    I am developing a web blog using ASP.NET, but I guess that the tech details like this, here, is not important. My aim is to insert in every post I create those nice buttons to the social networks account of my visitors so that they can quote or post the link to the blog entry in their space. How can I do this? I guess it also de3pend on the social network I want to use. Lets say, now, that I want to have links to Facebook, Tweet and Google circle accounts. Thankyou.

  • Proper response for a REST insert - full new record, or just the record id value?

    I'm building a REST API which allows inserts (POST, not idempotent) and updates (PUT, idempotent) requests to add/update database to our application. I'm wondering if there are any standards or best practices regarding what data we send back to the client in the response for a POST (insert) operation. We need to send back at least a record ID value (e.g. your new record is record #1234). Should we respond with the full object? (e.g. essentially the same response they'd get back from a "GET /object_type/1234" request) Should we respond with only the new ID value? (e.g. "{ id: 1234 }", which means that if they want to fetch the whole record they need to do an additional HTTP GET request to grab the full record) A redirect header pointing them to the URL for the full object? Something else entirely?

    Hi, I've configured my emacs to use M-j as backward-char by (global-set-key (kbd "M-j") 'backward-char) ; was indent-new-comment-line in my .emacs file. This works fine in many modes (text/org/lisp). But in c++-mode & php-mode it is bound to the default c-indent-new-comment-line How can I bind M-j to use backward-char in these modes too.     I have this in my controller: ViewBag.PriceListId = new SelectList(m_db.PriceLists, "Id", "Name", us.PriceListId); It contains two values now, but I want to enable the user to choose only the second value, and just if he does something else - allow him choose one of the both values. How do I omit the first value, and add and set him to default after that? Shoud I do it in my controller or use jquery? Thank in advance.

I'd like to say "give me all the files in this folder (or subfolder) that were modified after X/Y/ZZZZ" and dump those files to a folder other than the folder they would normally go to. I know enough powershell to hack about and get this done, eventually, but I'm hoping to avoid that.

The query to get data is something like this SELECT COUNT(ROWID) FROM <SCHEMANAME>.<TABLENAME>;@<DATABASENAME> INTO :localvariable I want to somehow set the schemaname and database name as default so that i do not need to use them in the SELECTs later.     I have this link @Ajax.ActionLink("create poll question", "CreatePoll", new { id = Model.DebateID }, new AjaxOptions { UpdateTargetId = "poll-entry-box", InsertionMode = InsertionMode.Replace, HttpMethod = "GET" }) which is pointing at a action with the [Authorize] Attribute. The login works, but the returnURL is empty so it just redirects to the index page. Is there some way to manually set the returnURL ? NOTE I am using the method described here http://haacked.com/archive/2011/10/04/prevent-forms-authentication-login-page-redirect-when-you-donrsquot-want.aspx because the login page was loading inside my partial.

[1, 2, 3, 4, 5] It is fairly easy to produce a recursive solution that generates all combinations and then sort them afterwards but I imagine there's a more efficient way that removes the need for the additional sort.
