• Change with jQuery a cell of a table created with JSF

  From within a xhtml page created with JSF, I need to use JavaScript / jQuery for changing the content of a cell of a table. I know how to assign a unique id to the div containing the table, and to the tbody. I can also assign unique class names to the div itself and to the target column. I need to search my target row and my target column inside that particular div or inside that particular table, because the xhtml page may contain other tables with different unique ids (and accidentally with the same row and column ids).

• Help ! How do I get the total number rows from my SQL Server paging procedure ?

  Ok I have a table in my SQL Server database that stores comments. My desire is to be able to page though the records using [Back],[Next], page numbers & [Last] buttons in my data list. I figured the most efficient way was to use a stored procedure that only returns a certain number of rows within a particular range. Here is what I came up with @PageIndex INT, @PageSize INT, @postid int AS SET NOCOUNT ON begin WITH tmp AS ( SELECT comments.*, ROW_NUMBER() OVER (ORDER BY dateposted ASC) AS Row FROM comments WHERE (comments.postid = @postid)) SELECT tmp.* FROM tmp WHERE Row between (@PageIndex - 1) * @PageSize + 1 and @PageIndex*@PageSize end RETURN Now everything works fine and I have been able implement [Next] and [Back] buttons in my data list pager. Now I need the total number of all comments (not in the current page) so that I can implement my page numbers and the[Last] button on my pager. In other words I want to return the total number of rows in my first select statement i.e WITH tmp AS ( SELECT comments.*, ROW_NUMBER() OVER (ORDER BY dateposted ASC) AS Row FROM comments WHERE (comments.postid = @postid)) set @TotalRows = @@rowcount @@rowcount doesn't work and raises an error. I also cant get count.* to work either. Is there another way to get the total amount of rows or is my approach doomed.

• Java semaphore to syncronize printing to screen

  I'm currently stuck on a bit of homework and was wondering if anyone could help - I have to use semaphores in java to syncronize printing letters from 2 threads - one printing "A" and one printing "B". I cannot print out more than 2 of the same character in a row, so output should look like AABABABABABBABABABABAABBAABBABABA At the moment I have 3 semaphores, a binary mutex set to 1, and a counting semaphore, and my thread classes look something like this - public void run() { while (true) { Time.delay(RandomGenerator.integer(0,20)); Semaphores.mutex.down (); System.out.println (produce()); if (printCount > 1) { printCount = 0; Semaphores.mutex.up (); Semaphores.printB.up(); } } } public String produce() { printCount++; return "A"; } public void run() { while (true) { Time.delay(RandomGenerator.integer(0,20)); Semaphores.mutex.down (); System.out.println (produce()); if (printCount > 1) { printCount = 0; Semaphores.mutex.up (); Semaphores.printA.up(); } } } public String produce() { printCount++; return "B"; } Yet whatever I try it either deadlocks, or it seems to be working only printing 2 in a row at most, but always seems to print 3 in a row every now and again! Any help is much appreciated, not looking code or anything just a few pointers if possible :)

  Hi, Is there a simple way to export a WPF DataGrid to a text file and a .csv file? I've done some searching and can't see that there is a simple DataGrid method to do so. I have got something working (barely) by making use of the ItemsSource of the DataGrid. In my case, this is an array of structs. I do something with StreamWriters and StringBuilders (details available) and basically have: StringBuilder destination = new StringBuilder(); destination.Append(row.CreationDate); destination.Append(seperator); // seperator is '\t' or ',' for csv file destination.Append(row.ProcId); destination.Append(seperator); destination.Append(row.PartNumber); destination.Append(seperator); I do this for each struct in the array (in a loop). This works fine. The problem is that it's not easy to read the text file. The data can be of different lengths within the same column. I'd like to see something like: 2007-03-03 234238423823 823829923 2007-03-03 66 99 And of course, I get something like: 2007-03-03 234238423823 823829923 2007-03-03 66 99 It's not surprising giving that I'm using Tab delimiters, but I hope to do better. It certainly is easy to read in the DataGrid! I could of course have some logic to pad short values with spaces, but that seems quite messy. I thought there might be a better way. I also have a feeling that this is a common problem and one that has probably been solved before (hopefully within the .NET classes themselves). Thanks.

  hi I'm quite new to mysql and I'm trying to figure out how to use triggers. what I'm trying to do: I have 2 tables, max and sub_max, when I insert a new row to sub_max I want to check if the SUM of the values with the same foreign_key as the new row are less than the value in the max table. • creating matrix with probabilities

  Hi all, I want to generate a matrix of NxN to test some code that I have where each row contains floats as the elements and has to add up to 1 (i.e. a row with a set of probabilities). Where it gets tricky is that I want to make sure that randomly some of the elements should be 0 (in fact most of the elements should be 0 except for some random ones to be the probabilities). I need the probabilities to be 1/m where m is the number of elements that are not 0 within a single row. I tried to think of ways to output this, but essentially I would need this stored in a C++ array. So even if I output to a file I would still have the issue of not having it in array as I need it. At the end of it all I need that array because I want to generate a Market Matrix file. I found an implementation in C++ to take an array and convert it to the market matrix file, so this is what I am basing my findings on. My input for the rest of the code takes in this market matrix file so I need that to be the primary form of output. The language does not matter, I just want to generate the file at the end (I found a way mmwrite and mmread in python as well) Please help, I am stuck and not really sure how to implement this.

