• passing info from facebook to UITabBarController

  When my app first start, it shows up a main page showing to login to facebook and then it goes to the UITabBarController. The problem is that after getting this info and now I am in the UITabViewController... how do I get those information that I already queried facebook for? I have a class called UserInfo as well, which basically has everything essential I need. I need to have the info from UserInfo so that the other ViewController in the UITabBarController have access to it.... I hope my question makes sense

  Problem I want to save the attributes of a model that have changed when a user edits them. Here's what I want to do ... Retrieve edited view model Get domain model and map back updated value Call the update method on repository Get the "old" domain model and compare values of the fields Store the changed values (in JSON) into a table However I am having trouble with step number 4. It seems that the Entity Framework doesn't want to hit the database again to get the model with the old values. It just returns the same entity I have. Attempted Solutions I have tried using the Find() and the SingleOrDefault() methods, but they just return the model I currently have. • Can't use method from class in other file

  I am not able to use one of my methods that i implemented in my tableviewcell file in my tableview controller implementation. I tried searching the web and xcode help with no luck. The old way we would do it was to have a new file for each client (e.g., clientX_NeatFeature.xml) that contained a bunch of beans for this client (these are hand-edited and part of the code base): <bean id="clientXNeatBean" parent="neatBean"> <property id="whatever" value="something"/> </bean> Now, I want to have a UI where we can edit and redefine a client's neatBean on the fly. • MVC and binding to List of Checkboxes

  Here is my problem. I have a list of models that are displayed to the user. On the left is a checkbox for each model to indicate that the user wants to choose this model (in this case, we're building products a user can add to their shopping cart). The model has no concept of being chosen...it strictly has information about the product in question. I've talked with a few other developers after having gone through and the best I could come up with is getting the formcollection and string parsing the key values to determine whether the checkbox is checked or not. This doesn't seem ideal. I was thinking there would be something more strongly bound, but I can't figure out a way to do it. I tried creating another model that had a boolean property to represent being checked and a property of the model and passing a list of that model type to the view and creating a ActionResult on the controller that accepts a list of the new model / checked property, but it comes back null. Am I just thinking too much like web forms and should just continue on with parsing checkbox values? Here's what I've done for wrapping the models inside a collection: public class SelectableCollection[T] : IList[T] {} public class SelectableTrack{ public bool IsChecked{get;set;} public bool CurrentTrack{get;set;} } For the view, I inherit from ViewPage[SelectableCollection[SelectableTrack]] For the controller, I have this as the ActionResult: [HttpPost] public ActionResult SelectTracks(SelectableCollection sc) { return new EmptyResult(); } But when I break inside the ActionResult, the collection is null. Any reason why it isn't coming through?

• How to use custom attributes over a web service?

  Hi. I am currently trying to add a custom "column name" to a property in a web service. Thing is, I want to use a different name other than the name of the property. For example, I would like to show "Order Number" instead of OrderNum. I have attempted to use custom attributes but that does not seem to work. Is there way I can provide a different name to these properties over a web service with a use of an attribute? Is there another way I can achieve what I am trying to do?

  I'm currently learning more about php objects and constructors/destructors, but i've noticed in my code that the parent class's destructor is being called twice, I thought it was because i was extending the first class to my second class and that the second class was calling it, but this is what the php docs say about that: Like constructors, parent destructors will not be called implicitly by the engine. • NHibernate / ORM - Child Update over Web Service

  What is the correct way to UPDATE a child object with NHibernate but not have to "awake" the parent object. Lets say you would like to try to avoid this because the parent object is large or expensive to initiate. Lets assume classes are called Author(parent) and Book(child). (still, trying to avoid instantiating Author) Book comes back over a web service as XML. It gets deserialized back into a CLR object. Book has an AuthorId property which allows this to happen. But it also has a Author property. Problem, comes when you try to SaveOrUpdate() Book and the author_id in the database gets wiped out because the Author was null when the object gets deserialized. This seems like this would be a common problem. What is the workaround? Also, if you instantiate the Author and it has a Books property. The book you are trying to update is already one of these books (List<Book>). We have also run into the "a different object with the same identifier value was already associated with the session" problems. What is the standard process to update a child over a web service?

