• Code to plug into a Zend Framework project

  Hello everyone, Im currently working on a website in the Zend Framework and finding it very useful indeed. I want both a blog and a forum in this website and wondered if there are any open-source projects of this nature that I would be able to simply copy and paste into my modular project. I was using Wordpress and BBpress previously so something like that would be good, although I do not want to hack my Zend Auth to use the Wordpress authentication system, seems like too much hard work/hacky to do. So any ideas? Plus where are the best Zend framework 'plugins' (similar to wordpress)? Thanks everyone.

  So, I am using visual studio 2005 (and team explorer 2005) with tfs 2008. I have installed both Visual Studio 2005 SP1 and VS80sp1-KB932544-X86-ENU.exe. I perform the following steps: Select Project-ASP.NET Configuration within Visual Studio 2005. Within Visual Studio 2005, attempt to perform either a check-in or a checkout. The following happens: The local server started by Visual Studio starts closing itself. I suspect it is crashing; the systray icons are not properly disposed of. It then reopens itself. It does this over and over again, maybe once every second or two. The TFS progress meter doesn't even budge, it just sits there. Canceling out of the checkout does not work; it says it is cancelling and does nothing. Any suggestions?

  I'm looking to remove the Facebook API from my iPhone project for 2 reasons: 1) My Facebook functionality is unfinished and I'd like to submit the app minus ALL of the FB functionality 2) I don't want to include the Facebook API as it contains encryption and I don't want to fill out additional forms etc. So. I need a simple way to remove all of my Facebook functionality and not put build the facebook API as part of the binary. I was thinking of commenting out my FB code... but how do I disconnect the FB api so that I can easily put it back in later? Thanks!

  I am taking a software engineering class right now. Our assignment is to evaluate Mozilla's Thunderbird. Our assignment is to evaluate the size of Thunderbird. One metric that we need to use is the number of lines of code in the project. (Lines of code meaning not including comments or new lines). Is there a standard way to find the number of lines or am I better off just cracking out a script to do this? I think that I could do something like this: # remove all comments find -name *.java | \ sed "/\/*/,\*\// s/.*//g | \ # remove multiline comments sed s/\/\///g # remove single line comments # count not empty lines find -name *.java | grep -c "<character>" But I would need to do that for each file type. It seems like there should be some utility that does that already. (something mac/unix compatible would be preferable).

  Hello everyone: How can I use sphinx to search french words which the entries in the db is actually english? The situation is: I have a ROR project with a table in the db called "categories", and the category names are in english, category has many "question" entries. In localization file config/locals/fr.yml, these categories were translated to french. Consider about expandability, we can't change the category names in the db to french. User can search by type part of the key word. Here is a example: Category Name: Health and Medical In french: Santé et médecine so how can I do this: type "Santé médecine abc" in the search field and sphinx will return the "questions" under "Health and Medical" category and have keyword "abc"?

• Experience using Yii framework for actual PHP project

  I've been using Code Igniter for my PHP projects, when I start them from the beginning. It is very nice framework, saves me a lot of work and let me have low level access if I need to do something special. Code Igniter is also faster then similar frameworks by order of magnitude. I came across Yii framework which claims to be even faster and easier and prettier and whatever. I never heard of it and I was wondering if someone used it in some real life project and have practical experience that he is willing to share.

  For C# projects, I would like to have the F12 "Go to Definition" shortcut key to open the Object Browser and select the type under the cursor position. This is the behavior for VB.NET projects, which I really like. I think the Object Browser is more helpful than IntelliSense in some cases. I really do not need a text representation of the metadata. How do I duplicate the F12 / "Go to Definition" functionality in a C# project? Is there a different shortcut key for C#? I am not talking about the Alt+Ctrl+J shortcut key that displays the Object Browser.

  Hi All, All the time we are hearing that java is enterprise. We have read many books about jpa, entity beans and other stuff. All this books explain this technology with some dummy examples. I have not seen a book that explains real problems with enterprise beans, java clients and security! I mean real book not some imaginated stupid examples . Is there any book that describes completely some enterprise system, Its architecture, communication, security, of course the client that uses the distributed components ? I need a book that will cover the flowing: server side components (ejb, jpa) client side java desktop application security (authentication and authorization) web services with complete authentication clustering (we can find for all of this a book, but there is no book that covers all this things in one piece. • Integrating CKeditor to my symfony2 project

  I was trying to integrate ckeditor to my symfony2 project so that some of the textarea will have the ckeditor html editor. I brought the ckeditor on my required textarea by calling the class="ckeditor" in my form. The issue that I am facing now is that when I use the ckeditor the submit button of my form will not work instead I will have to use the built in "Save" option of the ckeditor toolbar for submitting the form. When I remove the ckeditor from the textareas and use normal textarea the submit button seems to work. I do not want to use the "Save" button on the ckeditor toolbar to submit my form. Is there a workaround to make the submit button work? Tried googling out for possible solutions but could not find any. P.S: I would also like to know if there are other html text editors like ckeditor that would work well with symfony2 and link to implementation instructions.

