  • How to find an audio file's length (in seconds)

    - by mIL3S
Hi all! (Objective C) Just using simple AudioServicesPlaySystemSoundID and its counterparts, but I can't find in the documentation if there is already a way to find the length of an audio file. I know there is AudioServicesGetPropertyInfo, but that seems to return a byte-buffer - do audio files embed their length in themselves and I can just extract it with this? Or is there perhaps a formula based on bit-rate * fileSize to convert to length-of-time? mIL3S www.milkdrinkingcow.com

  • What is the meaning of client coordinates in SetWindowPos

    - by user1775315
The documentation for SetWindowPos says the following for the X and Y parameters: X [in] Type: int The new position of the left side of the window, in client coordinates. Y [in] Type: int The new position of the top of the window, in client coordinates. By "client coordinates", does it mean that the parameters specify the position of the client area of the window, or that they specify the position of the window (not the client area) relative to the parent window's client area? Or something else?

  • DBTransaction Rollback throws

    - by pdiddy
Looking into the documentation it says that the Rollback method can throw when the transaction is not in pending state (after begin transaction and before commit transaction). I can't seem to find a way to check whether the transaction can be rollback or not. There isn't a state property either.

  • Python development with Emacs?

    - by ipeev
Anybody knows some actual documentation written? I can't find anything good for any of the 2 competing mods. Looks like Emacs is pretty much abandon when it comes to Python and it is a shame as there is no other programmable programming editor that comes close to Emacs.

  • [ZF] How to use Zend_Db without SQL Queries?

    - by rasouza
The last time I worked with Zend_Db I recall I used to write SQL Queries manually. I've been searching for some ORM application, but, since I read something like Zend_Db is also capable of doing so, I started to try it, but I can't find neither a good tutorial explain it or a good documentation. I read something lake Gateway pattern and ModelMapper class but I can't figure it out. Can someone shine my path? :P

  • 'if' in prolog?

    - by jreid9001
Probably a stupid question, but I can't find any documentation anywhere for it. Is there a way to do an if in prolog, e.g. if a variable is 0, then to do some actions (write text to the terminal). An else isn't even needed, but I can't find any implementation of if.

  • is there a 'git find'?

    - by Martin DeMello
Is there a git find analogue of git grep, i.e., something that will find a filename by pattern in the tree? I've gone through a lot of git documentation and not found this, but I'm having a hard time believing it doesn't exist somewhere.

  • Android - what's the difference between the various methods to get a Context?

    - by Alnitak
In various bits of Android code I've seen: public class MyActivity extends Activity { public void method() { mContext = this; // since Activity extends Context mContext = getApplicationContext(); mContext = getBaseContext(); } } However I can't find any decent explanation of which is preferable, and under what circumstances which should be used. Pointers to documentation on this, and guidance about what might break if the wrong one is chosen, would be much appreciated.

  • Invoking a function of library libfprint in Python

    - by Ivanelson
I need help to call a function(Struct C) that detects the devices, so I'm calling the function this way: from ctypes import * fp = CDLL('./libfprint.so.0') fp.fp_discover_devs.argtypes = None fp.fp_discover_devs.restype = c_char_p ret = fp.fp_discover_devs() print ret # is "0" That is not detected any device, because the return is "0". See the documentation of the function: I'm using Ubuntu and I downloaded the "fprint_demo" and works perfectly. Did you install any package missing? Thanks.

  • Suspend orientation change

    - by OkyDokyman
Documentation says: "a configuration change (such as a change in screen orientation, language, input devices, etc) will cause your current activity to be destroyed, going through the normal activity lifecycle process of onPause(), onStop(), and onDestroy()." I would like to suspend the orientation change, since it crashes my app if it was done in the middle of a a loop (of reading a file). How can I do this? Also - looking for some kind of "onOrientationChnage" function :)
