    Hi, The default patch file viewer is messy (ie. no side by side diff view etc). I tried setting the path of beyondCompare exe in "Settings-Unified Diff Viewer-custom", but beyond compare also behaves same as default diff tool. Is there a way to atleast allow side by side diff in patch files ? If so, what is the method ? My aim is to allow emailing of changes so that they can be reviewed before I commit them :) Mishal

But when I start the sharepoint website from ie it takes about 2-3 minutes for the first time after deployment of the new webpart. Is this the normal time ? thanx Stephan

    I'm playing around with css transforms and the equivalent filters in IE, and want to simulate perspective by transforming a 2d rectangle into a trapezium. Specifically, I want the right hand side of the rectangle to stay the same height, and the left hand side to be say 80% of the height, so that the mid points of both sides are horizontally in line with each other. I'm familiar with matrix algebra, but can't think how to determine what matrix will do that.

    Hey all.. I noticed that an application I am maintaining was giving me a javascript error in IE8 and FF. The script was trying to get a collection of frame elements: document.frames This always returned 'undefined'. I placed a watch on the document object and noticed that this collection does not seem to be a member of the document object in IE8. I think this was always the case in FF but this same code works in older versions of IE. Has this been removed? -Nick

    And is there an elegant linqy way to do it? What I want to do is create string of given length with made of up multiples of another string up to that length So for length - 9 and input string "xxx" I get "xxxxxxxxx" (ie length 9) for a nun integral multiple then I'd like to truncate the line. I can do this using loops and a StringBuilder easily but I'm looking to see if the language can express this idea easily. (FYI I'm making easter maths homework for my son)

    I've got several script.aculo.us Ajax.Autocomplete controls on a page and when the drop down div is rendered it's always stuck behind the other text boxes on the page, no matter what I do with zIndex and positioning. The problem occurs in IE and FF. Anyone else run into this? Am I missing something, or is this just life with this control?

    Do you see any problem with this: I'm in ASP.net and I'm using pikachoose jquery slideshow. It works fine in IE and was working in Firefox.     What is the best way to link to the icons of websites? Meaning, given a hostname, what src should I put in an <img tag to link to the 16x16 icon? I was just doing http://<hostname>/favicon.ico.     I'm trying to call a function, test(), of an iframe from the parent document using the code subframe.test(); subframe refers correctly to the iframe, alert(subframe) returns [object HTMLIFrameElement], and the function runs in both IE7 and opera (9.23), but not firefox (3.0), chrome (3.0) or safari (3.03 beta windows). I assume these browsers support the functionality, so wondering if perhaps I'm using an incorrect call which IE and Opera support anyway, which wouldn't surprise me.