• Loading Eclipse plug-ins from source .jar without project file

  I have a number of plug-ins meant for the OSGi framework. They have been bundled in individual .jars containing the source .java files as well as the needed MANIFEST.MF and plugin.properties files. The problem is, I wish to edit these. What is the best/easiest way to import them as plug-ins into Eclipse so that I can continue as if I had been handed an eclipse project with source files (instead of the .jar files). • Which c# project files should I version control?

  I have a project I'm looking to manually manage via perforce version control as I only have the Express edition. What I'm looking for is which files should be excluded in the version control as locking many of the files can result in a problem for visual studio compiling and debugging. What I have, so far, included. .cs files (except properties folder) .resx files .csproj files Excluded bin folder obj folder Properties folder .user file Let me know if there is something more that should be included that I have excluded or if there is a better way to do this.

• Project name inserted automatically in url when using django template url tag

  I am applying the 'url' template tag to all links in my current Django project. I have my urls named like so... url(r'^login/$', 'login', name='site_login'), This allows me to access /login at my site's root. I have my template tag defined like so... <a href="{% url site_login %}"> It works fine, except that Django automatically resolves that url as /myprojectname/login, not /login. Both urls are accessible. Why? Is there an option to remove the projectname? This occurs for all url tags, not just this one.

• Building java project with TFS

  A very small portion of our codebase is some legacy Java code. I'm trying to add a new build that would invoke ant to build this project. The first problem is that TFS doesn't allow you to create a build that doesn't build a .Net solution. I got around this by copying a previous build file and adding an EndToEndIteration task which is the entry point for the build. The problem is that none of the usual build variables are populated - $(BuildDirectory), $(SolutionRoot) - all blank. This pretty much means I can't invoke my ant task without hardcoding the paths (which I definitely can't do). Any ideas?

• Can't finish Eclipse Plug-in Project Wizard when choosing RCP

  I'm trying create a RCP Application with Eclipse, but I can't get past the 'Content' screen of the New Plug-in Project Wizard. When I select 'yes' for "Rich Client Application, Would you like to create a rich client application" it disables the Next and the Finish Button. I first thought it is due to my target platform which is Eclipse 3.2, but changing that doesn't make a difference. On the top of the screen only one task is displayed (now warnings about missing or incompatible information): Enter the data required to generate the plug-in My Eclipse Version is 3.5 Any ideas? My ideal solution would be one where I could forward or copy a thread of emails into one spot, and go back after the fact to organize/categorize/add to it. Any ideas?

  Hello, I am relatively new to python and app engine, and I just finished my first project. It consists of several *.py files (usually py file for every page on the site) and respectively temple files for each py file. In addition, I have one big PY file that has many functions that are common to a lot of pages, in I also declared the classes of db.Model (that is the datastore kinds). My question is what is the convention (if there is one) of arranging these files. If I create a model.py with the datastore classes, should it be in different package? Where should I put my template files and all of the py files that handle every page (should they be in the same directory as the one big common PY file)? I have tried to look for MVC and such implementations online but there are very few. Thanks, Joel

  I cloned a project from github over to my desktop. I used to work on it form my laptop. However, on laptop heroku does not seem to work for this app eventhough i have it installed. First problem: heroku open >No app specified. >Run this command from app folder or set it adding --app <app name> I did not have to specify the --app on my laptop. Because I guess I did command heroku create initially on the lapop. Second Probelm: git push heroku master gives errors fatal: 'heroku' does not appear to be a git repository fatal: The remote end hung up unexpectedly and heroku list says ! • Start Codeblocks project from external code

  I have C++ code that depends on boost and other libraries, and therefore this code has a makefile that invokes boost. I am now trying to start developing this code in codeblocks in linux, so in order to do that I have two basic questions: (1) How can I import the code into codeblocks as a codeblocks new project? (2) How do I invoke the makefile with codeblocks instead of codeblocks trying to compile the code (which it would fail since codeblocks does not know that it needs to invoke boost).   Hi, I am trying to learn Microsoft MVC 2, and have in that case found a small project I wanted to deploy it on. My idea was to simulate a restaurant where you can order a table. Basics: A user can only reserve a full table, so I don't have the trouble of merging people on different tables. A person can order a table for a certain amount of hours. My question was how I could make the data model the smartest way. I thought of just having a my database like this: Table { Id, TableName } Reservations { Id TableId ReservedFrom ReservedTo UserId } User { UserId UserName ... } By doing it this way I would have to program a lot of the logic in e.g. the business layer, to support which tables are occupied at what time, instead of having the data model handle it. Therefore do you guys have a better way to do this?

  Is there an open source project that can serve as a good example on how to use the maven site plugin to generate reports? I would prefer it to consist of many modules, possibly hierarchically structured use as many plugins as possible (surefire, jxr, pmd, findbugs, javadoc, checkstyle, you name it) the reports should be aggregated: if some tests fail you want to have a single page that shows all modules with failing tests, not only a gazillion individual pages to check include enterprisey stuff (WAR, EAR etc), but this is not so important. The idea is to have something where you can gather ideas on how it is done and what is possible.
