  In C# I can do this: new SomeObjectType("abc", 10); In other words, I can call new without assigning the created instance to any variable. However, in VB.Net it seems I cannot do the same thing. New SomeObjectType("abc", 10) ' syntax error Is there a way to do this in VB.Net?

• Explicit Event add/remove, misunderstood?

  I've been looking into memory management a lot recently and have been looking at how events are managed, now, I'm seeing the explicit add/remove syntax for the event subscription. I think it's pretty simple, add/remove just allows me to perform other logic when I subscribe and unsubscribe? Am I getting it, or is there more to it? Also, while I'm here, any advice / best practices for cleaning up my event handles.

The plugin works with jQuery v1.1 and v1.2 but for some reason it fails with the v1.3 base. • Jquery $.post() - Possible to do a full page post request?

  I know I can do an out of band Post request with Jquery and the $.post( syntax. However, I'm interested to know if it is possible for jquery to cause a post request on the whole page (as when a form is submitted) so that a brand new page is loaded. Is this possible? So roughly like this: define function name (doX) here somehow (i.e. subject of this question) call doX here (further down in the code) doX implemention here (i.e. all functions down at the bottom of the file)

  Hi all, Under Hudson, does somebody know how to specify a release tag name in a cvs checkout ? At the moment, i only specify the CVSROOT and modules names to checkout my project in my workspace. For example, this does not work: select max([id]) from @dbName+N'.[T1]' This will give an error like: Msg 102, Level 15, State 1, Line 73 Incorrect syntax near '+'. I know that something like this works: declare @qualifiedTable varchar(200) = @dbName+N'.[T1]' select max([id]) from @qualifiedTable But I have to do this LOTS of times so I would really like to do it in line.
