• use hg to synchronize my project between my two computer

  Hi: I have two computer : the desktop in my company and the portable computer in my home. Now I want to use the hg to synchronize the project between them using a "USB removable disk". So I wonder how to implement it? THe pro in my desktop is : D:\work\mypro. I use the following command to init it: hg init Then I connect to the USB disk whose volume label is "H",and get a clone using: cd H: hg init hg clone D:\work\mypro mypro-usb ANd in my portable computer I use: cd D: hg clone H:\mypro-usb mypro-home However I do not know how to do if I modify some files(remove or add and modify) in the mypro-home,how to make the mypro-usb changed synchronizely,also I want the mypro in my desktop synchronizely. How to do it?

I noticed that after I clear Firefox cache the script works well first time button1 is pressed, but after that it doesn't work. I would be grateful for helpful suggestions.

• Don't launch application from widget

  Hi all, I'm trying to make an appwidget where I have a dialog pop up on top of the home screen. (Ex the Facebook widget). I have button on the widget and an activity that I run when the button is clicked. I have the activity set to the Theme.Translucent.NoTitleBar theme so that the dialog and/or toast I have should pop up over the home screen. Anyways, whenever I have the transparent activity open, it opens the application instead of staying on the home screen. Any help would be appreciated! Thanks in advance!

• urlrewriter.net page not executed

  Hello, I'm having some problems with the module urlrewriter.net for ASP.NET. I have a multilingual site with a URL like this; ~/home.aspx To support languages I use this rewrite rule; <rewrite url="~/de-DE/(.*)" to="~/$1"></rewrite> Then in my code I get the de-DE part and set the right culture for the current thread. All of this works well. After I login on the website I get a message "Hello, user x" to show i'm logged in. When navigating to another page, it doesn't display this message anymore and it seems like the page comes from the cache or something with the old (not logged in) data. Also, when I attach the debugger, nothing is executed for this request. If I visit the page like ~/home.aspx instead of ~/de-DE/home.aspx, does problem does not occur. What could be the problem here? • Shipping GNU/Linux Firefox plugin with shared libraries (for installation with no root access)

  The application is a Firefox plugin (loaded from $HOME/.mozilla/plugins), so wrapper script that sets LD_LIBRARY_PATH is not an easy option. RPATH, as far as I know, cannot refer to $HOME and can be only absolue path. Firefox tries to dlopen it's plugin from ~/.mozilla/plugins but fails (because it depends on shared libraries installed somewhere in the user home directory). Modifying Firefox menu item to provide a wrapper (with LD_LIBRARY_PATH) around Firefox is too hacky. What should installer script do (without root access) to make standard firefox load plug-ins that depends on out shared library? Should I just try to make embed everything into that .so to remove dependencies? Should I try to make installer script to finish linking or patch RPATH during the installation phase?

  From the documentation: os.path.realpath(path) Return the canonical path of the specified filename, eliminating any symbolic links encountered in the path (if they are supported by the operating system). When I invoke this with an extant file's name, I get the path to it: /home/myhome/myproject. When I invoke this with a 'nonsense.xxx' string argument, I still get a path to /home/myhome/myproject/nonsense.xxx. This is a little inconsistent because it looks like nonsense.xxx is taken to be a directory not a file (though it is neither: it does not exist). When I invoke this with a null string file name, I still get a path to /home/myhome/myproject. How can I account for this behaviour when the documentation says so little about realpath()? (I am using Python 2.5.) Edit: Somebody suggested a way to test if files exist. My concern is not to test if files exist. My concern is to account for behaviour.

  I'm trying to get the back-ground image of a legacy div (by which I mean it already has a background image, which I cannot control & thus have to initially over-write) to smoothly rotate indefinitely. • Unable to update the snapshot view in clearcase on linux

  Hi I am trying to create a new snapshot view on my machine and i am using the following procedure: creating the view using ct mkview -snapshot -tag testview -vws /home/store/testview.vws /home/view/testview here the view gets created but fails to register which i register using the ct update on this /home/view/testview location tried to change the configspec using ct edcs & but got error "cleartool: Error: Cannot get view info for current view: not a ClearCase object." explicitly modifying the config_spec using vi editor, and the updating the view ends up creating a log...but no files are copied :( Can someone please direct me as to where i am going wrong?

I assume that this is the reason for the latter error that I don't have a database configuration. • Git is ignoring .git directories in subdirectories

  I'm using git as a backup tool and 'roaming profile' for my $HOME directory between laptop and desktop. My problem is that under my $HOME I have a Development directory with multiple git projects I'm working on. Git will not allow me to add the subdirectories .git folders. So to commit to these projects I have to push the changes into my $HOME git repo, pull on laptop (where they were created and .git dir exsits) and commit. I've read about submodules, but it's not really what I want. I just want the children .git folders to be treated like any old directory so I can move them around and back them up. Has anyone done this or have an idea how I would?

