortran, programming-by-contract (assertions/preconditions/etc.), and found only ugly and outdated documents, syntaxes and papers done by people with no large-scale project involvement, and dead projects. Any good URL, advice, reference paper/books on the subject?

• Java Swing Threading with Updatable JProgressBar

  First off I've been working with Java's Concurency package quite a bit lately but I have found an issue that I am stuck on. I want to have and Application and the Application can have a SplashScreen with a status bar and the loading of other data. So I decided to use SwingUtilities.invokeAndWait( call the splash component here ). The SplashScreen then appears with a JProgressBar and runs a group of threads. But I can't seem to get a good handle on things. I've looked over SwingWorker and tried using it for this purpose but the thread just returns. Here is a bit of sudo-code. and the points I'm trying to achieve. Have an Application that has a SplashScreen that pauses while loading info Be able to run multiple threads under the SplashScreen Have the progress bar of the SplashScreen Update-able yet not exit until all threads are done. Launching splash screen try { SwingUtilities.invokeAndWait( SplashScreen ); } catch (InterruptedException e) { } catch (InvocationTargetException e) { } Splash screen construction SplashScreen extends JFrame implements Runnable{ public void run() { //run threads //while updating status bar } } I have tried many things including SwingWorkers, Threads using CountDownLatch's, and others. The CountDownLatch's actually worked in the manner I wanted to do the processing but I was unable to update the GUI. When using the SwingWorkers either the invokeAndWait was basically nullified (which is their purpose) or it wouldn't update the GUI still even when using a PropertyChangedListener. If someone else has a couple ideas it would be great to hear them. Thanks in advance.

• How do I get LongVarchar out param from SPROC in ADO.NET 2.0 with SQLAnywhere 10?

  Hi All, I have sproc 'up_selfassessform_view' which has the following parameters: in ai_eqidentkey SYSKEY in ai_acidentkey SYSKEY out as_eqcomments TEXT_STRING out as_acexplanation TEXT_STRING  -  which are domain objects - SYSKEY is 'integer' and TEXT_STRING is 'long varchar'. I can call the sproc fine from iSQL using the following code: create variable @eqcomments TEXT_STRING; create variable @acexamples TEXT_STRING; call up_selfassessform_view (75000146, 3, @eqcomments, @acexamples); select @eqcomments, @acexamples;  - which returns the correct values from the DB (so I know the SPROC is good). I have configured the out param in ADO.NET like so (which has worked up until now for 'integer', 'timestamp', 'varchar(255)', etc): SAParameter as_acexplanation = cmd.CreateParameter(); as_acexplanation.Direction = ParameterDirection.Output; as_acexplanation.ParameterName = "as_acexplanation"; as_acexplanation.SADbType = SADbType.LongVarchar; cmd.Parameters.Add(as_acexplanation); When I run the following code: SADataReader reader = cmd.ExecuteReader(); I receive the following error: Parameter[2]: the Size property has an invalid size of 0. Which (I suppose) makes sense... But the thing is, I don't know the size of the field (it's just "long varchar" it doesn't have a predetermined length - unlike varchar(XXX)). Anyhow, just for fun, I add the following: as_acexplanation.Size = 1000; and the above error goes away, but now when I call: as_acexplanation.Value i get back a string of length = 1000 which is just '\0\0\0\0\0\0\0\0\0\0\0\0\0\0\0\0...' (\0 repeated 1000 times). So I'm really really stuck... Any help one this one would be much appreciated. Cheers! ;) Tod T.