• Two-state script monitor not auto-resolving in SCOM

  This script runs, and if it returns 'erro' an alert is generated in SCOM. The alert is set to resolve when the monitor returns to healthy state. I have tested the script with cscript and it returns the correct values in each state. • Eclipse Helios on OS X Snow Leopard crashes frequently when editing certain PHP files

  I use Eclipse Helios (Eclipse Platform: 3.6.0.I20100608-0911, Eclipse IDE for PHP Developers: 1.3.0.20100617-0520) all the time on OS X (Snow Leopard), and it seems I only run into trouble whenever I'm editing a PHP file that's part of the WordPress blogging framework. When I move my cursor to a variable or function name, that often triggers the beach ball of death. I suspect Eclipse is trying to look up that variable/function and for some reason that causes an endless loop. Sometimes it's not just variables or functions. Just today I was trying to replace all occurrences of a quoted string. Every time I clicked "Replace All", the program would freeze immediately after the string was replaced and the text cursor was moved to the replaced position. I think the moving of the text cursor is important, because I got the same result when I searched for the string (thus moving the cursor), but NOT when I searched for a nonexistent string. I tried disabling everything in my preferences related to marked occurrences, hovering, code assistance, etc. Nothing helps. I use Eclipse for all my projects, and I find that it's only WordPress projects where this happens. It's a hybrid of HTML and PHP, so Eclipse has to do both HTML and PHP validation. I wondered if the HTML validation had something to do with it, so I created a new file, copied the contents over, and messed with the doctype element. I found that if I replaced the well-formed XHTML 1.0 Strict doctype element with a generic doctype (as such: <!DOCTYPE html>), then I did not crash the program just by moving the cursor around. I set all HTML validation rules to "Ignore", but it still didn't solve my problems. For now, I'm just going to echo the doctype using PHP instead of entering it literally. That seems to prevent crashes. I notice that when I move the cursor around the document, Eclipse displays the "xpath" to my current location at the bottom of the screen. Sometimes there's a delay while it figures out my current path. Perhaps when it's validating against the Strict doctype, it has problems quickly calculating the xpath as I move the cursor around? Maybe it has a stack overflow that causes it to crash.

• Tomcat can't talk to MySql after outage

  I missed a payment for my server and hey suspended my account for a day or so. When they brought the server back up all my data was in tact but for some reason Tomcat can't make a JDBC connection to my MySql server. They both run on the same machine and hence I have a bind address of 127.0.0.1. It's strange because I have reset the machine of my own accord before without issue but clearly something has been reset in the downtime. I followed this guide (Just the bits which don't concern S3, I am not on Amazon infrastructure) originally and everything worked as expected. I'm very new to being a SysAdmin and I'm not sure what to try, how would you go about diagnosing this issue? • In Visio 2010, how can I create a mandatory, non-identifying relationship between two database tables

  I'm working in MS Visio 2010. This is the relevant part of my ERD: The relationship between Event and Adventure is correct: there's a foreign key from Event to Adventure, and that FK is part of Event's primary key. However, what I can't figure out is how to make the relationship line from Adventure to AccomodationType be the same, without making that relationship part of the PK of adventure. When I look at the 'Miscellaneous' properties of that relationship line, I want it to be: Cardinality: Zero or more Relationship type: Non-identifying Child has parent: Not optional (mandatory) But the checkbox for the third property is greyed out, and toggles between True/False as I make the relationship Non-identifying/Identifying. The only way I could figure out was to disconnect the two columns, from the 'Definition' tab, which then un-grey's the 'Optional' checkbox, but then I lose the foreign key property on the accomType column, and while the relationship symbols are correct, the line remains dotted. Any ideas, anyone?

  I'm running an ASP.NET 4.0 web application on IIS6 (Windows Server 2003 x64). This app is one of many running on this server under the Default Web Site -- but is alone on it's own application pool because the other sites are all running ASP.NET 2.0 still. When I deploy my application, it works just fine until the application pool recycles or kills its worker process (by default 2 hours or 20 minutes with no activity). After this, I get the error: "Unable to load one or more of the requested types. Retrieve the LoaderExceptions property for more information. • How to Unblock Previously Unblocked CHM File

  Wierd? Anyway, on Windows 7, I've downloaded a CHM file on the desktop and unblocked it by Property > Unblock. I moved the CHM file to a folder on the desktop to organize the files, and when I opened the file, the content of the CHM reader couldn't open the pages in the CHM file. I've open the file property, but the unblocked button is gone. Well, I can simply download the file, though I find the problem interesting and I need to know how to troubleshoot it. So, how can I unblock the said file? Update Clarified location. I was referring to a folder in the desktop, not in network drive.

  By secure, I don't mean the machines itself and access to it from the network. I mean, and I suppose this could be applied to any kind of hosting service, when you put all your intellectual property onto a hosted provider, what happens to the hard disks as they cycle through them? Say I've invested million into my software, and the information and data that I have is valuable, how can I be sure it isn't read off old disks as they're recycled? Is there some kind of standard to look for that ensures a provider is going to use the strictest form of intellectual property protection? Is SAS70 applicable here?
