  • populating html table from database

    Hi everyone, I want to generate html table in my jsp witch display values selected before submitting to allow user to know what did he puts into the form. So I finish the form when submitting the values are inserted in database. Now I search the possibility to display in the same jsp of the form the table having all the values selected. So it is possible ton allow to actions in the form tag to insert and display from database at the same time. Many Thanks for your help.

    Hi all, I have a string that if it is longer than lets say 10 words, I want to split it into two parts. The second part will be included else-where after a 'more' link. The string will hold html tags too though. For an example the string could be: <p>This is just a test string with more words than the <strong>amount allow</strong> before split, blah blah blah</p> So in the case I would want: $string[0] // <p>This is just a test string with more words than</p>; $string[1] // <p>the <strong>amount allow</strong> before split, blah blah blah</p>; Thanks in advance

  • Permissions for Large Variables to Be Sent Via Stored Procedures (SQL Server)

    I can't figure out a way to allow more than 4000 bytes to be received at once via a call to a stored procedure. I am storing images in the table that are around 15 - 20 kilobytes each, but upon getting them and displaying them to the page, they are always exactly 3.91 KB in size (or 4000 bytes). Do stored procedures have a limit on how much data can be sent at once? I double-checked my data, and I am indeed only receiving the first 4000 characters from the varbinary(MAX) field. Is there a permission setting to allow more than 4k bytes at once?

    Following up on Reason for unintuitive UnboundLocalError behaviour (I will assume you've read it). Consider the following Python script: def f(): # a+=1 # 1 aa=a aa+=1 # b+='b' # 2 bb=b bb+='b' c[0]+='c' # 3 c.append('c') cc=c cc.append('c') # 4 a=1 b='b' c=['c'] f() print a print b print c The result of the script is: 1 b ['cc', 'c', 'c'] The commented out lines (marked 1,2) are lines that would through an UnboundLocalError and the SO question I referenced explains why. However, the line marked 3 works! By default, lists are copied by reference in Python, therefore it's understandable that c changes when cc changes. But why should Python allow c to change in the first place, if it didn't allow changes to a and b directly from the method's scope? I don't see how the fact that by default lists are copied by reference in Python should make this design decision inconsistent. What am I missing folks?

    Ok...here's a softball question... I just need to be able to insert a key/value pair into an object at a specific position. I'm currently working with a Hashtable which, of course, doesn't allow for this functionality. What would be the best approach? UPDATE: Also, I do need the ability to lookup by the key.   • How to create thumbnail images from DOC/RTF/PDF/XLS files

    I need to ask if any of you has any knowledge of creating file thumbnails on the fly. I have found a free component but it works only for PDF files, PDFThumbnailer. But my requirement is to convert DOC/RTF/PDF/XLS files to thumbnails on the fly, and if possible allow to save it as an image for later reference which currently PDFThumbnailer doesnt allow. PDFThumbnailer takes the pdf file and renders an image for it on browser, if that image can also be saved somehow to my machine that would be great too. Please guide me of how to achieve the above requirements. Any help for any filetype is appreciated. Thanks Imdadhusen

  • jQuery slider - set background color to show desired range

    Howdy, I'm setting up a Filament Group jQuery UI slider and using it in a gradebook. We need to allow teachers to set a desired background range (to show the desirable values vs. the actual value for a given grade). I'm hoping to set a shaded area (as shown in this picture) that would indicate to people viewing the slider which values are desirable. If the handle is within the desired ranges, then the value is satisfactory. If the handle is out of the background shaded range, then some changes may need to happen. Any suggestions on how to accomplish this? Based on what I've experimented with using Firebug, it looks like a <div class="ui-slider"> is setup, but the values inside of it don't seem to allow setting background-colors (only the div allows for that).   • Windows service only gets called when Visual Studio is attached to process

    I've created a simple windows service in C# using Visual Studio 2010. It uses a TcpListener and socket to listen for messages on a given port. This worked absolutely perfectly when my laptop had Windows Vista on it. However, since upgrading to Windows 7 and re-installing my service it only responds if I'm attached to the process and debugging in Visual Studio 2010 - at which time it behaves as expected. I've tried running the service under my (administrator) credentials and setting the exe to run as administrator. I've also checked "Allow service to interact with desktop" when it was running under the Local System account. I'm testing using both a test console app and an Adobe Air application - both with the same results. Are there some specific permissions that I need to allow the service to be called?

