• Managing dependencies with Hadoop Streaming?

  hi all, had a quick hadoop streaming question.. If I'm using python streaming and I have python packages my mappers/reducers require that aren't installed by default do I need to install those on all the hadoop machines as well or is there some sort of serialization that sends them to the remote machines? thanks!

• QueryString From Shared Function

  I'm trying to get a query string from a shared function in a code-behind model using VB.NET. You have to use HttpContext.Current.Request.QueryString("Query") in order to get it from a shared function, however doing HttpContext.Current.Request.QueryString.Count gives back 0, which obviously isn't right in my case as there's many that exist. Is there some sort of issue with using this static call from a shared function?

  Our program requires the user to hold the Alt+Shift keys together in order to carry out some operations. The problem is that Windows uses this combination to switch locale on some setups. Anyone got any ideas as to how we can "override" this behaviour of Windows whilst our program is running? Can we do some sort of message intervention?

  For Data Explorer I would like to add support for a Batch separator. So for example if users type in: select 'GO' go select 1 as go Go select 100 I would like to return the three result sets. Its clear that I need some sort of parser here, my hope is that this is a solved problem and I can just plug it in.   I'm using datagridview in windows application developed in C# VS2005 .net 2.0. Datagridview is provided a list of business objects. It take annoying delay of 2-3 seconds before starting displaying the rows in datagridview in falling-curtain fashion. When I switch back to my application from any other window it start repaint process in the same falling-curtain fashion. This is quite annoying. Plz someone help me sort this out!

  Is it possible to protect flv files from download? I'd like to protect my files from download but I don't have the money for a streaming server which I think provides some sort of protection. The files are streamed via PHP and are located in an upload folder on my server. I've used PHP to ensure that only subscribers can view the video but I basically want to go a step further and prevent subscribers from, upon login, downloading my videos with downloaders such as Sothink Flv Downloader for Firefox.
