  • Why do browsers use my saved password for all forms in the one site?

    Is there a way to limit the url of saved credentials in browsers? For example, if I save a username and password for http://www.website.com/login can I make it so that the rest of the forms in the site don't use these details? http://www.website.com/members, http://www.website.com/admin etc... I'm aware of the autocomplete attribute but I don't want to turn off autocomplete entirely. I would like it if the browser remembered the login details per form or url.

    Is HTTP digest authentication still supported in Rails 3? I tried the following code in Rails 2.3.5, it works. class Admin::BaseController < ApplicationController before_filter :authenticate USERS = { "lifo" => "world" } def authenticate authenticate_or_request_with_http_digest("Application") do |name| USERS[name] end end end Now, the same thing in Rails 3.0.0.beta) returns an error: can't convert nil into String Am I missing something or is this a bug in Rails 3? HTTP basic authentication works fine.

    Hello! Im new att widgets, but i have manage to write my own widget and get it to display correctly in my theme. The only problem i have now is that i want the widget to "auto activate" in the sidebar. So when the theme is installed on any wordpress installation the widget should be active so the user dosent need to drag it to the sidebar in admin. Is that possible?

I want to execute commands on remote windows xp machine ( I have username and password of admin account of remote machine ) so as to launch application like Internet Explorer, Notepad or some bat script. Is there any command line utility to do this via ubuntu? I tried rdesktop, winexe, ssh, telnet but they are not much of use. Can you please suggest some other way?

This will allow admins to preview the site with archived or scheduled posts. I'd like to avoid finding all mentions of date() or time() and offsetting them. Is there a way of making PHP think it's a specific date so that all calls to date() default to the new time? Thank you

    Currently in my tests I do something like this to test if an email is queued to be sent assert_difference('ActionMailer::Base.deliveries.size', 1) do get :create_from_spreedly, {:user_id => @logged_in_user.id} end but if i a controller action can send two different emails i.e. one to the user if sign up goes fine or a notification to admin if something went wrong - how can i test which one actually got sent. The code above would pass regardless.

There are only a few areas of the site which will require the client to be able to update the content themselves. I need to protect the url so only the "admin" role can access it but I'm having trouble with it - the rest of the acegi rules work just fine.     I'm trying to transfer a site from one hosting company to another. I was using 000webhost until the client had hosting and a domain. Now that the client has their domain and hosting, using FatCow.com, I can not for the life of me, debug my PHP code. I'm not getting any errors. I have a successful DB connection. If you procedurally display data, it works, but when I try to use my original objects, something is breaking and just returns "0:". I have all errors on.