That means, at some point, an app is backgrounded and the user interacts with a browser window. Just before the browser opens, it's a recommended pratctice to inform the user about what will happen (see e.g. Getting Started with OAuth 2.0 - O'Reilly), let's say an alert window with something like "you will leave now the XYZ app and a browser window will open where you can enter your credentials safely". My question: How can that be done if I use the facebook SDK for ios? Looking at the SDK, there seem to be no notifications and no designated states that would allow me to detect that the sdk is about to background my app and about to opening either Safari or the Facebook app.

    Trying to use a wildcard in C# to grab information from a webpage source, but I cannot seem to figure out what to use as the wildcard character. Nothing I've tried works! The wildcard only needs to allow for numbers, but as the page is generated the same every time, I may as well allow for any characters. Regex statement in use: Regex guestbookWidgetIDregex = new Regex("GuestbookWidget(' INSERT WILDCARD HERE ', '(.*?)', 500);", RegexOptions.IgnoreCase); If anyone can figure out what I'm doing wrong, it would be greatly appreciated!

  • attaching multiple files to a domain class

    I've seen various Grails plugins which allow easier handling of file uploads, however these tend only to support a single file per form-submit. I'd like a multi-attach form where as soon as you pick one file, an extra field and button is added using JS (various sites do it like this). Do you know of any good plugins which provide elegant uploading of multiple files without excessive coding? A progress bar either per-file of for the whole process would also be very nice. I don't know to what extent I can allow GORM to handle a java.io.File field (or in this case a Collection<File>).

But as I already declared it as an interface, why does it allow me to create anonymous class of same name....? again...if these are anonymous classes then class main should allow me to give any name to these anonymous classes..But if try to do so..I'm getting compilation error

    I tried to write a .htaccess file on my local pc's website, I've realized I need to set AllowOverride All instead of None searched, found the file /etc/apache2/conf.d/security in the file I found #<Directory /> #AllowOverride None #Order Deny,Allow #Deny from all #</Directory> changed it to <Directory /> AllowOverride All Order Deny,Allow Deny from all </Directory> typed service apache2 restart and... .htaccess still didn't work :I the file by the way, holds one line, deny from all.

    Hello. I'm having a little problem with configuring the firewall on my server. I only want a specific range of IPs to be able to access specific ports. For example, I'm having alot of password attempts to some of my servers, so I want to make it more safe by only allowing incoming connections from a specific range of domain. Example: My IP is usually adsl-324-4.somecompany.com so I want to allow *.somecpompany.com to connect, as my IP is dynamic. That would get rid of alot of attempts to hack into my servers. But I have no idea how to mask a domain like that for the firewall. How could I for example allow all incoming connections from *.is? Thanks.

    Hi, Is there a way to call an R-Script within C-Code? I did find the R Api for C (chaper 6. of the 'Writing R Extensions' manual), but as far as I understood this does "only" allow to call the C-Implementation of R. Of cause I could call the R-Script via shell, but that's no solution for me, since this does not allow proper passing of data (at least no if I don't what to write the data into a Csv-File or something like this). Is there a easy way of using the R to C parser beforehand? Any hints you can give me? regards, Tiny

This should happen only when the process "Gtalk" is started, [not when running] The code I have written and implemented, doesn't allow to open IExplore when Gtalk is running. That is certainly what not I am trying for. The process Gtalk should close browser only at its start-up, After the process is started, it should allow to open IExplore. Is it possible with Windows service or is it must be the part of Gtalk process itself?     I'm wondering if there's an off the shelf CMS available that is similar to something like Mobile Roadie - ie: it will allow you to create multiple versions of one application? I'm looking to develop some mobile travel guides for iPhone/Android/Blackberry etc, and rather than get a CMS built, I'd like to see if there's something out there is similar to Wordpress in that it will allow us to input text, images, Google Maps details, phone numbers, email addresses and potentially some audio/video content. If anyone knows of anything, I'd love to hear about it. Also, if you have any ideas regarding pricing, that would be extremely helpful! Thanks in advance for your assistance.
