• bottom align text in div with floated H1?

  I have a block of text, and inside the block I have an h1 tag floated left. I would like the first line of text to align with the bottom of the first line of text. Here is the sample site: http://myhealthsense.abyteshosting.com/ The block in question is the block under the header that says "Welcome! I am a..." I want the 'Welcome!' to have it's bottom aligned with the rest of the sentence, and for the next line to wrap under the 'Welcome!'. As it is now, there are two lines wrapped to the right of 'Welcome!'. Of course I could do this easily if all the text was together in a line, and I could use spans to set the sizes. But, since this is all generated out of drupal, the content comes as it is. In other words, the text in the block comes from the database, and is generated in a div, but the 'welcome!' has to be in the template. If I put it in the content div, my user will mess it up every time they edit the content. Any hints are appreciated.

• Why are these floats wrapping in Internet Explorer?

  My website, ReadyMadeWeb.com, looks great in FireFox, Safari, and Chrome, but of course IE has different plans for the floats used the in the #content area. You can see what I mean if you view the site in IE. The main column is pushed below the first sidebar. The content boxes and the de.licio.us sidebar both sit within another div. I have looked at overflow and clear settings, but changing those has not helped. Any ideas?

• CSS margin collapsing?

  I'm working with Google Chrome on OS X, and I seem to be running into a margin collapse issue. I have two divs stacked on top of each other, both with a margin-top of 2px and a margin-bottom of 5px, and both with a 1px border. According to my arithmetic, there should be 1+1+2+5=7px of space between the "content" areas of the divs, since the border prevents the margins from collapsing? More confusing is that, in a location where I have a div with a 3px border and a 0 margin-top underneath one of the previously described divs, I end up with 9px of space (as I so dearly desire). The only difference between the divs is the additional class that shrinks the border and redefines the margins, so both divs have the same padding (only padding-bottom is 0). Can anyone point out where I've gone wrong?

• Optimized graph drawing for the web

  Having seen some suggestions for graphs, I wonder what's the optimum for my problem. I want to render a directed graph to a servlet/picture that is displayed in the browser. There should be some kind of optimization of position. No dependency to Swing would be preferred. Algorithms are not important, since the structure of the graph is determined by business logic. It would be desired to be able add labels to edges as well. it would be optimal if i can serve this as png/svg. Which library/service would you recommend? clarifications: 1) The question is all about Graphs - like Directed Acyclic Graph - NOT - Charts. 2) flot, Google Charts - cannot plot graphs, only charts, or have i missed something? 3) no i do not need interactivity 4) graphviz would be nice, but the grappa java library is quite outdated and is built upon swing/awt. while it may be theoretically possible to render swing to images, it would not be my favorite way to to so in a server-app. 5) it would be fine to use an online service where the images are not hosted locally. edit: added links to Wikipedia to clarify graph/chart term

Here's how my designer intends the Gravatar images to look in the sidebar of our site: Here's the overlay image I made (screenshotted from Photoshop): Here's how it looks right now... Not quite ideal, I think you'll agree.   Hi, With Shopify I am trying to alter my product template to display a dropdown select list instead of radio buttons for my product variants. I managed to do this but when you try and add a product to the cart from the list it says, "No variant ID was passed." • Ul Li last element not aligning properly

• PHP calling and displaying CSS in different browser.

  I'm having problem with CSS where, when I run on Mozilla Firefox the CSS is doing fine. But when I run inside Internet Explorer, the CSS is not working. When I try to change the code in the CSS file, it works otherwise. Mozilla is OK, but Internet Explorer is not. I have an idea calling 2 different CSS. For example, style_IE.css and style_moz.css. Both CSS files will be called from header.html. How can I fix this problem? Is there some code that can distinguish between browsers? Whenever the user is running in Internet Explorer, then style_IE is called if not it otherwise.

  I hired a designer to help me redesign the UI for my Android app. For each Activity he gave me an image for the background, which includes any static content like fancy frames for text content; plus images for the buttons, which must fit in to the background image in exact places, to fit into the frames in the background image. However, since Android devices have different screen sizes and aspect ratios, it's easy to fit the background image by itself with android:scaleType="centerInside", but how can I get all the other images to fit in with background exactly, to the pixel? If they didn't have to fit in with the background, I would just set the exact width and height for each ImageButton, but depending on how the background scales (based on the screen size and ratio) they might end up not aligned correctly.   I'm working on a album viewer. At the top I want a horizontal container of all the image thumbnails. Right now all the thumbnails are wrapped in a div with float:left. I'm trying to figure out how to keep these thumbnails from wrapping to the next line when there are too many, but rather stay all in one horizontal row and use the scrollbar. • How to set my .apk file to run on different screen resolution in android?

  I am using a "WVGA800" for my app. I try to run it on different resolution screens. It it is not perfectly scratching in that resolution . I read and implement issues form this link. http://developer.android.com/guide/practices/screens_support.html But still not result. Please let me know if any one hase a perfect solution. Main issue are that I am fixing hight & width of Image, textsize etc. When these are displayed to screen of "WVGA800". But when I test them on "HVGA", "QVGA" then problem arise. I want to avoid the "if else" conditions by getting the screen resolution at Runtime. If any one hase any solution for this...let me know. Thanks in advance. I am also wondring when there will be new devices with new screen resolutions?
