• How can I capture GNUMake differences between two directories

  I have a tricky issue with gmake, when I build from the parent directory, something is different and the make does not build all the .o(s) it needs and fails, but if I cd to the directory and do a make it builds them fine. How can I get GNUmake to tell me the difference between these two runs? There must be some make variables set in the parent that break the child, but I need help figuring out how to track them down.

• asp.net prevent form submission twice

  I have a web forms web application (asp.net 2.0). When the user submits the form I have the submit link actually going away so they can't submit it again. However, they could press F5 and that is causing another insert into the database, which I don't want to have happen. Is there a setting of some sort that I can set if/when they do press F5 to tell the page - don't submit again?

• Android Debugging with Logcat and Emulator. Is it possible?

  This is pretty simple: I'm using NetBeans on Linux with Android emulator 1.6. I have Logcat on my android phone, but the process of getting the messages to somewhere readable isn't smooth at all. Can someone tell me how to get Logcat running on the emulator? Is there anything I can do to see debug messages other then having to copy the apk to my phone and testing it? Thanks in advance!

  I have a web application running in a kiosk, which is set up with greasemonkey so that we can customize little things about the application and ensure the customizations only occur at the kiosk. I have been digging through the GM api hoping that it would have some functionality to affect browser settings, but alas it looks like it only affects pages running in the browser. Is there a way for me to tell the browser to clear it's cache when a certain event happens in the application?

  After prompting the user for the login and submitting it's details, my application appears in the facebook lightbox instead of the browser window. This is not the case when I remove the SWFAddress params (all the info after the hash in the URL bar).   I have an initial migration that sets up two tables (users and projects), with a relationship (innoDB). $table->foreign('user_id')->references('id')->on('users'); I have two Eloquent models set up, blank except for the relationship: return $this->has_many('Project'); Do i definitely need to tell eloquent about the relationship in the models and the database? I'd assumed something as comprehensive as Laravel would infer it from the Schema? Is there something I'm missing?

• Is there any way to find unreferenced code in Flex Builder?

  We've got several Flex projects, one of which has just been refactored. I'm wondering if there's an easy way to tell which classes and functions (if any) aren't being used any more? I've discovered that we've definitely got some unused code, because running ASDoc on the entire project reports some compilation errors which don't get reported by Flex Builder (implying that those classes aren't being used any more). I'm hoping to find a more robust and complete method, and preferably one which can work at function level too.

  Hi, I was asked this question today by a colleague, and couldn't find any clue on the Internet... Can someone tell me if calling Marshall.ReleaseComObject()directly calls the garbage collector ?   There is a CLOB field we are trying to insert html content and sometimes we are getting an error as: ORA-01461: can bind a LONG value only for insert into a LONG column When i used nhibernate profiler and copy the query to Toad, it asked me to enter values for variables called "NBSP"! Is this means that nhibernate doesnt escape special chars? if so how can i tell it to escape special chars globally?

• Objective C: Initalizing static variable with static method call

  The Compiler claims an error saying: "initializer element is not constant", when I try to initialize a static variable inside a method with a call to a static method (with + in its definition). Anyway I can tell him that this method always returns the same value. I know this is not the same as static method, but there seems to be no constant methods in Objective-C (other than macros which won't work here because I am calling UI_USER_INTERFACE_IDIOM() from inside the method).
