  I have an ASP.NET website and I want to find the /bin/[Configuration] folder to use an external tool. When I use reflection to get calling assemblies location it returns something similar to: C:\Windows\Microsoft.NET\Framework\...\Temporary ASP.NET Files\a1388a5e\...\my.dll Since each dll has its own directory under the temp ASP.NET Files this fails for me. How can I get the location of the binary, not asp.net's temporary cache?

• "too many automatic redirections were attempted" error message when using a httpWebRequest in .NET

  I am attempting to request a page like "http://www.google.com/?q=random" using the webrequest class in vb.net. we are behind a firewall, so we have to authenticate our requests. I have gotten past the authentication part by adding my credentials. But once that works it seems to go into a redirecting loop. Does anyone have an ideas, comments, suggetions why this is? Has anyone else experienced this problem?   I am having a problem with my code. I am using VB.NET and Visual Studio 2010 to write my program. The source of the control that I am using can be found here. First, I imported the Calendar.DayView.dll file into my toolbox to use as a control. Then I added the following code to my existing code: Private Sub DayView1_NewAppointment(ByVal sender As System.Object, ByVal args As Calendar.NewAppointmentEventArgs) Dim appointment As New Calendar.Appointment() appointment.StartDate = args.StartDate appointment.EndDate = args.EndDate appointment.Title = args.Title appointments.Add(appointment) End Sub I get this error 'Title' is not a member of 'Calendar.Appointment'. I have no access to the Calendar namespace or the Appointment class. I am able to view the properties of both in the Object Browser but I can't edit any of them. Any suggestions?

• UpdatePanel not working in IE or Chrome

  I have an updatepanel on my masterpage. Within the contentplace holder I have my update progress control. When a user clicks on the button I load some data into a gridview. This works perfectly in FireFox. User clicks the button, the loading image in my updateprogress fires and loads the gridview. When I test this in IE 6 or 7 or in Chrome. It does a full postback and the updateprogress is never shown. So the updatepanel doesnt seem to be working in these two browsers. Code is below. I simply need to read the contents within the ASP.NET application. I've searched the Web and haven't really found a solid answer. However, since the algorithm to create GUIDs was changed apparently, I found it hard to get my hands on any up-to-date information. The MSDN seems to try and provide as few information as possible. What is known about how GUIDs are generated in .NET 4? What was changed, and how does it affect the security ("randomness") and integrity ("uniqueness")? One specific aspect I'm interested in: In v1, it seems to be about impossible to generate the same GUID on a single machine again since there was a timestamp and counter involved. In v4, this is no longer the case (I was told), so the chance to get the same GUID on a single machine ... increased?

  I have a project in which I'd like to use some of the .NET 4.0 features but a core requirement is that I can use the System.Data.SQLite framework which is compiled against 2.X. I see mention of this being possible such as the accepted answer here but I don't see how to actually achieve this. When I just try and run my 4.0 project while referencing the 2.X assembly I get: Mixed mode assembly is built against version 'v2.0.50727' of the runtime and cannot be loaded in the 4.0 runtime without additional configuration information. What "additional configuration" is necessary?