  I'm attempting to learn Tkinter with the goal of being able to create a 'real-time' scope to plot data. As a test, I'm trying to draw a polygon on the canvas every time the 'draw' button is pressed. The triangle position is randomized. I have two problems: There is a triangle on the canvas as soon as the program starts, why and how do I fix this? It doesn't draw any triangles when I press the button, at least none that I can see. The tables is created using MVC's built in partialview ajax.   Hi all, I am trying to save data into the same table several times from the same $_POST array. You see, on my registration form a family is allowed to specify the names, gender and age of all members they wish to bring along. This data is being stored in a database table called aditional_member. I tried looping the insert statement, which failed. I am basically open to suggestions, I do not need to use a table. Any ideas, Thank you.

I tried: $("tr td:not(:last)").css("background-color","red"); //changing color just as a test... But instead of all cells but the last on each row being changed, all cells but the very last one in the table are selected. Similarly, if I change it to: $("tr td:last").css("background-color","red"); the only one that changes is the very last cell. How do I choose the last (or not last) of each row?

  Im am trying to add a check box that will enable/disable the edit button. Im retrieving a price list and displaying it inside a table. When i add the javascript into the php code it doesn't work. • Aligning inputs on bootstrap using the Fluid Grid System

  I am creating a form that requires the user to input their name and email address. The first line of the form has two inputs side by side for each part of the name and the 2nd line has one input for the email address that should be the same width as the first line combined. • Parse a CSV file using python (to make a decision tree later)

  First off, full disclosure: This is going towards a uni assignment, so I don't want to receive code. :). I'm more looking for approaches; I'm very new to python, having read a book but not yet written any code. The entire task is to import the contents of a CSV file, create a decision tree from the contents of the CSV file (using the ID3 algorithm), and then parse a second CSV file to run against the tree. There's a big (understandable) preference to have it capable of dealing with different CSV files (I asked if we were allowed to hard code the column names, mostly to eliminate it as a possibility, and the answer was no). The CSV files are in a fairly standard format; the header row is marked with a # then the column names are displayed, and every row after that is a simple series of values. Example: # Column1, Column2, Column3, Column4 Value01, Value02, Value03, Value04 Value11, Value12, Value13, Value14 At the moment, I'm trying to work out the first part: parsing the CSV. To make the decisions for the decision tree, a dictionary structure seems like it's going to be the most logical; so I was thinking of doing something along these lines: Read in each line, character by character If the character is not a comma or a space Append character to temporary string If the character is a comma Append the temporary string to a list Empty string Once a line has been read Create a dictionary using the header row as the key (somehow!) Append that dictionary to a list However, if I do things that way, I'm not sure how to make a mapping between the keys and the values. I'm also wondering whether there is some way to perform an action on every dictionary in a list, since I'll need to be doing things to the effect of "Everyone return their values for columns Column1 and Column4, so I can count up who has what!" - I assume that there is some mechanism, but I don't think I know how to do it. Is a dictionary the best way to do it? Would I be better off doing things using some other data structure? If so, what?

  I have a library function that sets up my forms, and submits data. They're long, and they work, so I'll spare you reading my code. :) I simply need a way for my functions to determine how to handle the data. Until now, the function did one thing: Submit a report for the current user. NOW, the client has requested that an administrator also be able to complete a form--this means that the form would be filled out, and it would CREATE a user at the same time, whereas the current function EDITS and is accessed by an EXISTING user. Do I need a separate function to do essentially the same thing? How do I make one function perform two tasks? One to update a user, and if there is no user, create one. • Writing csv file in asp.net

  Hello, I'm trying to export data to a csv file, as there are chinese characters in the data i had to use unicode.. but after adding the preamble for unicode, the commas are not recognized as delimiters and all data are now written to the first column. In a tableView I have the following: NSDictionary *cat = [category objectAtIndex:indexPath.row]; cell.textLabel.text = [cat valueForKey:@"reference"]; This populates the tableView with the content of the array from an XML file. There is another array “data” that prints out the content to the debug console and I want to populate another view with this content. But I am having lot of trouble populating the next view with the data array.