  I'm running Gitolite over the Git repository and I have post-receive hook there written in Python. I need to execute "git" command at git repository directory. There are few lines of code: proc = subprocess.Popen(['git', 'log', '-n1'], cwd='/home/git/repos/testing.git' stdout=subprocess.PIPE, stderr=subprocess.PIPE) proc.communicate() After I make new commit and push to repository, scripts executes and says fatal: Not a git repository: '.' If I run proc = subprocess.Popen(['pwd'], cwd='/home/git/repos/testing.git' stdout=subprocess.PIPE, stderr=subprocess.PIPE) it says, as expected, correct path to git repository (/home/git/repos/testing.git) If I run this script manually from bash, it works correct and show correct output of "git log". What I'm doing wrong?

• ghc can't find my cabal installed packages

  I've installed ghc 6.12.3, and then the Haskell Platform. I'm trying to compile a test program: $ ghc test.hs test.hs:3:0: Failed to load interface for `Bindings': Use -v to see a list of the files searched for. so, naturally, I do cabal install Bindings Which works fine, and places the package in ~/.cabal/lib/bindings-0.1.2 The problem is, that when I go to compile again with ghc, it still doesn't find the package I've installed with cabal. compiling in verbose mode gives: ghc -v test.hs Using binary package database: /home/ludflu/ghc/lib/ghc-6.12.3/package.conf.d/package.cache Using binary package database: /home/ludflu/.ghc/x86_64-linux 6.12.3/package.conf.d/package.cache As suggested by another stackoverflow user, I tried: ghc-pkg describe rts > rts.pkg vi rts.pkg # add the /home/ludflu/.cabal/lib to `library-dirs` field ghc-pkg update rts.pkg But to no avail. How to I add the .cabal to the list of package directories to search? Thank you!

  My android application get restarted when I take the application from home screen, but this not a consistent. Some time it works perfectly (resume with the last visited activity). My application contains a splash screen activity and 5 activities in tab layout. I am working on actual device.   I want to ignore the post form in the django's internatonalization. I am using the django-multilingual app, so I have different fields for different languages in the db. I come up with this idea: For each language, from the index.html page, redirect to a different url (e.g. /en/ or /de/ or /zh/). And each view of this urls, set the session according to the language like this: def set_lang_en(request): request.session['django_language'] = 'en' render_to_response("home.html") def set_lang_zh(request): request.session['django_language'] = 'zh-cn' render_to_response("home.html") Interestingly, this does the job, but if i refresh the page again after redirection (home.html). Why it is like this? And how can solve this problem either in my direction or other one?

Something like: ID(int), namePerson(string), homeLocation(string), workLocation(string) where homeLocation and workLocation can both be null. Now I want all the different locations that are used merged into a single list.   Hi, I'm trying to install wordpress on a Windows IIS server. I've extracted the wordpress file to a path like the following: www.domain.com/home I've setup the mysql database and configured the necessary wp-config.php. All is good so far. When I open the install php at: http://www.domain.com/home/wp-admin/install.php The page looks for its stylesheet at: http://www.domain.com/wp-admin/css/install.css That is wrong, it should look for the stylesheet at: http://www.domain.com/home/wp-admin/css/install.css I'm guessing the problem is with IIS but I have no clue how to tackle it and google did not help so far. I hope someone would know why this is happening. Thanks!

  I have created a rotating banner script for a new site I'm developing View banner here(it rotates every 10 seconds) Unfortunately to the transition seems to be a biut buggy, and the image will fade out, show the same image again and then fade in the new one.   fopen function is not working in php. But If I run this code from browser it shows the following error. • How do I get certain code to execute before every single controller action in ASP.NET MVC 2?

  I want to check some things about the state of the session, the user agent, etc, and possibly take action and return a special view BEFORE a controller method gets a chance to execute. For example: Most common: User requests Home/Index System checks to make sure x != 0. x does not equal zero, so the Home/Index controller executes like normal. But, sometimes: User requests Home/Index System checks to make sure x != 0. x DOES equal zero. The user must be notified and the requested controller action cannot be allowed to execute. I think this involves the use of ActionFilters. But I have read about them and I don't understand if I can preempt the controller method and return a view before it executes. I am sure I could execute code before the controller method runs, but how do I keep it from running in some instances and return a custom view, or direct to a different controller method?

• Pattern for iPhone background loading during init?

  Hi everyone, I'm currently kicking off a background thread to do some REST queries in my app delegate's didFinishLaunchingWithOptions. This thread creates some objects and populates the model as the rest of the app continues to load (because I don't block, and didFinishLaunchingWithOptions returns YES). I also put up a loading UIViewController 'on top' of the main view that I tear down after the background initialization is complete. My problem is that I need to notify the first view (call it the Home view) that the model is ready, and that it should populate itself. The trick is that the background download could have finished before Home.viewDidAppear is called, or any of the other Home.initX methods. I'm having difficulty synchronizing all of this and I've thought about it long enough that it feels like I'm barking up the wrong tree. Are there any patterns here for this sort of thing? I'm sure other apps start by performing lengthy operations with loading screens :) Thanks!
