Make Android Activity looks like dialog

Hi, I am trying to open a dialog on widget click. I have solved the problem skinning the activity started on click with android:theme="@android:style/Theme.Dialog". Unfortunately I cannot reach the same look of a dialog. This is the outcome: http://i50.tinypic.com/n15lcy.png while I would like to reach this result (except for the button, of course): h ttp://i48.tinypic.com/2ithqpc.png (the widget dialog you can see keeping the screen pushed) As you can see there are some differences: the color of the list items, the color of the text and the list item separator. Is there a predefined theme/style to obtain the same look of a standard dialog? If not, what are the steps to follow to reach that result? I have seen that the widget provided by FoxyRing has the behaviour I would like to have. Thanks

Difference in css-positioning in windows and linux

I have a problem with rendering my html page by the same browsers in different OS. There are 3 spans and position of each span is corrected through css(position:relative). But I have found out that the page that looks correct in firefox under Linux, shows not right at the same firefox(3.5.7) under Windows OS. Linux(Left - How it should be)/Windows(right): link text And the same with other browsers. What is the cause of this problem and how is possible to solve it. Remove redundant CSS rules

I have several CSS files all being used in a large application; most are legacy, with one "main" css file that is the most current. This setup came about after a rebranding, and instead of redoing all of the CSS, we simply added a new CSS file that would override the rules from the legacy files. So now, I'd like to distill all of this CSS (1000's of lines) into 1 file. NOTE: I don't want to simply combine the files (as in copy/pasting them all into 1 file); I need an application to semi-intelligently look at the rules, reduce them down to only the effective rules (after inheritance), but I can't find anything like that. Example; given: /* legacy.css */ .foo { color: red; margin: 5px; } ..and: /* current.css */ .foo { margin: 10px; } I need a tool to output: /* result.css */ .foo { color: red; margin: 10px; } Does such an application exist?

Hi I would really like to give some sortable goodness to the myriad old tables I have created. A little work has a proof of concept behaving ok. My one sticking point is that the placeholder does not work at all in IE 7 when using item:TR . It works OK in FF. I can make an perform correctly. Code editor skins?

This is a kind of unorthodox question. Frankly, I won't lie to you. I am new to programming and am planning to improve myself. I enjoy coding but I need something to keep me going during the down times, so my question is: Is there such a thing as a code editor skin? A compiler skin? For example, you have the Command Prompt, it has a black background with white writing, it seems geeky, exactly what I want. I want a compiler that looks like command prompt...black with white writing (or green) or still has color coding (some compilers change color of text based on command). Yes, this is mainly for boasting, but I don't want to show someone something that basically looks like a text editor, I just want something that looks a little cooler. P.S (This question may seem a little unnecessary, it is because it is my first question, I'd like to warm up to this community before I start asking some real questions about code.)

I would prefer to avoid writing my own if a decent implementation already exists - while the API doesn't look to complicated, I'd rather not re-invent the wheel (so to speak). Hopefully this doesn't matter, but I am using .NET 3.5 with ASP.MVC 1.0. Thanks in advance.

After doing some reading, I've found that you can customize the text and color on a UISwitch control. I'm curious if these methods will cause problems trying to get my app approved and included in the App Store. Windows Desktop Search - Force re-index / index now from command line.

I'm working on a project where we're using Windows Desktop Search (WDS) to index files on a web share and then later allow the user to search via a website for documents in the share. These documents are transferred to the share via FTP, however it would seem that either the computer never goes idle to index or at some point the indexing stops. Is there a way from the command line or within the program itself to force this to happen without having to re-invent the wheel? Using .NET 3.5 and C#.

Hi, I'm having some trouble getting pictures inside a tablelayout...actually, each I have 2 columns and when i put a picture in a cell of the table, it's completely streched and disproportionnated...I can't find how to make it stay it's original inside the cell and let the rest of the space filled by white background for instance....
